Great hotel, rooms are spacious, very clean. Classic interior. Staff really helpful and issues addressed immediately. Walking distance to the centre and great shuttle service by the hotel. Unmentioned voluntary staff contribution on the final receipt was an unpleasant surprise.
There is a slightly old school style in the hotel and amazing service. Sometimes one forgets how these solid values of comfort, friendliness and professionalism are more important than a 'new' trendiness when hoping to have a memorable hotel experience
Great hotel
Loved this hotel.
Fairy place!
Very fairy location, luxury, style, confortable. But quite expensive.
Great place in Milan
Classic Milan.
Staff are extremely attentive and accommodating. They throw off the vibe that they like working there as much as guests like being there. Come here to make memories.
Nice helpful staf!
I booked this hotel based on the many positive reviews and the hotel’s presentation as a luxury property. However, my experience was far from luxurious—it’s clear they may not know what a true luxury experience entails. Firstly, the hotel layout is very inconvenient, with numerous steps throughout, making it impossible to roll your luggage without carrying it yourself up and down stairs. To my surprise, an additional €40 in “tips” was included on my bill. This hidden charge was never mentioned beforehand, and it’s something I’ve never encountered in any five-star hotel. Typically, guests choose how and when to tip for service, not as an unannounced, mandatory fee added at the end. It felt misleading and inappropriate, especially considering the amount was almost $50. The hotel itself is outdated, with steps and floors that creak with every movement. For a property that brands itself as luxurious, this was a serious letdown. This was honestly my first time writing a poor review, but I feel it’s necessary to let other travelers know what to expect. I won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to consider different options if they’re looking for a true luxury experience.
A true 5-star experience
We loved everything about our stay at this hotel. It is beautiful, in a great location for walking from the station and into town and the room was very comfortable, even including UK tv stations. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Lovely
Staff was exceptional!
Good
Outstanding property in a great location. Extremely professional staff from check in to concierge to waitresses. Very enjoyable stay.
Very good experience, Thank you
Amazing property! Old world Italian opulence!! If you are coming to Milan - stay here! Stayed two nights on the way to Como - wished I had stayed another night!!!
Lovely
Amazing
Beautiful property. Excellent service.
Outstanding true 5 star hotel adapted from a historical castle.
Gorgeous comfortable hotel with superb staff
Suite cleanliness is not great. Also the hotel looks old
Charming but details matter
Wonderful property and good location between central station and the center of town. Very kind and welcoming service but I have to drop one star for some gaps in attention to details. We reserved a twin room and a double and confirmed this at check-in, however had to re-ask when the twin was also a double bed (vs two separate) - they corrected whilst we were out to dinner. Since our room wasn’t ready when we checked in (appropriately since we arrived before the 3pm check-in) the gentleman said he would text me when the room was ready, but I never got a text. Finally, the air conditioning intermittently made a noise like it was raining which was a minor annoyance All the above said, more as feedback, the hotel is beautifully maintained and rooms, bed, bathroom very well appointed - so can recommend but would say that for a 5* L hotel the details should matter
Clean and quiet
Sem palavras, ficamos muito bem hospedados neste hotel, seja pelo concierge, pelos restaurantes, academia e as acomodações.
Vv
Old world beauty with charm and all the modern amenities.
The Principe di Savoia is a Dorchester Collection property and follows the same high standards as other properties in London and Paris. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable and the restaurant offers creative takes on classic Italian and Milanese dishes. The hotel is on the Piazza Della Republica, which isn’t the prettiest area of the city, but on the backside of the hotel is a walkway that leads to the vibrant Porta Nuova and Corso Como neighbourhoods. The Principe di Savoia staff is professional, accommodating, and aim to make your stay memorable.
Great stay !
Very pleasant stay , good food in room & restaurant , friendly & welcoming staff & spacial thanks to the reception team the were so helpful , coming back again 👌
We gave a review directly to the hotel also. Everything was excellent especially the service from the reception, concierge, and baggage/transportation staff which we often needed. The location is a little far from the tourist center of the Duomo and Galleria piazza but the hotel was worth that sacrifice.
Excellent hotel and service.
Excellent hotel
We had a wonderful welcome from the reception and concierge team. We had urgent documents to print and sign and the team were very efficient and helpful, thank you Vanessa! Our room was beautiful, and we had a lovely welcoming bottle of wine on arrival. The restaurant didn’t cater particularly well for Coeliacs but we had a celebration dinner with friends and they were made to feel very welcome. The concierge gave us great gluten free eating recommendations We will definitely visit again, thank you.
Great view over the bay from our room and at breakfast. Lovely room (and quiet aircon).
I like its rich history and proximity to Teatro alla Scala.
Everything excellent
Absolute perfection
Utter perfection. From the welcome, the check-in, the valet parking, the staff, the hotel, the restaurant, the bar, the service, the breakfast, the food. Utterly faultless. Does not get better than this hotel. 😊
I would definitely come back
Very hospitable staff. Provided a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for my birthday. That was a surprise, and unprompted by us. Beautiful facility.
excellent location and staff
I had started in the hotel in 2001 and was delighted to return to see the new look.
One of my favorite hotels in the world
Excellent facilities, service, staff, restaurant! Wonderful stay.
Short stay in Milan
Very easy access location, walking distance to city center
VERY COMFORTABLE, GOOD LOCATION AND SUPERB STAFF AND SERVICE.
Fabulous property. My favorite hotel in all of Europe!!
Very nice place
A very palatial hotel property, unique in a modern world.
Second time confirms this place is great!
This was my second time here and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it was last year. The rooms are beautiful, staff is unbelievably friendly and the restaurant is delicious. Easy to get around town from this location as well as walkable to the train station. I will be back for sure.
Nice management, beautiful property
Best hotel in Italy
Absolutely incredible experience. Could not have been better. Staff treated us like family and made every day memorable.
No upgrade Very small room for the price Won’t be back
It’s always a pleasure to at the Principe!
They didn’t recognize the Expedia benefits and upgrade until I insisted , they refused to give the late check out
This hotel might have been in fashion decades ago...but now its just old and tired. I would not stay here again since it is so low energy. Staff is very nice and professional but i will stay in a much more modern hotel next time i am in Milan.
Great hotel and concierge.
Great location , nice big rooms very idyllic loved it amazing breakfast nice bar will give an overall 9/10 points
Great hotel!
5 star
I asked to be moved away from the electrical box next to my room as it made a humming noise. Was moved to a room at the back of the hotel facing the street with the tram line. It was even noisier. The hotel is a bit tired feeling to me. There was a pool and it looked nice but I did not swim.
Stunning
A stunning property in a good location close to everything. Taxis are parked just outside the hotel and available all day. It’s also walking distance to the main train station as well as the city centre. The staff at reception were very helpful and understanding to the situation we were in and helped to get the last night refunded as we needed to leave earlier as our passports were ready to collect from the consulate. The food was lovely either with the room service or at the lobby area. The spa stays open until late so we got to use it after a long day getting around the city. I will stay again if we ever return to Milan
Staff and a special mention to Lorenzo greeted us with a warm welcome and a roll upgrade! All the staff are very attentive and we also got an extended checkout as we had a late flight. This is a great hotel Thant knows how to make their guests feel special.
Great 5 star hotel that actually offers the amenities of a 5 star hotel.
Love this hotel. Family and I stay here for our visits in Milano. Highly recommended.
Great
i felt like a queen!
The hotel itself is traditional but updated. It's a beautiful classy property with attention to detail including attention to you. The staff and concierge are amazing! I didn't realize its a Dorchester property. But it shows the minute you pull up!
Very friendly old world style hotel with modern levels of service.
Wonderful hotel with outstanding service. It is very easy to get from the hotel to many prominent destinations. Highly recommended.
Great
Only gave me a bottle of white wine on the first day, not everyday. Kept hearing the other room talking in my room. Tried to charge me on minibar service even though I took nothing. Very disappointed!
excellent service
Excellent services and very polite staff.
Great value!
Excellent hotel, great value!
We were spoiled for Chinese New Year celebrations. The lobby bar has the yummiest roasted pecans, I could eat pails of them. Acanto is asuperb restaurant! Our room had champagne, wine, some chocolate and a custom cake for New Years! Front desk staff even helped us close a real estate transaction using their scanner and colour printer. What a great trip. See you soon!!
Absolutely perfect
Stellar!!!!
We loved loved this hotel! It has an old school charm with sophistication that is stellar! Top quality in every way from bed linens and towels to materials used in the updated bathroom. The customer service was amazing and wish all hotels took lessons from them because it makes a large difference in ones experience and overall holiday!
Lovely experience
Overall our stay was great, however beds and pillows wasn’t very comfortable a little stiff. Also there was a technical issue in our bathrooms that was fixed on same day. Other than that it was a lovely stay the staff were the best very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very old and even there is no coffee machine in the room.
The overall experience was great. Friendly staff and helpful.
On a 2 week tour, we stayed at 3 hotels - this was the least expensive but absolutely equal to the Mandarin Oriental & Armani (both amazing of course). The bathroom was large for two, ample lighting, gorgeous decor, and attentive staff. The bar area was beautiful for cocktails, the breakfast was also perfect. We would stay here again and again while in Milan!
Most amazing , very good food , kind staff
Service is terrible. All the way from always waking me up even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign outside, to curtains and blinds being broken. To make matters worse, the Manager did not take any feedback and at the same time, said he didn't have time for any complaints. Very sad, because everyday their staff did all the way from giving me GLUTEN pasta, while I am a celiac and clearly specified it, to not being able to answer the phone... it took many times as much as 5 minutes (REALLY) to get room service to answer.
Definitely worth it.
Beautiful hotel with amazing service. Had an incredible room. I just wish we were able to stay longer!
It's very posh in a good way
Classic Milanese design and room decor. Was provided a suite upgrade as our visit was to celebrate 50th anniversary. First class try 5 Star and 2021 Michelin winner
The true meaning of Italian Luxury! I cannot recommend enough and wish I could give a 10 star! The staff are so polite and professional and the food is so delicious! My sister forgot her diamond earrings in the room which we contacted the hotel for, after check out. They immediately located the earrings and kept them in a safe until we collected them a few days later when we were back in Milano. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel at home and going out of their way to make our stay extremely comfortable.
Amazing hotel
From the minute you arrive to the minute you depart, the staff at Principe take care of you. Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, amazing beds, great breakfast, nice amenities. I will be coming back!
This is a glorious hotel. We flew into Milan from New York at the start of a 6 week long vacation and stayed here for one night of R&R before heading Sourh. The concierge was very helpful and the hotel equally beautiful and clean. The bar downstairs was divine. Highly recommend.
Excellent
very convenient, friendly and professional staff
Definitely still the best Milano's hotel. Even in COVID-19 times the service is still great, unfortunately the restaurant is closed and breakfast is served in the bar. This is sad since it was the best breakfast in the city. Some problem with Expedia Gold services. The hotel does not see Expedia status and some stuff members don't even know what it is!
No one opened the car door upon arrival at the hotel. No introduction to the hotel, or tour around the hotel spaces for breakfast, gym etc. No one showed way to the room. No complimentary water, masks, hand sanitizer or room service menus in the room. The adjacent room was smoking for 3 of the 4 nights in non smoking room and the smell came into our room, I complained 3 times and nothing was done about it - I was not offered for the room to be changed. I was promised a follow up email from the manager/customer experience - and never received it. Staff in the restaurant area were attentive, otherwise service lacking in general.
Just exceptional in every way, will be back!
We love the Dorchester Collection, understated class and excellent service.
