PURA VIDA!!!
The best hotel experience ever in CR with my family! All the staff from front desk to breakfast server and housekeeping lady are all friendly and kind to provide help to every customer! If any of mine friend want to spend vocation in MA national park, i highly recommend this hotel!
We loved our stay at Hotel Plaza Yara! The room was very spacious, clean, and we watched monkeys every morning. Breakfast is made to order and very good. The staff was very kind and helpful.
Excellent staff and service
The good: Beautiful! Saw an agouti from the patio! Everyone was friendly, and we even received a small painting as a souvenir of our stay. The not so good: The hotel isn’t within easy walking distance to restaurants, and the beds aren’t the most comfortable.
I had a really great stay at Plaza Yara on my recent solo travel. I felt safe the whole time, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, and the place is beautiful.
Above and beyond my expectations
The service was above and beyond excellent very clean place very professional people specially the guys at the the front and the breakfast guys were amazing. The waiter superb free breakfast was a real score.😃
Spacious, clean, modern, great breakfast, beautiful views, comfortable bed, excellent staff, definitely exceeded my expectations. Great snack choices and a gallery! Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Perfection! My room was beautiful and clean. While I didn’t use it, the pools looked great. The back patio off of my room was a great place to relax when I had downtime from activities. What really made my stay at Yara and in Quepos memorable, were the two gentlemen who work reception. They helped me book my tour for the national park and order pizza on a rainy night when I didn’t want to leave the hotel and just made everything so easy for me. I also can’t forget to mention Carl. The cutest little French Bulldog who helps watch over reception and the gallery, he absolutely stole my heart. I feel lucky to have gotten such a great experience for my first time in Quepos.
Loved it…!!!
Pillows could be bigger but what an awesome place to stay. Breakfast was top notch and staff was beyond friendly and helpful.
The staff was very kind and accommodating the room was very nice and very big the shower was amazing we loved our balcony Overlooking the pool and seeing the scarlet macaws in the trees every morning 1 day there was a sloth on the property and the resonant cat was very sweet highly recommend this hotel very close and convenient to everything but a little bit off the beaten path
Very clean, and friendly staff. It had all the amenities we needed. The breakfast was great.
WIFI problems
Todo bien, solo mejoraria la señal wifi
This is the second time I’ve stayed here. Loved it both times. It’s so clean, so quiet, great breakfast and perfect location.
This place was everything you could hope for in a rainforest stay. Excellent views of the rain forest, monkeys playing around the pool area. Excellent pool. Very clean rooms. Friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious. Very close to Manuel Antonio NP.
The hotel is well located, the room is super spacious, the only thing we did not love was the breakfast… we had to go elsewhere.
Enjoyed our stay. No complaints.
We enjoyed our stay at Plaza Yara very much. If you plan to spend time in Quepos, I would not hesitate to book your stay here because the customer service & free breakfast are excellent & the room was very nice. So was the property overall. We have no complaints. Also, it is close to Manuel Antonio.
Don't play with cat. It bit my husband hand.
Unfortunately I only stayed here for one night and arrived late in the evening. This hotel is amazing. Serene, very comfortable, surrounded by naure and it's wonderful sounds. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. My suite was outstanding, backing right onto the jungle. I wish I could have stayed longer!
Had a Wonderful Stay
Excellent hotel with a friendly staff who makes you feel at home. They also provide a delicious breakfast!
Beautiful boutique hotel that is well worth a visit.
Friendly staff , Nelson, Caleb and other all are very helpful. Caleb helped to make dinner reservation for us and shows us how to use the bus to Quepos and Manuel Antonio, other staff takes pictures for us in the reception area which is also an art gallery and they are so beau. This is a beautiful and clean facility surrounded by rain forest in the back. Good free breakfast and their associated restaurant , El Arado has excellent menu and tastes very good with live music . We will stay at this hotel on our future trips .
Espacios grandes poco útiles, sin restaurante, desorden en la infraestructura, animales callejeros (o bien del lugar como si fueran callejeros) metiéndose a las habitaciones
Hotel Yara was a great location, so well done, clean and a great staff. It backs up to the jungle so sights and sounds are wonderful. Included breakfast was wonderful. Great Team all around!
Beautifully decorated, super clean, wonderful staff and delicious breakfast included. Will definitely return!
Really Great Stay
From check-in to check-out, the staff was just great. We needed to have an early check-in to make a lunch-time tour and they were glad to help out. Then, when we said that the next morning, we had to leave earlier than the start of breakfast service, a wonderful breakfast of fruit, yogurt, granola and cake was brought to our room the night before. The cooked to order breakfast was lovely as well.
Amazing stuff and beautiful place for a relaxing weekend
Clean, spacious, very helpful, good breakfast
Perfect place if you are visiting Manuel Antonio
Great hotel! Very friendly, helpful and capable staff. Less than 10 minutes from Manuel Antonio park. Excellent breakfast. very clean comfortable and huge shower. plenty of room to make ourselves at home for three days.
The staff and the hotel was extremely pleasant and welcoming. The hotel itself is located in the perfect spot with lots of wild life right outside. Our stay was wonderful. My only request would be for them to invest in new towels and sheets as ours had holes in them. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay and delicious breakfast daily!
Great choice
Very new and modern hotel with spacious and pleasant rooms (very clean!) a beautiful garden out back where you can watch birds and monkeys from your room. Pool area is lovely and very relaxing (and also features good animal watching). The breakfast is nice. The hotel is just a short drive (8 min?) from Manuel Antonio park.
Our visit
Very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was right off the pool deck with a view from the living room of the forest. We were able to see monkeys, macaws and a sloth. The hotel is in the hills and I didn’t feel comfortable walking on the roads with no sidewalks so we either drove or got a ride.
Quiet area in between quepos and Manuel Antonio
Great hotel and a base in MA
Great accommodation , spacious, jungle views and so relaxing
Friendly staff
What good
Beautiful property! The rooms are very nice and the hotel is well maintained. It’s in a good location and has a great feel. The breakfast is good (you make a reservation the day before) and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. We had help at reception booking our COVID tests for our return trip home and it made our stay much easier. I wish we had longer than two nights there! I cannot say enough good things about it and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Incredible place to be! Highly recommended
The service was excellent. Spacious and spotlessly clean rooms and common areas. Microwave, coffee maker and supplies provided. Beautiful art gallery and mosaic throughout the property. Very good breakfast. 2 Pools and lounge area to relax. Conveniently located and good restaurant (El Arado) nearby.
Our suite has a porch and we could walk right out of our room to the pool. It was a beautiful room, well decorated, clean, bright and very spacious! So much nicer than we were expecting for the very affordable price on a long weekend. Caleb that was working at the reception was absolutely wonderful. Reception also doubles as a beautiful art gallery. I would definitely stay here again!
We loved staying at Hotel Plaza Yara. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room they provided us was THE BEST room (in our opinion) on the property. We had troops of squirrel monkeys jump down from the roof to the trees right in front of us. There were also toucans and scarlett macaws! Room itself was spacious and clean. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic! We absolutely enjoyed our stay!
Courteous, kind and helpful staff. Rooms overlooking outdoor patio and jungle are lovely! Wonderful complimentary breakfast.
Breakfast was great the rooms are wonderful staff was terrific. Highly recommend
Luxurious comfort in Manuel Antonio
Room was large and luxurious. Very clean and well maintained. Very quiet except for some road noise. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Lots of art and arty architecture and design. Will stay here again for sure.
Stylish hotel
The hotel was well located on the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Our room was huge, and led out onto the pool. The pool area has a lot of wildlife - we woke to Howler Monkeys and Macaws one morning! Breakfast was delicious, with a choice available. One restaurant is within walking distance, but there are many others within a short drive. Would stay again.
Everything was great but the hotel staff is the best of the stay. They are always trying to deliver more than what is expected. Definitely we recommend this hotel and will come back.
This is a lovely hotel with well-appointed beautiful spacious rooms, lovely pool area and a delicious breakfast. We had a lovely view of of the forest from our sliding glass door and balcony. We spotted scarlet macaws and hear the howler monkeys every morning. The hotel is on a very busy thoroughfare, but the rooms face the forest and are pretty well insulated from the highway noise. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and assisted us in scheduling some great tours. I would definitely recommend this for the Manuel Antonio area.
Great hotel. Would recommend to anyone
Amazing hotel with great staff. They helped us when we mixed up our reservations. Pool by the jungle was great to relax.
Staff are really friendly and helpful! Our room was bigger than expected and the art gallery Is really beautiful
Beautiful property, excellent customer service!!
Great staff, beautiful hotel!
We stayed here because, among other reasons, they accommodate dogs. We are spending 3 months in Costa Rica and couldn’t bear to leave our pup at home that long! Well, they didn’t just accommodate her, but treated her like royalty! They went out of their way—all of them—to make her—and us—feel welcome. They assisted us in finding pet-friendly dining and let us know area attractions that she couldn’t go to (the National Parks). But they weren’t just dog-friendly, the hotel was fabulous in many other ways as well. The rooms are HUGE, the beds are comfortable, the hotel was well-appointed, beautiful, clean everywhere & the views were spectacular from every room as well as the pool and dining area. We saw many colorful birds and heard howler monkeys. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! ❤️
Everything was great.. A beautiful hotel with all amenities. Super friendly staff. Pools were clean and the property was kept immaculately.
Great property, clean rooms and excellent location. Parking is just in front of the main street, so you are a little scared of leaving the car all night long, but there's security. Reception is only open during the day, so anything you need afterwards you need to talk to security or call the manager's cell phone. Internet Access leaves a lot to be desired. Based on several tests, there's only like 5-10MB available for guests. Which these day and age, let's the user basically just answer emails and check a few pages and nothing more. They are using Internet from a local cable provider, which is not the best Internet access there is (since bandwitdh is shared between the zone, and is not exclusive for the Hotel). They should really switch to Fiber Optic Internet, and for an Hotel this size, they should have at least 50 or 100MB available (so guests can relax at the end of the night with some netflix, etc). Fiber Optic is already available from local company Kolbi, and is much more superior. This was my only gripe.
10/10
An amazing hotel! Super cute decor, cooked to order breakfast and very clean. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel and would absolutely stay again.
The staff was very helpful and the gallery was beautiful!
Excellent boutique hotel
Amazing, first time for me and my wife, excellent boutique hotel, Nelson the GM and his staff were great, best service, we are a custom to Swissotel overseas, and we got the same treatment at the Plaza Yara, very clean, peaceful and Serene, overlooking beautiful wild preserve, our suite was very spacious, beds are very comfortable, The Wi-Fi you can watch Netflix on it, the included breakfast was very good, coffee is incredible, extremely pleasant and professional staff, security guard, cleaning ladies, cook, José, Caleb. The hotel is in the center less than 2 km from everything, beaches, the marina, shopping, supermarkets and a ton of great restaurants at every level of pricing. Considering it was our honeymoon they made it more memorable for us. But the star of the show you will meet when you visit the hotel, YARA.
Great place to stay near the park and out of town.
Very busy hotel, was booked the next night. Great place to stay near the park and out of town.
Convenient, clean, easy. Would stay again.
Lovely place to stay perfect distance from beach, restaurants, and Manuel Antonio park. Clean. Spacious room. Great breakfast. Wonderful people.
Excellent staff service, above and beyond. Would definitely recommend, you get more for what you paid. Gardens are the most beautiful.
Hotel Yara is a great and affordable hotel just minutes down the road from the beaches and park. My wife and I are travelling and working virtually so their extremely fast internet was enough to take zoom calls all day every day. They have an extremely helpful and friendly staff. And their breakfasts were AMAZING! We are also travelling on a budget so their little kitchenette had just enough to make a few small meals.
Amazing staff. Clean and big rooms. Great breakfast. Stunning jungle inside the hotel.
Excelente atención al cliente
A pesar de que solo nos hospedamos una noche, nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Nuestro perri- hijo también fué muy bien recibido...!
The hotel was clean with beautiful, modern decor. The staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Overall it was a great experience.
One on Manuel Antonio’s Best
Perfect stay. Great breakfast and great room.
Almost like living in the jungle
We loved everything about this hotel / art gallery. We were treated like royalty. Our hotel room overlooked the jungle and swimming pools. Monkey and birds fun and easy to watch.
Excellence
Everything was excellent at all!!
Perfection
This place is amazing. Staff is very friendly and the condition of the hotel is pristine- so much attention to detail in jungle surroundings, centrally located for a reasonable price.
Extremely basic, very noisy from the road outside the property.
Amazing property, beautiful area. The staff was so friendly & helpful & gave us lots of great places to go & see.
Great hotel near National Park
Location of the hotel was great. Right on main road but quiet and view from room was to the back and very private. Large room with kitchen and sitting area. Breakfast was excellent and service very prompt and attentive. Close to many restaurants but not easy to walk as on main road. We did tour the National Park with a group scheduled through the concierge prior to our arrival and all as expected.
Staff was so amazing, great hotel, super clean great view
Lush jungle and modern amenities
Very modern, cool gallery reception/lounge space with beautiful Costa Rican inspired art by on site artist. Breakfast room, lounge spaces, pool spaces are well appointed, well maintained. The pool space and back deck lounge space face a lush jungle like garden; watch native birds like Tanagers flit amongst the trees. Every night I saw red macaws fly overhead to their roosts near the coast. Very close proximity to Quepos, Manual Antonio National Park, beaches, and many other natural Costa Rican attractions.
The stuff were very helpful and kind! The place is so relaxing and quiet, we even saw large red perrots at the hotel backyard :)
Best Hotel in Manuel Antonio
The place is beautiful: furniture, rooms, pool. The rooms are huge and so cozy and comfortable is awesome. The staff is super friendly and willing to help at all times. O will go back to this hotel over and over again, I have stay in many hotels and Manuel Antonio and Plaza Yara is the only one I will recommend.
Nice Place! Good Location. Nice breakfast. Great staff
Rooms are extremely spacious... beautiful jungle on the back of the property. The whole staff was amazing and extremely helpful, specially since we got there at midnight. Location is great also.
Hotel room with wall of windows. Hotel generally very well decorated, bright modern fixtures. Very helpful staff and a great viewing spot to the monkey "bridge".
Amazing hotel
My wife and I stayed at Plaza Yara for four nights during our vacation, and we agreed it is one of our favorite hotels of all time. The property is elegantly decorated with mosaic tile all over. Our room was spacious with nice furniture and comfortable beds. The pool area is very pleasant and surrounded by lovely trees and vegetation. One morning there was a sloth in a tree near the patio! Breakfast was delicious with lots of options--probably the best included breakfast I've had anywhere. The staff were warm and helpful, and service was excellent. We just could not believe the quality we received for the price we paid. They even gave us a lovely gift when we checked out! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Great hotel and staff
Fantastic hotel. We enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.
This hotel was great. Easy to locate on the route to Manuel Antonio. It is close to all of the larger hotels where you can have a meal if you wanted. The attention to detail that this hotel has is hard to beat. The rooms are large and the property is extra clean. It does run like a boutique hotel as there arent that many rooms but they have plenty of staff to take care of you. The infinity pool to the jungle was always clean and barely had any leaves, I'm sure they clean it several times a day. I had dinner at some of the more costly properties to stay at but they were far too busy for my liking. This one is serene and calm. The breakfast was awesome. Lots of items you had a menu to choose from which were made to order. To top it off they gave us a little gift at the end of our stay during check out. I would give this property more than 5 stars if I could.
Excellent, spacious rooms, supported by a very attentive and customer service oriented staff. Modern facilities. There is friendly resident cat that makes the stay even more homely.
We loved this hotel. Our room was very big, clean and comfortable. Good A/C, beautiful shower. Breakfast was great - full breakfast from a menu. The staff were all very efficient and friendly. Roger was the manager(?) and was awesome! He did a great tour of Manuel Antonio park and was very knowledgeable about the animals and plants. It made it a hassle free experience as we had read so much about trouble parking and unscrupulous guides, so we felt safe with Roger. As a side note we saw monkeys, a sloth, macaws and iguanas in the trees around the hotel pool. It was a great experience.
Wonderful in every way
A perfect stay, great service, lovely rooms and good location. Worth every penny.
The staff was excellent and very helpful. We also loved the lobby and it’s unique and beautiful art gallery. Our room was perfect with a perfect view to the rainforest where we could see a variety of wild life. Will definitely stay here again.
Excellent choice for Quepos/ Manual Antonio
The people and hotel are excellent
Nice Hotel and Art Gallery
Just looking around town.
The room was very spacious as well as beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. Every person we encountered at this hotel was so friendly and pleasant. Beautiful pool and loved walking through the art gallery every day. The manager was so helpful.
Unbelievable luxury
Staff were so helpful and friendly, Roger and Richard. Room was so incredible, modern and well designed that I want to copy that for my own bedroom!! Breakfast was fabulous, the art gallery was an absolute delight, outside the rainforest was the background to the pool and sitting area, and we had our own private patio. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, definitely will staff there and for longer next time 😁
People at the reception are very very friendly and nice. They helped me booked the last minute shuttle bus. The property is very nice and looks luxurious. Clean and big room, clean and spacious washroom. Hot water running all night. Wifi is reachable but is a little bit slow at night. The hotel is close to a very good restaurant, El Arado. The location is also convenient, very close to bus stop.
Very good value for the money. Rooms are quite spacious and comfortable and also very clean. I liked the decor and artistic atmosphere.
Rooms very extremely spacious and comfortable, location is good and the staff very nice.
Great place to stay in the Manuel Antonio area. The staff is great, rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel is lovely. Highly recommend!
Fantastic, clean hotel!
Havana's Place
Wonderful in every way! What a relaxing, pleasurable stay we had--and special treats like viewing a sloth and tribes of monkeys right outside our window! The staff was great, the food was excellent, and then there is...Havana, the gorgeous milky white cat who haunts the premises and basically owns the place. It was fun to see what she was up to every day. All in all, the best hotel we stayed in in Costa Rica!
Love the Plaza Yara!
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Plaza Yara. Roger checked us in and showed us around. The room was spacious and modern. I saw monkeys swinging in the trees behind the hotel one afternoon. The hotel isn't really walkable to the local town of Quepos but it's an easy drive. It's a very steep, narrow and winding road from town to the national park and is pretty busy. We also booked a tour of the national park with Roger and saw lots of sloths and other fantastic animals. He was fantastic.
I spent time in Alajuela, La Fortuna, Monteverde, and the Drake bay. I have to say that my favorite hotel was Plaza Yara. The lobby is also an art gallery and the decoration of the hotel is outstanding. The rooms are suites style with a small kitchen in them. The bathroom is huge as well. It is obvious that the hotel was renovated recently because everything is super modern and you can tell that special attention to detail was made. Sandro and Rogers helped us with the tours and transportation. Everything was great.
Really an excellent hotel, where you can see that the administration takes great care that everything is going well and the staff shows that they like so mucho his work since they were all very friendly and helpful and always smiling The well-maintained facilities and the rooms really very large and comfortable. The breakfasts are a la carte, very complete and of good taste, not to mention the sweet bread they give as soon as you sit down at the table, delicious. Maybe the only thing would be that being on the edge of the street you hear a some of traffic noise, but despite that we would gladly use this hotel in the future.
100% would recommend - Loved this place!!
Lovely, comfortable rooms, amazing service, beautiful views, and good breakfast! This hotel is located up in the hills slightly past Quepos (it isn't super close to walk to restaurants/nightlife) BUT I would recommend this hotel to anyone that loves the jungle, animals, quality service, and an overall peaceful, delightful experience. It is located right in the middle of the (semi-) jungle, which makes it a tranquil, beautiful place to stay (I especially loved the calming noises of the wildlife at night). Roger, at the front desk was AMAZING and brought the customer experience to another level (he always knows all of the guests names!). If you plan on visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, his tour is definitely worth the money - he is a biologist, so he is a wealth of flora/fauna knowledge and can spot even the tiniest insect on a leaf up in the trees, in addition to being just an all-around pleasant guide. To top it off, the adorable hotel cat, Savanna, not only rules the roost, she also is super friendly and even pays a visit to your room if you're open to it. Long story short - 100% recommend this place.
Loved the staff here. Roger at the front desk was totally awesome. Richard in the morning serving breakfast was an amazing young man. They were all super helpful when we interacted with the for various questions and needs. They always came through. If I return to Manuel Antonio, you count I’ll stay at Yala! Ok, two small gripes... the hotel isn’t really walking distance from restaurants or the city center but $325 colones gets you on the bus. Our wait was never over 10 minutes. Second, we were super bummed to find out the hot tub wasn’t heated. We were explained that Manuel Antonio is a hot place so they didn’t heat the hot tub :(
Superb hospitality. Loved our stay. Highly recommended.
