Great hotel and staff
Fantastic location, service and food. Allowed an early check in and couldn’t do enough to help. We’ll definitely return to this hotel on our next visit.
Too expensive. Lots of hidden charges . I was shocked
A smaller boutique hotel that is outstanding. Much much more interesting than the bland international hotels. Very comfortable room in bed. Staff was amazing.
Normally stay at International Hotels for business travel but decided on this one for location. It's a great hotel with a very unique charming set up. Staff are outstanding and the bed was extremely comfortable. Will be coming back again.
Service was pretty good, the concierge was no help at all trying to sort out options for the day. Ended up by using Google and trip advisor. Hote was clean , breakfast was pretty good.
Nice!
Excellent property and staff Walkable to many sites
They are kkind and everything is perfect!
kudos
Excellent M Gallery Boutique Hotel
Excellent Hanoi hotel a stones throw from the lake.
Staff was very nice, room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good as well!
Beautiful Suites with a perfect view of the Opera House. Staff was kind and helpful. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
The hotel is in the middle of everything that’s happening in Hanoi, surrounded by beautiful cafes, and short walking distance to Hoam Kien Lake .
Good, comfortable hotel in a good location. Staff were very pleasant. Public areas on ground floor were fine but not special.
Central location, close to the lake, large stores and within walking distance the Old Quarter. Hotel staff very welcoming and eager to please, nothing appeared to be too much trouble, Hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. Rooms were well presented and had everything you need, including complimentary bathrobes. One particularly lovely touch was a card left out offering private car hire for tours of the city, airport pickup/drop off or day trips to outlying areas. All at reasonable costs. What I did find a little pricey was all the mini bar prices and eat-in facilities. But I guess this is the price for pay for location !! The casino below was a wonderful bonus if you enjoy chancing your luck and the swimming pool/spa area was well equipped and very inviting. Would I stay here again? Absolutely
Our room was incredibly dark - painted black and a small window- very claustrophobic
Friendly and helpful staff
The hotel was not classier than I had expected. Sometimes I heard the voice from next room because of thin wall. However the location was perfect to enjoy walking around the lake.
WiFi too weak in my room They changed the room for me Then suddenly noise came from next door The hallway a bit old smell It’s not terribly bad but I didn’t like it much
Such a nice hotel to stay, and good staffs
Very nice hotel with great location
Very nice hotel. Suite room was a bit cramped, but beautiful and very comfortable bed.
Better options available
Very normal. Service is like a 2-3 star hotel.
Great location, wonderful and professional staff. Rooms are very clean.
Hanoi’s finest
This place is total class. We arranged for airport pick up. They were there, very inexpensive for 4! We enjoyed the breakfast buffet.. huge selection. Service impeccable. Front desk were so helpful, efficient and spoke English very well. Would highly recommend this place for a visit to Hanoi, we’re easy walk around town and into old quarters
Convenience
Pleasant stay. Friendly and helpful staff.
Worth considering
Great location, great staff, and most always a very pleasant stay. Some rooms are a little dated and that should be considered. I did have a couple bathroom issues...
This hotel was absolutely outstanding. Decorated with wonderful flair, the rooms are incredibly comfortable, staff gracious, polite and helpful, and the breakfast is to die for! if I am ever back in Hanoi, I’m not going to look any further. This is my place. It couldn’t be any more conveniently located either right in the heart of the French quarters.
Very aged dated dark wallpaper peeling off walls.
It was an unique room setting ! When you enter the room you notice the opera decor with the red velvet pillows and the arm chair and the foot rest the same in red velvet .The bathroom mirror is surrounded by the lights to give you the impression you are in the back stage applying the make up ! The only problem we had , the bed was too high but they brought us 2 foot stools and removed 1 small mattress and the problem was solved! Excellent service and excellent location
Awesome nice hotel and clean great hotel for business traveler
The location of the property is excellent within easy walking distance to the Opera and HK lake. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The major major minus is the lighting in the rooms which are far too dark; as a result of which I had to pay for an upgrade to a well lit suite
Ok nice place. Good food. Will recommend friend stay this place
no natural light in the room. the room might be for those who like theater decoration
Generally nice ambient and classic. Was there on Saturday, held a grand event with many pretty ladies! Security is generally good.. Booked a king size bed room, instead was given a ‘king size’ bed with two single beds combined. What was really terrible was the bed base board protruded so much that I almost fell while getting off the bed twice. Bed was too high for my height of 1.68m, made it not easy to get on the bed. Checked out at 6.50am on 25 Sept, only one counter staff handling checking in and out, had to wait more than 10 minutes.
An Upgrade will be nice
The hotel location was great. But the hotel does show signs of aging . The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous and large .
Had to change roooms in the middle I f night. Make sure you get a room facing the central hall, no view is better then the noise coming from a local diaco
Good location, nice rooms and helpful friendly staff
Extremely friendly staff, excellent location very central and we were able to walk to most places we wanted to see. Food is very good. Nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely recommend
Hanoi
This property is in a good area but overvalued compared to other hotels in the area. very basic in F+B The suite rooms are very overstated they do not compare to normal suite rooms.
Whimsical hotel with great service
Hotel was super cute, eclectic, and whimsical. Service is wonderful. My fridge was broken which wasnt a big deal but I had medicine that needed to stay cold. The conceigre stored it for me overnight which was a life saver (literally). The gym is cozy but clean and modern with a nice balcony. The next day I had to check into the Hilton with a group and they arranged a taxi to go around the corner so that I did not have to tote by 2 large bags across the busy intersections. Wish I had another night here to enjoy the other ammenities but after spending one night here and 1 night at the Hilton, my preference is Mgallery. Restaurants in area are also great!
Gorgeous rooms! Good location and good breakfast, really enjoyed my stay
Too much noise next door room during night despite calls to front desk
Very clean and welcoming. Staff are amazing and bilingual. Location is perfect for tourist.
Good location!! Food excellent! Don’t book any tour with hotel.. that is a rip-off
Service/staff was excellent, but the rooms ehh.
The staff/service were excellent, lobby was nice as were the public areas. Good location, etc. Did not use the pool or eat at the hotel, so can’t comment regarding same. Our only concern were the rooms. We stayed here three non-consecutive nights and found the rooms need some addressing. It was a lot of little things, but they start to add up. In room 502 the floor was warped in one area, but just covered with a rug. In room 302 the lights didn’t work properly. The knobs by the doors had to be turned considerably too long to go on and at times the lights flickered. Also the lights around the vanity needed to rectified. In several of the bathrooms either the outlets are an issue or the blow dryers are, because the blow dryer would not stay in the outlet and simply falls out mid-use. Our first room, which I think was 206, the door opens halfway and then kinda got stuck and gets considerably more difficult to open. There were some other little issues and it starts to add up. The rooms don’t feel like a 4-5 star hotel.
Not Bad, But....
I've stayed at this hotel a few times. The inner rooms face an internal courtyard which means that the rooms are always dark. The beds are probably the highest I have ever slept on (I'm six feet tall), I wouldn't like to fall out of one! Staff are nice. Bit expensive for what it is. Super Italian restaurant across the road and close to the centre of town.
Very nice area and great amenities.
This is a great hotel and it’s very close to all the great places in Hanoi. We had a mishap with the concierge who was incompetent and arrogant but the manager was great and handled it with a lot of professionalism which we truly appreciated. The hotel has great amenities and is very classy
Great location, easy walk to old quarter without being in it. The tall atrium that the hotel is built around is a bit dim and depressing, and rooms overlooking it are dark with no view. Rooms on street side are great if you can get one of those (I suspect these might all be a bit more expensive though)
The front desk staff were nice. The 8th floor where I stayed had an overwhelmingly bad smell (cat?) mixed with a strong cleaner (like acetone). The carpet is ripped in the hallways. The room where I stayed was dark and decorations are eccentric. Did not have the appearance of a 5-star hotel. The housekeeping staff knocked a few minutes after I arrived and asked if I needed anything (is this typical?) The next morning they ignored the Do Not Disturb sign and cleaned the room while I was out and turned the Do Not Disturb off. (I realize it is hotel policy in some places, but would prefer to be notified.) I switched to another hotel after the first night.
Fridge did not work. Room A/C was noisy and barely worked. Bed was stupidly high off the ground. One (of three only) lifts had a faulty button so we couldn't select our floor in that lift.
Great location ; tired hotel
While in a good location, the hotel needs to be cleaned up. The paint was peeling. The pool looked murky. The loungers filthy. The concierge seemed clueless.
Lovely Staff with great customer care, Fantastic Location it was close to restaurants, shops, landmarks. We used the hotel car for transfers to airport and the driver was the best.
The hotel looks tired and rooms too. However the staff are wonderful and the breakfast is great!
Air conditioner wouldn’t turn off. No hot water for a shower one whole day/night. Multiple room service mix ups. Windows are all ‘unopen-able’ = no fresh air or breezes. Floor with balconies (7th) completely closed for maintenance during my week there. Terrible coffee in dining area. Buffet was just ‘ok’ with no ‘wow’ factor.
Great location, comfortable room and surprisingly quiet. The staff were excellent and always eager to please. Bedrooms are on the small size and the black and pink colours are quirky. Only complaint was that the pool water didn’t seem well filtered, so didn’t use it.
Well located hotel near the center of town and the Hoan Kiem lake. Hotel management and staff were very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs with fine attention to detail.
Should not be a 5 star hotel
The hotel rooms (at least ours) was in need of renovating. The wall paper that looked so cool in the pictures was peeling, paint was chipping off in the bathroom and everything looked like it needed some updating. Definitely wasn't 5 star or even 4 star quality. Common areas are nice, staff was very nice and location is good. Overall it was an ok stay. Just not a five star hotel experience.
Top notch!
Great place! The decor is a little bit out-dated, but the service, amenities, and location were all top notch. Would stay again!
A good hotel in prime location
The hotel is in prime location and all the staffs are good, especially the concierge staff. Good size of rooms and good service. For me, the bed is too soft but if you feel the same, you can ask the hotel to remove the top feather mat away for you. The bathrobe is the best I have ever worn in any other hotels in the world.
Horrible hotel, overpriced, No hot water and poor water pressure
Exceptional staff
Everything was comfortable (the beds live up to the legend) and beautiful but the staff were exceptional. So kind and helpful.
Nice breakfast smiling at me
Great hotel, good location, nice breakfast - see below picture
Lovely hotel just a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake
Great location and very nice hotel!
Needs some maintenance
Good location. Walkable to many landmarks. Nice service. Hotel needs some maintenance. Chunks out of carpet, ceiling had some holes!! ( 3rd floor), breakfast buffet not well attended, many items cold that should have been warm. Nice service and food in bar area.
The restaurant service is too slow, food is average and overpriced.
Great hotel- nice room very clean very comfortable bed- definitely 5 star at an excellent value
Excellent location.
Staff is very courteous and helpful. The hotel is well presented, with a touch of charm. It may look a little outdated to some people but it is all in context. Rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable with excellent bedding. The swimming pool is small but we enjoyed the peace around it.
Good hotel. Only marked down a little due to building work on breakfast area during our stay.
Fantastic Hotel
My Wife and I had a fantastic time at this hotel. The Staff were amazing, the rooms were fantastic, food excellent, position perfect. easy walk to everything. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone heading over to Vietnam
Very nice hotel in the heart of Hanoi center. Check in and services were amazing including the spa. Only had breakfast once at the hotel and it did not dissapoint. The noda coffee served in the lobby cafe is abs amazing. Only negative I can think of is some of the rooms may need some renovations. Hotel needs to move the TV to a better stand than the big mirror stand in middle of the room. Other than that perfect stay.
Clean hotel
Very clean, very friendly staff, very nice breakfast.
Location of hotel was convenient and accessible
Reception staff was very helpful and polite. Check-in & Check-out process was fast and smooth.
Good location but old hotel Breakfast is not bad Bed is too high, it’s suitable for family
Cute Hotel
The hotel was cute, fresh & clean lobby with nice decor. As expected, the rooms were small, but nicely decorated. Location is great. Not sure if it’s worth the high cost... but can’t compare it to another hotel . It has all the amenities of a 5-star.
Value for money
This is my first visit to Hanoi and the stay is really memorable. The location is very ideal as it is just a stone throw from the old quarter and well accessible to other places. The hotel is clean and the amenities are well maintained. The team also went the extra mile to offer a complimentary cake to celebrate my first wedding anniversary.
Left after an hour
We arrived at 9pm at the start of a 5 night stay. Reception expected our 12 year old to share a double bed with us. When we showed the receptionist the booking which clearly showed an additional child, he told us it would be a additional 50 dollars a night for a room with an additional bed. He clearly thought he had backed us into a corner and saw it as an opportunity to make more money. We booked an alternative hotel through Expedia and left. Expedia customer service gave us a full refund. Many thanks for your brilliant service.
Made Me Realize How Important Service Quality Is
When you think of a 5 star hotel, what do you think of? Beautiful room, luxurious lobby, good food, etc. But service quality might not be one of the top things that comes to mind. This hotel changed the perception and showed me how important service quality is to a 5 star hotel. A hotel where everytime you go back is like you are going back home. When you go to a foreign country you'd have to make sure you have people you can count on and trusted. This hotel provided us with such people and compensate with everything that we asked for without any doubt. In the world, there are written rules and there are things that can be flexible. I love flexibility, it's called being human and making sense. I've experienced rigid hotels where nothing is flexible: you can't order something that's not on the menu even if they have all the items; bad rooms can't be changed because it's not the standard, etc. They could have done it, but they don't since they don't know how to just be human and help another out. When a hotel is willing to be flexible without questions like this one, you know you'll have a happy stay. Vegetarian? They can make you vege meals not on the menu; room not comfortable? They can let you see other rooms. Always with smile, respect, and humanity. I haven't even talked about the room and lobby and pool etc. You can see from the pictures they are great already. What's the world without humans? This hotel restores your hope in humanity.
Perfect stay at Hanoi
Room spacious, charming deco, comfort pillow bedding, ferfect location in heart of Hanoi.
Fun and unique rooms. Movies every night in the tall covered atrium where they serve drinks and all sorts of items.
Very good hotel in Hanoi
The hotel is very nice and well located and I can confirm that it has maintained a very high level of quality in the last few years. However, I noticed that there are a few things that are showing some flaws and there cold be a better maintenance. Overall, I think that there are some signs of aging that could be better managed.
Stunning Welcoming Hotel
Amazing customer service throughout. Beautiful rooms. Excellent food.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Terrible beds that are just too high. Bathrooms are good to look up, but not easy to use. Getting into and out of the bathtub can be risky. There is a lack of common sense in all the things in the suite we stayed in. For example, you can watch TV only when you are in bed. If the TV can be turned around, there were no instructions how to go about it.
Great hotel with caring services !
The room was spacious and clean, staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, the location was great to get around and we really enjoyed our stay. We also love the breakfast with all the fresh fruits which is perfect for a hot summer morning!
Wonderful clean hotel at a good location. Fantastic staff. A minor issue is that the breakfast and lunch spread is quite minimal. Good food but can improve on taste.
Wonderfull hotel and exceptional staff
I could not fault either the service or the hotels great and enthusiastic staff
Great hotel for a stay in Ha Noi. Hotel de L’Opera is a beautiful property with a central location and with warm service.
Beautiful hotel with great service. We were staying 1 night before a transfer to Halong.
We had a wonderful stay! Amazing sleep due to those beds! Nice breakfast and super nice staff !
Great stay!
Staff very helpful and curteous. Loved our stay.
Over night stay
It was nice hotel but I was not very happy with the breakfast . Over all it was ok for the price
Very nice hotel, spacious and located in city center, close t shops and restaurants.
Great luxurious hotel
Can't fault the front desk and bell. Everything almost perfect except perhaps a few minor issues which may not bother most: 1. mattress too thick and soft to my liking 2. pool too small and deep 3. restaurant serving staff were slow and mixed up orders at breakfast
Great visit
Great location, room is awesome design and comfortable! Will definitely go back again!
excellent
Everything perfect. We liked breakfast The service perfect too. Front desk tried to help anytime
Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi
This hotel is an excellent choice to be near the center and most of the shopping in Hanoi. The restaurant is excellent and staff is very good. The rooms are a little dated, but acceptable.
Fixed the Internet: Yay!
L'Opera has always been very good but it was let down by dreadful internet which is a must have for business travellers. Now they seem to have fixed it so the place gets a well deserved Five Stars.
The staff was awesome! The concierge was extremely helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect and close to most everything. We really enjoyed our stay.
Excellent location and good facilities in the hotel with very pleasant staff

Truong Le, one of the staff at the hotel was very helpful. Guided us access around town specially to a local music concert.
