Beautiful hotel
The room and beds very clean is a nice, safe and quiet place to sleep
Good but not as impressive as usual.
This was my 4th stay here. Overall for the price it's a good place to stay. There is no breakfast or coffee but the zócalo is close. The garden is beautiful and the rooftop has beautiful views as well. It was good but wasn't as great as my usual stays. I was out into a smaller room than the usual one I stay in and I asked if I could change rooms (because the hotel was empty) and they said it was reserved. But no one stayed in it the entire time I was there. There is usually a fan and I did not have one which usually wouldn't matter but it was quite warm this trip and didn't sleep well due to the heat. Also, there was a lot of noise the last night I was there but it was Saturday night and somewhat expected but you can hear everything in the room I was in. When I checked out, they said there was nothing else I needed to do. I proceeded to walk to the zócalo and the attendant chased me down 3 blocks to tell me I needed to sign my cc receipt. I asked if he brought it with him and he said "no" and I needed to walk back to the hotel to sign it. Rediculous and was upsetting as I was in a hurry to get in my lift.to the airport.
Location
Hotels is like traveling into the past, with old furniture, basic amenities, but it´s charming and we had a comfortable stay, and it is right in the centre of Tlaxcala.
The hotel is among the most comfy and beautiful places I've ever stayed at in mexico. It's not the luxury but it's got a "home" feel to it. The staff was curteus and very friendly.
great place to stay love the plants and the staff at the hotel
Great location and service. Great breakfast but not included in price
Fantastic location; lovely room and courtyard; friendly staff.
Very comfortable
Super clean and spacious room
A good place
The place is very cute, well located, spacious, friendly, good bed. Wish shower were a little warmer, don’t bring a large car because the entrance to the parking is super tight, dog friendly (as long as the dog is not without a human).
Tlaxcala experience;lovely !
Excellent customer service and great location !
Charming and well located
We had 5 rooms for 1 night. Every room is different, all very charming. Staff was very attentive, pleasant and professional. Water was nice and hot. There's no air conditioning in any of the rooms, the night was cool but still it's worth mentioning.
Fabulous place - comfortable, friendly, very convenient location & great breakfasts!
Great option
Hotel is close to downtown, on a secluded street. I enjoy the decorations and the comfortable hotel room. The attending personnel were very friendly, and they provide very reasonable service for laundry. I liked the quiet and the helpfulness of staff. I will happily return here again and again.
Quiet get Away
Excellent place. 2 blocks away from city center. People very hospitable. Nice place to Germany away from it all. Tlaxcala gave us the opportunity to enjoy an adventure of a lifetime, a firefly sanctuary. Thank you Posada de Cortez .
Great traditional Mexican food in the restaurant
Elegant and friendly
We stayed three weeks and had a large comfortable room. The location is great, a five minute walk to the zocalo, close to the centre of the old part of the historic district. The staff is great, some speak English, and are very helpful in making arrangements to hire taxis for longer excursions, and telling which collective to take to get around town. The garden in the hotel and the rooftop patio make it a great place to just relax and take a day off. Also the hotel restaurant offers a good breakfast at a fair price. If you are going to stay more than a day or two in Tlaxcala this is a great choice.
Charming hotel
We traveled with a friend to Tlaxcala by bus for a two day break from the bustle of Mexico City. We used the hotel as a base to explore the city and take a guided day trip to some nearby ruins. The staff greeted us warmly and were always available to make recommendations. Our rooms were spacious and individually decorated with colorfully painted wooden furniture. Bathrooms were large with reliable hot water. Everything was very clean. The beds were very firm, as is typical in Mexico, and there were extra pillows and blankets available. The central courtyard was charming, and the rooftop terrace was a great place to relax. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient, just a short walk from downtown.
Beautiful courtyard and rooms
This hotel is lovely, but has some drawbacks. There is no land-line phone in the room, and no coffee maker. When we asked for a small fan, the desk clerk said they had none. More problematic, the street that the room is on is very noisy at times. Not only the much-commented-on police wake-up ritual down the block, but also a barking dog almost all night one night (out of 3) and some carousing neighbors on the street in the evening. The breakfast was nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel with qualifications.
Lovely boutique hotel.
The hotel is tucked away in a small dead end alley, so it is very quiet. Staff is welcoming and very helpful. Even though I had made a reservation for a single room, I got a spacious room with a king size bed. I was more than I had expected. The rate is terrific, especially for 2 people sharing. Both room and bathroom were very clean. The bed very comfortable. There is a roof terrace with a lovely view onto this great little town. The only drawback was that it gets chilly at night and there is no heating in the room. There was only extra blanket which was helpful. Thank you Hotel Posada La Cansone de Cortes for a lovely 2 day stay.
Cozy hotel close to downtown
Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, close to everything downtown.
beautiful hotel
It was great but the police barracks next was quite noisy at 8 am.
This is a great building architecturally. Really nice. They just don't seem to understand the needs of travelers all that much. Things like having to put all of your things on the floor in the bathroom because there is no counter or shelf. Also, no heat in a place that gets into the 40's at night. That being said, it was still completely worth it just to see the great building.
Great hotel - but noisy
This hotel is beautiful and the service in reception and the restaurant is really friendly and helpful. The hotel is tucked away up a cul-de-sac but that doesn't stop the almost constant movement of traffic going into the carpark opposite through metal doors that open and close at all hours. We were also unlucky to have two nights with two different senior school age groups who were very noisy and their chat and high spirits could be heard in full into the night. To be woken by the military band each morning could have been "quaint" but under the circumstances wasn't. The hotel claims its bar and restaurant are open throughout the year. It was State Fair time when we visited and good restaurant service was provided for breakfast but then everything closed up. This wasn't too much of a problem but it would have been nice to be warned or told. That said the hotel is s gem, the rooms are well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'd like to think we hit a bad week and that I would probably go back to this hotel should I visit Tlaxcala again.
weekend getaway
Traveled to Tlaxcala over the weekend for an event, never been to Tlaxcala before. The hotel was better than what I expected. Extremely quiet and clean. No weird smells nor stains. It made me feel like I was visiting my own family at the Rancho. Hot water and clean fresh towels. Great service by the staff. The breakfast was great..... I will return for sure.
Very nice, pleasant, beautiful garden.
Excellent staff and very comfortable rooms, close to the Zócalo
Beautiful little plaza hotel in the perfect spot
A bright and beautiful hotel only 2 blocks away from the Zocalo and the Government Palace in one direction and one block away from the stairway to the Cathedral of Ocotlan (with the Virgin and stunning views of Popocatapetl and La Malinche) in the other direction. Room was large and light; Bed was fine; free bottled water; good breakfast with polite staff. The restaurant staff don't speak English, but the reception staff do) The only (slightly) negative thing I can say is that the room only had two-pronged power points (so we had to recharge our laptops outside at the only three-pronged power point we could find). RECOMMENDED!
Great find on Tlaxcala
From the moment the taxi dropped us off we know we would like La Casona de Cortes. The help was very friendly, the grounds were lush, and the room was large. The breakfast was included and terrific: eggs, fruit, yogurt, granola, and coffee served by a charming young lady. We had one problem with the hot water. It was taken care of within minutes which was great because the shower was HUGE! We will be back. They also provided a driver to the bus station and helped arrange a driver to take us to the ruins of Cacaxtla. (Don't miss these. ) It's always nice to get more than you expect.
Lovely Place
Location is wonderful as it's on a quiet street just three blocks from the zocalo, fantastic sights and conveniences of all kinds. Beds are very comfortable and the room is spotless. Staff is very friendly and helpful, speaking a little English. Breakfast in the on site restaurant was wonderful.
Hotel centrico y bien conservado y cómodo.
Excelente
Excelente
Amabilidad y buena atención, habitaciones limpias y amplias.
Me encantó!

It's a clean facility well preserved, nice and secure. There is a police station practically next to it
