The housekeeping staff are amazing, this one lady Lydia delivered us a dental kit and was so sweet and welcoming it was such a pleasant experience. All the staff were amazing, the fishbowl cocktails at Sebastian's bar are 11/10
Very Good Service
Very good service. Thank you.
Good breakfast
We are return visitors to this hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast, only down side is they need better pillows. They are lumpy and uncomfortable.
It was a great way to spend a fun weekend with family from interstate
The room was nicely furnished and clean, however the some of expense used on refit may of been used better an extra glaze on windows to reduce noise
Stayed over 20 nights this year 2024 and will continue to return
Can improve
Adelaide City Stay
Great place to be based near the centre of the city. Close walking distance to the trains, trams and shopping… the but the only bad thing is they don’t make up rooms on a Sunday (funny that they still charge the normal full service rate)
The room was very nice and clean
A convenient, well maintained hotel. My room had no view & n access to fresh air. Biggest issue was the complete failure of the online room service order system … got confirmation receipt; waited an hour … the maintain they didn’t receive the order. They were gracious and apologetic but it was going to take another 45 mins to deliver. It was easier to leave the hotel for one of the many adjacent restaurants.
Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would have liked a room safe .
This hotel is very conveniently located - it’s a very short walk to the Rundle pedestrian mall, to trams, and to the train station. This made it very easy to get to Brighton Beach, for example. The room I had was large and very comfortable. The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! Room service was quick, and the options were reasonably good. The gym is small, but well equipped, and the pool area, again small, is quite nice. According to Expedia, this was a “VIP Access” hotel, or I was supposed to have VIP Access. To be honest, I don’t know what this means, but I don’t believe I received any extra perks. My one complaint during my stay was that on Saturday night a cover band was playing either at the hotel or nearby, and they were very loud and very bad. My room was on the second floor, and I could not escape the noise except by having the TV on pretty loud. But it was quiet the other two nights I stayed. I highly recommend this hotel, but if you are staying on the weekend and want quiet, maybe ask for a room on a high floor.
Thumbs up
Work trip, had everything that I needed. Great staff and nice hote
Great hotel in the Adelaide CDB near Rundle Mall
Property was very nice, in a convenient location and was very clean, would recommend and also stay again.
Returning client. Like rooms, rooms clean, beds comfortable. Dined in food enjoyable, only fault was steak abit tough but other than that minor issue remaining dishes very enjoyable. Would recommend gin and tonic cheesecake for dessert to top off a enjoyable meal.
Close to everything I needed.
Excellent location. Staff are friendly. Boutique hotel.
The room was a good size and clean. Mini fridge was handy and the bathroom was also very good. The staff were friendly. I was on the 11th floor and there was a lot of noise. Yes, the property is in the CBD but it was still really noisy over the weekend. I can’t imagine what it was like on lower floors. I was also in a room with an adjoining door to the room next door. That was very noisy, I could hear the people in the room next to me the whole time, which was not ideal. If you were to find yourself in one of these rooms I would request a room change. Also, the website says you will be charged $50 deposit but it’s actually $50 per day. Upon checking in, the reception staff said it would be refunded immediately at check out. Upon check out, the staff said it could be 10-14 days. Irritating. Overall, a good location and a good place to put your head down but be aware of the noise.
Noisy fridge (turned it off) and A/C Couple of hiccups with food delivery, resolved but just annoying.
Gave vouchers for not having room cleaned and changing of towels. Great incentive 👍
Excellent location within easy walk to shops and transport. Surprisingly quiet rooms with blackout curtains.
Good location
Hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Central to everything although on a very dodgy street with a massage parlour next door.
Great location!
Very nice stay
Great location..very helpful staff. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Everything is handy...eateries, transport, supermarket.
Very nice time
Very comfortable beds, lovely room and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cocktails were lovely and breakfast was fabulous.
Great hotel
Great location for the oval, plenty of food options around the area Loved the little touches , fruit in bowls near the elevator and filtered water.
Great location excellent staff
Lively area
Location is good if you want to explore pubs/clubs/restaurants/cafes and massage parlours. Very good for exploring all the sites. Food in the hotel bar was not good, but there are many options outside the hotel. We didn’t use the hotel restaurant.
Great value and very comfortable
Great hotel in a perfect location for us
It is our 20th night this year and we cannot fault it
Staff not very friendly
Lovely staff
Before you commit to the breakfast option be aware there are very limited options for gluten free or dairy free patrons. You will need to ask for a non dairy milk option and there were no gluten free alternatives at all.
Disappointing Stay - Noisy area, staff unkind
Hotel was busy and inconsistent with service standards. The area is noisy and can get rowdy. When I booked, they made it really hard to add another night when I wanted to extend the stay and I was promised free parking for both stays but I was charged for 1 day, as they said that it wasn't promised to me. It was really too much hassle and will probably pick other hotels in the CBD.
Overall, very good, central to all amenities and excellent customer service to assist you with any queries.
Stayed here many times and it is always perfect.
1st time staying, and highly recommend. So clean, great chill spot down stairs, great location and friendly staff
Hotels in a great location if you're wanting the night life close. Bar has great happy hour specials. Bed was super comfy but the pillows were rubbish and only 2 per queen bed and no spares in the cupboards. They give you a $10 voucher every day if you chose to have a mini service 👌
Convenient location. Very family orientated. Loved our stay.
Close to everything. Parking is not that easy
City Base
It was a good base in central Adelaide
Great for the money
Loved the breakfast and the room was great
All good.
All of the above
Great place to stay
Adequate room for a stay of 4 nights. Had a difficult time with some of the front desk staff who didn't have very good listening skills when we needed help receiving a parcel being sent to us at the hotel. A dinner meal received via room service was unpalatable - would have been better off going to Hungry Jack's down the road.
Parking was hard also
Quiet, polite staff, clean.
I’m a regular customer here. Staff are very professional and welcoming. Place is always clean and the location is fantastic. Car parking is available but it is very very tight, keep this in mind if you have a large vehicle.
Have stayed here many times over the years and the reasons to keep coming back are; 5min walk to main cbd shops, 5min walk to transport and free inner city tram, lots of restaurants 2 mins from hotel, 4 mins to casino, 5mins to museum and art gallery, 15min walk to botanical gardens or catch the free inner city tram there. The hotel itself is clean and quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great prices for food in the bar area and lovely food upstairs in the dining are. Great buffet selection for breakfast and a very good price. Parking is a great price at the hotel, although a bit toght for big cars. As you can tell, very happy and the price for a room in the centre of the city is excellent!!
Breakfast was great Reception staff attitude and engagement could be improved. Area speaks for itself
Very accessible, nice staff and clean
All good
Suited my needs very well. Very central and easy
Loved the CBD central location & the newly renovated 'Executive King Room'. Food at the Bistro was excellent & the bar area was very relaxing.
Close to everything Large clean rooms Easy parking
Staff is amazing
Standard hotel. Large room.
Hotel was fine although I hadn’t realised it was in the seediest part of town. On arrival they took a $50 per night deposit - so for me $250 which over a week later I haven’t received back. I hadn’t been made aware of this prior to booking. Wouldn’t come back.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good spot for restaurants and little bars and accessing public transport.
From the moment we went to our room there was loud music and drunken behaviour from next door the room was good but to much noise. When we returned at 1 am we heard abusive language and banging and crashing which continued to around 3am. At check out we raised the issue but not much concern from staff. Very disappointing.
Very nice hotel and good value. Would def come here again.
Great value
Location, great service, parking and comfortable bed keeps bring me back.:)
Awesome place to stay. Handy walking distance to everywhere - shopping, Chinatown, Rundle Mall, Adelaide Markets, river bank, sports stadium. Great also to have all the busses and trams so close. Hotel rooms were great and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Loved the happy hour at the bar. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Great location, spent two weeks there and will return
Central. In the hub of the night club district so some dodgy characters around. Colourful may be a better description than unsafe.
walking distance to Casino, Railway Station, Tram and City Centre
Very convenient, easy excess to shops and public transport.
Good property with twin suits for family , parking is hard and expensive
The room upgrade was described as having a kitchenette. This was not apparent in the room. There was only a small fridge, kettle and coffee machine that did not work very well. My understanding of a kitchenette would include cutlery, crockery, a small sink, toaster and perhaps a microwave - none of those things were provided.
Comfy beds!
Staff at front desk very friendly, proffessional and eager to assist.
Nice hotel right in the CBD
Another problem-free stay at the Grand Chancellor. Friendly staff and an excellent location. I would've made use of the bar if I didn't have to pop over the road for a function. Sure to return for future trips to Radelaide.
Location, Lovely and helpful staff, Parking.
A pleasant surpise!
For the price, I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of this hotel. Rooms were modern, clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Foyer had plenty of room for meeting with a colleague in the morning. It's location is great for access to pubs, cafes and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in Adelaide.
Great position, so close to good shopping and dining options. Also, good happy 'hour' each day. 😁😁
We found this accommodation to be clean, quiet and in a very handy location. Whilst the street out the front was very loud and busy late at night over the weekend - you would never know from inside. Don't let the street front put you off. Easy access to bars, dinning and public transport. Staff were very friendly and accommodating plus late checkin is a great bonus for those flying in late.
Hotel Grand Chancellor always has the best service and amenities in Adelaide CBD. The 24-hour service desk is fantastic for those who arrive after your typical service hours, like myself. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is most convenient.
Was disappointed about having to pay $20 for early room entry . Was only 1 hour early and the room was ready. I have never been charged they by a hotel anywhere before .
Position is just fantastic. Convenient for everything .

Awesome property with parking.
Always good
Another nice, hassle-free stay. Great location and very comfortable. There's even a pillow menu!
Good location for Adelaide Oval
Bathroom was a bit grubby with dust behind the door and under the vanity Breakfast … lots of choice Bed was comfy, pillows a bit hard.
Location , Closeness to Everything Adelaide
I liked the bed room was good just needed the vents to be clean lots of dust and the tv screen had some damage
I was planning to use the pool but was time poor.
Excellent as always
Always clean and always welcoming.
Old and uncomfortable pillows and mattress
Nothing compared to Hobart GC! The food is appalling. The room smells moldy when we get in. No help offers from Concierge. No warning about how narrow their parking! Located in the worst street of Adelaide CBD. Not coming back ever again. BTW, I was told a wrong info about the $150 deposit upon arrival. I was charged $150 upfront and am still waiting for the refund.
Mould in the shower grout.. the housekeeping would make our beds some days and not change the sheets.. some days we came back and our room wasnt even made. The pillows were uncomfortable and need to be updated, lumpy and old. They put my family and I on level 3 with teenagers in all the surrounding rooms on our level. Had to complain more then once. The walls are paper thin. This was more of a 3 star hotel. And should be marked as so. Had to request robe and slippers, this should have been provided when we entered our room. This isnt a 4 or 4.5 star as they claim. Room service food always arriving luke warm. They would replace towels in bathroom but not clean the floor. The only good thing about this hotel was the lady who brang us a microwave. The tv is in front of one bed to the far left of the room.. The layout makes no sence, the tv should be in the middle of the room in front of both the beds. Whoever runs this place needs lessons in hospitality. The whole experience left me wondering if it was real or a fever dream?? Pretty sad experience. Will definitely be sticking to 5 star hotels the next time i visit Adelaide.
It was an unexpected stay due to a camcelled flight back home. But the staff were friendly and checking in was easy. Location is convenient, a bit noisy at night but bearable. Overall, not bad. I'd stay again.
Love the hotel chain but not at this venue.
Stayed 2 nights at the hotel with 2 bookings. First night was alright, their customer service is bearable. Had to literally badger them into giving a solution of having the same room type. Took them 2 mins to reply saying that they can't give me the same room for 2 nights as I booked 2 seperate room types - which I was aware of but I had already explained that there was only 1 room type available for my 2nd night's booking. Took them almost 2 hours to advise that I can get the same room type with a $20 upgrade fee. Which I gladly accepted. Worth it to avoid the hassle of changing rooms while staying in the same hotel. This is also the first time I was staying at this venue, I usually stay at the same chain on Currie Street. I have also stayed at Grand Chancellor in Melbourne (just next to Chinatown) and absolutely loved it. But I will probably never return to this venue for the following reasons: 1. The front desk acknowledged that I had free parking with my booking. She never told me that I only had free parking for 1 night - I have rewards & perks benefits that shows that I have free parking with every booking. And since she didn't mention that I had to pay for parking for the 2nd night, I just parked again and upon check out I was advised that I had to pay $25 for parking. 2. They were unaccomodating and rude with no leeway given. 3. Felt like a number to them, not a special guest. Left more stressed out than relaxed. What's the point of a holiday like this?
Convenient location, walking distance to the heart of the Adelaide CBD.
