Good place
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to help.
Wonderful service and the breakfast every morning!
Such a cute hotel right in the heart of the shopping district. The building was very old and creaky which we thought was lovely, quaint and gave us that rustic feeling. Our room had nice sized terrace overlooking the busy street and we could see the Spanish steps from there as well. Even though it was busy outside the room was very quiet and we had no issues falling asleep during the day to quell our jet lag. The staff was friendly and helpful. The staff do go off duty at 11pm but we had no issues coming and going after hours, as they provide a key to the locked front door. Even though we did sleep through the continental breakfast times one day, the lady who managed the breakfast and cleaning on the top floor made us a cappuccino and helped us get a few snacks for the road! We were very grateful. Good dining options a couple streets down and lots of available scooters to rent if you’re looking to get around quickly without walking or renting cars. Our only complaint is the bed was a little bouncy and felt old, but not horrible. They say on the listing that it’s a double size ( in Canada double size is pretty small) but it seemed closer to a queen size to us, and fit me and my 6”2 husband no problem! Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet hotel with a rustic Roma feeling while being centrally located near shopping and Trevi fountain ( a couple minutes on the scooter). I think we only saw another guest one time at breakfast during our stay on a weekend.
Location Location Location in a terrific boutique hotel with a lot of soul. The terrace for breakfast was enchanting and the staff delightful. I will definitely be back.
The hotel is in a great position very close to shopping, sites and restaurants. The staff were very kind and welcoming they arranged for transportation as well as making recommendations for dining. All of the staff that we encountered were genuinely friendly.
The property was fine, and close to Villa Borghese, which i was planning to visit during this short stay in Rome, yet- i wasnt thrilled with fre things: 1. Property was not attended by staff 24/7, i had a key to the entrance door, which i didnt particularly enjoyed. 2. The wonderful terrace they post on the website is not there. And that terrace was one of the reasons i picjet the hotel from numerous options. 3. I asked front desk to book me a taxi to the airpot and Hotel management offered me a 65 euro rate to get to Ciampino Airport, when an official taxi rate is 31 euros, in addition they explained high price as a "night rate", because i needed a taxi at 5 am. This is also a scam, as there are no night/day rate differences. But what really raised my eyebrows- they wanted me to pay full price in cash a day in advance. Naturally I didnt use their services. I am not certain staff at this hotel should be in hospitality industry. Oh, and regrettably, i had the worst cappuccino there, when i attended the breakfast.
Location is excellent . Cleanliness is excellent. Staff are excellent. Bathroom not good. Remove large bath and replace with shower only Breakfast is only ok . Muesli finished on first day of stay was not replaced on days 2 and 3 .
We love the hotel. The service desk was so helpful. We love the location and charm of the hotel.
Loved the room and the breakfast was very satisfying, served in a lovely room with pretty rooftop views.. the staff was very friendly and the location was excellent
Would go again
It was really good and in a very good location. The service was exceptional. Would recommend and stay there again
Good location and good value for money. A fine middle of the road hotel for a city like Rome.
We stayed twice, so so room on 4th floor , great room on 5th , very good breakfast but other places better, helpful staff in tiny lobby, funny elevator but it worked well.
Air conditioning was out of order and was forced to leave the windows open - needless to say I did not get much sleep given that it was the end of August in a heat wave (not to mention the noise from the street until 2 am).
Very convenient right near Spanish Steps. Breakfast was continental - spread was adequate. Very favorable experience with reception. Had a dental emergency on a Friday afternoon - in August. No dentists available. Found an e
JEWELRY WAS STOLEN
our jewelry was stolen-3 rings, distinctly left it in then suitcase, our fault for not locking our luggages unfortunately we didn’t notice till we got back home that the whole jewelry pouch was missing. hotel room, beds and bathrooms were all old and uncomfortable.only positive thing is that it’s right in the center of the shopping area. otherwise wouldn’t recommend at all..save ur back and belongings- book somewhere else.
Very nice hotel.Great location.Staff was amazing. No iron cause of wall carpets. Best value for money I got in europe.
1st time in Rrome
Location is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again
Perfectly located, great staff
Great breakfast, great location and great staff!
Great location! Near main shopping streets and restaurants.
Cute Hotel, but not giving value for money.
Only 8 rooms, great location.
It is located in the real center of Rome, near to all what it worth to see in Rome. The breakfast is satisfactury, the room is clean and heated. A very nice and kind staff.
Great Location + a Smile
The best thing about this Hotel is the friendly atmosphere and the great location. Paola was very helpful.
Is an old hotel, but well location
Great location but average rooms
Great location. Room was small and shower was almost unusable. Air conditioning was poor but overall friendliness and service good. Ok for I nights stay but wouldn't stay longer.
small friendly
great small boutique hotel, the staff said hi to us when they saw us on the street! comfortable room in the center of everything
Roma
Great location, not the best hotel but nice & cheap
Cozy hotel in a perfect location at good price
We arrive Roma Termini and took a taxi to the hotel. Due to its location (very close to the Piazza di Espagna), and having "Piazza di Espagna" in the name of the hotel, the taxi drivers refused to drive to the hotel doorstep, and we had to walk the luggage the last couple blocks. Other than this, the experience was first class.
Terrible, lazy front desk staff
We stayed here our last night in Rome before departing for the airport early the next morning. While the gentleman at the front desk upon our arrival was very pleasant and friendly, something obviously went terribly wrong during the shift change. We had been told that our early departure would not be a problem - we could pay the city tax by credit card and they would call a cab to take us to the airport. However, when we called down to the night front desk attendant to ask her to call a cab, she simply didn't do it. We arrived in the lobby to check out and no cab had been called. She instead proceeded to try to talk us out of calling a cab and to use the hotel's (more expensive) private service. We also were not permitted to pay the city tax on our credit card, and she was unable to make any change for our cash payment. We overpaid the tax and getting a cab was like pulling teeth. It was all very unprofessional.
location location...
stayed few times, great location, very very good for a 3 stars
Perfect Location
The location is perfect. The hotel is in the middle of everything. It has the charm of Italy and was comfortable enough for our stay.
Rome hotel
the room temperature was far too hot and we had to open the window on and off all night to let cool air in! a perfect position for us.
Nice location, friendly service.
Stayed here one night in the middle of October, the hotel is in a fairly convenient location to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain and other tourist attractions. The area is extremely busy in the day with shopping, and very quiet at night. In the immediate area there are not a lot of nighttime options for dinner, cafe's, bars etc. The room was nice, very clean, we were on the 5th floor (top floor) next to breakfast area. You could hear noise from the breakfast area but was not a problem for us. I would say the only downside we experienced was the shower. The shower stall itself was really small and the the water never really got warm/hot, if we stayed more nights it probably would have bothered us more. Breakfast - was very basic, was in expectations for price of hotel etc.
Great hotel in a great area of town
La Lumiere di Piazza di Spagna is in a great location near the Spanish Steps, and centrally located to most other attractions. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were very helpful, and breakfast in the roof top breakfast room was very good. The only 'complaint' I would have was connecting to the internet. The only place I could connect was in one chair in the small lobby near the desk. We would highly recommend staying here.
CUTE HOTEL, BUT SMALL ROOMS
Hotel was clean and neat. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, but only spoke moderate English. Breakfast was good, but simple. Breads, Fruits, Cereal, Coffee, meats and cheeses. Always clean and comfortable. Three minute walk to the Spanish Steps. Only negative was the excessive amount of noise outside the windows every night until 2 am or later-- especially on the weekends-- due to the proximity to shopping and night life. Would not stay here again with children.
Lumiere - light and snow!
Great location, friendly staff and good value. I would definitely use this hotel again for a short trip.
Outstanding Location Near Spanish Steps
This is the 5th or 6th time I have stayed at this hotel. The location is outstanding, staff pleasant and helpful and rooms larger than most all Italian hotels at this price point. Only disappointment on this trip was that my requested non-smoking room had been someone's smoking room. The odor was absolutely horrendous. I asked to be moved and only one room was available. Was traveling with a friend so we had to give up a twin bed room for a queen bed room. We made it work for one night. I jokingly commented that I hope they collected a very large fine for the person(s) who smoked in the room but got the impression they did not. They should have b/c the room will be very unpleasant for non-smokers for a very long time.
Hotel not bad
Hotel is in an incredible location. Three blocks from the Spanish Steps. But don't expect any other hotel services. No lobby to sit in and the terrace advertised on the web is generally not accessible for much of the day. Breakfast is coffee and cereal. There is a 24 hour desk clerk, but don't expect typical concierge services. Also something that surprised me is that you have to pay on site and not through Hotels.com in advance. I didn't read the fine print and was surprised when I was presented a bill upon check out.
Good hotel - needs to provide an iron to guests
The hotel needs to provide an iron for guests, even if it is in a common area such as the breakfast room
Helped make our trip to Italy special.
This hotel has the perfect location for seeing Rome. We could look out our window left and see right up the Spanish Steps! Because of our location, we walked to many of the great sites of the city, and when we wanted to take the metro, the stop was nearby. The staff was extremely helpful, with maps that they set up for us each day when we headed out. Any questions we had were quickly answered, and their English was excellent. This hotel has a lovely room on the very top where they serve breakfast, with a terrific view as it it all windows. We got there at about ten in the morning after an all night flight. We had had the hotel set up a car for us from the airport (you can take the train in, but we knew we would be tired and the first time in Italy, so decided that this was money well spent). When we arrived our room was ready and we were able to unpack a bit and then head out into the city. We can't really say enough about the location, or the helpfulness of the staff. Thank you for our wonderful stay at your hotel!
Bra hotell med sentral beliggenhet
Lite, men bra hotell veldig sentralt like ved spansketrappene. Ikke mye støy fra gata. God frokost og trivelige folk. Fin takterrasse.
Gode spisemuligheder i området.
exellent location!
Exellent location! Friendly staff! Old but nice. Not noise around. Breakfast could be better.Wi-fi works.
Só vale a localização
Muito velho, sujo. Café da manhã ruim. O único ponto positivo é a localização. Banheiro minúsculo e sujo. Não voltarei
