Great staff, friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for us and it is so close to one of my favorite pastry shop Buon Amici so we had pastries everyday.

Very cute and quiet location. Loved that it was a small boutique hotel. Lobby bar is adorable and rooms are a decent size. Breakfast included is a great buffet. Area is near the “local” restaurants

Perfect Florence Hideaway

Just a fantastic hotel with exceptional service from a kind and professional staff. The hotel is close enough to everything, but secluded and quiet enough to feel like your in the country. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel was great and clean. Staff were very welcoming, helpful, and kind. We received a couple of restaurant suggestions in the area when we asked for a more local experience. We were also given a quick guide on what to see around the city. Overall great experience.

I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat. The property is beautiful, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is delicious and the staff (both Giovanni and Adam) made the stay very welcoming and enjoyable.

I have visited Florence many times and this is now my favourite, my go to hotel. The hotel is first rate in every aspect, in part of an old converted convent set in its own grounds I particularly like the neighbourhood; quiet, non touristy, but with good restaurants and a 15 minute walk to the centre.

Front desk staff were extremely helpful and professional. Over all house keeping and cafe staff service was excellent.

Very enjoyable stay! Lovely historical hotel with excellent service and facilities. If we had one complaint, and it’s a stretch, it’s that the bed mattresses were very hard. Highly recommend otherwise!

Staff were welcoming and very helpful - even after our stay when a problem occurred that they assisted with. Lovely setting with outside seating area. Having a bar was quite nice and the staff again were attentive.

I booked this property because I was looking for something a bit removed from the busy Florence tourist areas. While it's a bit of a hike from most of the city's landmarks, it's well worth the walk. There are a couple divine restaurants nearby and the property itself is just lovely. It was very clean with plenty of amenities and a beautiful breakfast, and a cute bar area in the lobby. The highlight was the staff who were all gracious and inviting. Special praise goes to Giovanni at the front desk who patiently provided sight seeing information and dining recommendations; and to bartender, Adam, who was simply delightful. I would highly recommend his Limoncello Spritz and engaging conversation. If we ever return to Florence, this would be the only place I would stay.

The staff were fabulous and very helpful and courteous. We loved our stay at Horto Convento. It is not only a heritage site with a rich history but it is updated for today’s travelers. Thank you Horto Convento for making our stay in Firenze so memorable!!!

Beautiful property. Located 15 min from the train station by foot. Easy to walk to all the major sites. Great restaurants near by. Staff very helpful. My only suggestion is to add a variety of pillows (ours were hard and flat), and perhaps a chair and blanket. The ac fan was annoying and no way to turn it off. Small issues otherwise we had a great stay.

Very nice, cozy, beautiful historical boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful reception. Plenty of good caffe and restaurants around the hotel. Nice breakfast area. Breakfast was good but no fresh fruit. Room was very clean with nice view. For standard room, amenities and shower was unbelievably small and tight! There was coffee machine but no kettle in room for tea, we ask for pot of hot water and one tea bag and we have been charged for it. I never paid for tea in any hotels before! My overall experience was very good . I recommend this hotel but don’t forget about tight bathroom!

The rooms aren’t huge but they are comfortable and the historic buildings are pretty. We greatly enjoyed the breakfasts and the staff kindly lent us adapters and cords when ours didn’t charge our devices.

The staff is wonderful! Adam the bartender is amazing and friendly. Knows all the best drinks and makes you feel like you are at home.

Hotel Horto Convento is a beautiful place to stay! The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. The grounds are gorgeous and the neighborhood is quiet, but accessible to everything. We would absolutely come back!

This property was amazing. The staff were helpful and friendly and they all seemed to be bi lingual. We got a free upgrade and our room had a balcony so we got loads of fresh air which we appreciated. The hotel is in walking distance of rhe main centee but far enough to be less busy. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We unfortunately were only able to stay here for one night. But our time at Hotel Horto Convento was nothing short of wonderful. Our check-in experience was as flawless, breakfast options were fantastic, and the room was plenty spacious for our needs. The historic nature of the property made our time in Florence even more enjoyable. Hotel staff was flexible with our parking needs and allowed us to keep our vehicle there beyond checkout. Would absolutely stay here again when visiting Florence!

The hotel is a great boutique hotel away from the tourist area. I love staying near Santo Spirito. The front desk were great at making restaurant reservations for us as well as calling taxis. It's a quiet and peaceful hotel. I will definitely stay again in the future.

This beautiful boutique hotel is historically unique, situated in a less touristy neighborhood in Florence and very well managed. The attention to service and detail, the helpfulness of the staff ( before and after our stay) and the professionalism of every single employee was greatly appreciated. The rooms are very quiet with the loveliest linens and towels. Our delight was waking to a breakfast catering to every taste and dining al fresco. The wait staff is superb. Every inch of the hotel is immaculate. I would return to this lovely place on my next trip to Florence.

This is a beautiful property not too close or too far from the touristy section of Florence and very walkable. The restaurant suggestions by the staff were incredible. Shower can be a bit slippery though. Beautiful property and grounds. Amazing breakfast served in the morning. The bar staff, Adam, was fun and friendly. Would return for sure.

A beautiful hotel

A beautiful hotel. Friendly attentive staff, especially Giovanni who helped me when my suitcase was delayed. The grounds of the hotel are so pretty. The location was ideal. Just a short walk to bars and restaurants. We found a lovely restaurant on the same street. We like to be away from the busy centre so this was perfect. We will definitely be coming back.

Giovanni at the front desk was a wealth of knowledge! He helped us with parking (that part is a bit difficult, but it’s Florence so that comes with the territory) He helped us with local food places to eat and even to help us find a local laundromat. He was very communicative! The place was clean and had everything we needed.

Unique hotel and friendly staff

We loved the location of this hotel. It's not right in the heart of the city so it's a bit quieter. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful. We especially enjoyed our time with the bartender, Adam. He was so friendly and engaging and mixed some fantastic drinks!

Loved Horto Convento…our room was big with high ceilings, the bar area was welcoming and the staff was amazing. Make sure to ask Adam for his signature Machiavelli Negroni. It packs a punch!

We LOVED Hotel Horto Convento! It’s a beautiful hotel with attentive staff, a phenomenal breakfast, and a lovely courtyard for relaxing outside. Each night when we arrived back at the property after having dinner, we felt like we were staying at our own private Italian villa…it was magical.

Hotel Horto Convento is an excellent property. The design of the hotel is beautiful. The front desk staff are experts on the area and provided lots of wonderful restaurant recommendations, help with scheduling excursions, and lots of other assistance. The breakfast staff and food selections are the best. I would recommend it highly!

We stayed at this property for 6 nights and it was amazing. The check in was fast and we got an upgrade for the room. Extremely well located, we will go back for sure!

It was amazing! The only problem was the bathroom door would not open completely close due to heated towel bar, very hard to maneuveur. Otherwise a perfect stay.

So nice to be located 20 mins or so walk away from the hordes of tourists in the historic centre, and yet still feel very much in the most beautiful part of the city. The neighbourhood is very cool, with some lovely restaurants and bars on Borgo San Frediano just five minutes' walk away. The hotel itself is tucked away from the road, connected to an adjoining functioning convent, and is very peaceful, with beautiful grounds. Staff are very friendly (thanks in Dan the barman, and for Giovanni for really making us laugh). The bar area is divine, we went every evening at 7pm for cocktails before dinner. The breakfast is fantastic, hot and cold food and even some prosecco to get he day started right, with very efficient staff on hand. Rooms very comfortable, very dark so great for sleeping.

The hotel locations in a more quiet part of town. That was a welcome change thither Florence Hotels we have enjoyed. The staff was very gracious and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

With the hustle and bustle from a great deal of tourism, it was so very nice to return back to the hotel at the end of the day. The second you walk through the gates to the facility, it's like being transported to a quiet country home. Love this place and wouldn't stay anywhere else!
