Could so easily be great.

The hotel is in a great location directly next to the slopes. The hotel reception staff were really helpful and friendly. It was clean and the room was comfortable. There were a few things that let it down unfortunately. We asked at the restaurant if they had vegan options at lunch and the lady who I think was the restaurant manager was very rude to us them glared at us each time she saw us. It made it somewhat uncomfortable. The pool and the jacuzzi were uncomfortably cool - the sign said the jacuzzi was 36degrees but it definitely wasn’t- it also had jets that sent out even colder water. In our room we were not provided with robes- I think this was just an oversight but very much missed when we went to the pool. We asked at the pool for towels and were told if we took them from the pool there was a charge. We could bring them from a room however if we didn’t want to pay. Never seen that in a hotel before. The gym was very dreary and looked like a storage room with gym equipment dumped in there. It wouldn’t take much to give it a lift.

Good value hotel.

I stopped in Kranjska Gora for 1 night only as I wanted to visit this famous village. The hotel room was OK, the hotel seems to be one of the older ones, my room was clean and the staff was welcoming and helpful. Good and free parking facilities.

Kompas is a big hotel that gets bus loads of foreign tourists but nice rooms and an all you can eat breakfast buffet. It is right in Granska Gora and so it’s easy to walk around the little town.

3 nights in Kranjska Gora.

Great lovely hotel in every respect but no air conditioning in our room and no fan and although the bed was extremely comfy it was so hot that the three nights we stayed were to say the least not the best night's sleep we have had.

Great place across the street from the ski lift. After skiing they have a nice pool and a play area for children. Would stay there again!

The property was easy to find, but gaining access was gated. In the dark it was a challenge to know what to do without posted instructions. Leaving the property was the same. The property is outdated plain and simple. No AC in the rooms or even a ceiling fan to move air around. The door to the balcony was broken so it could open but never fully close and latch. The hair dryer was worthless. The do not disturb sign was tucked into the closet and it took a day for us find but then it kept falling off the door handle when you open/closed door. There was a kettle and cups for hot drinks but no coffee/tea. TV channels were plentiful and the TV itself was modern. Staff at the front desk were obviously not into genuine hospitality. They seemed to forget that we had never been there so something as simple as locating stairs to get the room was greeeted with a curt “those are the ONLY stairs”. This arrogant feel was repeated many times. They have a pool and spa but you have to pay for the pool. Spa services I expect to be extra for but access to the pool as a guest sounds a bit much. Breakfast was good and efficient. Many items to choose from and we ate enough to fuel our hikes and adventures. The hotel sits at the base of a chair lift so access to the slopes in the winter must be a positive. The town itself is quaint and walkable from the hotel. We ate at a different restaurant off the property each night so we cannot comment on the food at the restaurant on site (Bor I think).

Rude restaurant experience

Hotel was nice. However we had horrible experience at the breakfast buffet. We walked in to dining area which appeared to be open seating buffet. Sat down and just before finishing our meal a hostess came up and rudely said Dutch or English? We said English and she told us we took another clusters reserved table and needed to leave. She was very rude and made a big scene. We honestly had never experienced reserved seating at free hotel breakfast and had no idea we did something wrong. It was not intentional, and handled very poorly. We were treated with such disrespect it clouded the otherwise nice stay.

Great location...average facility

Outstanding location with great scenery. However the location was an older location that needs renovation. Rooms were spacious but not comfortable. Mattress were weak...washroom needs renovation. Overall very clean rooms

Superb staff & service

Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff, providing a meal on a couple of occasions when the restaurant was closed. Nice clean hotel and bedrooms. Would recommend.

Comfortable hotel, but thin pillows

We spent 3 nights in the Hotel Kompas in September. It is on the edge of Kranjska Gora, but it takes only 5 minutes to walk to the centre and, for winter visitors, the ski lifts are across the road. The decor is slightly old-fashioned (it was built in the 1970s, I believe) but perfectly acceptable. The bed was comfortable though I found the pillows rather thin. There was a good selection at the breakfast buffet. We had one meal in the hotel. This was a dinner buffet and we were quite late arriving. It was fine but not great. There is a very nice restaurant just beside the hotel. I would be happy to stay here again.

reasonable hotel.

Intended to make reservations for hotel Kompas in Bled, got mixed up and found out that our reservation in to Kompas in Kranjska Gora. When we arrived, the hotel staff wasn't sensitive to our disappointment and treated us with indifference and misunderstanding. The rooms were very small and on the ground floor. The staff were very uncooperative in making an effort to change our rooms. After we got used to the place, we enjoyed our stay. The landscape is beautiful, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was good.

Lovely hotel with relaxed atmosphere

Fantastic location close to local facilities, great food and staff who provided service with a smile. Ideal place for walking, cycling and just exploring the region including Lake Bled which was 45 minutes away in a car. Really enjoyed the hotel, Kranska Gora and whole area.

Rooms are enough big, old furniture, with nice terrace and mountain view. SPA is OK, not so big pool but with hot tab, 2 saunas and Turkish bath. Pool is included in the price , for hotel guests, but 15 €/person/day extra, for saunas and bathrobe. Very polite and helpful personnel in restaurant and SPA. Food is ok only if there is a event or group visit. Other vice it is not in line with 4 * hotel. WiFi in the room, not so good (depends on the position), but in the lobby it was OK. Nature is amassing, quite, good to relax, nice to visit any time of the year.

Very nice setting. Very nice property. The wellness center was quite nice. Xenia (spelling?) there was quite helpful. I just wish the room had A/C. (it was in the 90s).

Hotel stay

Hotel was comfortable if a little dated. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel seems mainly to cater for tour groups. It was summer time, off season and quiet.

Great base for climbs

We stayed a total of four nights while hiking in the Julian Alps. The hotel was very accommodating, at one point allowing us to extend an extra night when the weather was bad. The staff (whose English overall was quite good) also helped us change a reservation at one of the mountain huts. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the free wi-fi was easy to use and had a good connection. We would stay at the Kompas again if in KG.

Good hotel for outdoor activities

The staff was really friendly and professional. The hotel itself is a bit old and you can see it in the room, e.g. furniture. But everything was clean and the breakfast was delicious as well. So nothing to complain here.

Nice location, outstanding breakfast buffet

Gutes Hotel in perfekter Lage. Das Zentrum ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Viele Ausflugsziele sind nur wenige Autominuten entfernt. Viele Wandermöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und es gibt viel Auswahl. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind sauber und groß genug, allerdings schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Alles gut, Mobiliar/ Ausstattung in die Jahre gekommen und Fitness sollte nicht erst 09:00 Uhr öffnen.

Gutes Hotel in perfekter Umgebung

Sehr nette und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Sauberes Zimmer, ruhig und komfortabel. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Es gab aber leider keinen Fisch (Lachs). Die Umgebung, der Parkplatz, die Lage … lädt zum Wiederkommen ein. Lediglich Kritik hätte ich zum Schwimmbad. Öffnungszeiten von 9 Uhr bis 19 Uhr! Das ist nicht Gäste freundlich, da man vor 19 Uhr meist gar nicht im Hotel ist. Eine Runde Schwimmen vor dem Frühstück ( so gegen 7 Uhr) wird dadurch auch verwährt.

Wir haben Kompas gebucht, aber i Ramada übernachtet. Zur gleichen Bedingungen. Hat alles gepasst. Nur das Zimmer war kleiner. Für eine Nacht spielte es keine Rolle.

Everything is fine and dandy.

Il nostro soggiorno è stato piacevole,la camera era ampia,pulita e con ottimi materassi...oltre a due TV! Personale sempre disponibile e presente, colazione buona,cena a buffet accettabile...piscina piacevole,non era la nostra prima volta in questo hotel e torneremo volentieri. Unico appunto,la struttura andrebbe ammodernata nella facciata e nell'arredamento delle camere... comunque rimane una buona struttura

L'albergo è in centro per cui molto comodo. La piscina è vecchia e l'acqua fredda e chiude troppo presto alle 19. La colazione abbondante. La cena molto triste con pochissima scelta e l'orario fino alle 20.30 è ristretto.

Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo

Pulzia camera ottima, qualità servizi buoni. Otima posizione dell'hotel rispetto alle piste di sci da discesa.

エレベーターが降りしか使えなかったので、３階まで毎日登るのが大変だった。特にチェックイン時、スーツケースを持って上がるのは大変だった。

Super Küche!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden im Hotel Kompas. Das Zimmer mit Balkon im Erdgeschoss hat uns zugesagt. Deutsche Sender im TV vorhanden. Schwimmbad ok, jedoch klein, wenn das Hotel ausgebucht ist. Die hotelküche war klasse. Das Frühstücksbüffet sowie abendbuffet war abwechslungsreich und wir wurden immer mehr als satt!! Wir würden wiederkommen!!

Hotel imponente dall'aspetto curato e lussuoso nonostante lo stile sia un po' datato. Staff gentile, qualcuno parla bene l'italiano. La camera, forse da rinnovare nello stile, era pulita e confortevole, così come il bagno; aggiungerei sicuramente un bollitore che forse ci si aspetta in un 4stelle. Abbiamo provato la piscina che era pulita e in ordine con vasca idromassaggio accesa al nostro ingresso. Il buffet, sia della cena, sia della colazione, è davvero molto ricco e vario, certo in questa modalità non si hanno portate raffinate impiattate da chef, ma per le mie esigenze andava benissimo. Mi ha dato l'impressione di essere un posto molto curato ed organizzato nonostante la grande quantità di ospiti.
