We arrived at 1 pm after a red eye. They allowed us to check in early and we went right to sleep. My son turned 18 during our stay and we were given a cheese tray and a nice card. A little noisy on street side, Friday and Saturday more so. Radiator heat, can get warm, front desk came and unlocked our windows so we could open them. Breakfast buffet many choices, so unique to Paris. Metro 8 and 9 goes right in front of hotel. Can get easily to RER and airport (although we booked parashuttle) Would stay again

Room was not like the picture. Felt like a 3 star hotel. Shower was very tiny (the smallest I have seen at any hotels I stayed at and I travel a lot - u cant move and if it was a big person it would be more problematic) as well as the elevators and hallways. Bed was ok. My room was nothing like the pictures online. Even the floor was uneven. Breakfast is average and it was disappointing that the pastries were a hit or miss for a country knows for his excellent pastries (I flew in from Madrid where I was visiting for fews days and the 4 star hotel there had much better breakfast choices). The location is good with many dining options and metro. You can walk to the Opera (15min) and even get the Louvre (25-30min walk). I will not stay at this hotel again as the price / quality was disappointing.

I won’t stay again - noise

The rooms need redecoration and are not insulated. First night I was given a room on the second floor facing the Main Street. I couldn’t sleep all night due to the noise of nightclubs just outside the hotel which are open until 5am. The next morning i requested a change of room and was given a room facing the inside patio. This solved the issue but I just wouldn’t risk it next time I come to Paris.

Super friendly staff

My sister and I were very happy with our Hotel choice. The staff was kind and friendly and Ishara was a great help when we needed information referring to the use of the Metro system, visiting (by walking) other areas of Paris as well as arranging for our transfer to CDG for our flight home. A great asset for the Hotel. All in all, a very pleasant experience which we hope to repeat on our next European vacation.

The hotel was a 20 mts of the Metro station, very near to La fayette galeries and many restos, very good location. Front desk pepople very friendly and with good and nice attitude. I will come back next year, I recommend the hotel.

The location is great. The Metro is just in front, restaurants are plenty, bars and clubs are near-by. Shopping is near. But all this comes with a noise problem. Although the room was very large, there was no drawers or shelves. I had to live out of my suitcase and I was not happy with this. The staff was extremely nice and friendly and always with a big smile which makes things very good.

Great staff. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. Louis at the front desk was very kind. Ishara was also helpful. The location is very good for restaurants and sightseeing. However there is a pub downstairs which runs late into the late night. It did not bother me but it should be mentioned for those who would like to avoid it.

The hotel is in an excellent location with many of the usual sits that a tourist would want to visit either by walking or the Metro access just a few metres from the hotel. We would certainly recommend this to anyone that is considering Paris as a short/medium city break.

The metro is right outside the hotel and there are museums, passages, and plenty of dining options within walking distance. Galeries Lafayette is also within walking distance

Close to everything.

The location of the hotel is excellent. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. There is a bar right next door. It is very loud and is open very late. Ask to stay on the opposite side, and you should be fine.

The hotel was fine. The air conditioning could have been cooler. It was very hot while we were there and our room never really cooled off. Also, the internet was completely down one of the days we were there.

Great location and friendly helpful staff. However, the bathroom area lacked what I would expect from a four star rated property. It is a good safe three star in my opinion.

Opera Review

Location was excellent! I had a room that looked over the Main Street and it was a bit to loud for us but we were pleasantly accommodated to another room. Very clean and spacious on the 6th floor. The breakfast they provided was decent. Would come back.

Safe was broken. AC worked only after asking the front desk how to operate it (hint: you must press ON for 10 seconds). Balcony doors were locked until, again, calling the front desk. The shower, oh the shower, you’ll be flooding in no time if you don’t shower quickly- there is no curtain or door, just some ridiculous half glass thing that prevents nothing. All in all, what a mess. Mind you, this was the Junior Suite. I can only imagine the quality of the lower level rooms.

Superior service

We had an early train to catch and the front desk was kind to arrange a taxi at that early hour. We felt safe and cared for. The room was modern and quiet in the middle of the historical city.

Great Location but the heat didn’t work and the towel heater didn’t work and my shower stand was broken.

This property is in a great location. My biggest complaint is that at check-in the front desk offered me a 30 euro per night upgrade to a King size bed, but when I got in the room they had put 2 double beds together and considered that a king. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Also the room was very small 10 x 10 I'd guess, barely enough room to open a suitcase

We were well pleased with our 4 night stay at Hotel Paris Opera. Every single one of the hotel employees was friendly and helpful throughtout our stay. We even checked out for one night when we went out of town and were coming back the next night and they let us leave our bags in their secured storage area. We lost a bag on the train and one of the desk staff did his very best to call the train station for us and speak to them in French explaining our situation. Truly helpful and friendly. Would absolutely stay here again! AND they have air conditioning!!! :)

Perfectly adequate

This hotel is more like a nice 3 star than a 4 star. It has a renovated appearance but it’s not quality. Our room is facing the street and is very noisy at night. This doesn’t bother me as I find street noise soothing (thanks to years of NYC living) but some may find it difficult to sleep. You can actually hear conversations in the pubs below. Being in the city, you will see the occasional roach but it’s hard to fault the hotel. What I can fault them for is the horrid cleaning solutions they use for the rooms. We had to air the room out with all windows and door wide open for a good 30 minutes to get the overwhelmingly pungent chemical smell out. Please people, use gentle scents or even better, unscented products! It’s a killer for people with allergies and asthma. The area is chock a block with restaurants and cafes and shopping. For me not super interesting but nice enough. We love the electric scooters and have been zipping around easily to other neighborhoods. All in all the hotel is ok but would not be my first choice upon return.

The location is perfect, so conveniently located with Grands Boulevards metro on the front door. The room was simple but clean. Some small signs of wear and tear but fine. Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. Otherwise, was great.

Room and bathroom are very tiny, but the worst is that you can not turn on the AC in your room, the hotel turned off the whole system. When I told them it was to hot, their answer was the system is off because of the whether.. But it was hot!!

This hotel is very well maintained and has a very friendly and helpful staff. Be prepared for a small room, and an even smaller bathroom. The shower stall is wonderful, but truly tiny. The location is excellent with plenty of restaurant and shopping options very close by.

Good but not great.

This hotel has a great location. Lots of cafès and right next to the metro. I have a few complaints though, the beds are really uncomfortable! Like 30 years ago spring mattress uncomfortably. Also the rooms are really small.

Hotel Paris Opera

Good location, the metro is right outside the door of the hotel, although we didn't use it as we decided to walk everywhere. Lots or bars and restaurants nearby. Our room was at the back of the hotel so we had no noise from the busy road. Our room had a window with a not so pleasing view of other peoples windows and rubbish on the floor. The room was clean and tidy, there was a safe and mini bar, but unfortunately we had no tea or coffee making facilities which was a big let down for me! The bedroom size was ok but the bathroom was so tiny! The door opened into the bathroom meaning only 1 person could fit in there at a time. The room was also really and with no air con to cool down, we had to open the windows before going to sleep.

Room gets very hot as you cannot control thermostat from the room. Elevators are horribly small. Traveling with children is not ideal to stay at this hotel.

Hotel was amazing however the air conditioning wasn't great and the room was quite warm at night. No other complaints at all, hotel was very good.

Smallest rooms ever. Very bad services

I was given a room the smallest I ever seen in my life. It had a little window directly on the vaccum of a restaurant nearby. Worst room ever!! Don’t sray there, the hotel is not worth 4 star and there are plenty 3 stat hotels nearby much better. I adressed my issue to the front but nothing was done. They promised to change my room the day after. I spent a terrible night and the day after they said that they can’t change it as promised. I directly left the hotel and took another one nearby way better.

Decent hotel but can really do with update

Central location, convenient for my purpose (business). Room at a glance looks modern but closer inspection can really do with update. Bathroom: big cracked on bottom corner of mirror (obstruct by 2 glasses place in front), hair dryer has seen better days (grubby and cracked handle), towel heater has gunk stuck on the bar. Room: small but norm for Parisian hotel, simply decorated, high ceiling; had to push desk over towards the other wall in order to open the wardrobe properly; comfortable bed; only 2 sockets available; old fashion heat radiator and cannot control, very warm and needed to leave window open; tiny safe (only enough room to keep passport/ small valuables), safe instructions provided is for different safe and not for the safe installed; Staff pleasant enough, polite and friendly.

Made our trip to Paris memorable

Lovely hotel perfectly located, with friendly staff. The rooms were perfect with bunk beds for the kids. Rooms were modern, clean and warm. Taxi and train service outside the hotel, with tons of restaurants in walking distance. Must try the pastries from "Pauls" around the corner - like wow!!! Get the option with breakfast, great range of food. Totally recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff

I arrived at the hotel around 11 am and even though check-in was not until 2 pm, the desk staff immediately set out to see if my room was ready (it was !). Most places will give you the stock answer of "it's not ready until 2 pm" without checking. The desk personnel were all young, but very knowledgeable and friendly in several languages besides French. They made me feel as if I was valued guest. It set the tone for my entire stay there.

First night stayed in a room facing the street and a noisy club/bar/discotech that on a Monday evening (!) carried on till 3am. Staff was nice and changed the room (they are surely aware of issue). 2nd night went without problem or noise. Make sure to ask for room away from noise

Great first time visit

This hotel has been recently updated and has nice features. Almost every one of the staff were nice & most spoke English and was more than willing to answer any questions. The location was right beside the Metro & close to many cafes and shops. We had no problems with the internet as previously reported but indeed no AC. The weather was nice and we could open the window in the evenings so it was really comfortable.

My first stay in Paris and was very pleased with the central location of the hotel, with easy access to the Attractions and the Metro. The room was a reasonable size and was clean and tidy. However, the toilet was near the front door and not in the bathroom which was located at the back of the bedroom, which I found a little odd. The only downside was the hotel was next to an Irish bar which on a Friday and Saturday night has a DJ on until 5am. This would not have been so bad but the heating could not be adjusted and the room was really hot, and if the window were opened the music blared, keeping you awake.

Lovely Hotel. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The only two things that let it down were the bed (which rolled to the middle) and the room being so hot and noisy from the air conditioning units outside our window. But with ear plugs the noise wasn't a problem.

Excellent hotel!

Very convenient location - right across from a Metro stop, in a busy and fun area of town, across the street form the lovely cafe Le Cafe Zephyr. We were able to walk to many locations with ease, including the Louvre (around 20 minutes). We really enjoyed it! The room was clean and well-kept. Would definitely stay here again!

A good hotel with easy walking distance to tourist

We, a party of three booked a family room from Expedia. When we arrived in February 21, the outside and the lobby looked a bit shabby. But I was pleasantly surprised. The check-in person was nice and it was fast and smooth. Our room was on 3rd floor and the elevator was tiny. We, three could hardly fit in. The hallway was just a maze of doors. When we entered our room, I was very impressed. It has a living room with couch, large desk with television on the wall, a arm-chair and a bunk bed for two. The bathroom was large with bathtub and shower, The bedroom had a large King size bed. The sitting room also has a minibar and coffee making stuff. I was impressed that it was the size of a small apartment. There was a Irish bar next door but our room was at the back from the street and it was quiet.. Only minor issue is that even if it was large, it did not have chest of drawers. Anyway, I should not quibble. They had closet and a safe. The location is fantastic. The Grande Boulevards Metro is just outside the door. A lot of tourist places are within walking distance. It is a pleasant walk taking in the Paris Street sights. The checkout was very pleasant also. I would definitely stay here again. We paid $236.00 per night but I think I paid $30.00 per night extra to Expedia for being able to cancel, if needs be. may be direct booking is cheaper. All in all, I am very happy with Tryp Paris Opera hotel. Recommended. Room Tip: Back rooms are quiet but no view

Very good place in the city center. Metro Station in front of the hotel gate. A little bit noisy as the walls is not sound proof. Very helpful staff, they send me hot water for tea to the room Evey time I ordered it.

Small, Clean, Great Location

We stayed over the weekend in January, the staff were very friendly that we met and the room was clean and neat. While it was small room it had all the essentials and a comfortable double bed, good wifi, lovley bathroom and was very central. Right on the Grand Boulevard with lots of restaurants, bars and things to do as well as being close to the station so we could get around easily. If you want a large room with lots of space don't pick here. If you plan to be out enjoying the city and want a comfy and clean place that is centrally located to come back to in the evening then this place is perfect. Will stay at again

No wifi service but good looking location

The place was ok but the wifi was very slow. The room was small and it got very warm. Location was great for metro, bus and restaurant. Staff was very friendly. They need to get a faster wifi service

Very convenient hotel for exploring Paris

The hotel was very central. The room was quite small but comfortable when you consider how much time us actually spent in the room. Perhaps a superior room would be better. Our only gripe was the extremely small shower. It is a very busy street but very convenient. Staff very helpful.

Hotel has everything near, you can walk everywhere, very near Eiffel Tour, Champs Elises, Louvre Museum. Good food near the hotel, boulangeries, supermarkets, pubs. I absolutely recommend this hotel.
