A wonderful experience to see an organisation giving disadvantaged people a go The kindness & support shown by staff is absolutely outstanding
We have a lovely weekend here for an overnight stay. It was a last minute trip away. Arrival service was amazing, the young lady showed us around the property and then to our room. Will definitely stop here again when visiting the Blue Mountains
friendly staff very helpful
Woderful place to stay. Restaurant was excellent, particularly the orange cake for dessert. A must to order. Room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get up Highly recommend Hotel Etico!
Fabulous service. Great food. Gorgeous property. One of my fav places to stay.
A lovely property in tranquil surrounds. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Very nice environment and clear instruction for check-in .
Loved the social enterprise dimension.
A historical and charming guesthouse which has been thoughtfully renovated. The staff were so friendly and it was a lovely experience to be a guest in sharing the social experience of having intellectually disabled young adults work in the hospitality industry. A refreshing and humbling experience while having a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
A hidden gem.
Charging points in room did not work - one TV in lounge not able to be used as could not change the channel
Very friendly staff, excellent restaurant and lovely clean rooms.
A very happy place.
Old 1870's mansion being redone as training for challenged youngsters. Wonderful people and 1st class dining. A stay that will leave you with a smile and a bright future for the staff. We will be back. Great spot for small business conference & staff training. The stay has brightened or trip. Pastries are to die for.
I loved my stay. A beautiful, grand, historic property in a very special village in the Blue Mountains. This place is so welcoming and extra important because it is a hotel that nurtures and trains people with a disability to learn hospitality skills and gain experience and confidence. Expect a lovely highlands country, historical retreat. No TV in the room but all the comforts of home and great internet connection. Beautiful spaces to hang out in for work on your laptop or just to relax. Really family friendly too. They love kids.
I was in the area for work and was extremely fortunate to choose Hotel Etico for my stay. I arrived fairly late in the evening to a beautiful old Manor with a magnificent stately feel. My room was spacious and was very comforting. It was wonderful to set myself up in the Library and complete some office tasks at the end of the work day and to later sit by the fire in the dining room. I shared some wonderful conversation with the staff and was absolutely delighted with my stay. I can’t wait to be working in the area again and am already looking forward to my next visit. Special thanks to all the staff, but especially Cleo, Katie, Natasha and Michael, whom all made my stay more memorable.
Beautiful old world charm! Friendly helpful staff! Clean and comfortable. No in room tea or coffee facilities which would be nice!
The hotel staff were really lovely. Overall the hotel was a nice, quaint, clean boutique. Its old charm is captured well and with their fireplaces it would be comfortable year-round. We will certainly return! Easy parking and a nice little park across the road. We ate at the restaurant on our first night too, and it was a great Italian meal - seems like locals also go there to dine which is a good sign. We loved that the hotel supported the charity Two Good with its in-room bathroom amenities, meaningful choices that also smell great! The included continental breakfast was also fine and an added bonus we enjoyed. Unfortunately no espresso coffee in the restaurant, only Nespresso pods, but there is a little cafe on the corner you can walk to and support. Also, not a criticism of the wonderful Etico but a hope generally for the future, it would be amazing to see more hotels in Blue Mountains introduce an EV charger for guest cars as charging is hard in the mountains, hydro majestic is the only one :(
Best place to stay. Great service! Friendly staff.
Beautiful place to stay with nice staff and a good restaurant.
I loved my stay at Hotel Etico. We were warmly greeted by Lorna who gave us an orientation tour of the grand Manor House. The history of the hotel is fascinating. We were aware that the hotel trains young people with disabilities to learn the skills to participate in the hospitality industry. We were served by Brandon, one of the trainees and were impressed by the skills he has learned. The mentors and trainees worked together beautifully and the service we received was faultless. In fact, the training programme made our visit more enjoyable than the usual hotel visit. Our enjoyment was shared by all the other guests who were privileged to be part of this wonderful social enterprise programme at Hotel Etico.
Great stay at Hotel Etico!
Loved this place! Stayed here one night while we visited the Blue Mountains on a trip back to Sydney. The hotel has a lot of history and character and the room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Just missed the roos that come through the yard early in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Etico and we will definitely be back. What truly impressed and delighted us was the incredible service and reception. The staff were outstanding and they all made us feel so welcome and cared for. Special thanks to Lona, Michael and Ian as well as the awesome young men, Maxime and Stephanos. We had such a special experience. Loved every minute!
Beautiful area, lovely old hotel
We loved the concept of Hotel Erico viz. providing training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the hospitality industry. While not a very high grade accommodation, it has everything one would expect from a solid B&B in terms of comfort, cleanliness, hygiene, continental-style breakfast etc.
Beautiful heritage building
The room was spacious and clean in the beautiful heritage building. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nice continental breakfast. We stayed on Sunday night so the restaurant wasn't open, we had dinner in Blackheath.
I loved the history of the manor. The rooms were beautiful. I would have liked a tv in the room.
A nice find in Mount Victoria, and an easy 5 minute stroll from the railway station. Nice surroundings, and a beautifully restored heritage building. Sadly, my timing meant I couldn't experience the restaurant for either dinner or breakfast. My bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the room very clean. No air-conditioning, but a fan is provided in the room, and most of the year in the mountains, you won't need air-con anyway. There is a small amount of road noise - mainly from trucks using engine braking, but after falling asleep, nothing woke me.
Beautiful old manor house with comfortable beds, fluffy pillows and fancy linen. Good restaurant, nice bar and great breakfast.
The property is centrally located yet quiet and serene.
Whole experience was lovely only thing was that there wasnt adequate parking i felt.
Interesting historical hotel which has been well preserved and maintained. Had character
Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Etico for an enjoyable, relaxing, and pleasant stay. I will be returning. Go the Matildas!
The staff is the heart of this hotel. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Their training program is such a unique form of inclusivity, and was a beautiful experience for us.
A beautiful place to stay, very friendly staff
Helpful attentive staff
Lovely old fashioned hotel and the dinner menu was reasonably priced with very good food. No coffee and tea facilities in the rooms and no tv,s which is unusual .
So good
Had a wonderful two night stay!!! Was part of a family get together, nine in our group which included my elderly parents (it was their wedding anniversary). The hotel is lovely and perfect for what we needed. Had dinner both nights at the restaurant there. The food was amazing! The service was excellent! All the staff in the hotel were so nice and helpful. Love what they are doing there, the training and employment of young people. Very special! Highly recommend staying there!!!
The interesting ambience of the place and the friendliness of the staff and the warm open fireplaces
Hotel Etico is a beautiful property with a great ambience. The rooms are comfortable, the food is fabulous, the common areas are welcoming and the staff are friendly.
Historic home with lots of charm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. Quibbles were no TV and a challenge getting hot water to our room.
Good and unique property run and managed by great people who have their heart and head at the right places.
The property has so much character and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an extremely pleasant stay and have no reservations about staying there again.
Very friendly staff, cozy stay and complimentary breakfast!
It was cosy and clean
We loved the old charm of the property, the gorgeous wrap around deck and surrounding trees. The rooms were very comfortable, great beds and linen! Friendly staff.
Great to see the effort and professionalism shown to the training of the team. Well done to all involved.
Beautiful building and staff
Warmly welcomed to a comfortable queen size bed, pillows & lovely thick bath sheets. Italian Restaurant food both nights was enjoyable & both restaurant & bar staff very knowledgeable & helpful. Staff should be congratulated for mentoring & fostering intellectually challenged youth in the hospitality setting of the hotel. We also particularly enjoyed the classical pianist who played for guests on Friday evening during the dinner hours. We had a lovely time despite the inclement weather & will definitely return.
