The bed was dirty full of hair, i asked the receptionist to replace it but I've been told we have no room service at 1 am. They gave me new blankets and i personality changed it. The property was ok for 3 star hotel, the receptionist was unprofessional. I looked at the expedia pricing try to book it, the lady told me we don't offer that rate. I told her if i book it now through Expedia, you won't be able to give me the room she told me No, the price per night is $166. I booked through Expedia it was $88 per night and went back to her and showed her the conformation number. After 5 minutes she told me yes we can give it to you because i was about to call Expedia to make a complaint about the hotel . Another big problem when you call reception from your room i never get a chance to talk to someone. No kne answered the phone. I was supposed to go down to ask something. After all that i asked the manager to do kate check out, they told me due to high volume of clients yiu can't do kate check out, i just asked 1 esmxtra hour insted of 12 pm do check out at 1 pm. The food was horrible and the room smells chlorine. I used expedia for over 20 years now and this is the first bad review i wrote about my experience. Sorry but i had no choice to express my experience with this hotel. Bybthe way the location is great full of nice restaurants around that area and hotel was quite. I also like the bathroom it was very clean.
Great location and staff.
Great position on la rumbla, good food choices close and can walk everywhere.
I love the property the staff and location
Very fine hotel in the middle of the action. 24 hours courtesy buffet, fine breakfast every day. Great staff, very comfortable rooms . Great value.
Everyone at this property were very friendly and accommodating. The food, wine and beer were excellent, rooms clean with great views. Already booked it again for our next trip.
Excellent location, clean rooms, updated bathroom. Hotel offers 24hr snacks, wine and beer at no charge. Easy to check in and out.
I would definitely stay here again
Staff and facilities just fine! Construction in front of hotel did not cause internal problems at the hotel, just a little more congested at entrance.
Good
Property is old and not updated . Elevator is slow and didn't display numbers so you didn't know what floor you were on. Rooms were small . Location was good .
This property was in an awesome location. It was in the centre of a busy district. There was construction going on when we were there in November but once that is completed, it will be easier to get in and out of the hotel. It is not highend or fancy but it is clean, and great location. Complimentary food was perfect as well. Will definitely stay there again on next visit.
The staff was excellent, it was quiet facing the courtyard, excellent location.
Great amenities in the morning and evening. However the room was small and a bit dated.
Room is super nice, 24 hrs buffet is a plus, though only few choices still enjoy. Very convenient and walkable. Cons construction outside which is not their fault.
Property was hard to access due to construction directly in front. Taxi dropped us off a short distance away and we had to maneuver suitcases around construction to hotel. Property itself was clean and the staff was very pleasant.
Great location and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would stay at this hotel again when traveling to Barcelona.
Las Ramblas under construction
Unfortunately booked hotel for Las Ramblas but it was being dug up. Outside the hotel it was noisy and felt dangerous because you were stuck behind fencing to keep you away from the work. Our third floor room window looked out to a wall, most disappointing. (Perhaps it was a blessing not having a room with a view!) Need was comfy but not a lot of room to negotiate either side of the bed hence toes were stubbed many times. It was lovely the food was free 24/7 but I’d rather pay a small amount and have nicer food and drink. The lift is old as is the door security and perhaps they’d like to be invited into the 21st century?
Amazing location! We enjoyed our stay.
Two couples traveling to Barcelona for 2 nights before a cruise. We loved the location of this property! Right in the heart of things. We took Aerobus to a nearby stop & walked 2 blocks to the hotel. The 24 hours buffet was nice. We would grab a snack & sit outside in the evenings. & enjoyed breakfast. Room was a decent size & bathroom seemed updated. Loved sitting on our balcany people watching. Staff was super friendly & helpful. Tip - there is a place about 3 blocks away called Corte De Ingles where they have a very reasonable cafeteria on the 9th floor, where you get a great view of the square & beatiful at night. Food was very good, nice wines and super reasonable price.
This hotel was recommended mainly because it has a 24 hour buffet. This was excellent for soft drinks, beer and coffee. The wine was not good. The food was not appetizing. It sat for a very long time. There was fruit and bread and pastry that was tasty. The room was great with a cute balcony looking over the Ramblas. The road in front of the hotel is being repaired so we had to walk from the corner with our suitcases. It was an excellent location for walking throughout the city. Price was a bit high. Staff especially the room steward was excellent.
Room was too small Strange getting into hotel Would not stay there agsin
We loved our stay there. Great location.
Great location
Great location
Great property, awesome location, and the wonderful food and beverage available choices. All day is a plus.
Nice Hotel
Great location, friendly staff, and a nice selection for breakfast. Only downside was the bathrooms being sparsely furnished. There is no shampoo, conditioner, or wash clothes. 2 bath towels were provided that were very thin.
Great location with food & drinks always available
Great location and fun to sit on the balcony watching the people below on La Rambla. Nice to have food and drinks always available, but don’t expect too much from the food selection as it’s pretty limited. Still nice to have something though. Bed was comfortable and room was nice. Staff were always helpful and spoke good English.
First off, this is a charming old, old hotel with some history smack in the middle of Las Ramblas. You cannot get a better location. While the hotel is quaint, with long and somewhat intricate hallways, you soon come to appreciate its comfort. The room was appropriate and the bathroom facilities what you would expect, the shower and nice hot water, crisp towels were very welcoming after a day of exploring Barcelona! AND the surprise was that they offer a 24/7 buffet, which includes unlimited beer, wine and ice cream, well stocked with both warm and cold offerings. That alone deserved a 10 star review!!! Did I mention that there is a garden room and a room overseeing Las Ramblas, so you can sit with your wine/beer and relax after a full day of walking!!!
We have stayed there many tomes. Very convenient.
Great Service, Oasis away from the crowds, 24 hour friendly service. Great location. We enjoyed our stay and would definiitely come back.
Staff at hotel were very friendly.
This was a great hotel. Friendly staff. Vlean tooms. Nice batbrooms. Handy all day good and srink bar. Wpuld stay again and recommend.
Best Location Ever!
We really enjoyed the location! Walking distance to everything, metro 200 yards away! The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be that it is noise outside. I was waken up multiple times a night, but I am a light sleeper. We still would have chosen this location. Being on the terrace and looking down the La Rambla was amazing.
Great location, close to shops and subway. Construction in front , on going for 3 yrs.
The staff was amazing! They were also positive and friendly and there for us.Any time we needed assistance or direction. The 24 hour food and drink was very convenient. Based on tours and times in and out of the hotel.
Excellent location in Barcelona! Friendly staff and clean and quiet.
Hotel and staff excellent . There was some constructoon out front which was inconvenient.
Beautiful
Overall nice place. Good value and the 24 hr food was great!
The street Las Ramblas is currently under construction on the side the hotel entrance is on as of 9/15/2024. There is no direct access and you have to walk across the street then over and down the street with all your luggage to get there. They have no outside bellman to help you with your luggage either. It’s a nice hotel but due to construction it’s very noisy and walking to and from the hotel is not the best. The “buffet” is limited and just basic continental as items they put out aren’t that great.
Great staff. Complimentary Breakfast and all day luncheon foods a lovely touch.
Greet around property is under reconstruction. No access from car. Very unconvenient. Property has old fashion locked system. No supply in bathroom
Great small hotel on La Rambla, close to taxi zone. Nice breakfast with great espresso machines. Also, food setup for lunch and afternoon. Nice comfortable Room.
good location on Las Rambles, near end so easy access to taxi on nearby main road; great 24/7 food provided (breakfast, lunch, dinner); small elevator confusing to use but typical of such properties; no english channels on tv
A very wonderful 3 star hotel Everything was perfect I’d come here again if I visited Barcelona in the future
I wish we would have been told that the entire street was dug up and unacceptable to us, booked a small balcony that we could not use do to the dirt flying and jackhammers constantly going? Wish I had of been notified of this? I would have chosen another location
The street is under construction so difficult for drop offs and pick ups with luggage.
The food on the buffet st.ayed there all day. Same thing every day. Hotel needs updated.
-
We loved the area. Close to the market and the hop on hop off buses. Plenty of restaurant's near by
Road construction ongoing right in front of the hotel makes it difficult to take your luggage to and from the hotel difficult. You would need need help especially if you not mobile enough to take it across the street on your own. When check in and check out during your stay. Staff are good and friendly and food is good.
The hotel is extremely old. Nothing is nice about it except for the location
Spot on location for those who want to stay in the heart of Barcelona, with just few steps away from Plaza Catalunia, where there are all types of transport available. The hotel offers free breakfast and keeps some fruit, coffee and snacks 24h long. The room was small, but had all we needed. The bed was super comfy and the shower was powerful. Just didn't like the fact that u need to leave the keys at the reception every time u leave the hotel. Also, the lift was too small and busy, as there are 3 hotels in the same building. Apart from it, everything was great! There was a massive chandelier in the coffee room with a view facing Las Ramblas.
Loved the service and hospitality of this hotel - the rooms were a good size, the balcony overlooked La Rambla, but yet somehow the noise didn't come inside the room when the window was closed. The free wine and beer and 24 hr food was a great addition, we enjoyed lots of time in the courtyard based on this.
Very nice hotel!
The buffet was very convenient, the hotel was clean, the staff were helpful, and the location was perfect.
My first visit to Barcelona, I had a great experience, the location of the hotel was amazing, however, it would have been nice to know upfront that there was work going on in front of the hotel!! It was shocking to arrive and see the street right outside of the hotel being excavated. It made the location looked extremely dirty, smelly and difficult to navigate. Other than that, the staff were very friendly, and attentive.
The staff was amazingly helpful and kind
The location for this hotel can't be beaten. The superior room with balcony is right on Las Ramblas so great for people watching. Good internet and AC. The 24 hour FREE buffet including tap beer was very welcome! Highly recommend!
Good location
Perfect stay in Barcelona
Perfect location. Complementary food/snacks and drinks available 24/7 which you are welcome to take back to your room if desired. Viviene is an excellent hostess and explained everything we needed to know. Rooms have air conditioning which was very welcome, along with a fridge and microwave. Couldn’t have asked for anything more for a lovely stay in Barcelona.
Downtown location
Great location
The hotel was very pretty. Room was large and bathroom spacious. The staff was very helpful and polite. We had to check in early and they held our luggage and delivered them to our room. A/C worked well. Our ceiling fan was loud however and wobbley. Patio is small but a good people watching place over La Rambla. Easy access to a taxi drop off stop and other transportation. Breakfast Buffett provide and Ana is 24/7 plus free wine, beer, and sodas all day. Overall nice place to stay. Walkable to most sites or quick drive away.
Great location
That hotel is old but extremely clean and kept up. I always stay there and have always been very happy.
Comfortable and clean with complimentary breakfast and snacks. Convenient to many shops and restaurants.
Lovely spot. Excellent location in the heart of all activities. Easy walk to the beach or shopping. Many extras included the price as well.
We've stayed in dozens of European hotels, and this is one of the best if not THE best (for the price!) we've ever stayed in. The rooms are reasonable (not tiny) and ours had a balcony overlooking La Rambla (so there was always some "entertainment" to watch below!). The bed was very, very comfy. The shower could strip paint from a car (that is my deepest complement...I love a strong shower). The buffet was quite adequate for a European breakfast, with the amazing bonus of being open 24/7! I never bought breakfast and rarely bought lunch; the frozen yogurt and beer on tap made dessert and a cold one readily available. Staff are courteous, friendly, and multilingual. We never had a problem and just loved our stay. The location could not have been better...near the end of La Rambla and a few steps from a major undergrount/Metro hub. And the price was quite reasonable We were there 6 nights...strongly recommend.
It is a very unique and fun place with good free food all day. Right in the heart of La Rambla shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly!
Road was dug up outside the Hotel so made it a bit difficult not the hotels fault watch your breakfast if you eat outside or the pigeons will have it fantastic hotel lots to do in the area around the area
Worth the price.
We loved this hotel. Alex was wonderful and the rest of the staff were friendly and efficient. The buffet left lots to be desired, but for a quick breakfast, it sufficed.
la limpieza muy buena las habitaciones lindas y muy comodas
Great lication
Best location anyone can ask for
We enjoyed our stay very much. Item that pleased us were the following: very professional and friendly staff; the quaint european structure of the hotel; the availability of a buffet throughout the day; and the very close proximity to shopping and restaurants.
4 night stay in wonderful city
First time in Barcelona. We wanted to be close to La Rambla.
All day buffet is outstanding. Room was great, loved the balcony overlooking the Ramblas. Very quiet with the balcony doors closed. Very comfortable bed and nice shower. Central location just steps from the Catalunya Metro station is ideal. I highly recommend this hotel for a multi-day Barcelona stay.
We really enjoyed staying here - the balcony is very tiny but it was fun to sit outside and watch people on La Rambla. The room was small but very comfortable, there was also a 24 hour buffet of sorts as well as complimentary beer and coffee at all times. We loved it and would stay here again.
Lots of charm
It was great! Great location
Location was superb. Lobby and common areas charming in a funky 60, 70's way. Over the top. Rooms were updated and had what you needed. Staff most friendly and helpful. Outdoor breakfast area nice if pigeon ridden. But lobby and common areas are worn and dated so if that bother you you may not like this place. Food, while plentiful, is low quality.
The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was terrific, the location outstanding and the hotel so comfortable. We love this hotel!
Nice Hitel for the Price
Small, older hotel, but it has been well maintained. Great location. I had a balcony room and it was fun people watching out on La Rambla. Booked my ride to the airport through the front desk and had no problems. The driver even took my moms bags to the check in counter for her.
Awesome Hotel in Barcelona!
Great location. Friendly staff. Great amenities. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!
Location, location, location and a very helpful staff! 24 hour availability of food was a nice perk, with the understanding that options are limited. Noise from La Rambla was not an issue and the ease of use of transportation options was a definite plus. A great stay for a curious tourist who likes to explore.
Great location
Upon arrival were given room #249. This room should be taken out of service. It appears to be directly under a wooden floor dining or bar area. We could hear people above walking/stomping until 3:00 am. We asked to be given another room, which was fine. Based on our experience I would not recommend this hotel. Their website claims the rooms are soundproof, ours certainly wasn’t
Older hotel in a great location.
Hotel is ok
Great find.
A small hotel on La Rambla. Great balcony and 24 buffet. We have stayed here 3 times and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Barcelona.
I feel I contactedfood poisoning from wieners and loss a day throwing up with diarrhea and feel I should be compensated for one night
The hotel is located on La Rambla, just a couple of blocks down from Catalunia Square. It could not be any more convenient. It's next to The Gothic quarter (ideal for roaming for shopping and dining). The hotel is clean with some surprising amenities, like the 24 hour buffet, or the outdoor seating for dining. Our only moderate disappointment was our room location. We were in room 144, which is adjacent to one of the sitting areas. depending on how many people are in the area, it can be a bit noisy … nothing terrible, but disturbing. The desk staff was helpful when I asked them to help me with my boarding passes. We were quite happy with our stay at the Continental Barcelona.
Very nice, clean, quiet and perfect location. The staff is excellent.
We loved everything about this hotel! Quintessentially European, immaculate, great breakfast/all day buffet, awesome staff, well appointed rooms (ours had a balcony overlooking Las Ramblas). We loved it so much, we extended our stay!
The room was small but clean. The bathroom was very nice. There was a strong musty type of odor throughout the hotel but especially in the room. The wallpaper looked like the original from the 1930’s and the carpets were worn. The location on Las Ramblas was good. We would not stay here again as it didn’t meet our standards.
Clean and kind
Right in the heart of Las Ramblas
We booked this hotel mainly because of the location - which was absolutely ideal. It is right in the busiest part of Barcelona on La Rambla, so surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants etc. It was around a couple minutes walk to the metro, buses and city hop on/ off buses. Location is great - just note that of course this means you can still hear a lot of street noise from the rooms. The staff at the reception were always very polite, friendly and helpful. You do have to return your key to them every time you leave the hotel, and collect when you return. The hotel decor was very dated and dark, and could do with a complete revamp, same with the tables and chairs. They provide a free 24/7 snack bar, along with hot drinks, water, cold drinks, beer and wine, which is a great addition and very handy for us when we wanted to stop at the hotel for a drink before heading back out again. The breakfast selection wasn’t anything special, very basic and majority cold foods. The room we had was clean, and for the price we paid I can’t fault it. It also has air con and a safe, and the bathroom was spacious and quite modern. Having the balcony overlooking La Rambla was excellent, worth paying the extra for. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily book this place again.
We had a fantastic visit with this hotel. The all day buffet after a long all day excursion was unique for Barcelona and very welcome. The staff were all very accomodating. I look forward to returning to my Barcelona home in the future.

Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff.
