A lovely staff that takes good care of its guests.
A special thank you to Marie, who helped us with a fan which was on 24/7. She was amazing. I've got to say, staff can make or break customer service, but they were all fab! The room was big enough for our city break with a lovely balcony space. If you're looking for a huge room, please bear in mind that the buildings are historical and space is limited in most hotels. There is a lift which is so good, especially when you've walked miles. We arrived at Orly airport and took the Metro 14 to Gare Saint Lazare which was approximately 14E each and the hotel was about 850m from there. Google maps was great throughout our trip. A perfect base for exploring Montmartre and the inner arrondissements of Paris. We'd definitely stay again<3
Perfect location. Wonderful attention from the staff. Pleasant stay.
Such a cute hotel! The rooms are quite small, but that's to be expected in Paris and a boutique hotel. The room I had works fine for a singular person or a couple, despite the size! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and I loved how the hotel is decorated (very nice for pictures). Also a bonus that our stay came with the breakfast buffet. It had everything you could need; juice, coffee, different breads and spreads, cheese, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, etc. Close to the metro station if needed, but Paris is such a walkable city that we walked everywhere from the hotel!
Absolutely loved our stay at this property! We booked a balcony room and though it was cool outside, we enjoyed the view as often as we could. Staff were all pleasant and all spoke excellent English (and none made fun of my poor French). Helped us out with restaurant recommendations and in setting up a cab to the airport on departure day. Room itself was very nice. Loved the coffee maker. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary water tap in the lobby (both still and sparkling) and would fill a reusable bottle each morning before adventuring out. Did lots and lots and lots of walking and never felt unsafe in areas near and far from hotel (even late at night). Did not participate in the daily breakfast- instead we walked to a different boulangerie or patisserie each morning. Would HIGHLY recommend Hotel R. Kipling and would book here again in the future!
It's a very quirky and interesting hotel - quite unique; enchanting original oriental furniture, photos and other fascinating decor. The staff were absolutely incredible, from the room maids to Junior on the reception desk. The assistant manager, Hadjar, is an invaluable asset to the happyculture brand - she oversees her team in an excellent and professional manner, while still being able to find time to interact socially with her guests. We were not the only visitors that felt this way and insist that she cannot be praised highly enough; nothing was too much trouble and such a wonderful time was spent here, we are highly likely to return.(Family of four, visiting in October 2024).
We were told check in was 3:00 pm. We were not able to access our room until 4:00 pm, with no explanation. We expected the room to be tiny, and it definitely was! The flooring was lifted from water running out of the shower into the main room and under the bed. Loud music from below kept us awake most of the night. When we asked the front desk to arrange a cab to the airport, we were quoted 95€. We knew from the day before, the set rate was 72€. When we questioned her, she said that is what her partners charge. This same employee admonished several guests, us included, for the size and weight of their luggage. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.
The staff were beyond kind, respectable, accommodating! They all went above and beyond!!
Room was tiny with nowhere to put the case stand except in front of the door The toilet rim inside the bowl was brown but could not see it if you were stood up over it. Room should have been a single room. The public spaces were clean
The staff was very kind and accommodating. The place is very charming. Overall a good stay
Excellent staff - extremely helpful! Wonderful room and balcony.
Stayed in a suite and it was a good size for 3 people and very clean. Hotel staff were all so helpful and friendly. Good choice for breakfast and the coffee, water etc in reception was a lovely addition.
One of the worst examples of bait and switch… booked the room that had the balcony on the Expedia website, only to be shown & told that the room that was booked was a small, cramped “deluxe suite” that seemed more like a storage room turned into a hotel room…. AWFUL!
The location and personnel were fantastic. The bedsheets had a particular smell we couldn't figure out … sweat ?, not dry properly?. The curtain hanger on the shower didn’t work and fall on us once… no curtains or glass so the water went outside when showering… elevator and flooring are in OK condition but old and have not been upgraded in a while. Lobby has a great vibe and maybe the best feature of the hotel.
rooms are dark and dated desperately in need of a renovation. Area is good with easy access to all major landmarks. Breakfast is ok. I was initially given a room thats not up to standard, and front desk was helpful and switched me to a different room. The manager personally apologized to me next morning, great customer service here.
People were really nice, they had really good customer service, excellent my first time in Paris
From the moment that we walked into the hotel, we fell in love. The woman who was working at the front desk was unbelievably kind and welcoming. She immediately tagged our luggage for storage, gave us a lunch recommendation, and passed on some other tips for getting around Paris. The room was also spectacular! It was large and airy with a beautiful bathroom and comfortable beds. The location in Montmartre is wonderful, and we felt very safe. The breakfast was delicious and filling with a great variety of items. We loved this hotel so much that we wanted to extend our stay, but we had other nonrefundable reservations. It was a sheer delight to stay here!
Good location . A little dated but served its purpose of an overnight stay . Room a little tight . Staff very friendly and helpful.
Overall good quality
It's a Go.
Everyone was fun, quick, and helpful. Perfect location near Montmatre. Stay there.
The air conditioning was not at all effective. The room was shabby and not very clean but very expensive
Great location. Very quiet
Excellent staff
The staff was very nice, and very helpful
Great location ,nice staff ,breakfast on site
Dirty – not what I expect of a four-star hotel
Hotel was pretty dirty. The first room I was given had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and when I went to report it to the front desk they were reluctant to give me a new room and did not think it was a serious issue. The whole place was a bit run down and not what I expect from a four-star hotel
Great stay, close to everything
Excellent stay
Very comfortable stay. Rooms were well maintained , clean & with all required amenities.
Hotel is located near by metro and convenient to travel anywhere
Property was okay, it was clean breakfast selection was ok too
Everyone we dealt with were very helpful and accommodating. Our flight was 24 hrs late arriving and they had our room ready for us to clean up and rest. They even came back in when we went out and refreshed the bed and towels. Room was small, but that’s to be expected in an old building. Room was very quiet though. We did enjoy the balcony and being able to use that space.
My room was disgusting. My bathroom was extremely disgusting!! Our towels were wet. The towel rack was dirty. The toilet was all black and dirty (looked moldy). Shower was also the worst I ever seen. Never been to a place that doesn’t even have an enclosed shower in Paris. When you shower the whole bathroom gets wet, the toilet paper and everywhere just turns wet. Room was small but most importantly the bathroom was the most disgusting bathroom I have been been in and can’t believe they dare to call this a 4 star hotel. Cannot express how disappointed I am with staying here. It was absolutely horrible. Will never recommend this place to anyone.
Satisfactory stay in Paris
Dusty room, odd smell at reception, bed set up was two singles put together not a double bed. No fridge. Good location for sight seeing. Shops and bakeries are close by.
The Hotel is a joke, lets start from my checking, my room, place to keep the room entry card to get the lights in-broken, safety issue, ceiling paint litteraly peeling/falling from above while you sleep, bathroom space nonexistent...toilet seat not properly attached, hair dryer doesn't work, so be aware if as a women you would like to dry your hair,(sent an email about it on a first few hours of stay, to this moment, no response.) Room itself so tiny, I request single bed room, got double, not by my choosing, without any space to maneuver around. No space to even go around the bed, not to mentioned to get unpacked in comfort of a hotel room. Mattress so outdated, sinking and broken so forget good night sleep, first you will sinking into it, (imagine I'm only 165 tall and a bit over 60 KG) then sliding to one side, cause even the sheets don't stay on, since they don't match the size of the mattress. The room scent moldy, outdated overal disappointing. How the hotel get 9 & rating is really mind blowing. I travel quite a bit throughout Europe and USA this hotel would past health cleaningness inspections in many countries. The thicknesses of dust flowing in lobby area would cause any problems to even nonalergic customers. Overall, I strongly feel the money I paid for the 4 night stay is complete rip off, for the "quality" the hotel provide. I usually read reviews on before booking, should listen to some of them, however the management seems they don't care about it.
Great boutique hotel with friendly staff .....
Lovely little property. Perfect for a weekend get away. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Property is clean and well kept. Room was tiny but that is to be expected for Paris. Wish I had a fridge in the room. To keep beverages chilled. No water in room but they do offer water and coffee for free in the lobby. Location is very walkable to shopping areas. It is located right down the street 2-3 minute walk from the moulin rouge. Lots of dining options in the area. Overall really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again in the future
I had a great stay at R.Kipling Hotel. My check in was very pleasant and efficient. My room was a perfect size with windows that looked out into the street. Nice big queen size bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom was immaculate with a nice big walk in shower. The room I stayed in was 107 I was there for 2 nights for the rugby. I didn’t have the breakfast because I was up and out early each day but wish I did. There are cafe’s & a bolangerie just a few metres up the road. Close to the metro, moulin rouge and a 20mins walk to Sacre Coeur. All in all I had a great stay here and would stay here again.
The service was great! All staff was very friendly and helpful, but beware that the rooms themselves are very tight! There was hardly room to walk around the beds (2 twin). The location was pretty convenient with plenty of food/access to public transportation - a very pleasant walk to Montmartre.
The rooms were extremely small. Bed was comfortable. No place to store luggage. Literally had to move sideways to get into the bed so small. The noise was awful. We were victims of attempted pick pocketing twice while there which was not the hotel's fault but it was the area. Didn't feel safe walking after dark. Had to use Uber most of the time and they didn't like bringing us back to the hotel because of all the construction around the area
Staff were lovely, good selection of free hot drinks at reception. Room was incredibly small (I stay in Paris a LOT and I was surprised at how tiny it was), dark and hot (air-con barely worked). Do not think this can be classed as a 4 star hotel! Wardrobe had no hanging space, could not have stayed here more than 2 nights.
Very friendly staff, comfy beds, great breakfast great selection of food. Minus- noisy plumbing.
Great service, great location
Fantastic location, it’s steps away from Moulin Rouge, many great restaurants near by and a pharmacy up the street. Room was very clean, the beds are VERY comfortable but were unfortunately too high for my mother, who is a senior, to climb up on. We had breakfast at the hotel, for €14 each we found it decent with many options to choose from. Exceptional customer service for the lady who works the breakfast services, she kept the food topped up and the breakfast area was spotless! I will definitely stay here again
We had 2 rooms, one did not have air conditioning (during a heat wave in Paris!) as well as a phone that was not working. The other did not have working lights. My two adult children had to use their phones to get around the room at night. Very disappointing for a hotel rated as “4 star”.
Very nice location, it’s just far from the main area of Paris. But we did the hop on hop off bus and found it very helpful it’s about a 15 minute walk from a stop for the hop on hop off and there’s a mall there aswell.
Arrived 1:00 told to come back 3pm. Came back 2:15 to relax in lobby. Lobby was empty except us. 3pm there were now 3-4 other groups waiting to check in. 3:15 still no rooms given out but 2 employees talking away. 3:20 couple who speak French were given a room followed by a couple that literally just walked in. Then a family of 4 were given 2 rooms…..we were the first there and had a premium balcony room but again were ignored even after I approached the desk twice to ask when we would be given our room. At 3:30 I demanded to be assisted and was asked what my name was….seriously???? I said I expected to be given an extra 30 minutes at checkout now. Then we get to the room. Bed too long for room and have to climb over it to get on other side. Can’t get a suitcase around, you have to pull it over bed. Blow dryer kept shutting off and wouldn’t turn back on for @ 5 minutes each time. Never been treated so poorly and ignored like that before. I’m a flight attendant and for leisure I travel to Europe at least twice a year. Not recommending to co-workers or passengers.
Total revamp required
Tired decor. Chipped furniture, worn carpet, peeling wallpaper.
Overall they stay was good but I didn’t like how to room I selected was not like the photo. The bathroom had mold and the room was really really small. The staff were very friendly and helpful though.
I loved staying here. Very good energy, clean, sharp, attractive, Excellent Location, staff is friendly and supportive. The petit dejeuner was fantastic. I loved it and will stay here again. Well done!
Amazing Stay
Amazing! Super clean, helpful staff and bed mattress soo comfortable.
Hotel in Demise
I have been a frequent traveller to this hotel for a good number of years. It has slowly demised in the terms of service, quality and cleanliness. This trip the coffee machine yet again was not working for breakfast. The shower in Room 105 still has not been fixed and water sprays everywhere. Time to start looking for a new hotel for my frequent visits to Paris.
Good area close to metro M2 and bus station front of the door U can reach walking montmartre , pigale , moulin rouge, gym only 4 min walk with day pass. Clean hotel friendly staff, there is drinking water and voffe available free. Breakfast is considered aa good for me and healthy. U can add also if not in diet croussant and cake..
I in love with that place is around of metro and buss easy to do everything
The hotel was excllent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.
Great location with bars and restaurants just up the road. Clean hotel and rooms in good condition. The room was abit small but very comfortable. Quiet and no noise from other guests. Receptionist were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again
Very cosy and friendly hotel, great location
The service freindly and all around care to the customer. I would recommend.
The first room they gave us had a backlog in the toilet and they had dumped a bunch of fragrance on top of it to cover it up….was unbearable. We finally got the room switched which was much cleaner but the decoration is very old and kinda creepy. Very small space which is expected of Paris, but no space to even open luggage fully.
Someone got into my room without notice while getting a shower
Staff and location were wonderful. Room was small but very cozy. I would stay there again.
Was as advertised, comfortable and clean but not fancy. Staff was good, great location near transport and not bad walk to Montmarte area
This is not a 4 star property!!! Maybe 2 1/2. Someone needs to check this property. Halls (rug)outside rooms are filthy. Not a 4 star for sure so if you are expecting a 4 star hotel, do not come here. We were very dissapointed😱
Great balcony
Balcony over the rooftops of Paris was amazing and a great location- downside was the lack of amenities and the size of the room - but the balcony more than made up for this
Would stay here again. Right between Moulin Rouge and the Opera. Loads of food options around. Place was clean and the breakfast was worth it. AC was invaluable during 30 Celsius heat wave.
Overall, it was a GREAT stay. The place is clean, nice, and different than staying in a hotel - quaint and cozy! I would stay there again.
Extremely disappointing
This hotel was very disappointing for a 4-star hotel and did not live up to our expectations at all. The only thing that was nice about it is its location and that it is very close to the Moulin Rouge. We got a room for 4 people and the room was extremely small because it was more of an attic and the roof was very low. The room was also dirty when we entered and there were stains and crumbs on the couch. There was poor lighting and no refrigerator, which was inconvenient. You cannot turn off the lights at night because hitting the switch also turns off the outlets, making it impossible to charge phones. On the first day, the air conditioner leaked a lot while we were out and soaked our suitcase. The shower did not have a curtain or door, so the water splashed everywhere in the bathroom. Very old hotel with an odor as well.
We had a triple room. The pull out couch was very uncomfortable. It was small and the mattress was flat. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was delicious. The person over the breakfast was excellent. She was attentive and accommodating.
Highly recommended
Great little hotel within easy walking distance of the Blanche metro. Charming, unique interior. Has all the quirks of a traditional Parisian hotel (small lifts, etc.) Friendly, helpful staff. Kindly let us leave our luggage where our train wasn't until that evening and brought extra towels promptly. Only area for improvement was the bathroom needed a deep clean - a few grubby corners and a thick layer of dust on the door window. Would definitely stay here again.
Really lovely hotel, cosy room and nice part of Paris. This was my first ever solo trip and I felt very safe :)
Amazingly pleasant staff, are the key to this small hotel's desirabilty. It is in a position well located (for tourists) with good travel links. Quirky -in a very nice way -for furnishings and decor gives a unique position for its price bracket. Excellent breakfast. Truly tiny, but very well fitted, bedroom is a downside, which could be a deal breaker for some and must be considered if undertaking price comparisons.
Fantastic location, extremely friendly staff and great decor. The common areas such as hallways, lobby, etc are in desperate need of a deep clean (including the carpet!), bedrooms and bathrooms were thoroughly clean. For someone who likes to sleep in the cold I found the air conditioning to be too warm and even with the controls in my room it didn’t cool as it should. It was cold in Paris at the time so I suppose the building is in some kind of temperature control. Overall a great location and I would stay again for a short stay.
This is great location for food & fun. Staff are super accommodating & friendly. They let us store our bags until check in & greeted us with cappuccinos & a map with suggested areas. I would definitely tell friends to book the room with the balcony for a romantic view.
Hotel was older than expected. Staff where Nice but could help with re-freshing
The advertising looked amazing but upon arrival it was not as expected. The room was crammed and the floor was dull and needs updating
A quaint and quirky hotel with comfortable beds and a decent bathroom. However there was hardly any provision to hang clothes and the coffee maker had seen better days.
Room a little on the small side, over all it was alright staff friendly and helpful
The location was good, the room was nice and enough just to sleep in, with unique decor. The amenities could have been better, but the staff were very friendly.
Central Location and nice décor in the hotel. staff were very friendly and helpful
Great location and friendly staff clean would stay again
I have stayed here maby times and appreciate the local neighborhood type flair. I do miss the nightly wine tasting, which they apparently no longer do even though it says they do in their website and in Cheaptickets write up.
Small, but quiet and clean. Good service too.
Room is small but everything is fine. Quiet and clean. The service is good too. Probably will visit again
Need to give proper bed
They combined two single beds to form a “queen” size bed. Apart from that, service staffs are quite polite
Tiny room, great staff
Our room was tiny. Very difficult to do anything in other than sleep. Even moving around each other/the room was awkward. That said, the location is fine, the neighborhood seemed safe, within walking distance of several sites and close to the subway. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The wifi works very well.
Great stay at the hotel. Clean rooms and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to friends and family if they are visiting.
The location was real convenient. A brief Metro ride (2) from Gard du Nord and just down the block from the Moulin Rouge. The breakfasts were quite good and plentiful. The staff was more than friendly and ever-willing to assist. Our room was quaint, but it was clean and fun to live in for 6 nights.
A friendly hotel
Service good, staff friendly and helpful.
We absolutely loved this hotel! A very pleasant experience overall! The staff was very pleasant and kind. They offered help without being asked. They would anticipate your needs and make appropriate offer to help which a hotel room experience should be!
Nice quirky hotel with friendly desk staff. Room is very small but clean and modern bathroom. Excellent location close to the Moulin Rouge and Metro station.
The first room we got was too small so we asked for another one. There was no floor space to walk on and it was a bit dusty, to be honest. The person who checked us in was very helpful, though, and tried to work out a solution for us. We were transferred to another room as soon as there was one available (the day after we checked in). The rest of the staff seemed nice as well so it wasn't too bad overall.
Reception staff were great, very friendly and welcoming
The hotel is lovely however, our room was tiny, it was not a twin room as requested, and we only had 1 towel on the first night.
Love the Hotel. Fantastic customer service!
I had the most wonderful experience. The front desk staff we delightful and very friendly. They really cared about my time spent in Paris and at the hotel. Great location. Overall just a lovely experience.
A hip vibe with professional team at the desk
Everyone who works at this charming boutique hotel is warm, help and goes out of their way to make your stay memorable. I highly recommend!
Great Location,Clean, Great Staff
Great location amazing staff unique and beautiful rooms. First incredible stay in Paris highly recommended.
Great breakfast! Nice and clean room ! No parking
I loved our room and the hotel was so charming. We paid extra for a larger room but it was still smaller than American hotels. The bathroom and balcony were amazing. Staff was amazing and helpful. We loved our stay
Friendly staff and clean room. Near lots of restaurants and the Moulin Rouge.
This quaint hotel is centrally located near many good eats and cute cafes. You can take a romantic stroll around the neighborhood and hike up to one of the popular churches. The staff, especially the front desk people, are extremely welcoming and helpful.
I like this hotel location, very convenient . Staff very nice , and helpful.

Hotel and staff were great, room was lovely only negative was the shower as pressure not great and ran out of hot water one day.
