Great hotel right in the centre of the town. Sophia was a great help at the desk too with getting us reservations and calling us cabs. The hot tub and sauna was by reservation which was nice so you get it all to yourself. And theres a nice cafe and bar across the way from the hotel so you can get a close final drink for the night.

Walking distance to many great restaurants. Great free underground parking. Great central location to explore the island. Staff are fantastic and the breakfast was very nice.

We felt very welcomed upon arrival. We were given a beautiful room that was clean and everything in the kitchenette was working.The room has it's own control for air conditioning etc. in comparison to other hotels that are controlled on a main system that changes over to heat seasonally and if it's still hot, too bad. Every morning my hot drink was left on our breakfast table while I was up getting my food. This started after the first day. Every reception member was kind and helpful. At any moment we needed assistance, they were always there for us. The location is great. It is only a couple of blocks from the ocean, a block to the "main drag" with churches, shopping and restaurants. We appreciated the parking garage. We arrived Saturday but couldn't get a card for the garage until Sunday after other guests checked out so we were a bit stressed that first night as to where to park. We found a free spot on the street about 10 minute walk away. The garage is difficult to navigate but with patience you have a free secure spot right at your hotel. We rented a car for 8 of 9 days in Ponta Delgada but could have had a car for only half the trip as the area is very walkable. You do need a car for the sights but tours offered by the hotels are fine too. The spa room is amazing, having a private hour was ideal. Our only complaint would be the breakfast. Only 2 hot dishes, always scrambled eggs and something else, mostly sausages which we don't eat and the rest was the same daily.

Hotel is ideally located and is great value for the cost. There are lots of dining options in the area and plenty of sightseeing. The staff is super friendly and only too willing to accommodate your needs. Rooms are quite comfortable, modern and clean. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

The property was downtown ponta Delgada and was within walking distance to restaurants, stores, etc. there is a “fitness center” but the work out equipment is antique, there are no wipes or towels or water. The parking is in a garage but is very difficult to get into and out of as it is located on a pedestrian street and is extremely narrow to enter and exit.

We had a terrace room that was spacious and inviting. The kitchenette allowed us flexibility in dining and keeping snacks( read cheeses) cool. Staff was super friendly and although steep and tight the parking garage was a huge bonus.

Great central location, accessible to shopping, restaurants, and sights. Downside is the local bars will keep you up until 2am.

Hotel is well located in the center of Ponta Delgada couple of minutes from city gates. Property is well maintained, has garage (but challenging to get in and out and suitable for small cars). Rooms are good size, some kitchen amenities provided (water, tea, coffee, microwave, bottle opener, glasses, etc). Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is included

Ribeiro Hotel is wonderful

It was a great stay. I was thrilled to have parking. The parking is hard for some drivers. I prob wouldn't stay back in PDL but this hotel was great cause the street is on is lively but the windows stop all noise. Fun spot!

Hotel was very nice and clean. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed all facilities including gym and lounge area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

If i ever go again to Azores, i’d again stay in this hotel Casa Hintze. The staff was excellent.

Beautiful small hotel. Both the Sofia's at the reception desk were so helpful and friendly. Ideal area to walk to everything. The "spa' was great. There was a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which you booked for free so that it was private. Breakfast was included as well. Definitely would stay again and recommend.

Very nice comfortable hotel with a nice private terrace. Driving in Ponte Delgada is challenging and getting in and out of the parking garage here is very difficult even with a very small vehicle. Also the street is blocked half way down, and Google Maps will try and take you up the street the wrong way as it thinks it's one way. You must enter and exit the street from the north for Hintze's parking garage.

We were greeted by friendly staff. Quick check in and helpful recommendations. Nice breakfast. My friend requested an extra blanket which arrived quickly. The hotel and room had modern and fun decorations. I really liked the personalized wallpaper. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent hotel with amazing staff

This is a great hotel in a great location. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and a great shower and bathroom. We did not end up using the pool because our days were action packed and we swam in the ocean and hot springs instead. But it looked great and had a nice sitting area. The continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. Every staff member we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ponta Delgada. We hope to be back one day soon and will look to stay here.

Comfortable and well-located

Beautiful large room with bathroom suite. Very comfortable bed and in-room amenities of fridge and microwave. Appreciated the free on-site parking garage (though missed the road a few times, as it doesn't like it should be possible to drive down!). Unfortunately didn't get time to visit the pool, spa or gym, but the room was wonderful. Breakfast was lacking in vegan options. Perfect location in the middle of town. Very quiet as soon as I closed the window.

This is a lovely urban hotel in a great location with an included parking garage right beside the hotel. You can walk all over the city from here. Great restaurants very close and lots of outside cafes. The whole city is safe and accessible by foot. The hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are good sized and well air conditioned (it was warm our time in August) and the staff is friendly and accommodating. About the only negative thing I can say is that the included breakfast is not up to the standards of many European hotels---but at least as good as most American hotels, meaning that most of the food is prepackaged and not fresh. But, there is a good variety of fruit, yoghurt, cheese and breads/croissants. And, there is tea as well as coffee. I would stay here again!

Good hotel that's located close to the main attractions in the city. Parking is good but hard to access and sort of tight. The free breakfast made us both feel kinda gross. Clean rooms and an amazing staff made up for this though.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Casa Hintze Ribiero. The big pros were the friendly and helpful front desk, great location, unique lobby, and stylish outdoor courtyard/pool. The only con was that the bathroom wasn't completely closed off from the rest of the room.

staff were lovely--always present and willing to help with directions, dining suggestions. Loved the sauna and steam rooms! Centrally located.

Great hotel for first visit to the Azores

This is a great little boutique hotel will any and all amenities you could ask for. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean and the main level is full of character. The bar/coffee shop serves great drinks and a wide selection of coffees and treats. The terrace on the second floor, and the one attached to the room were great as well. Perfect for sitting outside and having Portugese wine. The only criticism I had was the mattresses. They weren't the most comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is centrally located in the old city. Near the 3 arches. Clean, great service, breakfast breads, local cheese, fresh fruit etc. bathroom modern shower stall ok tight area for sink. Overhaul enjoyed our stay.

The location can’t be better; the staff were great, we’ve benefited from an evening with local singer performing fado - very unexpected addition to a lovely stay in the hotel. Unfortunately, the pool was not too clean with pigeons feathers - did not decide to use it. The hotel seem to have some plumbing issues - the water in the shower and in the sink takes a lot of time to drain. But everything is very clean; breakfast very fresh and tasty with local cheese and jams.

Only thing we did not like was the pool area had quite a lot of bird poo around it and bird feathers in the pool, Im sure the hotel will resolve this. Would not let that put us of going there again, the rest of the hotel facilities was very good, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Located very close to main square, restaurants, boutiques, cafes, shops and mini markets. Within walking distance to hop on and hop as well as mini train. Good public transportation nearby. A few minutes away from the Aerobus stop on the main street. Very friendly staff, very good breakfast. Bar/cafe on premises. Pool and wading pool, hot tub and gym. Large room and bedroom with good lighting levels. TV and safe, mini kitchen. Separate toilet, wash basin and shower. Parking next door. Drawback: located on a side street with little or no traffic, a lot of street noise from the restaurants and bars nearby till early in the morning. Even with the windows closed, this was a nuisance. Overall a very good experience. Recommended.

A lovely hotel with great staff in the heart of Ponta Delgada. Walking distance to everything. Very clean, awesome concierge service. Couldn't be happier.

It is hard to find unless you can read Portuguese. It is located on what appears to be a pedestrian street, but it is OK to drive on it to get to the hotel. We were fortunate that a parking space was available in the garage. Better directions and instructions should be provided at the time of reservation. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Location is excellent for walking the city, but with a car, it is easy to get to points of interest in the central and western portions of the island of Sao Miguel. The airport is only 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel if you know where you are going. Room is more than comfortable.

The property was located great for walking to waterfront, marina, dining, shopping etc Sophia and everyone at the front desk were wonderful, very helpful and courteous all the time. Breakfast and coffee were very nice, pool and jacuzzi were also nice. Room was very nice size and the setup worked well for me and my two children. I would stay here again.

Excellent small boutique hotel. Great service. Right in the historic centre, and with parking. No negatives, but the car park does need Houdini to get into and out of it. And the lobby area / bar doesn’t have real food, just very simple snacks, which is a pity.

We rented two rooms for nights in July 2019. All of the staff were fantastic, they provided directions to hiking locations, made dinner reservations for us and were kind and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The water pressure in the showers was fantastic. The morning continental breakfasts were very fresh and provided a good variety of choices. The parking garage was extremely helpful on the narrow streets in Ponta Delgada.

This is a small boutique hotel right in the middle of old town. Rooms are comfortable, yet the barthrooms are half-open which I do not like. Despite this, it is one of the places where everithing is possible. Whatever you ask for, the staff are willing to help. I was espetially amazed with the level of service and kindness offered by Sophia but truth is all other ladies were extremely helpful. I rrcommend the place strongly.

Great location! Bright, clean, newly renovated rooms. Great staff. Continental breakfast was scrambled eggs with mini sausages or bacon, selection of breads, cheeses, deli meats, cereals, yogurt and fruit. The only drawback to the room is that there isn’t a door on the washroom. If privacy is an issue, then this may be of concern. A frosted door to the toilet and next to it, a frosted door to the shower, opens directly to the sink area, which is open to the hallway and living area of the room. The frosted doors weren’t entirely frosted. It was about 4 feet of frost from the bottom to the middle, followed by transparent glass from the middle to the ceiling. No fan in the bathroom.

We had the most wonderful time at Hotel Casa Hintze Ribeiro. All staff were kind, gracious, fun and very helpful. Location is ideal, rooms are pretty darn swell, breakfast is top notch. But nothing beats how welcoming the staff are. They told us the places to see, places to eat, taught us useful phrases and made us feel very comfortable. We will definitely return and recommend this place. Ate logo, eh!

I loved the boutique feel of this hotel. It was off the main road on a beautiful little street still in the heart of everything. The service was excellent and we were lucky to always find parking in their underground lot. Breakfast was always great.

Located on a beautiful little street with restaurants and lots of foot traffic. Their garage is right under the building which was very convenient. All in all, highly recommend!

Super service and super location

Two of my daughters and myself stayed there for three nights. Before we checked in, I already received some emails from the hotel asking whether we need to book car, another email was reminder of cancellation deadline. They are very thoughtful. The location of the hotel is in the middle of the town, everything is within one minute walk.

The hotel was a great concept however basic amenities like An iron was not included. Had to request towels for the third person( family of three) there was a stove in the room that was disconnected and when asked how to use it they said there was an extra charge! The doors to separate the living area from the bedroom didn’t close all the way so we had lack of privacy. The hotels pool was cold and had a pigeon issue and the walls along the entrance were pretty mich crumbling. The positive was the staff, especially the older gentleman was did the late night and moribund shifts. He was very kind! Also the two people who did the breakfast were very kind too. Breakfast was the good part!

In the heart of Ponta Delgada

It was a lovely vacation. The location is so great- right in the middle of the art district with tons of food options and a short walk to everything. There was a little confusion with the rental car that we booked thru the hotel when we got there, car rental was supposed to pick us up at 0700 and we were assured this wouldn’t be a problem. However on our arrival there was no rental car and were told they don’t open until 9 even tho we said we would arrive at 0700. It was sorted out at 0900 at the hotel and despite the inconvenience the hotel staff were very professional and worked to fix it as quickly as possible. The local food recommendations we were given were amazing- take their advice, you won’t regret it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you to your amazing staff!

Great hotel in the center of the city

The location is great for getting around the city as well as a hub for visiting other towns and sights on the island. The staff was very helpful and it was nice to have breakfast each morning. The bar was great to have a coffee or drink in the evenings, and there are several great restaurants within walking distance so you don’t have to get back in the car! And the decor/design is fabulous. Highly recommend!
