Hotel with great tradition

Perfect location - about 5 min walk to the old town. The building is very old, well renovated and modernized. Room was OK. When the shower was not used for a couple of hours unpleasant smell from the drainage was slightly disturbing. Air conditioning not effective even when switched on no air flow could be felt. Great staff very friendly and supportive. Good breakfast buffet.

We were only at this hotel for 1 night but had a very positive experience starting with friendly and helpful staff at Reception; a nice bar and a good breakfast. Our room was spacious and had a balcony. Seemed strange that there was no bottled water in the room - possibly obtainable from the 1st floor Service area - we never had time to check. Great location and a safe, pleasant atmosphere

Very nice hotel in a good location

Hotel is old and full of character . Breakfast was decent . Innsbruck doesn’t have too much going on 2 days was plenty . Walkable to the old city which is cute but lack the charm of Salzburg, Vienna and Hallstatt .

Family stayed for a short trip to Innsbruck. The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of detail including a beautiful cellar where breakfast is served daily. There is a spa and sauna on the ground floor- we didn’t use but looked lovely. Convenient location to restaurants, shopping, hiking and ski lifts Nordkettenbahnen. The hotel is quite old and beautiful.

5 stars place. The hotel is in a great location and the facilities and rooms in excellent condition. Everyone was very friendly in the reception and the bar.

This was a great small hotel. Great service. Large room. Great bedding and bathroom. Laundry room made it easy. Great location just blocks from Old Town, so much quieter at night. Great food options and a great little bar downstairs with a great bar tender.

Fantastic hotel, fab staff

Beautiful, clean hotel. Extra friendly staff to greet you. Very nice room with comfortable bed and bathroom that was large and modern with a great shower. In close walking distance to Old Town and train station. Grocery with breakfast options right across the street.

Nice hotel close to the centre of Innsbruck. Large, well appointed rooms and excellent bathrooms. Lovely breakfast area with a good range of foods available for breakfast. The lack of a spa reduces this to an average hotel for the area. I was disappointed to find on arrival that the spa was closed and had been for some time. Had I known the spa was closed I would have chosen an alternative hotel.

The hotel is lovely and the team is super friendly and happy to help. The room were warm and clean. I will probably add some water in the room and same decaf coffee but the rest was great! There is also a very cozy bar and breakfast is great too!

In the heart of the old city, easy access to Christmas Markets, city sights and funicular which provided a not to be missed vie of all of Innsbruck and the valley. Highly recommended.

It is centrally located everything is walkable distance from here. Very clean and quiet.

Lovely hotel in Innsbruck, very friendly staff who made us feel super welcome. Room with the Mountain View was fantastic and looked beautiful. If coming back to Innsbruck this will definitely be the first hotel I will be looking to book!

The Adler was a beautiful hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing!!! We would definitely stay here again!

First, the location is excellent to walk around Innsbruck. But the room I was in was so warm, it was almost unbearable- I had the thermostat all the way to the cold side, auto fan, and the room was just stagnant, way too warm to be in. I thought I had added breakfast for a fee but it said breakfast was free - my bad, I thought it ended at 10:30 am for some reason but it ended at 10 am and when I arrived at 10:05 am there was absolutely no accommodating that. It was an ok property, but not great. Walkable location is the best thing about it.

Great hotel.

This hotel is exactly the experience we were looking for in Innsbruck. The staff was so friendly and VERY helpful. It was quaint and comfortable. Easily walkable to river and shopping. Would stay again most definitely if we return to Insbruck.

Really helpful staff, especially for the lady at the reception desk (young, brown hair, large smile). We asked for extra pillows and ahe went to get them right away and came back with a huge smile. The location is perfect, near all the main landmarks. The room was well equippdd and cozy. I would go there again.

Good location. Nice hotel. The only down side was the bathroom fan that kept turning on itself and not turning off. I went to bed with it off and woke up in the morning and it was on somehow

Great breakfast and service!

The Hotel Schwarz Adler is a lovely place with a warm staff. We were welcomed warmly by the receptionist who was able to get us right into a room even though we were hours early. They were so helpful in directing us about how to park the car and where everything was. The room was spacious, with an outdoor terrace. Not the prettiest view but we did have a mountain behind us. the bed was comfortable an large. Double beds here are really the size of a large queen bed. The breakfast buffet was the biggest and most plentiful that we've seen and we've seen quite a few now. It is located in the basement level which has a beautiful cave like feel but is bright and warm. There is also a laundry on site that you can use if you like. Great stay!

Good location and nice staff . My issue was the promoted air conditioning that they advertised. This is not accurate as you cannot control the air conditioning. When warm (every day/evening) so you have to open the windows. The noise is unbearable (even from the 4th floor) from the bars below (open to past midnight) and traffic, They know this as they provide a box of ear plugs. They should not advertise “air conditioning “.

We were lucky to receive a room upgrade. Very stylish room but unfortunately on two levels with spiral staircase between bedroom and bathroom. This was difficult during the night. Otherwise, central location in Innsbruck was very handy.

Helpful advice, friendly staff

The hotel is a beautiful old master of its day, but a little tired. It could use some upgrades to carpets and paint. The breakfast room in the cellar was beautiful & elegant! The staff was simply stellar! The room they assigned was too noisy (super busy street!) so they very graciously made a change for us to a quiet room - with a sweet little balcony. Great size room and bathroom with fluffy towels and good bed. A refrigerator would have been really nice. The ‘service’ room Is brilliant! You can help yourself to plates, silverware, glasses, ice and even a washer and dryer. Their rooftop is open for lounging or watching the stars.

Great hotel very close the the old town and to the gondola that goes up the mountain above Innsbruck. Many excellent restaurants nearby. We’re definitely coming back.

Our room was delightful. Very spacious and comfortable. Great location

For the price, room was small and lacked the full complement of amenities. Cheap body wash and hair cleanser products. No creamer for coffee in the room. No bathtub. Limited television options and a very small television. Toilet paper dispensed two squares at a time versus a roll. Room was nice and clean though. Parking arrangement inconvenient as you couldn’t come from the garage into the hotel. Instead you had to lug all your bags up from the garage to the Main Street where people walk by and sit outside at tables and smoke and gawk at you walking the 50 meters. When asked about parking availability before check in, no one guided us through that process or forewarned the conditions. Breakfast and the staff involved with it were fantastic! Checkout staff were very helpful explaining the parking exiting procedures. Despite some of the positives, we wouldn’t come back even at a lower price.

Awesome staff and stay!

Good stay, nice location, very easily accessible to the local old town and restaurants. Quiet at night. Parking was easy. air conditioning was FABULOUS. Took a point off for cleanliness as our shower had some soap scum / mold build up and the sink as well but the rest of the room was perfectly clean as was the main hotel.

The hotel was great - with one word of caution specific to the room we were in and perhaps some others. There was a step down inside room 117 and a step up to the bathroom my wife fell into the room once and I tripped over the stair that protruded into the room - neither of us was injured. The rest - room, staff, breakfast, etc were great.

A nice place to stay - we enjoyed the subtle care taken on many things that ensured this experience was an amazing time in Innsbruck Spacious rooms / heated bathroom tiles / amenities in the room / service area for laundry and vending machine / the roof is a great place to relax Brilliant hotel - a must recommend

Excellent Hotel

Excellent hotel. Room and bathroom had been refurbished recently. Bed linen and towels good quality and replaced very often..Air Con was excellent which was needed as temperature was 30-33 degrees mid June.the hotel was in an excellent position in the town centre,5mins to old town and restaurants.10 mins to bus/tram and trains . We had a problem with the safe, which took a while to be seen only to find that it couldn't be repaired which was not resolved during our week long stay.

This is a charming hotel within walking distance to Old Town. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and polite. Nadine was particularly helpful with information about services available prior to our arrival.

Clean and convenient location.

Our stay here was incredible. As Expedia users, we were given an upgrade to the Kaiser Maximilian I Suite, complete with hunting lodge ambience. Full of historic significance and wonderful views of the Alps. Staff were charming and assisted us very well on our two day travel plans. The breakfast room and service was excellent Austrian fare. All the major sites were in walking distance. We will come back someday! :)

Nice Hotel - very friendly staff and excellent Bar

Absolutely LOVED our stay in Innsbruck! The staff was amazing. They organized an early morning taxi to the train station and packed us breakfast because we had to leave before the breakfast room opened. The packed so much food for us we snacked on it for 2 days! The hotel is beautiful with a great view of the mountains. It was centrally located and easy to walk to everything. If I get back to Innsbruck I will definitely stay here again!

Highly recommend! My daughter and I stayed 3 nights, and were very happy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable!! Slept really well. The hotel itself is less than a ten minute walk from the station and the same distance to the old town. I would stay again!

Was told off for turning up 15 minutes before we were told breakfast ended.

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Innsbruck. The location is close to the Aldstadt (5min walking). The rooms were spacious and modern, and the staff kindly gave us a complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony. Overall, highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

A gem in Innsbruck!

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They loaned us large umbrellas, made suggestions for dinner and helped to charge up a phone. The room was spacious and very clean. Our was on the 5th floor and had a bathtub with a hand held. But the hose on the hand held shower didn't allow for us to shower (we're tall). This historic hotel is perfectly situated to visit the old town and has parking next door.

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The best so far in Europe, and for the price very good value. The hotel is located in a great location, near everything in Innsbruck. Walkable to the train station and Aldstadt. The best part is the design of the hotel, it's an old medieval building that still has remnants of the past (heavy wooden doors, pillars, etc.) But has been completely renovated recently. Very large and spacious rooms. One of the best parts is the breakfast, which takes place in the basement where you go through an old door and staircase into a cool room. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to use the sauna, but wish we did. The only negative I can think of is the bathroom didn't seem to have a fan so the room was humid after showering. Outstanding hotel overall.
