Very beautiful lush landscape and private hot springs
The hotel and grounds were magical. The view was spectacular. The hot springs were incredible. Milking cows in the morning was exciting. The restaurant was organic from the farm on site and the milk we got from the cow is used for the cheese on site. This is a must stay.
Loved it. We would stay there again.
Stunning setting, gracious and helpful staff, farm on site, fantastic food and gorgeous hot springs pools. Perfect! Even my 15-year old loved it. Can’t wait to come back.
Loved it, close to the hot springs!
The property was beautiful. A little outside the main town area, which wasn't bad. Staff was excellent.
Bliss
Amazing service, rooms and outdoor spa pools in wonderful setting.
We had an amazing stay! Elijilio was so helpful! The hot springs were amazing.
Loved it, would definitely return!
We absolutely loved our stay! The check-in process was smooth and quick. The spacious and clean room was very much welcomed after a long travel day. The surroundings were generally well maintained. We very much enjoyed the hot spring pools. The breakfast was delicious, service was quick. I really enjoyed all of the animals roaming around, including those on the farm.
We loved are stay! Beautiful property with lots for us and the kids to do right on site. The thermal pools were gorgeous and so fun to try out the different ones with different temperatures. There was even a farm with lots of animals. There was a grumpy horse so watch out for him, but otherwise a lovely experience. Highly recommend!
Incredible experience with clean huts and hot water springs
Beautiful place
Best place to stay in La fortuna! The staff goes above and beyond for each guest. Their property is so beautiful, peaceful, and allows you to feel more in nature/has a less commercial feeling. Our favorite was the private hot springs, spa, and breakfast! They put out fruit just so you can watch the birds in the morning and have the best homemade hot sauce. Wishing we were back already!
Most beautiful resort in manual antonio 😍
One of the best resorts , best views, best staff, best food in costa Rica
Nice hotel for family with kids.
This was a wonderful little gem of a place! I was so glad we found it when planning our trip. Very well maintained, the staff was so helpful and kind, and the hot springs were wonderful. We never felt like there was a lot of people around - which led to a very relaxing stay. Extra bonus was enjoying the animals from the farm randomly around the grounds. Would definitely come back here and bring our whole family!
Very clean facility
Beautiful property close to the volcano and natural hot springs
Beautiful grounds and nic experience
Absolutely fantastic stay in every way! I was there with my wife and 2 daughters 9/10yo. They LOVED the farm and all the animals roaming on the property. The service was attentive and kind, the room was immaculately clean, well appointed and spacious. The breakfast was fresh and concierge was helpfully booking us a tour. Highly recommend while staying in La Fortuna.
We stayed 13 years ago and loved it. Many new features and it did not disappoint. Would come back in a heartbeat!
Unique, clean great staff. All in one!! We love it!!
Amazing front desk staff. Loved how much they care about the people staying and sustainability was a priority. The hot tub is amazing. Farm to table restaurant was so romantic.
Beautiful, quiet, relaxing spot right outside of La Fortuna. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Costa Rica. The thermal pools are amazing and surrounded by tropical plants.
Loved the animals and hot springs
Amazing stay at this hotel, the staff was extremely accommodating and the spa treatments were amazing. Farm to table meals, highly recommend!
A true gem!
We loved our stay in the hotel. Rooms were very clean. The hot springs are amazing and very private and there are cabanas you can eat in next to smaller hot springs - we had it to ourself and enjoyed two nights eating dinner from the pool bar . Kids loves swimming and coming out to eat . There is a farm with animals kids enjoyed interacting with beautiful view of the volcano . Breakfast was delicious ! We would love to come again ! Our family of five had amazing time , we stayed for 3 nights
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Hotel El Silencio del Campo in a family cabin. There was tons of space in the room, and lots of towels and amenities in the room. It rained our entire visit so we especially enjoyed using the thermal pools. The breakfast was nice though we would have liked a few more options to choose from. The highlight was the staff! While everyone from housekeeping to the serving staff was fantastic, we wanted to shout out Elio at the front reception who provided exceptional customer service. We would stay here again and would recommend to our friends and family.
I loved absolutely everything about this hotel! It’s beautiful, the pathways to walk around the hotel are the best I’ve ever seen, and the layout is accessible for anyone. The playground, hot springs, animals, farm, pools, and reception area make it easy to plan a day just staying at the hotel. The staff was exceptionally helpful from getting the TV to play American shows in English, to steaming a complimentary carafe of milk for me to have with my in-room coffee, to helping point out a sloth in the trees near their onsite farm, to exchanging our pool towels as many times as we asked. The rooms were very comfortable with bathrobes, umbrellas, and toiletries. The food was delicious and the staff let us order off the lunch menu for dinner when we wanted. The shrimp fried rice was sooo good! The hot springs were especially nice-- we literally had them all to ourselves for majority of our stay. I have never stayed at the same hotel twice, but I will definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The highlights were the staff being so friendly and helpful, the breakfast, and the stunning views from the rooms!
Cabin was beautiful, nature and animal life was amazing. Very peaceful and cozy.
Wonderful place to stay with kids. The farm on the property is a wonderful attraction for families. Staff is extremely helpful. We wish we could stay longer. The food, drinks, hot springs everything was on spot. Thanks a lot
We loved the hot springs at the end of the day. Large rooms, spacious. So lush! Staff were amazing! 5
My wife and I are empty nesters and love travel. This is our first trip to Cosa Rica, and we loved it. The El Silencio del Campo was definitely a highlight of the trip. We stayed active and hiked, did the beautiful outdoor activities here, including horseback riding in the mountains. All the activities made the Hot Springs and Spa all the more enjoyable and helped our recouperation! We very much enjoyed the Spa, great services and very professional, the outdoor palapa and birdsong in the backgroud was great. The on sight Hot Springs were exceptional. We visited others off sight, but far preferred the hot springs at El Silencio. They felt like natual pools, and not an ellaborate mand made pool. Lastly the resteraunt was exceptional too. Service and food were 5 star and very reasonable. We will be back.
Great stay!
We love this cozy hotel so much - the hot springs are clean and nice. The room itself is lovely. The staffs we met are all very friendly and helpful. We booked the last minute night walk when checking in for next day and they were able to make it. We love the early morning breakfast where you could see many birds enjoying the fruits on the trees. And the best breakfast fruits plate as well! The food from the onsite restaurants is also fantastic - highly recommend their garden vegetables and any seafood cuisine. We visited their onsite farm so many times and never got tired watching those animals. We were lucky enough to see the volcano from our patio and couldn't ask for more. Would definitely come back again!
Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and hot springs. Totally recommend it to anyone looking for a place to enjoy La Fortuna and all the activities it offers.
Amazing place! Clean and cozy. The animals on the property are so cute and the space is so tranquil! The staff is exceptional, they go above and beyond to deliver a 5 star experience. This is better than most 5 star hotels I have stayed in USA, Canada, or any other continents.
Staff was friendly and everything was clean. We love hanging out in the farm with staff and found sloths!
This hotel is better than expected. The staff were friendly. The room was very clean. The garden around the cabins was beautiful. There's a farm in the hotel where kids can visit the animals. It's a great value for the money. Highly recommended.
Staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The property was beautiful. Loved the farm. The restaurant food could be enhanced and the room could have more light. Overall great stay.
Very cute chalet with peaceful surroundings, amazing hot springs. The staff were friendly and the good breakfast was included. Very cool farm animals and Sloths to view!
I liked there were less than 25 individual units. Made it quiet and more personal. Front desk very helpful with your needs. All staff very friendly. Beautiful property and hot springs. Felt well attended to. Was not in town, as this is what I prefer, but close enough to be picked up for tours. Also inexpensive to get a ride into town for dinner if desired.
This boutique hotel is great for families. Our kids loved the various pools and especially the farm that is attached. All of the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Food was also excellent.
Loved this resort ! Friendly and very helpful staff!
This property is well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The hot springs on the property were a great spot to relax and unwind. The property offers great views of the volcano when not obscured by clouds. Breakfast was included and my kids got the chance to milk a cow and gather eggs in the small farm on the property. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Friendly staff, beautiful property. Thermal spas were amazing. Casitas are big, clean, spacious and adorable! Volcano view! Great breakfast! Even saw a sloth on site!
This place is an absolute dream. A true oasis. Our family of 4 enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. The hot springs were of course amazing, but the staff and the service and the beautiful grounds all come together to make an unforgettable trip. The whole atmosphere is absolute bliss and the food is so delicious! We will be back!
This hotel is nice, the staff is friendly. The farm was a really cool bonus. The hot springs are fantastic.
This was hands down the best place we’ve ever stayed with our children. The staff are excellent, the food is wonderful and the grounds are amazing. There is the coolest little farm on the property and the kids were able to milk a cow and ride the horses. The groundskeeper, Alejandro, showed us the sloths on a daily basis. My husband and I had a massage in the spa and it was the best spa experience we’ve ever had and it was finished by a hot springs outdoor shower. Truly an amazing experience. We will be back!!
Amaaaazing place to stay for a few nights while discovering La Fortuna area great family place. Beautifully kept grounds, large clean comfortable cabins, excellent breakfast- I had heuvos rancheros Twice!, really nice, friendly staff, great cocktails. This place has everything its own beautiful hot spring, farm where kids can have a complimentary pony ride, pick eggs and even milk a cow! They have a resident family of sloths who everyone will point out to you if they are about. Netflix in the room and room service great for rainy times,They even have insect repellent in the room and at the bar! La Fortuna less than 5 minutes drive. Lots of adventurous things to do in the area from white water rafting, kayaking, bikes, hikes, night tours and horse riding plus of course the hot springs. If you want to go wild swimming La chollin is 5 minutes drive in opposite direction to La Fortuna.
If I could give this hotel six stars, I would! They truly think of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible, from insect repellent and a clothesline in the room, to a small eating area outside the cabin. The staff are so friendly and helpful! They made great recommendations and booked tours for us. The grounds are phenomenal! The hot springs is beautiful and farm is extensive, with a wide variety of animals and a huge vegetable garden. My kids were very interested in exploring the garden and gathering eggs. We even saw a sloth on site! The restaurant is excellent. Well-priced and delicious food, and courteous service. This place is a gem! We would definitely go back on a (hopefully longer) trip.
One of the best places we have ever stayed! The staff was so friendly and helpful with every question and need. The property was absolutely gorgeous - we took advantage of the hot springs daily! The food was amazing and the massage was the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely stay here again and again, and am recommending to all of our friends and family!
The pictures do not do it justice. There is a large beautiful hot pool, and 4-5 other large to medium ones with gorgeous plants and trees and wildlife. There is a restaurant bar with the tubs too! There is a working farm and you can milk cows in the morning if you want. The food is good especially breakfast, the reception arrival was one of best I have had with a welcome drink. The room was big and perfect. It was great.
Our trip was cut short due to a hurricane leaving Texas and when we arrived a day later than expected we melted with relaxation with the beautiful, tranquil facility. The cabin was super clean and cool. The robes were warm and towels soft. The good at the restaurant, although a bit pricey was delicious. The hot springs took the cake. They made our body aches evaporate. The landscaping is breathtaking due to the colorful flowers, green foliage, and the well manicured grounds. We got a great view of Arenal volcano from our cabin. Eliminar hooked us up with great transport and Leonel helped us through the cancellation of our first night due to flight issues due to hurricane Beryl. I honestly wish we could have stayed in la fortuna longer. This was a magical place! I recommend this hotel. It should be regarded as a five star resort.
This property is an absolute gem! Beautiful flowers, birds (even saw toucans), very clean, adorable animals, delicious food and drinks, great view of Arenal Volcano, and the thermal lagoons are breathtaking. A
The staff was extremely friendly. It was very easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful grounds and the thermal pools.
Fantastic stay! Very quiet and relaxing. The thermal pools were amazing, the farm was a plus for our kids. Very clean, comfortable beds and bathroom. Nice staff. Food was decent, portions were big enough to share. Overall great experience.
Something to do from young to old. Very friendly, always willing to help!
Excellent hotel and most important, the hot spring pools are only available to Hotel guests.
Loved this property!
Beautiful property. Hot springs were fantastic, even in the rain. Each little cabin was very private. Breakfast was delicious and good variety. Wish we could have stayed longer!
We stayed here for nine days. Our cabin was cute, clean, and roomy. The staff throughout the property was exceptionally kind and helpful. We loved the daily breakfasts, thermal pools, and hotel farm. We enjoyed seeing the two sloths that lived in the property. Everything about our stay was perfect.
Will definitely stay there again. Top notch!
The staff are incredible! They were so nice and went over and above to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. The food was excellent as was the bar service by the hot springs. Thank you to everyone whi helped my husband when he fell there and got him to a clinic for stiches so quickly and stayed with him and brought him back to me, you all are the best!
Expectacular
Great place to relax
Beautiful garden, excellent hot springs--several pools with different temperature, very fun and kid friendly farm with all sorts of lovely animals (we loved the baby donkey and the pig Bella). staff at the farm are very friendly (alejandro showed us a sloth he saw in a tree in the far back of the hotel grounds, and showed us how to milk a cow, so fun). Restaurant menu differ by nights so some menus may have options that suit you better -- we loved the shrimp salad with avocado, but could not take a 2nd bite of the teriyaki chicken on a different night.
We absolutely loved this property and the amazing staff! The surrounding scenery was simply breathtaking and so peaceful, especially the on site hot springs. Having a soak at night was so relaxing! Having 2 dining options on site was super convenient, although we enjoyed the dinner options at the bar far better than the restaurant. The complimentary breakfast at the restaurant was amazing with multiple options…loved the omelette and the coffee was top tier. The farm located on site was really cool with an assortment of animals…I loved the goat! The staff working the farm were so cool…Alejandro took us out the point out a couple of sloths. The location is perfect and so close to all the activities in the area, the staff will arrange outings for you and pick ups right on site. Definitely a 5 star experience!
The property was wonderful. The front desk gave everyone a welcome drink and tote bags on arrival but we didn’t get those. The animal area and garden were very impressive. The food was excellent. I would love to come back.
For a unique experience with interesting and intimate setting! Try the large hot spring pool or from a couple smaller ones. A jacuzzi and swimming pool are also available for a dip. We enjoyed all kinds of wildlife spotting's from the hot springs and from short walks around the property to the nearby farm. Bella the pig and some beautiful horses can be spotted roaming the property as well as a new 15-day old donkey! While petting the Donkey one of the farmers showed us where they had spotted the 15-month-old sloth up in a nearby tree who was adorable. While enjoying the nearby pools we spotted many different types of reptiles including the basilisk or "Jesus Lizard". Birds of all different colors and types can also be spotted especially at breakfast where they piece of fruits in a few of the trees to ensure they show and for your viewing pleasure during breakfast. Baristas here are incredible as we enjoyed some of the best espresso drinks during our stay from iced lattes to macchiato served with delicate designs. Fresh fruits and juices are available at breakfast with a main option of pancakes, waffles, omelet and others. Dinner here was fantastic, and the seafood soup was one of the most flavorful and delicious soups either of us have ever had anywhere in the world. The seafood risotto as well as the beef loin were both amazing as well. With great food, staff and service, drinks, wildlife and variety of pools Hotel Silencio Del Campo is the #1 best hotel in La Fortuna!!!
La Fortuna trip
Hotel Silencio has great amenities La Fortuna has to offer with amazing view of the Arenal Volcano in front of the hotel with great thermal/ hot springs pool. The staff were accommodating.
The hotel is located in the middle distance betwwen the town and the natioal park. The ground and thermal pools are wonderful. Front desk and restaurant staffs are the best.
Loved the farm. Alejandro helped us to find the sloth!
Overall it was a beautiful property, clean and great location to volcano. Unfortunately our AC unit wasn’t working and made a very loud noise all night long so we couldn’t sleep. We were offered $30 for the inconvenience which I did not feel was appropriate for no sleep, no AC with two small children in tow. The manager was “in a meeting” so we weren’t able to resolve any further before we left.
Beautiful grounds, friendly service and close to the sights we wanted to visit. Excellent breakfast and presentation of food, room made it even better. Would highly recommend!
The room was exceptional. The hot springs were amazing. The farm was so fun to explore. Great property!
The property it’s not quite like the photos show
We stayed three nights there and felt absolutely safe and comfortable. This place has a luxurious feel. We loved every aspect of it: the service was great, the breakfast delicious, the pools were amazing, and the farm was a very special place. I didn't have a chance to use the spa, but it looked very appealing. The big advantage that the resort doesn't sell day passes. It was not crowded at all during our 3 night stay in a beginning of May. Safe travels!
The thermal pools were beautiful, clean and very relaxing. We enjoyed meals on property and also the convenience of getting taxi to go into town for meals also.
Beautiful accommodations at the Arenal Volcano just outside downtown La Fortuna. The location is perfect. The grounds are incredible. The rooms are very charming. The included breakfast was also a nice touch (limited menu but everything is cooked to order plus fruit, juices, coffee, etc). The staff are astounding and super helpful. There was some mildew in the bathroom and the water pressure is very high, but otherwise the bathroom was very well kept.
Great little resort. The staff and grounds are the best. It is very quiet and relaxing. Restaurant is very good as well.
We loved our stay at El Silencio! Conveniently located to everything in La Fortuna area. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and included in price. We also enjoyed one dinner on the property which was also good. Hot springs weren’t large like Tabacon but multiple pools in lush setting and only for hotel guests which was lovely. We paid for a day pass to Tabacon hot springs but really didn’t need to. Loved the farm on the property. Very eco-friendly. Great place for couples and families. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.
The property is stunningly beautiful, and spotless clean. It is closed to al the area attractions. The staff is top notch
This place fell a little short of the expectations in the pictures. That said, compared to what's in the area, it works pretty well for the price. Because it's a smaller place, we had to sign up for breakfast in shifts and the pool wasn't really something that could accommodate more than 8-10 folks. Really great staff. Very comfortable room. Cocktail on arrival! Horse riding and farm elements were awesome.
This is a hidden gem in the now overdeveloped Fortuna area. A quiet, serene resort where you hardly notice other guests. The hot spring pools were amazing and never crowded, the staff was super friendly. They have a farm that is farm-to-table and you can visit all the animals. The food was great, the service was great and the rooms were very comfortable. Really a nice place!
The grounds really are as beautiful as shown in the photos with many birds and currently a sloth in a tree near the Farm. The thermal pools, although completely artificial, are also lovely and another highlight of the property. The Farm is another nice amenity. The regular pool is a small, but that's not what you come to Costa Rica for. The snack bar menu available by the pools is pretty reasonably priced and quality is good. Free breakfast is a plus. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large with high ceilings. Each has an outdoor table and chairs and a view of Arenal from the front door. In the morning you are awakened by the chirping of birds. My only quibble is the interior furnishings are a little mixed. Our chalet had a 20 year old plastic countertop that seemed out of place, but it appears they have been replaced in other units. The use of a lawn chair for the desk was also a little disappointing. Wifi and hot water were solid, although the sink faucet would make loud vibrations / sounds at certain water pressures.
Great option in la fortuna that isn’t like other busy resorts
It was a beautiful property - very lush with plants and flowers. It was also very fun to visit the farm and see all the different types of birds as well as horses and goats.
absolutely stunning property
I can't rate this property highly enough. The grounds are stunning and beautifully maintained. Each room is an individual tiny house/cabin with AC that cools it perfectly. The decor is typical Costa Rican. There are thermal pools (and a regular pool) on property, which are incredible to relax the muscles after a long day full of excursions. The drinks and food by the thermal pools were great; we enjoyed dinner there twice during our stay. Breakfast is included each morning; options were great and the fresh fruit and juice simply delicious. It is about an 8 min drive to downtown La Fortuna - perfect to avoid the traffic and bustle but still make it easy to head downtown for dinner. The treat for us was the small farm on the property: everything from a vegetable garden to a pig, horses, cows, chickens, sheep, goats, peacocks and more. My teenagers LOVED it (and they're not impressed by much these days). We were even treated to a sloth and it's baby in one of the trees behind our cabin. The staff was simply amazing and accommodating every step of the way. Highly recommend this hotel; we would certainly stay again if we return to Costa Rica. 10/10.
This is a unique and special hotel in La Fortuna. The hotel staff are warm, inviting and helpful. There is a farm onsite and our daughter was able to ride the horse. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We saw many birds and a sloth on the property. The hot springs were lovely and we enjoyed them every evening of our staff. It is quiet because they don't sell day passes for the hot springs. We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat! \
This hotel is amazing! The property is a small paradise. Hot springs on site with waters at different temperatures. No need to go out and be with the crowd. The cabins are spacious, and clean. They use produce from the farm to cook breakast. Fresh squeezed drinks every morning! The eggs taste so good, not like the grocery stores one. Uber available. The restaurant has great food for lunch and dinner as well. I highly recommend this place, we loved it.
I absolutely adore El Silencio. The staff is top notch. From cappucino artistry at breakfast, to attentive housekeeping and front desk service, to the wonderful staff maintaining the farm and garden. Very centrally located for tour pickup and local attractions and restaurants. My son and I had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to return. Will recommend to all my friends who go to Costa Rica!
We arrived and was greeted with a smile and a refreshing drink The lodge was clean and well appointed. The facilities were fantastic , we especially enjoyed the spa / massage we received in the forest , followed by personnel hot spa pool Certainly would recommend
Exceptional service, friendly staff and beautiful grounds full of birds. The view of the volcano was fantastic and the farm was delightful. We enjoyed having the pool to ourselves. The bar and springs were open late which was very convenient.
Loved our stay. Beautiful pools and fun to visit the farm. Elio and other staff were fantastic.
Wonderful property with very friendly people. We would stay again.
One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at!
We have traveled quite a bit, and this is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms amazing, the staff were all so friendly, professional and helpful, the restaurant was delicious-every single meal we had there-both breakfast and lunch-were fantastic, and the thermal pools and farm were added bonuses. It was such a place of beauty and peacefulness. We literally felt at home there, and were so sad to leave. It is a very special place.
Hotel El Silencio del Campo | Hotel in La Fortuna | Travala.com
Pros: amazing view of the volcano (we stayed in #4 and when we stepped out the door, the view was incredible), friendly and helpful staff, the farm (lots of farm animals and activities fun for everyone but esp for kids) and organic garden (not an official tour, but we got to meet the gardener in charge and he showed us around), individual bungalows that are generously sized, body lotion & even natural bug repellent lotion in the rooms, hot springs (small but was never crowded), animal sightings (sloth, lots of birds), reasonably priced stuffed animals they sold ($30 for a sloth my son wanted. At another store, the same one was $42!), centrally located to reach many activities without long drives, quiet, comfortable beds. Cons: Not a huge con, but breakfast (included) wasn't that yummy. We did appreciate the fresh juice and fruits provided, however! Pool wasn't as beautiful/exciting, but it was also ok with us since we didn't spend that much time there. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with our experience and would stay here again/recommend to others
