Lovely stay
The staff were wonderful - helped with our limited Spanish and were so patient with us. Booked a second night and they were so accommodating. The room was lovely and clean and breakfast was delicious! Location was super central and they kept our bags for us after check out which was really appreciated
I always try to stay here when I'm in cartegena. Wonderful staff
The place is cheap and horrible. The lady who is in charge of the hotel was very unprofessional. AC doesn’t work and most of the rooms. The hotel is a disaster. I won’t recommend anybody.
Great central location, staff wonderful, property good value.
It is not a typical three star hotel in america. But I loved the experience. Definitely buy the most expensive room. But you're close to everything in the historic old city. The stuff is extremely helpfull. If you're looking for luxury that's not your place. If you are looking for authenticity I would highly recommend it.
This hotel has charm. But it was just a little too rustic for us. There was no soap in the washroom, only one towel for two people, the toilet didn’t work properly and no bedspread (although we found a very thin blanket like you’d use for airplane travel). The toilet was right under the sink so you have to feel around in the 1” gap to flush. It would have been helpful to indicate that there is no elevator. There was a nice balcony outside our room, accessible from the hall. Unfortunately, our room faces onto the street so while it had a great view into the neighbourhood, it was a little loud. We ended up checking into another hotel, and were told to contact the manager via WhatsApp, which we did a few days ago. But it’s been crickets ever since.
The first night we had a room not exactly as advertised off of the main lobby. It smelled of humidity and cleaning solution and the smell did not leave. We requested another room immediately and we were accommodated to a room upstairs (more as advertised) for second night. Rooms quite basic and small but what we needed. Breakfast ok. And we were greeted with drinks. So some plus and minus. Staff accommodating. Overall ok.
The best hotel in Minca
Premium location
Just had another great stay. Excellent staff.
I've stayed here before. Very friendly staff. Very clean, and the location is awesome.
Friendly staffs with excellent location
Great oasis with excellent location. Friendly staff
Muy cordial la gente y lindo el hotel.
Great stay
Amazing location, perfect value for money, excellent staf. Wifi is great, airconditioning good, warm showers.
Centrally located. Everything is close by. Clothing stores in front and to the left and right of the property. Grocery store at the corner (30 second walk). Bell tower 4 blocks away. Very safe and touristy area. Free breakfast in the morning. WiFi and air conditioning is perfect. Bed and shower are good. To be in the heart of it all at such an excellent price makes it even better! I will be back soon!
Great place and location. Everyone was so kind and helpful, breakfast was delicious. There’s AC in the room and it was lifesaving.
Staff is super nice and helpful. Rooms are quite but I would rate this hotel 2 Star due to my own experience.
They have hot water and a good breakfast that is included. Good location. Very economical
Not a clean housekeeping
It was a nice property, could use a bit of a cleaning, and we didn’t have any toilet paper. However staff were very friendly and area was safe, would stay here again for the price
We had a wonderful stay of 2 nights. We had a room with 2 single beds which were the most comfortable in all our 3 weeks in Colombia! Breakfasts were good, there was a choice of pancakes or eggs. We really appreciated that when we arrived at check in, they gave us each a big glass of cold juice and after our long travels it was just what we needed. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Located in the heart of the action, there is a huge grocery store (Exito) a 3 minute walk away. It is about a 12 minute walk to the Clock tower and historical center. Although the room was on the small side, it had everything we needed. Great value for the price paid.
They CANCELLED my booking for no valid reason.
Booked 4nights only for them to cancel them for no reason at the very last minute. I selected the pay at location option and they said it was because of a credit card issue? which is irrelevant because a cc wasnt necessary until arrival. I had a booking confirmation and everything through hotels. I had to book another hotel that night on route to Cartagena and am now out over doubt my initial budget for accomodation. Id save yourself the potential headache. im a chill easy going backpacker but this was totally unacceptable.
You gotta love la ciudad amurallada!
Excellent location and economical. Camila and victor gave exceptional service. I will go back the next time I am in Cartegena.
Highly recommend
Very nice place to stay! We will be staying with then again when we are back in Cartagena. Only thing we did not like is that our room was across from the front desk and the breakfast area so it was hard to sleep.
Excellent for the money
It was in a Good location and close to everything
Very nice hotel
The room was filthy, the sheets were strained and there were hairs on the pillowcases. When we asked for new sheets, the staff gave us more stained sheets that did not fit the bed, twice. There were dead bug remains on the walls and a cockroach in the bathroom.
La estadía fue muy placentera, sitio cercano a todos los sitios para visitar. El único inconveniente es que hay horas en las que el ruido de los vehículos incomoda para dormir.
Had a big cockroach crossing on my bed. Also breakfast was small portion. But the location of the hotel is very convenient.
Good place to be. Very nice staff
We’ve stayed there twice. The 1st time was perfect. Very quiet, which is the most important thing for me in this area, and everything worked. This time we paid a little more for the “suite” and there was no water in the shower, and definitely no hot water. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s on the top (3rd) floor, but I read other reviews that said the same. So they need to fix that. Otherwise it was quiet and the a/c blows cold.
We had NO hot water! We were on the 3rd floor. When it rained at night, there was water all over the floor. It was not worth $2 per night nevermind $85. Walk up 3 floors. Don’t stay there!
Now that I’ve stayed at multiple places in Cartagena, I can tell you that a quiet hotel is the most important thing to look for. This is a very basic hotel, so don’t expect much, But it’s the first time in weeks I’ve slept through the night. The shower was hot, you just have to let it warm up a while. The drapes made the room dark, and the a/c was super cold. Just a few minute walk to tons of restaurants and bars, but the noise stays down there. Trust me, you want a quiet hotel. Stay here.
No frills establishment.
First of all, lets be clear.if you are looking for luxury move on. This is a cute old hotel in the heart of the old city, plenty of places to eat, drink, visit. Rooms are ok, tv, shower, AC. Cannot complain as the price is very reasonable.
Good location, reasonable cost. The staff is always ready to help
Located in great area, very nice hotel with nice friendly staff and very avarage, standard rooms
Cute little hotel run by females, clean, location is amazing, shops right at your doorstep. For an older hotel I would still recommend as it's location is great and price is amazing.
We like the check in and check out was easy and fast. 24 hr accesability. They will hold your bags until it is time for our flight. The wifi was ok for emails and phone calls. Otherwise we will stay there again.king side Bed was comfortable even thought it was two twins bed together. On the plus side we liked are our individual beds.
I enjoyed my stay, it was everything we needed for a very reasonable price. Excellent location and we felt very safe. The room was small and the bathroom was small but it was private which is what I wanted. The room was clean, infront of reception which was a little loud but noise doesn’t bother us.
Not what's in the pictfures
It's a construction site, wear a mask to avoid concrete dust. Earplugs probably won't be enough to drown out the hammering and concrete chiseling in the rooms around you.
I think they should change the doorbell. The receptionist needs to know that somebody wants to come in but the guests don't need to. I found old soap in the shower and my sheets were stained. My room was often too warm or too cold, no matter how I adjusted the AC. The location is fantastic and the breakfast was good.
I do not recommend this hotel. The photos are misleading and was not what we got on room # 410. Even though we made the reservation 3 month in advance, we did not get the room that it was agreed on, which included small fridge. Huge disappointment, no hot water, no internet, broken glass shower door, no window, no fridge, etc. When we asked to get the room we agreed on they force us to pay additional room rate OR they give us the money back @ 8.00 pm which was insane and unprofessional offer… This was a perfect example of “bait and swith”! We just got to Cartagena and now do you think we have to get the bag and look for a new hotel late in the day in a new unknow town??? Shame on the night staff. Lesson learn… if you decide to make a reservation in this hotel or any other, “MAKE SURE YOU ALSO KNOW THE ROOM NUMBER THEY WILL GIVE YOU BEFORE CLOSING THE DEAL”
Maintenance
Not what expected
Feels like home , very professional staff.
Conditions and cleanliness are quite poor. It needs a refurbishment
Good location! Actually that was the main reason why I booked it. Bathroom too small, I had trouble showering, shaving, etc. Sliding shower door broken. I was supposed to get VIP perks which I didn’t. They told me my room didn’t include free breakfast but they gave it to me anyway
Nice location, nice staff...noisy, onnoxious, inconsiderate other guests...
Great choice for the price
Hospitality, Location & Amenities all A+
Girlfriend and I were extremely happy with the hospitality, the location and the room itself. i would definitely recommend this location to friends and family going to cartagena. me and my girlfriend enjoyed how we could just walk out our hotel and and enjoy a peaceful walk with a plentiful selection for shopping and places to eat. i myself would definitely be happy staying here on future Cartagena visits.
Old town charm
I did like the location. He can walk a lot there. I do not like being charged to have a visitor. That is a unnecessary
Friends trip
Stayed only one night! Nice little hotel boutique in the walled city with everything within walking distance! Restaurants, pharmacy, shopping. The Staff very friendly and ready to help!
Solo Stay
The hotel was very responsive to any questions. It also felt safe because you needed to be buzzed in and out. However, there were stains on sheets, pillows and towels when I arrived. There were also bugs throughout the room. It’s unfortunate because it’s such a great location. But you get what you pay for.
Great area with very friendly and helpful staff
Great located and great attention
Excellent hotel, staff and service. Cleaning staff is extremely thorough.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged for a pre-departure required COVID test to be performed on-site at the hotel, at a very reasonable price, which was great. They provided great recommendations for sightseeing. Also, this hotel is located within a walking distance from a supermarket, ATMs, and a fine cigar shop.
Good location in old town.
The room was clean and centrally located in old town. The breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent
Liked the breakfast was inexpensive, staff was kind and helpful. The room itself was small and looked a bit outdated and not super clean. Hotel could use updating.
Great hotel for solo female traveler
Great hotel for a solo female traveler. They have security cameras everywhere, there's a 24-hour service front desk and the front door you have to be buzzed in so only Hotel guests are allowed in and out of the hotel. Its a perfect location about two or three blocks away from the party streets but still far enough where you can get a nice quiet sleep at night. For breakfast they offer fruit coffee and juice everyday and then your main meal can be scrambled eggs or another option usually local cuisine. The Exito, which is a supermarket, is literally 75 ft down the street and is so convenient to stock up on juices and waters for the mini fridge in your room.
Such an awesome little Hotel...!!! Very intimate and classy... The staff was friendly and respectful... The Street View is everything and the PRICE IS THE BEST IN TOWN...!!! Please don’t bring your kids but if you have to bring them,,,they should be old enough to understand that this is a grown up area on the busy part of town near all the shops and vendors... At Night after 7:00pm on weekdays it’s really quite and a good place to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the warm tropical air... The Breakfast was ok for the included price You CAN’T beat it!!! FRESH FOOD FRESH FRESH EVERYTHING IN CARTAGENA!!!! The Hotel is RIGHT NEAR THE CLOCK TOWER AND LOCATED IN A VERY CONVENIENT PART OF TOWN... Don’t smoke weed in the room if it’s kids in staying at the hotel... THE MANAGER WILL HOLLA AT YOU in a nice way...!!! LoL The place was everything and more than what I expected... I will definitely only stay here whenever in Cartagena ...!!! Don’t get caught up on attempting to purchase “GOOD HOTELS” because ALL OF THE SERVICE AND FOOD IS THE SAME FROM THE “BEST” to the “WORST”... In Cartagena don’t eat STEAKor Beef just EAT SEAFOOD, PORK AND CHICKEN... They don’t have cow breeding down packed as of yet the cows was skinny and the farm owner told my Girlfriend that they get the cows fat in November with corn feed and grains... If YOU ARE A SINGLE GUY YES YES YES THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU...!!! At this Hotel THE WORKERS DIDN’T MIND IF I HAD COMPANY... Tell in advance that You will have comp
Poor people
Not so much the hotel, but the begging and street peddlers are a problem. No hot water,
Great location at excellent price
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and loved the area. Bed and pillows were comfortable. AC was cool enough. Our only complaint would be very little hot water. Cute little boutique hotel in an excellent location with proximity to atm, food, drinks, groceries, shopping, etc.
The staff was incredibly kind and resourceful! Breakfast was great and had an american and colombian option every morning. The only downside was the street outside is a bit loud but usually calms down around 9–10pm.
Friendly staff, nice room. Hot water took a while to come in the shower.
Great, convenient location in the historic centre with a secure entrance. Staff are super: very friendly and helpful for all guest needs. Good breakfast. Nice small hotel.
Clean property with a great breakfast. Good air conditioning. Good beds.
Our first room was on the second floor but my wife had trouble going up the stairs. The second day they moved us to the first floor which was much easier for her. The main thing that was not up to par was the size of the bathrooms.
Walled city
From check in to check out the service was great. Decent breakfast for the price of the stay. Room was small but great for 1 person. AC definitely worked great. Location was good as there was a grocery store at the corner. Lots of amazing restaurants around.
Hotel Santa Alejandria, Cartagena: Nice hotel, in Old City; quiet. Simple breakfast. Helpful reception. Very functional air conditioner, which was a big bonus in the hot & humid Cartagena. Many restaurants, shops & vendors around.
It's a restored historical house, the room was little but comfortable, the attention was really good
Tiny bathroom with the basin on top of the toilet.
Great location close to everything. I stayed in a room that I could hear all noises from the street
Near center of the city, very clean and great breakfast
Everything. The employees they were very helpful .
Attentive staff, and the little things like refilling my water bottle and late checkout. The bathroom was really cramped and really hard to use!!
The staff are very friendly and will help you in any way they can. The bedroom was a little dull and the sink area was in a tight space. Overall, I had a nice experience because the staff make all the difference.
Ended up staying here because of a last minute change of plans and I was extremely happy with my decision. The hotel is very clean, the staff were excellent to help me out with booking further transport and also locking up my luggage prior to check in and post check out. The location is great it’s right in the middle of everything in the walled city. Highly recommend!
Service and staff were fantastic. Location was good for the price. The room itself was disappointing though; the King size bed (two twin mattresses) was simply too large for the room and made it feel quite cramped. The AC was ok, but in the heat of Cartegena it didn't keep the room as cool or comfortable as other hotels in the city.
They treated me like family, what else can you say? It’s nice to be taken care of
It was a very nice facility. The food was good. The staff was excellent. I did not like the gate being locked at all times. Many times it was locked with a padlock. I felt like a prisoner. It was hard to come and go as you please. I have been to many hotels in Cartagena. Mostly la Boca Grande. I do not care much for the walled City. It's very hot. I prefer the island. Many taxi drivers do not know where this hotel is located. I actually had to show them where
Better places to stay for the money.
The first night we had room 202. It was so narrow It was hard to open the suitcase and we had no where to put things. I had to lay my suitcase on the folding "seat" and use it as a table. The next night we had 205. Much bigger bed and room to open both suitcases. And ample places to put things. However the bathroom was smaller than a broom closet. Not comfortable to go to the bathroom or have a shower. Another thing is when they say they have "hot water" I never experienced anything more than lukewarm sun warmed water. For my CAD$ 60/night booking I was disappointed. However the breakfast was good and staff great.
It’s an ok Hotel, good value for the price and inside the walled city.
Great hotel!!
The hotel staff was AMAZING!! They went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful one. Helped us with taxis, tours, map to get around, recommendations. The room was comfortable, the bathroom a bit small but everything was clean. Safe area, close to tourist spots, restaurants, and really close to a supermarket with ATM.
Delightful small hotel in walled City
Lovely cooked to order breakfast in courtyard. Staff most helpful arranging transportation.
Sometimes you get the best room in the hotel and sometimes you don't. Our ground floor room was very small and dark, as there was no exterior window. Also, the room had an overpowering odor of perfume due to to a solid air room freshener (which I removed). The balcony on the second floor is a great place to watch the action in the street below. The location in Old Town is excellent.
Great breakfast! , daily fruit plate and everyday a different kind of Colombian style breakfast. A good deal for the amount of money we paid. Facilities are cleaned. Staff were very nice and helpful, with a nice daily smile, happy to assist people. Location is ok...it doesn’t look very safe after 9:00PM
Great place in town!
This hotel was great for the days we spent in Cartagena. Clean and comfortable. It's close to almost everything in town and surprisingly quiet in the evenings.
This was my boyfriend and my first trip to Colombia and we were so glad we chose this hotel! It was very centrally located, right in the old walled city , about one block from a massive supermarket with nothing in town more than a 7 minute walk away. The room itself was very nice with a huge bed that we enjoyed. There was also a great shared balcony on the floor that we enjoyed going to each evening and looking out onto the bustling street. One of our favorite things was the free breakfast every morning - besides that it was awesome including eggs, fried plantains, toast, fruits , cereal and more, we loved that there were only one or two tables so all the hotel guests (there are only 12 or 13 rooms total) would eat together so it was a great way to get to know the other guests and make friends . We met guests from El savador, Argentina, America, you name it! We also really appreciated that the hotel staff were so friendly and spoke English really well, so they were incredibly helpful with directions, questions, etc. The hotel is clean and beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it!
Recommended!
Fantastic location, very noce and attentive staff, clean.
