When I was going from the airport to the hotel outside they wanted to steal the people that were outside the hotel, nobody did anything, I ended up hitting the eye that until today, February 24, I have the contusion in my eye that is better, and I left to rent another hotel. the place is too dangerous to stay and i Pay in other hotel 50 usd per night, I want the refund of my money also I have the ensure but didnt answer the emails, I have used expedia to travel to other countries like Dubai with my girlfriend previously and never i have problems like that
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However, none spoke English and that made it very difficult if you did not speak Spanish, The hotel was interesting and even kind of fun in a funky, another era, way but was old and lacked many amenities of newer facilities. The location was very good for exploring the historic district but was sketchy after dark. There were some very good restaurants in the nearby Ronda Alley but again walking there and back after dark made you a little uneasy. The price was outstanding and more than compensated for the drawbacks. In all, an excellent value but don't expect a place you would wish to never leave.
Great value
This is an older establishment in the historic center of Quito. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff went out of their way to get a table and chair into my room so I could use it as a desk (I had some work that I needed to do in the evenings). The rate included a hot breakfast, made for you specifically (not a buffet). The staff spoke limited English but with my limited Spanish we were able to converse the necessities quite well. The area is convenient for touring all the churches and museums in the old town and it is one block from La Ronda, the area with lots of restaurants and where all the action happens on Friday and Saturday nights.
Difficult to find after dark.
As the facade was completely obscured by grubby generic shutters and thee was no light to illuminate the hotel name the taxi driver was obliged to drive around and around before he found the street number. The high doorbell summoned the clatter of inner gates. The bundled figure disappeared into the dark leaving us to stumble about in the dark. The room was tiny. It was midnight we were too tired to do much more than go to sleep. The shabby room was nothing like the photos. We decided to change hotels. The receptionist wanted to charge us for the two nights we had booked. She went off to check with someone and charged for the one night. The prices charged by this hotel are a rip off. Other much nicer hotels in the same area charge a third of the price. Buyer beware!2

Cute room in quirky hotel
I spent 1 night at this hotel before the start of my trip. It's in a good location in the historic centre next to the church and around the corner is a street filled with bars and restaurants that comes alive at night. My room was small but comfortable with a good sized bathroom with lots of hot water. There was also a TV in my room .I would definitely stay again. I missed the free breakfast cause my tour started so early the next morning. This hotel also has free wifi.
