Absolutely lovely stay here

It was super clean

The staff is what makes this hotel special. They go above and beyond to help and accommodate you. The breakfast is splendid and helps you kick off the day. Another wonderful extra is the refreshing pool after walking the hot city.

Excellent service! Great location.

Small cozy hotel with a pool and a roof terrace that has somewhat view. The staff was AMAZING! We booked for 3 nights. First night we got downstairs room, view was to the pool and garden but people walked right in front of our window. They changed us next day to room 14 that had much more privacy, was more quiet and a view over the roofs of other houses. Room 14 and 15 would be my recommendation. Breakfast was very good. Lots of local fruit. This place is in Getsemani right next to a small square with couple restaurants. The location could not be better! Getsemani is more interesting, artsy and photogenic than the historic center (in my opinion) and it is about 10 min walk to the historic center.

Hotel was in great location staff was very helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Staff is great! Breakfast is simple but effective, the tiny pool is great for a quick dip after walking the city, great value.

The staff here are excellent, friendly and very accommodating. The location is great for walking and shopping. The room we were in, a deluxe room needed attention. AC didn't work correctly, neither did the TV. Soap dispenser in shower not working. Entry door to room hard to open and close. The facility needs some attention but the staff and location were superb.

Will was so friendly and nice. The property was clean and quiet. Easy to walk around. The only point is the breakfast. It was good and the ladies was nice but not so many options. Otherwise I like the place. Thank you.

The hotel was quaint, the staff was very friendly and the amenities are decent. An upgrade is need room wise but it was a good stay.

Even that it is closed to dining and bar areas, I did not hear the noisy at night time

A perfect walkable location within the walled city. Quiet hotel at 2 steps from the night party in the neighbouring streets and La Trinidad Plaza. Amazing, friendly and attentive staff with great recommendations for restaurants and activities. I have to mention the breakfast crew with their amazing service.

Superb experience at Hotel Casa Pizarro. Charming small hotel with local flavor, and to my taste much preferable to an antiseptic chain hotel. Staff was charming, warm and so very kind and helpful, breakfast was superb, loved the rooftop and my room, and location was great. Really perfect and I’ll be back.

Casa Pizarro como su nombre lo indica es un Hotel Boutique en una antigua casona colonial, muy bonito y acogedor, desde la recepción hasta el comedor todos muy atentos y dispuestos a ayudar, tienen que mejorar la presión del agua en la ducha y el colchón muy duro y sin una colcha, lo demás muy bien, ubicado en un área cercana a todo y a la vez el lado más tranquilo de la calle….

Great place. Great location. Great staff.

Very charming property. Rooms were comfortable and utilitarian. The only point was that the beds were not comfortable and the water pressure in the showers were dismal. Might sound minor, but having a comfortable bed is quite necessary for the weary traveler. Otherwise property is beautiful with a cute pool, and decent breakfast option. Staff was very helpful and attentive.

Amazing little hotel in a great area! Cindy checked us in at the front desk, she was so sweet! I’m currently injured & on crutches and she was really helpful and so kind! Our room was perfectly clean and equipped for our stay. Cute little area with a pool as well!

This hotel is very well located--close to all the action but on a quiet portion of the street that allows for a very restful sleep. Will and his staff are friendly and attentive. We loved our time at Casa Pizarro!

Great location in the old walled city

This hotel was everything expected. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The facilities are decent in the small boutique style hotel. The location can not be bettered if you're after the old town. Surrounded by or near to plenty of restaurants, bats and cafes. Staff are superb.

The pool was a great spot to cool off after a walk on a very hot day. The suite was roomy, clean and comfortable . Great location!

The hotel is well suited for on a budget traveler. Not luxurious, but good enough for a restful night after roaming the streets of Cartagena. Avoid using a rental car if you can, the streets are VERY narrow and crowded. Uber and taxies are safe and reliable. The pool and daily breakfast was a plus from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and always eager to assist.

Had a wonderful stay. Such a cute and nice hotel. It’s in a great location and can walk anywhere.

The only thing I wish they fix is the water pressure in the bathrooms and the options for breakfast. There is only one option for breakfast everyday.

Wonderful staff and location

The property has its charm with the architecture, but lacks proper maintenance. Little details, nothing major, but im surprised no one has noticed the paint, the doors, the faucets, etc. The location is pretty good.

i loved this little hotel. i understand people's frustration with the rooms and privacy options etc, but when i went to them with my request to change rooms they were very accommodating. i would say if you want a private bathroom/shower you have to request that....also if you want to be able to open your windows and want privacy you have to request that as well. the rooftop breakfast spot was lovely....the staff was kind and helpful.

Room was comfortable and quite large. Close to city center but far enough away so that noise wasn’t an issue. NO HOT WATER. The pool was so beautiful we used it almost everyday and it was so refreshing after walking around in the hot sun. Breakfast was really great in the mornings. Definitely recommend

We found this hotel to be the perfect first stop and home base to explore Cartagena. Highlights: the staff was wonderful especially Lena at the front desk who was so helpful. Breakfast was great everyday, the location is perfect, one block from the waterway, and the getsemani neighborhood is friendly and art centric, and walkable. You can walk anywhere in the old city also from here. The swimming pool was heavenly and we also appreciated the fridge stocked with cold water and beer. The room was perfect for us also, and the a/c was ice cold. Very secure and very quiet at night we slept very well also. Perfect spot-

Everything was as expected. I definitely will come back

I liked the old character that the place had. It is hidden and not the easiest place to get to. They have a gate which is always locked. It is noisy outside and inside to - to a certain degree. They have these doors that you’d find in fitting rooms of a department store. You hear everything inside. If you’re looking to sleep, this may not be the place for you. If you’re planning on spending most of your time away from the hotel, this place is ideal.

Great launchpad to explore Cartagena

Casa Pizarro is located in a great spot right in the middle of the vibrant Getsemanni neighborhood, a stone's through from Plaza de Trinidad and all of the iconic colored streets the area is known for. It is also only a matter of five minutes to walk to the clock tower, and explore the old town. The hotel itself is clean, and safe: they even have staff to unlock and lock the front door for you every time you leave or come back, which is nice. The room was clean, and very big - the bathroom was one of the biggest I've seen in any hotel I've been in. The area is very popular and lively so there's plenty to see and do without walking too far -- the flipside of that is that it can get a little noisy at night, but I guess that is to be expected. The only slightly bad note was on leaving - the staff offered to organize a taxi, and called a private car that ended up way overcharging us for the airport trip. There's plenty of taxis on the street, so might be better to try your luck out front instead. Other than that, a great experience, and a perfect spot to explore Cartagena from.

The hotel was clean and nice; however, very noisy area and the beds are very hard. There are only sheets on the beds, perhaps they need to get some blankets. The front desk lady was very rude to my family members who live there. They would not let them come to my room to take a shower or nothing. Would I stay here again probably not, but it wasn't bad. I would rank this place 3 out of 5.

Mold in rooms

The room was small and not as advertised, it had mold. The water pressure and temperature was bad. Night shift doorman was rude.

Nice and quaint

The room didn't look like the picture. The esthetic of the room is old and in a need of replacing or repair. The front desk clerk wasn't friendly and they charged me for the room i had already paid for in advance. The next day they refunded me what they had charged me. I paid for two people and later that night they wouldn't let my guest enter. If they were such a family oriented hotel then say it in your promotional. The food for breakfast wasn't good. To make a long story short this hotel is not what they advertised to be and the price they charge is a rip off.

I wished I could give this place 5 stars because the location was convenient , the interior was beautiful and all of the the staff were excellent. However the one thing that really ruined our short stay was the amount of mosquitos in our room. We each got 20 mosquito bites in our 2 days stay and that’s with slathering ourselves in bug spray during day/night. The mosquitoes were swarming us in our room! We didn’t even get bit walking around the city and only got bit inside the hotel. My girlfriend is allergic and swelled up everywhere( including face and neck).I think the hotel should invest in some screens for the windows or mosquito candles. It may not go with aesthetic but it’ll change the place back from casa de mosquitos to casa de Pizarro.

Working holiday couldn't have been better!

From the first moment we arrived staying at this hotel was just a delight! We arrived Wednesday and had to immediately hunker down and finish our remote work day, and continue working normal business hours Thursday and Friday and Casa Pizarro provides a fantastic atmosphere for a great working holiday. Would definitely recommend for both tourism or a work trip with a bit of enjoyment! Great wifi, great service, great rooms!

It is embedded in a lively neighborhood. Very close to the convention center and the harbor. Nice pool, free delicious full-service breakfast. It is useful to be able to speak spanish at this hotel but you could manage I suppose without. Everyone was kind and helpful. I think this hotel is a good value for what they charge.

Excellent hotel

High quality boutique hotel in middle of Getsemani. Charming small town square with restaurants outside. We had the Executive Suite, which was huge and well worth the additional cost. Great place to escape the heat. The pool is quite small, with very little space around it in which to relax, but there is also a great roof terrace. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff is not accomodating at all. They refused to cancel our booking after explaning that there has been a problem with the date when booking. I lost a lot of money with them.

Loved the location, the open, airy feel of the entire place. We enjoyed the pool to cool off each afternoon. Our room was simple but peefect- very comfortable bed, spacious shower with hot water & good water pressure. Breakfast is included and it was delicious each morning. The coffee was divine.

Clean, simple &modern design, nice pool to cool off in during the hot afternoon. Great neighborhood, much quieter at night than other Getsemani hotels on the main strip but it’s just a 1 minute walk around the corner - still very safe at night Nice breakfast on the terrace each morning Kept our large suitcase for us for 2 nights while we went to the Rosario islands Would stay again!

I love love love this property. It’s literally in the best location ever ! Close to all the hot spots ! Restaurants , bars , stores , pharmacy and close to all the beautiful artwork ! The breakfast is absolutely amazing ! I got an upset stomach from food I ate on the street and immediately the awesome gentleman from the front desk had the pharmacy deliver me medication and he bought me tea . Before his shift ended he asked how I was feeling . I love the front desk guys soooooo amazing ! I would come back to this location a million times !

The location of the hotel in Cartagena - Getsemaní is unique, the neighborhood is picturesque and not as crowded as Centro histórico. Really enjoyed it.

This hotel is located on a quiet street in the Getsemani neighborhood. It was the perfect location after a hectic day in the city center, near a popular plaza, restaurants, bars, and beautiful graffiti. The air conditioning and hot water were excellent, as was the dipping pool. The breakfast of coffee, eggs, toast, and fruit was satisfying and the service was pleasant and quick. All the staff were quite helpful and extremely accomodating, and it was nice to jave the 24-hr staff member at the desk. The room was small, cool, and was cleaned superbly every day during our 7-night stay. One thing to note: Through the thin door and windows you could hear other guests opening and closing their doors, as well as any loud noises from the street. We did not mind as we were exhausted every night.

Boutique hotel in Getsamani

Great pool. Grey deck. Good feeling of space. Nicely restored building. Well run good service. I thought the Casa Relax there sister hotel was slightly friendlier and I preferred the breakfast there and also the pool is definitely larger. However this one definitely has more space and airiness. Right in the middle of Getsemaní but a nice oasis.

Staff were excellent and helpful. The pool was a welcome treat to cool down mid-day, breakfast was very good and the location was perfect for us. I bit noisy at night, but I’ve come to understand that is what to expect when in a main centre in Colombia.

Nice place

We enjoyed the hotel, the staff, the room and the breakfast. The hotel is located in a great part of town.The breakfast was really good, complete with table side service on a very pretty rooftop.

Thoroughly enjoyed stay at this lovely property. Located on leafy quiet street just 2 blocks from Plaza de Trinidad with 3 nice restaurants right next door. Comfortable bed nice room and best shower of our 3 week trip They serve a very nice hot breakfast. Staff couldn’t be nicer and so attentive - go beyond to please. They stored luggage when we arrived early, took it up to our room when ready. When learned we had early flight and would miss breakfast they arranged for plate of fruit coffee juice and hot ham and cheese sandwich. Highly recommend this hotel and praise for staff esp Saira Ana Jose and Luis. They treated us like family.

Great spot

Great location. Getsemani walking distance to Plaza de Trinidad. Brilliant spot for sunset drinks and people watching. Great restaurants and bars in the area. Room a little tight but lovely. Water pressure in shower not great but water hot. Bed very comfortable. Staff super helpful and friendly. Pool super appreciated after returning from site seeing.

Nice location, room can be better

The hotel is located in a very nice location and close to everything. I was worried that it’ll be too loud but yet it was ok. The staff were nice and friendly and the pool was better than expected. Few things we didn’t really appreciate: the mattress was extremely stiff and uncomfortable, and the fact that we can’t completely close the shutters of the door which meant it was noisy when people even walked in front of the door. And finally the room could be a bit cleaner.

Great location in Getsamani. Far enough from the craziness of the walled city but close enough to everything . Everything is within a 15 minute walk in the old city . The rooms were clean and air conditioned . The breakfast was great as were the staff. They were accommodating and helped us set up a tour of Rosario Island . We were greeted with a plate of fruits. The only thing that to be considered is if you are a light sleeper , you might not like the noise from random street construction or nearby music . Otherwise , this place is recommended for the value and location . There’s also a small pool to cool off after a morning /afternoon of walking around in the heat .

Great

Lovely hotel in Getsemani, which is a more fun place to be than the Old Town - close to good restaurants and bars, but just 10 mins walk from the old town through colourful (and safe) streets. Room was lovely with aircon, huge bed and little garden with a nice hot shower which is rare in Colombia! Nice breakfast and pool.

Casa Pizarro is a beautiful boutique hotel that offers fantastic value for your stay. The rooms are clean, airy and secure. The rooftop patio and pool are lovely as well.

The Hotel architecture is classic Spanish colonial and every detail is intriguing, it was the right amount of rustic and modern. Location was right in the heart of Getsemani most colorful and cukturally rich neighborhood. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond with the level of Colombian hospitality shown to guests. The breafast was filling and freshly prepared daily. Room was clean and we were greeted on the firts day with a fruit basket....highly recommend this hotel

Terrific location in lively neighborhood very close to walled city. Staff were kind, wrlcoming, helpful, accommodating & generous with their assistance. Breakfast on rooftop terrace was a delight & the sweet little courtyard pool was perfect for a refreshing dip & added visual & aural interest to the space. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We loved this hotel!!! And we will definitely be coming back! I want to thank all the staff specially Anthony at front desk and Luis who served an amazing breakfast every morning!! Everyone was sooo nice and always willing to go above and beyond for the guests!! The hotel is really cozy and super clean!! The location was perfect, walking distance to the walled city and many other attractions!!

This hotel was great! The staff was awesome as was the room. We had a deluxe room with the jetted tub in the outside adjoining patio. The room is big and lots of room to move around. Very clean overall. Highly recommend. It’s off the path and about a ten minute walk from the historical area.

Nice and quiet

Hotel was small but nice and quiet. It had good Wi-Fi service as well and was in a good (central) location. My only suggestion would be to update the interior painting (doors mostly) in the room I was in.

Tranquil retreat to return to

Great pool. Wonderful view from rooftop dining area. Super helpful and friendly staff. Cartegena is magnificant and their lovely, perfectly small pool was a welcome retreat after walking the hot streets all day.

Nice hote for the money

Breakfast was nice.. staff at this hotel are great and very helpful.. would recommend this hotel to anybody.. if they call you a taxi they take 2 mins every time. Would stay here again

Great stay

Lovely boutique hotel, room and bathroom massive. Didn’t use the jacuzzi but having the options of opening the doors to the private outdoor space was nice! With a little more effort on the decor and lighting could be an amazing hotel. A bit of art and more of a colour scheme, better bathroom lighting (bulkhead lights are great for moisture but not very kind) also replacing the shower basket for toiletries. Pool was perfect for escaping the humidity.... made Cartagena’s intense humidity bearable!

Beautiful little hotel in a great location

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Our room was a little loud because it faced the street and didn't really have windows, but I guess that's just Colombia. Breakfast was fresh and served on a great rooftop terrace. Bed was clean and comfortable.

Hotel Casa Pizarro is in a great location. Within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. We had breakfast every morning at the rooftop restaurant and the food and service was great! Cons: We requested a taxi the night before our flight with the front desk staff member. We were leaving early in the morning (5 AM) but he assured us that he would have a taxi waiting in the morning. When we got to the front desk the following morning, there was no staff and 4 guests waiting in the lobby. My husband eventually tracked down the staff member on the rooftop watering the plants. My husband asked about the taxi and the staff member replied, "I'm sorry I forgot to call a taxi. I'll call when I go downstairs." We waited for almost 15 minutes and with no sign of a taxi and a flight to catch, we ended up finding our own cab on the street. After paying for the taxi, we learned that the taxi service the hotel was using was charging nearly 3 times the average fair.

vacation

Well I must say the my experience was well met , i read the reviews prior to me booking the hotel and to say the least I had a positive experience. The boutique hotel is exactly what you would experience . Its cozy , clean and had no funky smell, The grounds was kept clean at all times The workers made sure they clean every morning. Only thing is that they dont provide wash cloth so bring your own. Daniel who works at that front desk is the only person i came in contact with the speaks English fluently he was very helpful The breakfast was not bad at all.The boutique hotel is very central to the old city about a 10 minute walk. Overall , I would stay at this Boutique hotel again without a doubt.

Excellent first stay, terrible second stay

PUr first sty was amazing! Mostly due to a beautiful property matches by AMAZING STAFF! Thank you Cindy! However our second stay was terrible because they sold our room amd sent us to a mucc lower hotel with no hot water! They did not care to call us ahead of time so we could find a suitable hotel, we arrived tired after a long day of driving the coast only to find out at 6pm that our room had been goven away in the morning due to a fault in the system. Next morning we hd to wake up at 4am to catch a flight ans shpwer in cold water...which is fone if you are camping NOT when you purposely booked a hotel to have comfprt the last night

A lovely boutique hotel in Getsemani

We stayed in the hotel for just one night after coming back from a stay on the island of Baru. The hotel is not in the main Centro district, but well situated in Getsemani which is an interesting part of the old city where the houses are less grand but equally colorful. There is wall art everywhere and little squares with performance art too. You get more value for your money and this boutique hotel was lovely. We had the suite at the front and it was very spacious and well decorated. There is a roof deck with a good view and a pool on the ground floor. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A lovely short stay.

Good for the price

I think for the price paid, the hotel was what you can expect. A few cosmetical issues in the room and hallways, pillows are small and flat. Staff was great!

Great staff at this hotel

Our stay was good. The beds are not very comforatabke., we are used to a softer mattress. Also our room was very noisy, it faced the front street and had just shutters instead of Windows, so nothing blocked out the noise.

Boutique Hotel in Cartagena

Absolutely gorgeous little hotel in the Getsemani neighborhood which was such a welcome relief from the crowded walled city. With the exception of one staff member, the service was outstanding. Great breakfast served daily on the rooftop. Highly recommended!

Awesome experience.

I had a really good time in this hotel, the hotel is cozy, beautiful and very pretty. Personal is so nice, Cindy was awesome at the check in, she help me with some tours to make better and easy my experience un her country. About location, this hotel is perfectly located, every place of interest is walkable, and the zone: Getsemani is very nice, so Cartagines, I was so happy to have chosen this place, breakfast was included in my reservation and was very local, differents options per day, I couldn't be more pleased.

Very pleasant stay and good value

Nice hotel - well located; easy walk (10 minutes) to the old town. The Hotel is clean, tidy and the staff are warm and friendly; very helpful on check-in and check-out and willing and able to provide help and advice on the area. The area is vibrant with lots of places to eat and drink very close by. The service was excellent and the facilities were as we expected; its a boutique hotel not a 5* chain. Breakfast is plain but freshly prepared; and the rooftop is a great place to eat while planning the day ahead, the staff are great as is their service. The pool although small is really refreshing after spending time exploring or soaking up the sun. The Hotel is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport, which cost about $30 peso; and security was not an issue.

It was very private

It was nice clean quiet and in a good location. It was easy to catch a cab to the beach and Plaza La Trinidads was walking distance away.

Stay elsewhere!

Providing quality service is not a priority with the manager of the hotel. I do not recommend anyone stay at this property.
