Great location
Hotel Diana was reasonably priced. I had a very early checkout and the staff left a drink box and snack bar on the front desk for me. Nice touch!
What we liked best about this hotel was the breakfast buffet, which was included in the price. The room was clean as was the bathroom and the shower has good water pressure. The facilities are old and the air conditioning is not great. We had to move rooms twice to get an air conditioner that worked. I question if the filter was ever changed. I would not recommend this property to anyone with asthma or severe allergies to mold. We only stayed here for one night as we were leaving for a cruise the next day from the Ravenna port. When you arrive at the train station (we took a train from Rome) the area is a bit shady and dirty. Once we got to the hotel and walked to the center of town, we found some lovely restaurants that were reasonably priced in the center square. Transportation to the port from the hotel is tricky because there are a limited number of cabs and vans. If you didn’t book your travel in advance you have to call a cab company early in the morning to pick you up. Depending on how early the pick up is you may need to wait at the port a little bit.
Very nice hotel. Lots of room, spacious room. Great location. Friendly service. Excellent breakfast.
Great place!!
Ok and suited what we needed for a few nights
Great option
Great budget friendly hotel with a good location. Host was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to be helpful and provide information.
We had a great experience at Hotel Diana
Wonderful Hotel
Very clean and comfortable hotel in an excellent location to see the city’s historic sites and eat at great cafe’s. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
The breakfast was fresh, with incredible coffee options and a full variety of foods. Plus they offer packaged snacks to take with you so you don’t have to eat again til the evening. Very gracious, personable and friendly hosts. Room was clean and comfortable. Four out of four stars!
The Hotel was in walking distance of the town center where all the shopping and restaurants are. Philip (at the reception desk) was very helpful and polite. He helped us get transportation to the Cruise port. Also I had picked out 3 restaurants in the area, and he told us which one he liked the best. The breakfast was very good. My only surprise was that our room had two twin beds, just like being back in college!
The hotel was very nice and very clean. We walked to an area from the hotel that had many restaurants. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange transportation to the port for our cruise.
Clean and comfortable .
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were very nice. The staff at reception were particularly friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money.
A small family run hotel that made guests feel comfortable. Easily walkable to all tourist sites, good and stores.
😍
The hotel is a lovely, old building with a renovated interior. It’s in a great location, close to everything one would need as a tourist. The only complaint is that no beds were the same in comfort level. Our friends had a bed that was plush compared to ours, which felt like we were sleeping on a boxspring! They did try to fix this by adding a mattress pad to it, making it marginally better. Staff was fantastic and easy to communicate with as they all spoke English well, and breakfast every morning was fantastic with plenty of options.
Terrible hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Firstly, the room was very cold and the air conditioning wasn’t working, but in the hotel amenities the air conditioning was listed. It was so cold, I couldn’t fall asleep the first night. We asked receptionist why the air conditioning isn’t working and he said that it is because city prohibits it’s use. However, when we went to eat breakfast the air conditioning was turned on everywhere in the breakfast area. So, it means the receptionist lied to us. Moreover, the room had a really bad smell of mold. If you have allergy from mold, be aware of this. Also, the room condition is very poor and needs renovation. This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. Cold, smelly, dusty, poor room and very staff at the reception. Avoid this hotel.
Great hotel, great location, great staff
Great hotel--would definitely stay again! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room. Great sink area--room for multiple items that stayed put. The breakfast was amazing--I wish I had been able to take better advantage of it (slept through it one day, another day rushed to catch train). Fresh baked goods--oven right there baking them. Got excellent restaurant advice from staff. Local food specialties worth a visit alone. Hotel within walking distance of 7 UNESCO sites (8th via city bus). 6 of them within very easy walking distance of the hotel. Mosaics! Room nice and quiet. Comfortable bed. Chair in room hard plastic and noisy to move (also in breakfast area), but that is only quibble with the place. Ravenna well worth a visit and Hotel Diana was an excellent hotel to stay in while there.
Clean, friendly, and well located
A fine hotel in a good location. Great service and an excellent breakfast. Quiet and clean. Parking was four blocks away. Walk ten minutes to the Dante tomb and mosaic churches.
Great, central hotel & AMAZING staff
Lovely hotel very close to Piazza Popolo & the centre of Ravenna. The staff were soo helpful and friendly - to the extent of helping me out when I lost my bank card! Would recommend for short trips to the lovely city of Ravenna :)
Comfortable and affordable
It was in a quiet location a short walk from the train station. There were four adults in the room which was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very typically an Italian style with many sweet pastries and a few selections of savory items.
Easy and walkable to Ravenna historical sites, restaurants and train station. Transportation service from Hotel Diana direct to Cruise port. Makes for a very convenient location. Maybe the female desk clerk could smile more. But I know it would get somewhat annoying with travelers speaking no Italian. We all have good days and bad ones. I will recommend the Hotel Diana.
Wonderful!
What an amazing hotel and staff! Owner was exceptionally helpful; went above and beyond to help us deal with a car rental issue, as very attentive, in sum, we were very well taken care of, like family. Cruise bus stops at the hotel. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you for an amazing experience.
Very quaint, great breakfast, room was spacious Bed linen was very rough, the bed felt like a board
4
Great staff, remembered us from our previous visit. Very helpful with helping us get around.
Nice rooms
The property photos displayed on expedia do not compare to the actual property. The room walls were dirty with paint scraping by the headboard. A side dressers was broken with the wood chipping off. The bathroom was barely clean, had a rink smell, like it was cleaned with a dirty rag. The mattress was horrible, felt like I was sleeping on the wood frame directly. I was suppose to stay two nights, only stayed one and checked out at 7am then next morning. Really horrible!
The hotel was nice and in a good location. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was just ok compared to other places we stayed but decent. Definitely recommend
We had a 4 bed family room. Lovely big clean room and beds were very comfy. Room was basic but had everything you need. Airy and relaxed breakfast area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful giving directions on where to eat and how to get about.
Very helpful and convenient
Amazing! Very very helpful and close to the train station and restaurants! Highly recommend! Went above and beyond to help us with everything. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed here the night before we got on a cruise. It was in a great location for the main attractions in Ravenna and served our needs nicely. The pictures are accurate and breakfast was included which was nice!
Very nice place to stay when cruising out of Raveena. Shuttle to ships picks up directly in front of hotel. Good continental breakfast also.
Property Staff were extremely helpful with arranging transportation and restaurant location. This is a very local establishment at makes you apart of the culture.
Charming Stay!
Hotel Diana is charming and close to the city center for food and shopping. The breakfast was robust and delicious! Information for obtaining a shuttle was available at the desk. The hotel staff is hard to get a response from via email.
Friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms, great breakfast!
Very good hotel in a good location.
The hotel was honest in their description of their location and ease of going to the cruise port. All the UNESCO sites were very walkable and we also just walked to the hotel when we arrived from the train station. Soo convenient and accessible. Will definitely recommend it though maybe get a superior room because our room was very small/tight space.
A wonderful find in Ravenna - ideal location, able to walk to dining and historical sites.
Modest but clean, well located, and very friendly
Tourist class hotel, inexpensive and perfect for a short stay in Ravenna. Most of the town's must-sees within walking distance. Basic standard, but the hotel is clean, with comfortable beds and good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Coffee at the reception desk (served with warmed milk on the side) cost 50 cents, which is worth noting in September 2022.
The hotel is a very convenient option for families, the hotel is a little bit dated but overall is perfect with a lot of restaurants nearby. In addition the Personnel is very kind and attentive
Good value Hotel close to historic centre
Perfect location for visiting the historic center. The room was very large and traditionally furnished. Very helpful host AC and shower not the best but adequate.
The location and staff for this hotel are amazing! The room was a bit small for our family of four, and the beds weren’t very comfortable.
Excellent
Loved the hotel and the location. If I had to rate the hospitality from 1-5, I would give it a 6.
A very nice small hotel, very well situated in Ravenna on the edge of the historic centre.Friendly and welcoming staff and a good size room. A nice breakfast included in the price with fresh coffee included. I would certainly use again
The hotel is goog value for money. The location is very good. It is close to everything. It has a nearby parking which costs 4 EUR a day. The stuff is kind and helpfull.
A lovely family run hotel. Staff friendly and informative, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the most economical rooms on the ground floor - clean, comfortable and very quiet - looking onto a 10th century campanile! I would highly recommend this hotel - it is walking distance from the station (10 -15 mins) and 5 mins from San Vitale. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of cereals, seeds & grains as well as eggs, pancakes, meats & cheese, fresh honeycomb, breads & brioches. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Ravenna at this price, thank you for a splendid stay.
Close to town along narrow streets. Staff helpful. Excellent multifaceted breakfast
Great staff and breakfast! Wonderful location with safe parking (even if it costs extra).
Good,Convenient, Selection for Ravenna
Family Stay for 2 overnights (Monday and Tuesday) in February with the following observations: Location of the Hotel is great : Very convenient to explore Ravenna’s Historical Center and even use your car for more distant points of interest and also avoid the Controlled Zones of the City. Parking for Car: In a distance of 100m there is parking space (although crowded) and the Hotel for a cost of approx.. 2 euro can provide you with a card in order to use it for the duration of your stay avoiding higher costs. Service and attitude of personnel: Polite and very helpful, Reception available 24H, overall very satisfactory. Rooms and Building: Building is old (historical center) but in good Condition and clean with sufficient amenities (wifi, office, tv). However, available space inside the room appears so and so without some interesting view (it should be often expected when one arranges to stay in historical centers of old cities located on plains) and one, in case he/she has to transfer many suitcases/bags, might find it “not that easy” to move through its corridors and stairs. Overall it was a good, convenient, selection for our stay in Ravenna.
Wonderful small hotel! Walking distance from the train station and very near all the places to visit. The staff was very kind, and willing to keep our luggage while we spent the morning visiting. We'll be back!
Oversll find it comfortable and quiet location within few min walk to main piatza restaurant. Reception was very helpful
Great hotel near everything
Very nice, very affordable hotel in Ravenna. Walking distance from everything, including parking outside the ZTL. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Check in staff not very interested. Everything else good for price of the room.
Excellent small hotel, very well sited. Only downside was that my wife found the bed a bit too firm.
It was amazing and loving staff!!
good location to walk to sites
very friendly and helpful staff, nice comfortable room, book about ravenna in hotel room with all kinds of helpful information on what to do, where to eat, etc. , could even walk to hotel from train/bus station.
Well-priced accommodation in central Ravenna
This is a very nice, well-situated hotel, very reasonably priced. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and the atmosphere pleasant. But overall the decor needs an upgrade and some modernisation to bring it up to contemporary standards.
Dull and disapointing room. Staff and breakfasts fine
Superb owner!
This was the most pleasant surprise on my trip. It's a local hotel but with the most inviting staff. The hotel was spotless, neat, organized. Breakfast was pure Italian which I love. Bathroom clean, nice towels and good wifi. He recommended two restaurants which were fabulous. One for wine and appetizers and another for dinner. The best cappelletti I have ever tasted at La Gardella. Anyone who come to Ravenna must go there for dinner.
all you could ask
pleasant and very helpful staff, good location, good price. couldn't be beat
Fine room and breakfast inside a plain wrapper
Nice hotel with great staff and robust breakfast. Exterior of hotel was plain and a bit rustic-- no curb appeal at all but once inside and up the half flight of stairs the folks at the front desk made you feel like you had not made a mistake in booking here. Room was visually appealing, simple, modern. Electrical system was initially confusing--ask for second key card so you can leave it in the electric slot and charge you phones when you leave the room.
You Won't Do Better Elsewhere!
We had planned to spend a day in Ravenna, then a day in Urbino, then on to Rome. For logistical reasons, we decided traveling to Urbino wasn't workable. We decided to stay a second day in Ravenna, in an upgraded room, made the hotel our headquarters, and had a wonderful time. The manager Filippo [sp?] was very helpful in working all this out and gave good advice on planning, sights, getting around, money machines, restaurants, and so on. He's a wise, very competent man! The room price was competitive. I STRONGLY recommend staying here! You won't do better elsewhere.
Wonderful staff and location.
What a wonderfully helpful staff. This hotel is in a fabulous location. Parking is just down the block and the least expensive and most accommodating parking of our entire three weeks in Italy. The rooms were simple, comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was lovely.
Great location and friendly staff
Right at the edge of the limited traffic zone, the hotel is a great base for exploring Ravenna. Staff is very helpful and friendly, much as anybody else you may come across in this relaxed city. The Bizantine mosaics should be on anybody's tour of northern Italy!
Great location, super friendly staff
Hotel Diana is perfectly located, central to everything we wanted to visit in Ravenna. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional--such a pleasure. Our room was spacious and quiet, very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Great location, walking distance to major sites. Clean and safe location, breakfast is basic.
Really good deal
This is an excellent deal.Located right in th city center very close to all the attractions, it offers decent accommodation at a budget price. Th staff is very helpful. Our room was small and painted with weird semi-nude portraits by Tamara de Lempicka but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great value.
Thumbs up
Great location. Convenient parking. Very good breakfast. Room a little small and needed updating. Very helpful staff.
A Jewel on the Adriatic
What a wonderful jewl of a city! Good Lucation & a wonderfully helpful staff!
Felt like home
Fantastic helpful and welcoming staff, spacious room, excellent location minutes from key site seeing points and restaurants
A great spot in Ravenna
Very enjoyable, a great location for visiting mosaic sites and for eating.
Friendly place
Very pleasant stay. Modern and simply furnished room. Quiet area. Good breakfast. Good location.
This has no title
The hotel was in a great location - everything we wanted to see was a few minutes' walk away. Yet the road was nice and quiet. Free use of bikes was a great boon for a cycle to Classe. The staff were all fabulous, the breakfast was varied and more than enough of everything was available. Our only minor quibble was that the shower was a bit feeble, but it had no negative impact on our stay. Tutti sono multi bene!
A Great Hotel in Old Ravenna
We loved Hotel Ravenna for several reasons: great staff who helped us in every way from arranging Hotel Diana bicycles for us to use free of charge to explore the UNESCO Byzantine mosaic sites, to replenishing our water bottles with fresh cold water, to suggesting an itinerary for exploring the historical Byzantine sites, for recommending how to travel by train to Rome, and for guiding us to a great gelato place and restaurant. Secondly, our room was quiet, spacious, and shielded by the sun with a metal awning. However, the bathroom has a couple of challenges. First of all, the toilet is close to the tiny shower, so sitting on it is cramped. Secondly, the shower has a very small opening. Anyone larger than a size 10 might have problems fitting through the shower's door opening. You have to be fit and trim to squeeze in! Otherwise, Hotel Diana has a great location that cannot be beat. We loved it!
coming.Comfortable and welcoming oasis
The welcome we received was a good sign of things to come. Location was convenient and the room spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast room and menu surpassed anything we had experienced in moderate priced hotels in Italy before. The staff was helpful and most welcoming. We hated to leave and would love to return to the Hotel Diana gain.
Great Staff, Good Location
We stayed here for only one night. When we arrived at check-in time, and were checked in, we found that the beds were made but the towels in the bathroom had not been exchanged. We noticed that the maids were working in rooms nearby, so we figured we would give them a chance to finish before complaining. We went out to see a few monuments and, when we returned, everything had been taken care of. The staff here were super helpful. There is a nearby public parking lot that costs 2 Euro as opposed to the 10 Euro for the closer parking garage. They pointed us towards several different restaurants, including ones not on the map and those which served primarily local ingredients and dishes. We were very well-rewarded with our choices, and also received directions to some nearby businesses that we had to visit (pharmacy, bank, etc.). The only substantial complaint that I have is that a woman who was working the desk in the morning was either unable or unsure of how to check us out. This was a bit of a problem as we were in a hurry to get to our next destination. Thankfully, we were finished with just enough time to arrive at our next destination without being late.
Helpful Manager
We stayed for 2 nights and had good wifi, excellent breakfasts, and a very helpful manager. I would stay here again.
Perfect for Ravenna
Easy walking distance from train station and right in centre of Ravenna.
Perfect location
Perfect location for a visit to the wonderful city of Ravenna - everything is within a few minutes walk. Bit of difficulty finding it initially but you basically just need to follow the "Hotel" signs and a nearby car park has very reasonable charges and is only a few yards away.
Relaxed and quiet and roomy
We asked for a twin bed room and was given a very spacious room and large bathroom. Staff all friendly and helpful with excellent english. In quiet area in easy walk of San Vitale. Lavish breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Good wifi even at end of corridor
Good location and facilities
Modern rooms in a convenient location.
Great hotel, friendly helpful staff - recommended
The gentleman on the desk couldn't have been more helpful, he was welcoming and helpful, able to provide all the information we needed without fuss. The hotel was a little difficult to get to but that is part of driving in Padua but once there the quality of the room and overall hotel was great - especially as we had just come from a cramped room in Venice! Would recommend this hotel highly and would certainly stay again if ever I get a chance to return to Padua.
Excerllent stay in the heart of Ravenna
This was a great experience, in all aspects.
What a delight!
We were thrilled with this hotel. It far exceeded the quality other Italian hotels we had stayed in. Admittedly we were in a suite which was new & modern. The price was very reasonable...perhaps because it was February. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from. The staff were lovely. We walked from the train station towing large trolley suitcases, about 10 minutes, and it was no problem. Nice quite location but very short walk to the main attractions. I would stay here again.
Friendly and helpful
Well situated hotel within easy walking distance of all historic sights in Ravenna. Superb buffet breakfast. Helpful staff who provide advice on getting around and where to eat. When I got home I discovered I had left my house keys in the room. They found them and posted them on to me straight away. Very good value and highly recommendable for a few days in this fascinating city
Centre de Ravenne
Très bien situé, personnel prévenant et parlant parfaitement le français. Literie un peu vieillissante.
Trevligt hotell med bra läge. Fräscht och fina rum.
Personnel très sympathique et dynamique. Bon accueil. Hôtel près des centres d intérêt. Excellent petit déjeuner
