The gym was not functional when we were there due to maintenance, despite being shown on the website
Despite booking several months in advance, I received a handicap room which looked nothing like the photos. I asked to change rooms and was told that the hotel was fully booked. This was a vacation and a hotel is an important part of a vacation. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel.
While the bed was clean, the bathroom was sub-par. Breakfast was quite nice and personnel helpful.
Deadens but severel letdowns.
It feels like a letdown when the hotel undergoes large renovation where parking, gym weren’t available and workers start building on the floor above your room at 0715 in the morning. Mostly because this weren’t mentioned or available before arriving. The service was as such very nice and service minded, however we experienced several times the only person in the reception did not understand or speak English even though the hotel I advertised as having English speaking personal. The hotel has a centralized control of its heating. I is set to 18* C. And the personal at the reception can not adjust the temperature, according to the account of the receptionist we spoke to. As a paradox, a flyer in the room advertises the temperature setting at a energy and world saving initiative, however it is not only during the night and when we asked, there solution was to give us a electric heater we could plug in the wall.
Construction around the property detracted from appearance. However, the Hotel inside appeared nice and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Their restaurant was closed. I really wish they would have detailed that prior to us staying. Honestly the breakfast at the hotel was really bad and not worth the 18-20 euros. Rooms are very small
Adequate stay
There is underground parking which was good but it was a bit difficult finding the hotel as there is a one way system in place. Walkable to centre so good location and the room was fine but the whole hotel needs a refresh and modernising and wasn’t as clean as it should be!
Comfortable rooms, good staff but the breakfast could be a bit better, it was OK but we stayed in other French hotels where it was just that little bit better.
good hotel to stay
A very convenient location for the centre of Reims and with the benefit of a good secure car park. Very welcoming staff and a good breakfast
Just ok hotel
Reims weekend
Room OK. Terrible service level by the breakfast staff. Had to ask for missing plates, food, juice, water etc. At 10 sharp they removed all breakfast.
Very good hotel, very close to the city center. Parking garage available, a bit tricky to find. Friendly staff.
Good hotel currently being updated. Secure parking available under the hotel. Good breakfast. Easy walk to the town centre
Very good location, parking available but be sure to book, we were lucky and took the last available space at (14euro night)
We liked this hotel; perfect for a one night stay, good location, lovely clean family room, perfect for our needs. We didn’t realise we needed to book a parking space so bit of a problem with our EV as was hoping to charge overnight. Not too bad as there was free parking (after 7pm and free on a Sunday) so we saved 14 Euros there. Reims was a lovely town with some great parks and busy pedestrian streets bustling with restaurants that had outdoor eating. A nice stay!
Overall very nice hotel but very difficult to communicate if you don't speak french. A very distressing issue happened on the first night as we got locked in our bedroom as the internal door was stuck and we couldn't open it from the inside. It was very difficult to communicate this to the reception via the phone and took a while for help to come. They did not come to fix the problem during our stay either.
The ladirs at the reception were all very helpful and very friendly.
Nice hotel, only negative is the small car parking spaces! Otherwise a lovely stay and made me and my dog very welcome! Would stay again!
Great value excellent hotel
Excellent room size and view of the cathedral. Comfy beds and nice shower.
Great location!!!
Review written from perspective of having a pet. The hotel is situated near a park and is easily accessible to the cathedral and all the main shops. The room was comfortable and for a fee € dogs can stay. Recommend for dog owners.
Campanile Reims Centre is one very few hotels in Reims that offers the best for the area with regards to cleanliness, efficiency, room size, professionalism of staff, economical nightly rates and general hotel standards. The housekeeping team is absolutely amazing- the rooms are very well cleaned and prepared. The front desk staff, supervisors and manager are pleasant, supportive and responsive. My son and I were moving and had to do a number of unexpected hotel night stays and ended up booking this hotel, and extending nights repeatedly because of our overall good experience. Areas of growth for this hotel include- 1. providing a cooler level of air conditioning in the rooms and in the lobby on summer days of extreme heat- priority 2. maintaining the outside of the property- painting, cleaning, mowing the grass.. 3. replacing furniture items that are dated. 4. attending to a sewage smell that emerges in the rooms daily- it goes and comes but emerges daily sometimes multiple times, but goes away soon after...We wondered whether it could be the smell of actual sewage which means that there is a plumbing problem, or perhaps the smell of cleaning products used..but the smell is quite unpleasant. I've taken the time to write this as my son and I are coming to the end of what was unexpectedly long term stay over the past few weeks, experiencing 4 different rooms. We really got to know the hotel and wish the very best for it's growth and prosperity.
The staff was nice and parking was cheap and easy.
Great location. plenty of street parking. Nice rooms
Happy customer
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early and had been upgraded to a larger room. The toilet was very small and cramped and the drain in the shower was blocked so water drained very slowly. We reported this as we were leaving as it wasn’t a major problem. The breakfast was basic, however there was plenty to eat and what was on offer was good quality. The car park was very handy, we were in a Vw transporter van and it was a bit tight but plenty of room for a family saloon. We would stay here again.
Hotel was rather basic restaurant was closed anfd after a 8hr journey l was unable to get meal ans told that the restaurant was unlikely to reopen in the future, the bar was unable to supply me with a few nibbles to go with my drink apart from a small pot of Pretzels. My room was every comfortable and clean.
Excellent location. Staff was helpful.
Great value hotel, a short walk from the centre. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
peut mieux faire
CHAMBRE BRUYANTE DOUCHE QUI FUIT ODEUR DE CANALISATION
Excellent.
Excellent hotel. Very clean, good sized room. Extremely helpful reception staff. Quiet. Good location for city centre. Would recommend.
Easy to locate, quite room, options for parking
Easy to locate, options for parking, nice rooms and within easy walking distance to the centre. Stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the back of the hotel, quiet. Didn’t have chance to use the gym or the restaurant (closed due to Bastille day(I think)). Shop round the corner and bakery.
Good value for money
Clean tidy good value for money breakfast good
Too many stairs
Fine hotel as a base for Reims
Very clean hotel a short walk from the centre of Reims. Staff were very professional and helpful. Parking was available underground or in the street nearby both for extra cost. Breakfast good. Nice park opposite behind the stadium.
Very close to the city. Nice view from the window.
Restaurant was meant to be open 7 days a week but was closed on Sunday without explanation.
Room was OK but parking was expensive and very tricky. Would not recommend parking underground.
Stay in Reims
Good location, friendly service, fair price, it meets all the targets !
.
Great find
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location near the cathedral and restaurants
Close to everything we wanted to do including the Cathedral, restaurants and the train station. The hotel was perfect for our family of 3…great family room layout. We loved the breakfast and the staff was super helpful. Would highly recommend! Tammy Hesterberg
Nice stay
Perfect for what we were after (a pit stop really.) Clean, nice staff. Shower in room 123 could do with a bit of a sort (water coming out predominantly in predominantly in one area)
The hotel was very nice but we could not get the air conditioning to work
The hotel was a nice place but I was disappointed in the lack of dining nearby. It was quite accessible to the main attractions in the area but the area was a bit sketchy after dark.
As other reviewers wrote, the properties are average but the location is almost perfect. Not busy or crowded location but easy to access the central by 15 mins walk. A mini-supermarket is close to the hotel which is also convenient. An A/C was not working and the Breakfast was lower than expectation but ok-ish. Probably we overexpected (because it's a French hotel). The toilet bulb was broken suddenly while staying. We needed to wait in the room for a technician to fix it for an hour but they didn't come at last. I appreciate they proposed another room but we didn't want to spend more time changing a room. Staffs are kind and polite. A fridge was installed in the room. Overall, it was a good balanced hotel and we'll stay there again next time.
My car was damaged inside the hotel garage
I found a large scratch and dent on my car which was parked inside the hotel garage. Despite the fact that the car involved in the incident was still in the garage, the hotel receptionist and the manager did nothing to contact the guest who caused the damage to my car. Appalling behaviour from the hotel management who didn’t even bother to check the cctv footage.
We loved our stay, walking distance to sights and restaurants and the staff was lovely!
Great service
The staff were amazing-they allowed us to check in early and gave us a perfect room. They remembered our special requests and seemed to genuinely care about our stay-i would happily stay again
Great value for money. Easy walk to cathedral area. Secure underground parking
Etape champenoise
Too far for centre ville
The hotel is not in centre ville! Nothing arround, some of the staff are great, nice and help, others not friendly at all. If you miss breakfast, that is not great at the hotel, need to go to centre ville, 15 min walk, to see if you find something open, same for dinner. No public transportation close by and taxis, you will be lucky if the arrive in less than 15 min
Lovely hotel with lovely staff, thank you
Took a room for 3 and both beds (double and single) were extremely comfortable, and gave a bit of privacy. Very clean and close to everything within walking distance.
Very friendly staff who spoke English
Beds are very comfortable. The bathroom could use a little freshening like caulking around the shower and there’s a disagreeable smell coming from the pipes.
We stayed at Campanile Reims because it was reasonably priced, within walking distance of the champagne houses and central eating areas, and it has a great little gym. We also thought the breakfast was good.
Not so good experience
Firts room that was given to us was tiny, claustrophobic with small double wedged in with a very strong odour of sewage coming from the toilet. ( The hotel is advertising standard room size 21m2, our was less than that). When we ask in reception for a new room and we have been given an old fassion decor room with worn furniture and not so comfy bed. We have decided to have a drink at the hotel bar..another disappointment as my drink was served in cracked glass and no ice was offered. Overall a very disappointing expirience as we have stayed previously in Campanile brand and have always pleasurable stay.
Helpful staff
Very comfortable, clean rooms. Underground car parking is a bonus, and the hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the cathedral. Breakfast was excellent.
Good rooms except air conditioning basically useless.
Very comfortable hotel, especially the pillows . Good value breakfast and lots of variety. Good location not far to walk to cathedral/ town centre
X
Clean, friendly staff, good service, underground parking. Walkable to centre of Reims.
Great place, location, just be aware no kettle
great place and location, room was lovely the only thing was the staff couldnt find a remote that worked for the TV and I wanted some hot water as no kettle in the room but you have to pay for it... which was really odd.
Stayed for one night whilst travelling. Room was comfortable and clean, and they allowed our pet to stay. Check-in and check-out was very quick and easy.
Arrived at 6pm , told no places for dinner til 9pm , went to the bar for a quick drink to wait for a table at 8pm and told no more places for food that night so had to walk to a nearby takeaway for food surrounded by drunks and drug users , staff not very helpful and the restaurant was half empty at 8pm 👎👎
A disappointment..
We stayed in Reims on route to Switzerland, we found the pillows a bit hard an there was a distinct smell from the drains either from the shower tray or sink trap which hit you as soon as we walked in Good secure parking for our motorcycles tho, , would not stay again.
The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Main sight seeing areas are easily accessible.
The hotel had a lot of options. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Good location.
The only improvement I would suggest is to be able to change the air conditioning setting in the rooms. We opened the window to cool the room down if it was nice outside. But if it was warm outside, or during the night - the window was closed, and we were a little warm. Otherwise, we really liked the room and the location of the hotel. We will recommend to friends and family. Thank you!
Good stay, close to the centre
Decent hotel, comfortable and with a good sized room. There was dust on the bedside light fittings and the tv didn't work (no signal received). The room was quiet and the shower was a good size. Breakfast was busy, some guests couldn't find tables, but a good selection to choose from. One positive point to note, the secure, underground garage had a dedicated motobike space and the fee was half that of cars. More hotels should do this! The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Central to the river and cathedral with easy access to the highway. The hotel is within easy walking distance from all areas of interest and needs.
Basic accommodation
The hotel is a little shabby but in the process of being refurbished. The room was freezing and we were told that the heating was restricted due to rules imposed by the Government, which seemed unlikely. Staff were friendly and helpful although the lowered desk for disabled visitors had been used as a display table for Champagne. The restaurant was basic with music playing and a muted film playing on a TV in the corner, nothing seemed to be freshly cooked although it wasnt expensive. The hotel is very conveniently situated for the motorway and a short walk for the impressive Notre Dame Cathedral and town centre shopping but so too is The Mercure right next door. This was our second stay here but not sure we would stay again.
Outstanding. We stayed six nights while moving our daughter to her new apartment in Reims. We thought that the low price would mean some sacrifices to comfort but that is not at all the case. The rooms are large and clean with all the amenities. The staff is friendly, professional and eager to help with any questions. There is a cute lounge for drinks at night and a full breakfast in the morning. Parking was secure underground. We were extremely pleased with this hotel and will absolutely stay here again.
A very cold bedroom
The hotel bedroom was very cold and could not be adjusted in the bedroom as the temperature was set at 19c by the hotel. It felt much colder than that (it was December). The hotel gave us an extra quilt and blanket which was fine for sleeping, but was uncomfortable walking around particularly after a shower. The rest of the hotel was good including breakfast and evening meal
Everything was good about this property except the Wi-Fi. They desperately need to improve the Wi-Fi as I ran an event that needed Wi-Fi and was shut out for half the day. This did tremendous damage to my event. The staff are excellent and very accommodating.
Clean, nice and convenient.
The photos on the website were obviously posted when the property was new or had been renovated. The property was well past it's sell buy date and was looking old and tired. Fixtures and fittings were of a poor quality and looking there age. I tried to order a beer mid afternoon and was told that they had run out of glasses due to a noisy function taking place, not what you would expect from a so called 3 x hotel.
Great location and facilities
Gaelle was most friendly, the hotel was central and had everything we needed
Restaurant was terrible took 45 to place an order and only got it because we had to complain despite if just being open several items were not available from a very limited menu. Decided not to go for breakfast and asked for a refund was told yes next morning they argued with us. No where else to eat within blocks of the hotel. Not a great location for seniors
A few days in Reims
Rooms were comfortable, a little tired and worn but serviceable and clean.
Comfortable overnight stay. Good sized family room
Car parking is not very convenient, and it would be nice if the front-desk staff was a bit more friendly
Excellent value for money for a one night stay on the way to the south of France. Our family room was spacious, clean and in really good condition and only 15 mins walk to the cathedral. Lots of space for a family of 3 and good to have the single bed around the corner foe the double to help little people actually go to sleep! Parking for €14 and a most surprising breakfast included. Hot and cold food and lots of it. Overall a brilliant pit stop and I would use again.
Good location, walking distance from Reims city center. The hotel was what I expected for a 3 star property, and well maintained. Breakfast was ok. Pro: super air conditioning and sound proof windows. Cons: expensive parking and difficult to find outside. I would return.
Would never stay anywhere else in Reims
The hotel seems brand new in every way. We had a very comfortable queen bed even though they called it a double. Large room with everything you'd want or need (although they don't provide Kleenex, which I thought strange). Very nice large shower and bathroom. Great air-conditioning. The main floor lounge, restaurant and outside lounging area are wonderful. Short walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral and the bristling main Street. What really made the place so much fun and enjoyable were both the day and evening front desk ladies, Gaelle and Joelle. They went out of their way whenever we asked for anything, storing our luggage before check-in and after check-out, getting ice for us and always very happy to make sure we had anything we needed to enjoy the place. I can't say enough to the hotel how much of an asset they are. Don't hesitate to book here, great place in a quiet location with a parking garage if you need one and elevators.
Pleasant
Nice hotel in a great location but looking a bit tired and could do with a renovation.
Close proximity to the city centre, underground car park, comfortable room, and nice restaurant on the ground floor. It is overall a great pleasant stay. It is also very close to main roads that take us out of the city to neighbouring vignobles and regions, including Epernay, which is around half an hour away.
Hotel is just adequate, nothing special about it. The room was clean, but lacked minimal comforts usually provided by hotels - additional toiletries, tissue paper, bottles of water. The cups were papercups as opposed to nice glassware you generally see in hotels. In addition, the hotel is obviously in need of improvements. The building needs fresh paint, the front glass door is cracked, and the lift for handicapped guests or people with heavy luggage is dirty with cobwebs in the corner. Breakfast was just adequate. Staff did their job but in an uninterested way. I don't believe I'd stay at this hotel if I ever return to Reims.
Super comfortable beds. “Sound proof rooms” were definitely sound proof! Very quiet sleep! Nice hot shower. Close walk to the cathedral. Staff was super friendly.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Tidy and spacious room.
Nice location
We enjoyed our stay in Reims and the hotel is walking distance to many interested places.
Great for my family
The hotel was very accommodating for my family. We had a family room which had a queen bed and two twin beds. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The fitness facility was super. Having breakfast at the hotel the next morning was easy, and the food was great. We would definitely stay here again.
Just what we were looking for and dog friendly.
Un accueil tres efficace et sympa. Une explication tres claire sur le fonctionnement de l hotel et tout le monde tres agreable. l hotel est bien situe et les chambres tres confortables et calmes
Walking distance to Cathedral
We had a great stay at the Campanile. It’s a very close walk to the city center and cathedral, as well as several champagne houses. It’s been recently updated inside and is really nice. The gym was a nice surprise too!
