very clean nice bed recommended
Friendly staff, comfortable room, tasty and varied breakfast. The only issue we had is that it was inconvenient to have to enter WiFi login information almost every time we wanted to access the internet.
Property is too old, needs renovation
This property is exactly as described It is a nice walk to the old town
Front desk staff were accommodating, but not overly friendly. I think language barrier was a factor … limited English speaking. Positives of hotel was the cleanliness, great breakfast & location. Walking distance to center & only 1 block to train station!! Big negative was our “studio” was not part of hotel & it was across the street 1 block which was not mentioned on Expedia. Breakfast not included in rate. Although good security, it felt a little unsafe at night. Room was large & spacious, but no coffee maker. Needed some drywall repair.
Very rude staff. Room extremely warm. Elevators go only part way and you have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. Not much good to say except it was clean.
Tik tok sound in wall of room throughout the night made sleep difficult
Nice location.
Two nights in Trieste
Easy check in. Room fine, bed firm. Decent shower. Good location, easy access to train station/easy to find. Good range of options at breakfast. Ample charging sockets.
Stairs for disabilities
Nice practical place to stay. Well located
We were centrally located to grand canal. Beautiful place and Alan was exceptional towards us
Small tiny rooms
The AC was barely adequate - never cooled the room down. Roma is safe, clean, close to public transportation. Cafe's, bistros etc. are walkable. Staff at the hotel were very helpful. I'd happily stay there again.
Très bien
On a resté pour 1 jour. Bien installer, proche du train. La chambre propre. La salle de bain propre. Frigo faible.
Great location. Less than 5 minute walk from the train station and just about 10 minute walk to the grand canal. Room was very nice, clean with a big bathroom!
Perfect hotel for stay prior to cruising!
Cappuccino anyone!
Great location near train station. Lovely breakfast!
Beautiful yet affordable
Very clean. Good location. Comfortable
Convenient location for 1 night stay
Easy walk to train station and canal area with many restaurants. Room was small and bathroom very small.
Only real issues were poor light protection on one of the windows and noise from other rooms and maids. They gave me a high floor room in the rear. If you stay on the street side it may be noisy. There is bus stop right below.
Great location
Great location convenient to train station. Good breakfast and helpful staff
Excellent staff and nice room and excellent breakfast.
Staff were always helpful and cleaning staff were awesome. Bus stop right outside door and piazza is walking distance. Loved the breakfast couldnt fault it for 3 star hotel. Only negative was that I had to ask for tea and coffee facilities. Would stay again.
Location, friendly staff.
Beware when booking a room! What this hotel does not advertise a that there is probability that you will be placed across the street, 1/2 block away from the actual hotel and in a run down apartment complex. This was not indicated in the description of the studio. When given the key and instructions on where the location of and how to enter the apt complex-when asked why, the front desk personnel rudely and abruptly dismissed our concerns. Not wanting to argue as it was late, we proceeded across the street. Needless to say, the amenities advertised and described such as free breakfast, bar area, etc. are not amenities accessible in the apt. complex. Furious we paid over 300.00 for two nights for what was one big scam!
Good place for one night, walking distance from the bus central station and the grand canal
Good value, location , breakfast, and air conditioning
The staff is polite and helpful and the breakfast was nice. I loved the location of the hotel. It is close to the train and bus stations as well as the pharmacy and stores where one can shop. The Port is not that far away either. I walked to the Port with my luggage. I did not like that the elevators do not go to your floor. I had to lift my luggage down the stairs to my room. There was no bellhop to assist. The room was clean and smelt fresh. The showers are too tiny. A big person would not be able to shower comfortably there. I think that the mattresses should be upgraded, mine was sunken in the middle.
It was good!
The property was an excellent choice for the one night we were in Trieste waiting for our cruise
I booked a room for 4 people with two big beds. Unfortunately, when we got into the room, we had 2 single beds, one single couch where you cannot extend your feet because of the type of couch and one single like a hospital put together bed. I asked the staff to switch rooms but they refused. I told them they have false marketing and if I knew this, I would have never reserved a room at their hotel.
good location close to the train station, although traffic is a bit noisy
Minutes away from the Central Train station. Clean and quiet.
Ill be back!
A comfortable stay, slept very well and greeted each day with breakfast in a cute dining room, will stay again
Close to train station and walking distance to waterfront. Noisy!
Unaffected hotel reasonably priced and clean
Really clean. Street-noisy but effective double glazing. Excellent shower. Great location. Comfy beds.
Location very convenient, room very well maintained. Breakfast adequate but very basic at best
Small room good service.
I was surprised to find that the elevator didn't stop at the actual floor. It stopped midway between the floors. The room was the smallest room I've stayed in for all of my European trip.
Inexpensive, clean, comfortable room. Staff very pleasant.
Convenient location, stylish decor, spotlessly clean. The stairs could do with a revamp but otherwise the hotel was excellent value for mobey.
Good location
Friendly staff, good location, walking distance to most places of interest. The room was very comfortable.
Spacious apartment style room
Chose the apartment room which is across the street from the lobby. Very spacious and comfortable. Good deal for the price. Staff very nice and helpful.
Very difficult older man at reception.
It’s an Ok hotel. Good location. Might have been happier with our stay if we hadn’t encountered the older man in reception. He would not check us in because we would not leave our passports with him for several hours. We suggested he take the details but he only wanted the originals. We could have given him notarised copies. He could have offered luggage storage or wifi but no. He also said we would have to wait till 3pm even though our booking said check in at 2pm because of the passports. However while we were waiting the shift changed and he left. When we noticed other people being checked in with no issues with ID supplied, we tried again and the younger man checked us in straight away , no issues , and prior to 3pm. So would not stay again or recommend it.
Nice hotel close to train station
I enjoyed my stay of one night. The hotel is ideally situated between the train station and the bustlin, beautiful Trieste city center. It is very easy to get to/from the train station. The center of Trieste is also just a short walk away in the other direction. The hotel personals are friendly. My apartment room has a great view.
Trieste stopover
Stopover in Trieste while travelling around Italy. Hotel 2 minute walk from Train station and 5 minute to sea-front. English speaking staff.
Nice hotel
The room very nice, spacious and clean. Breakfast was includedand gpod. The location was perfect. But the staff really have to work hard in their attitud, And this apply for all of the hotels in Italy. Venetians were the worse. There is a little restaurant by the grand canal the attention was awesome is called la delizia.
I will book it again
Perfect stay
Hotel Roma is Perfect.
Hotel Roma was the perfect place to stay, rooms were a delight, breakfast was perfect.... Overall added to thr experience of Trieste.
Flying visit
We only stayed one night as were passing through Trieste. Ideal for us as very close to bus and train station and the big hotel sign made it really easy to spot in the dark. Staff were very good nut told us we would be staying opposite in an anex. We where taken over and shown door codes etc. The room was basic but ideal for one night. Breakfast wad in the main building and again was basic but fine. All in all worth what it cost. 10 min walk to main square and lots' of bars etc on the way.We found a small restaurant called Santi around the corner from the hotel, menu was spoken as changes daily but worked out cheap and staff ( a family ) excellent. Would go again.
Handy for the centre. Good base for sightseeing
Hotel Roma apartments were clean and modern however basic in facilities. Also very noisy due to its location.
Convenient location, decent condition and bfst
Good value for money. Helpful, if not overly ebullient, staff. Short walk from centrale train and bus stations. Maybe 15 minute walk to the main square (Pizza Unita d'Italia) via the waterfront; 10 minutes if one takes a more direct route. No decent, credible, food joints immediately adjacent, but, as above, the main square and all of the surrounding cafes, etc. is a short walk away.
Excellent base for town and the station.
I'm always a bit wary of hotels near stations as they can often be noisy and shabby. Hotel Roma was neither of those. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful, the room comfortable and the breakfast very good for the overall price. It is a short walk to the centre of town and very handy for those needing to get to the station, a matter of a five minute walk. We'd definitely use this hotel again if we needed to stay in Trieste.
Good hotel,good loacation!
We were at the residence part.We are very pleased and pleasantly surprised
Hotel was well placed. A good budget stay. Room was large and comfortable.
Great location
5 minutes get to everything, the bus stop just at the door step.
Great deal in Trieste
couldn't use the safe as it was locked, told desk but they did nothing about it. Hair dryer didn't work. Breakfast was very good. Room was very nice and air conditioning worked. Location was excellent. Easy to get anywhere on foot or on a bus. WiFi was not great. No English channels on TV
Nice hotel near the train and bus stations
A reasonable hotel but far from the centre and near to the stations. Would recommend for a short stay.
Good location
Great location but there was a hotel staff member at the front desk who was very arrogant.
Comfortable apartment
Plenty of room for two. Good breakfast. Close to main train station. Our apartment was across the road from the actual hotel where Reception is located and breakfast is served
The hotel was conveniently located and very clean, but there was a unpleasant smell in the room. Don't know if it was from the air-conditioning or cleaning products used. (We did not use the air conditioner). Could not keep the window open at night due to the street noise. I have stayed there on other occasions and everything was fine.
good value, great location
conveniently located traditional hotel. Great service, clean, comfortable, would stay again
Excellent stay
Amazing hotel rooms, breakfast and staff . So nice to be close to train and bus station.
A Very Pleasant Stay
Excellent value for money hotel that combines adequate accommodation with really good service and super breakfast.
Great location Grest staff
Had a great stay in this centrally located hotel. The manager was kind enough to let us check in early as we had arrived by bus from Vienna. Great breakfast. Great location as we could walk to the port for our cruise.
Very close to the station, nice and kind staff
Quite clean and nice hotel. Kind staff lots of space.
Perfect location between station and main square
Nice hotel with good, friendly service. Good location, spatious room in good condition, a small fridge, good bathroom. Good breakfast.
pd
tremendous
HOTEL ROMA
EVERYTHING WAS GOOD ABOUT THIS HOTEL THE STAFF WERE EXTREMLY HELPFUL AND VERY FRIENDLY ROOM WAS EXCELLENT , CLEAN AND A VERY GOOD SIZE THE BREAKFAST WAS A BUFFET , MAYBE THEY COULD SOME HOT FOOD LIKE SCRAMBLED EGGS BUT THE COLD BUFFET WAS SUBSTANTIAL AND THERE WAS NO SHORTAGES. THE COFFEE WAS VERY GOOD AND THE BREAKFAST ROOM WAS A GOOD SIZE, VERY SMART AND IMMACULATE WOULD RECOMMEND THE HOTEL
Good and comfortable hotel
The hotel was very comfortable with friendly staff. My room was a bit small but very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located near to the train and bus stations and within walking distance of the sea front and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to friends.
Hôtel correct
A bit d'Athènes but perfect my correct And adequate
Trieste central
Good place for a night stay, room are very small. good central location
Very good
It was very good stay
Not a comfortable place to be.
The worst hotel i been so far in Italy. Only the first day I had sanitary plastic glasses, I used them and they were never replaced, Two regular glasses were never replaced by clean ones. Bed was really uncomfortable with pillow about 2 high . Hotel should be a one star hotel not three stars..
nice hotel
5 star nice staff help full have been twice and would use again nice new breakfast room
Great location! Hotel very outdated. Staff unpleasant. Would not stay here again.
Very small shower cabin and poor wifi reception
Very small shower cabin, not comfort beds, bad wifi reception, clean, nice staff
Reasonable hotel for the price
As a single traveller this hotel suited me perfectly. Close to the bus station and train station and a 15 minute walk to the town centre. Facilities were just adequate but the staff were really nice and helpful. Trieste is a great place and definitely worth visiting.
Quiet hotel within easy access of main sights.
Quiet hotel located close to rail/coach station when travelling from airport. Also only a 15 minute walk from central sights and harbour front. A good base for seeing Trieste therefore.
Strange bath and impossible to shower.
Opposite the train and bus station. The bath is tiny and impossible to use because it has a step in it - never seen that before. I had a shower and it was incredibly awkward and difficult. I had to stand in a very strange position because so tiny. Would not stay in this room again. Also lifts goes to 3rd floor only so had to drag my suitcase up to the 4 th floor.
Extremely comfortable and well located
I didn't stay in their rooms. They also have apartments under the same hotel name. They are quite complete; living room, dinning room, separate bedroom, bathroom, closet, safety box, complete kitchen with stove, fridge, dishes, utensils and all.. Quite close to points of interest. Less than 8 minutes, walking distance, from city centre.. The building is a bit dated, but rooms/apts. are in great condition.
Holiday in Trieste
We were early so we went to the hotel to see if we could leave our bags but as our room was ready the female receptionist allowed us to check in before 2.00 pm which meant we wonder around without our cases. Majority of staff friendly and helpful except for the person on reception on Wednesday night. The member of waiting staff at breakfast was nice and thoughtful. Air conditioning in room was good and really needed because it was hot weather. Went to Koper in Slovenia, by bus for the day, which was good. Took about 45 minutes.
Well located hotel for my walkabouts.
Four night break to get a feel of the place and visit some of the main sights. Also a fair amount of eating, drinking and people watching.
Wouldn't recommend
Just a quick nights stay. You get what you pay for this hotel. Some of the rooms are a little nicer, but overall I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. The beds were so uncomfortable and hard, my boyfriend and I couldn't sleep. There is free breakfast in the morning which consists of coffee, bread, spreads, cheese and yogurt.
Well located, friendly staff
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and our room was ready early. It was within easy walking distance of the train station and the central part of town. However, there was a tour group staying and the breakfast room size could not handle the number of people at the one time. We would recommend this hotel.
Close to train and bus station but....
The hotel is very close to the bus and train station. But since I came in early autumn, they switched off the airconditioning and the result? Room is so hot and I was not able to sleep. I reported to the receptionist but he couldn't help me. I asked for an electric fan but they don't have. Instead of helping me, they advised me instead to open the windows. The noise outside was intolerable and I had a sleepless night. I stayed there for 4 nights with no help whatsoever being offered. The staff are rude and they don't listen to their guests.
Train Station hotel
Not a bad place. It has a dormitory atmosphere with gloomy lighting in the halls, however. Internet did not work in the rooms, unfortunately. This hotel is close to the train station and feels like a train station hotel. But no problems. Though it claimed to have parking, the parking is in the train station a few blocks away (and it's not cheap).
great location for travelers
Nice old hotel, clean and very comfortable beds. New bathroom with great shower. Only complaint is internet did not work in the room, but wifi signal was strong in the lobby. Breakfast was excellent, good selection and great coffee.
Correct hotel
nothing specific, this hotel has nothing special to notify
Basic and clean
The Roma was very basic but clean with an adequate breakfast. It is a walk up half a floor since elevators stop only between floors. Definitely not handicapped accessible or for those with heavy luggage. We stayed because we were led to believe that it had an airport shuttle to the Trieste airport. It does NOT. The Trieste airport is a 50 minute bus trip away after a 10 minute walk to the bus station navigating heavy traffic. Again basic and clean.
Nice clean dowtown hotel
Not the best neighborhood, but super close walking distance to follow n and nice nightspots. Quiet and clean, nice free breakfast.
Dont stop at this hotel
Parking 1/2 a mile from Hotel. Bedroom was on the other side if a busy street with a small slow lift. Bed was a most uncomfortable Put you up . Our friends bedroom was very small. The breakfast room was far to small for the number of guests.
Close to bus station
Room air conditioner did not work, maintenance never fixed. Close to bus stations and taxi stations.
Location is only a few minutes walk from the café/restaurants area. It is also close to the bus station. The breakfast was fine for a quick bite in the morning. I found the beds very soft and not comfortable but it did for a 1 night stay.
newly refurbished rooms
The Hotel Roma is very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful, our rooms had obviously just been refurbished to a very high standard and it was conveniently situated for all the mail sights of the city as well as being very close to the railway station. The only negative comment is that both the hotel website and the hotel leaflet that we picked up while we were there stated that the hotel has a bar where you can enjoy 'a refreshing drink or and after dinner cocktail' in fact the bar served only soft drinks that you had to ask at reception for. Apart from this, the hotel was wonderful and I would stay there again.
Affordable, clean, good location
Good hotel for business traveler. Close to central train station and a 15 euro taxi ride to dry docks.
Perfectly Adequate
Booked this hotel last minute. Room was spacious and clean, service good and location great.
Hotel Roma | Hotel in Trieste | Travala.com
A nice old fashion hotel just blocks from the train station and near Via Roma, a street that leads you to the heart of Trieste. Wonderful staff; from the gentlemen behind the front desk to the lovely lady who tidied our room daily.
