for the price in Auckland was great value Bathroom could use a renovation. But for the price it was worth the stay
Expected a room and got a full one bedroom apt. Only complaint was the shower curtain wasnt long enough or wide enough so using the shower was a challenge
We were very happy with our stay. Would stay again and recommend to our friends.
Average
Kitchen was very poorly stocked. Couldn’t do anything. Half a bottle of milk still in the fridge from another guest which was gross. Shower curtains I have not seen in a hotel for a very very long time. Aircon would not go lower than 24c even when it ran all night.
Bathrooms need an upgrade
Great pricing and great facilities
Stayed on the 8th floor with amazing view of the harbour. The suite was quiet and well equipped but the bathroom required refurbishment. The swimming pool was also out of commission for the whole of our 3 night stay which was disappointing. Reception staff really friendly and helpful.
We had a studio room on level one. The balcony was dirty but still nice to have. Great location and helpful staff. We had two issues: bathroom wasnt good...small with dirty grout and broken shower head...they did rectify this when we asked and was mich better. At night the street noise was very disruptive - so much so we couldnt sleep. Cars racing and people partying...no fault of the hotel but was loud in our room. So overall the experience was a bit mixed.
Excellent location but access to the pool was off putting.
Great Hotel - The Chancellor on Hobson!
It was a short stay before heading to the airport and everything about the hotel was delightful, especially the staff! They were very helpful with making sure we had what we needed and greeted us enthusiastically each interaction. I would definitely recommend booking a stay.
Wonderful staff! Great rooms withs with kitchen, nice bath, and comfortable living and bedroom. Only a short distance from the marina.
Great location for waterfront, trains/buses, shopping, restaurants. Loved the washer and dryer in my suite room and the hot tub is excellent. Very happy
Clean and comfortable
Stayed three nights after a cruise. Fully equipped kitchen saved us a bit on meals. Appreciated the coffee and tea provided. Great location, close to everything.
Great location and friendly staff.
Easy to find, close to outlets I visited
We had a satisfying stay
The hotel is very close to the city and the wharves. It is getting tired now, and our rooms on the first floor, were a bit dark and dingy. But it suited us for the night.
The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous
Location to cruise port was good. Shower curtain could use replacing and shower was a little narrow. Overall the room worked very well for our stay.
I’ve stayed previously and it was an awful experience. With the recent rebrand, I thought I would give them a second chance, however it was just as terrible as I recall. The staff were great, the facilities were the problem. Dirty, broken tiles, missing curtain loops, cracked mirror, stained carpet and the “accessible” bathroom was not at all that - the only concession being a walk-in (tiny) shower. The water pressure was good. The bed was average to poor. I travel regularly to Auckland and have paid less to stay at better facilities. I won’t be booking here again.
Great place to stay and cheap. Staff was abit slow to check in
Staff were very helpful
Good location by wharf and intercity bus station. Hotels like fat pillows but I prefer a softer pillow.
The only blemish is the Basement Four car park numbering system. Otherwise, excellent.
Disappointed to find out parking was a addition $40 per night!
good place to stay
Was a good place to stay. Had everything we were after
Great stay. Front desk guys were wonderful- so professional, polite and helpful. They allowed me to check in early- since my flight got in very early and I was very tired. They helped me with food options and directions. Super location- you can walk to so much including the ferry !! I def recommended staying here- and it’s very reasonable.
Easy check in and available parking even for our Mini-Van.
Just about everything
Good all round. Only downside was dated bathroom.
Good location, friendly staff
We were very comfortable and it was enjoyable being situated in a great place for seeing Auckland. Car park was great. Staff were friendly and helpful.
great find, 2 blocks from the water front 2 from the tower, easy walking ,great chinese restaurant next door,
Great walkable area and near the cruise terminal
Great location
Great front reception staff. Easy parking. Room was great, had everything we needed. Good shower pressure. Only downfall was the bed was so hard and pillows too big. Couch wasnt big enough to sleep on. A nice puffy mattress cover would do the trick! All in all i would recommend! Great location too!
The airconditioner didnt work and the doors to the patio wouldnt open. Hot and stuffy. Not a pleasant experience.
Great services the moment we arrived. Accommodation is close to shopping and restaurants. We will always stay here!
Within close proximity to major activities and reasonably priced. Only LVL 2 & 3 belong to the hotel, wasn't clear while booking.
.
Perfect for what I wanted to do. However I was disappointed to find that, despite booking a room with breakfast included, I wasn't informed that the restaurant had closed between when I booked and when I arrived. I will be enquiring about a refund.
Great hotel, right in heart of the city. Lovely pool to relax in
Excellent service and clean room. We were very pleased.
Staff is very friendly, it is a service apartment so there is a 24/7 conceirge at the front. There’s a functional kitchenette if we choose to eat in. Short walk to Skycity and viaduct. enjoyed the NY fireworks at the apartment. :)
Overnight stay
Room was mostly clean. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, mattress sagging into the middle, pillows way too high & had to use cushions off couch instead. Towel rack in shower coning off the wall, tiles in shower dirty. Otherwise comfortable for 1 night stay.
Great location and awesome service
Great location.
Front desk was very helpful and professional.
Solid choice, some finer details to improve on
Great location. Nice facilities. However, the $40 per day parking fee was a bit much. Also, the need to get staff to open up the door to the gym/pool and give you access to the parking in the basement is an inconvenience. Especially when you have to leave for the airport and the staff have put up a 'back in 10 minutes' sign.
Great hotel will stay again.
Love this hotel. Great location moderately priced. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Nice handy location, close to Viaduct and Skycity short walk to both. Great price, good 24/7 room access. If i was to be a little fussy it was a bit noisy early morning with bins getting emptied out on the street by compactor trucks. I would book again
Excellent location and great staff who were all very helpful and friendly.

Short City Stay
Nice and quiet but conveniently situated. Staff friendly and helpful.
Perfect! 🙌
Very nice place to stay
Great service
All reception staff are very kind with smile. We had very good time. Sauna is nice and cozy. Location is great, very near to harbor and shopping area.
Value for money cannot be beat in CBD. Has a good gym and indoor pool . Staff all very helpful
Great location. The facilities at the Hotel are really good. Lovely swimming pool, great Spa and Sauna. The room had all cooking utensils so that we could cook breakfast. Comfy bed, great having balconies that you could see The Sky Tower from. Staff very polite. An enjoyable break away.
Check in was tedious, staff are unfriendly. Room smelled stale and smoky.
Great value for money clean and tidy spacious room. The pool spa sauna amazing. The staff were very friendly. It was 5min walk to Sky tower close to most things will definitely be back
clean room and nice facilities
Rooms are old and tired, mouldy curtain, broken and mouldy tiles in bathroom, shower tap plate coming off wall - this is NOT 4-star. AND BEWARE as they sting you for the full amount at check-in ($400 for a studio), $40 for a carpark a $250 bond - I've only ever handed over my credit card for a hotel to take an imprint, so I was annoyed about this. No signage in lobby to suggest it is the Chancellor. Location is good, proximity to the city is good, but this is not an intl standard 4-star - more like 3 star at most.
Fine
Excellent view, well equipped apartments, great location. Breakfast buffet is being discontinued. Helpful staff.
The best thing about the hotel is the location. The room was clean but tatty (scuff marks on walls, crack down front of dishwasher, full ashtray out on balcony table). To get into the gym or parking you have to go to reception and ask someone to let you through, I recommend not doing this near check in/ check out time as with one staff member and a long queue you will wait a while.
Very friendly staff
For the price. With great CBD location helpful staff and gym hard to
greta location - easy to drive to and get out from. Wifi very weak.
Old school showerhead over a skinny bathtub type room, everything else ok; renovations planned 2025?
Stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was nice and roomy. Well presented. Amenities were good with the sauna etc.
Outdated hotel, but convenient location in the city centre. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast
The staff are as always brilliant to deal with, we are regulars you see so already know them by name too. The room we stayed in 205 is in need of refurbishing. The walls are getting grubby, the carpet is very frayed at the edges especially by the kitchen. The touch lamp on the rhs of the bed does not work properly. I like that there are handrails by the bath. Also, the pool, spa and sauna is always a big plus for us. Cheers Marge and Sid
Would stay again if price right
Good location and well priced. Bed was comfortable. But service and cleaning could do with some help!
Good budget hotel in convenient part of Auckland for the harbour area.
Was really handy for downtown. Beds were comfy but pillows not great. Pool area looked good. Make sure that you confirm a carpark space (if required). Clean. Bathrooms need upgrading.
The hotel was in easy walking distance to the Viaduct and the Britomart area, so handy to shops and the business district. The room was of a good size, the bed was comfortable and the shower had excellent pressure. Room rate was competitive. Would stay again.
Was all good.
Fridge wasn't turned on and took a while to chill. Bathroom door handle was loose. Hotel was convenient to downtown and walking distance so no need to use car once it was parked.
Everything was good except the bathroom was not a good standard. On checkout I advised the receptionist that that bath had several chips in the bottom and also outside the bath the skirting board looked mouldy. Also the floor looked like it had water damage. The receptionist noted my concern so I hope the necessary action to tidy it up has been taken/
Helpful staff
Staff were really helpful, the heating stopped working in my room and I had 2 people come to look at it and eventually got it fixed, they also brought me a portable heater! the tv remote wasn’t working great after they gave me new batteries which didn’t make a difference so they gave me a new remote! House keeping were great asked me everyday if I needed my room making up or if I needed anything topped up, fresh towels daily, more than accommodating! Highly recommend amazing location and great price!
Loved the swimming/spa pool.
Perfect location for a break. The Hotel has great facilities. Pool, Spa and Sauna. Lovely spacious apartment with great sea views/harbour. Well equiped kitchen if you felt like cooking. A lovely stay, would love to book the apartment again.
Pool was nice
Good value for money. I found the check in a lot to remember. Also very weird to ask reception to go to the car park or pool every time
I liked the location and walkable distance from downtown Akld and my work location . Staff were super helpful, and friendly on arrival. I did wake to some noise at night and I would have liked access to a full length mirror. Shower curtain also a little tired.
Great location for viaduct and cad eateries - all walking distance. But being cbd was a bit noisy with road traffic noise. They heating was a little suspect and noisy - had to turn off to sleep. Staff took a long time - over 10 minutes - to check me in, saying they had a new computer system that it seemed they had little training on and had difficulties. Parking was available although expensive, and access via the lifts had to be approved by the reception each time -why not use the pass cards for the rooms to do this??? Overall the stay was satisfactory only, and yes for the price I would stay again but do some research for cheaper parking next time I have business in Auckland CBD.
$40 per night for in-house parking was good deal.
The security is really good, and the secure parking is definitely reassuring. Its great knowing your vehicle's are well protected.
Our room had mould on the curtains and a very average bathroom with mould in the grout. Bes was comfy though
The property was centrally located and nice and tidy. Staff were pleasant. The room was larger than expected with separate living and bedroom. The bed was remarkably uncomfortable with a big sag in the middle meaning it was impossible to sleep without roll together. It was hopeless for a sore back/
Good location. Pity the mattress on the bed was uncomfortable.
False advertising. Stated it was a queen bed but it was 2 singles pushed together, shower floor dirty and shower drain cap broken and moves making it slippery.
Close to port for boat,great
Reception faff rude room smelling
Disappointed
Have stayed here before , but this time there was no spare blankets to put on the bed so froze all night the room was cold as the air con only blew cold air and bed was very very hard Was quite disappointed as we found it was suitable at our previous stays
Good service and parking the heating in the room only worked one night out of five. and there was only one medium fry pan to cook it would help if there was a pot or 2.
Top location at reasonable price and parking on site.
Front desk staff are really good!!,must be hard being patient when people can be so rude

the front desk employees are very helpful. we had a room with a Kitchenette and we like that we had a table in our room to eat at as well as a microwave , dishwasher, and cooktop.
