Very friendly receptionist, Ruby welcomed us with a lot of information of activities, provided a map and gave us all the directions to the main attractions. We’ve got a free upgrade into an annex building around the corner, very nice, spacious and clean room. Quiet space. Walkable distance to all main interest points. I recommend this place and I would love to come back! Well done! Thanks.
It was an eccellent value for the price
We are a couple from US. Hotel Ciao was clean, sheets were crisp and white, room was large, staff was friendly and very helpful. Location was extremely convenient 1 block from train, metro and bus station. Nearby dining opportunities were plentiful, good and well priced. We will stay at Hotel Ciao again next time we go to Rome.
This hotel served me well. Rooms are small but fine for the price. The location did not feel as bad to me as others say. There are now more police and security there than homeless people. Still, visitors will spend most of the time away from the area and the buses and metro make the rest of Rome accessible. Service was friendly and the no problems.
Friendly staff. Near train station.
We were in Rome really in transit to other places in Italy, looking for a place convenient to the railroad, not really for the highlights of Rome. This place is incredibly convenient to the Termini, literally across the street. What we hadn;t fully appreciate was how easily from this spot we could get to anywhere in Rome. The taxi stand is right there, as is the Hop on/off bus, the regular bus, and the Metro. We knew this was not a destination place for food, but the desk at Ciao told us about a great Roman style restaurant in the are very popular with the locals. La Familia was so good and authentic we ate there twice (only Americans in the place, all locals otherwise) . What can I say - the staff were great, warm and friendly. Nothing fancy, but a good clean room, relatively quiet considering the location, and way better than we were expecting. We'll stay here again. Not for everyone, no restaurant, gym, pool etc. but perfect for our needs.
The personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Good location.
Very nice room, very clean , staffs are great, very kind and helpful. Free coffee and water
Good services, close to transportation
It was a good stay for what it was worth. I would stay again.
Stayed 3 nights and the staffs were friendly, spacious room and very clean. Very convenient to Roma Termini station for bus, metro and train transportation. I would stay again at this place.
10/10 stay!
This hotel was amazing! Highly recommend! It has a good location next to Termini station, making getting to and from the airport easy as we did not need to lug our suitcases around Rome. Rooms come with a fridge and safe which are included in the brilliant booking. Air con was marvellous, especially coming in from walking around all day! The hotel staff were wonderful and so friendly, helped us with key information about Rome and gave us recommendations. Could not recommend it anymore.
Hotel Ciao was right in the heart of Rome. Everything is close by within walking distance from dining, shopping and also the main attractions.
Great staff, very helpful. Enjoyed our stay.
Great stay. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Our hotel Ciao experience was very good. We were greeted and welcomed in such a lovely manner! Our room was spacious and clean. As was our bathroom. It felt safe and was quiet for the duration of our stay. Being across from the Roma Termini was so helpful and the staff were incredibly helpful in helping us plan our day in Rome. Our vouchers for a traditional Italian breakfast were very much appreciated and the dinner recommendations and reservations were excellent! The property may only be one star - but the staff are five stars for sure!!! Would definitely recommend for the budget conscious traveler.
Great communication and easy check in
Great staff… clean rooms and great location….
A good simple "base camp" for the traveler who just needs somewhere to rest and recuperate after a long day's exploring. It's clean, has good internet, and the location across from the central terminal could not be more convenient. Also, the staff was all very cordial and helpful. It's not fancy, but I liked it. recommended.
Hosts were very friendly and the housekeeping is excellent. The beds were comfortable and the location is convenient. It is not the fault of the place that the Italian government is so inept they can't manage trash and homelessness near the train station. The area is FILTHY, garbage and human waste all over the streets. There are homeless people screaming outside the building almost all day and all night long.
Hotel Ciao is centrally located near the train station which is why I booked it. Looking at the photos of the rooms online did not match the room I received, which was very outdated and in need of repairs. The room I stayed in was the "triple" room. The bathroom shower did not drain so I had to turn off the water every 30 seconds and wait a few min before turning it back on. The shower curtain nearly touched the toilet, so you can visualize how small the bathroom was. Pretty inconvenient, as the floor was wet where one would put their feet to use the toilet. The staff members were nice and provided a voucher for a croissant and coffee at a nearby coffee shop which was appreciated. And they were flexible with check-out to be between 10 and 11AM which also was nice as it allowed for more time to explore. PROS: nice staff, good location, cafe voucher, clean room. CONS: outdated rooms, expensive for 1-star hotel ($200 CAD), issues with bathroom. Overall, I think you can find a better hotel for a similar price.
Staff were so helpful and friendly rooms were basic but clean and spacious with really good air con i would higy recomend them only down side is reception location is awkard
Very centric and it’s in front of the train. Pharmacies, restaurants and shops in just a minutes.
Just ok
Pros: - very friendly staff running the hotel and also very helpful - location is central and walking distance to Rome city Centre - ensuite bathroom - close to termini - for those who have early morning trains Cons: - I was told location can be dangerous as too many pickpockets and homeless people around termini. I never encountered any problems though - room is tiny and a bit claustrophobic - bathroom shower area is very tiny and no place to keep your soap/shampoo, etc - toiletries = 1 packet of shower gel - there is no sign of hotel ciao at all. So if you hadn’t read the reviews and didnt know that you need to register at hote luciani, you will never find hotel ciao - what they didn’t tell you - hotel Luciani is on the first floor and there is no lift. So if you are a solo traveler, you will have to haul your bags up to check in. Not a big deal for me, but may be for many. Overall: - very basic rooms, cannot be considered a hotel. Not really cheap considered what you are getting but then again, Rome ain’t cheap! :)
Convenience but not good
Not in the original hotel and a poor shower. Just a place for a short stay if you need a hotel just next to the train station.
"When in Rome"
Hotel Ciao is adjacent to Roma Termini and thus has immediate access to public transportation. It was super easy to find, the staff is multi-lingual, and our rooms were kept tidy. I would stay here again.
Comfortable and quiet enen though close to termini station for 2 min to walk. It was convience to trip other city. But you need to check in different location where close to walk.
Not a good place to stay. It is dirty and they levy heavy taxes.
Bom hotel.

Piacevole scoperta
Gradevole soggiorno.
It is a good optioon for a quick stay in Rome, but it is not luxury at all. Termini area is sketchy at night, so be careful. Nothing bad happened to me, but just be safe. Its price is unbeatble, tho
Ottima posizione, personale gentile ed accogliente! ☺️
Good and clean rooms, nice position next to train & bus station. I recommend it for short stays
Tänne tulemme toistekin
Ystävällinen vastaanotto, täydellinen palvelu koko ajan. Pienessä huoneessa kaikki kohdallaan, siistiä, viihtyisää, viimeisteltyä. Myös rauhallista. Erinomainen sijainti lentäen, metrolla ja junalla matkustavalle.
good
Ottima posizione vicinissimo alla stazione. zpersonale molto gentile e cortese, stanza molto pulita e confortevole.

Ciao is Great!
The place is charming. It isn't the ideal location period literally looks at the train station and it's convenient to grocery store shops. I mean, of course, the train station is full of shops. Is like a shopping mall. So everything designer and good restaurants are right there. And the people that. Run, the place are fabulous. They're so nice and so caring. And so understanding and so polite.I love that just genuinely humbling kind people. I loved it.The place is not fancy But it's perfect. It's very homey , it feels like a place you could stay for A long time and it feels very nostalgic.
