Very unique property very special city in the old town hard to find, the staff was great very accommodating Great Breakfast, had great time in short stay

Great Location for station

Great location (not sure if you arrive by car?). The hotel looks quite new but not equipped to high standard, our room had a leaking shower, stains on carpet, broken table leg and holes in wall which had been roughly filled. Maybe it’s a party hotel? The rooms are soundproofed from corridor but not each other. We heard a dog barking for an hour, and could hear people above us. Some staff were friendly and spoke a little English, but some only speak French, I was able to communicate but if you don’t speak French it could be a problem? I can’t put my hand on my heart and recommend, not sure how it got such good score on hotels.com.

Nice design, nice rooms but limited lighting in the duplex room (I know design principles quite well and the lighting while mood focused was just poor in the room). Carpets were stained pretty good also. However, staff were nice and helpful, bed very comfortable and a convenient location. From the outside looking in, I would have considered a slightly better interior

Literally steps from the train station. Great location within walking distance to Place de Comedie, shopping and restaurants. The room was spacious with a comfy bed and big bathroom. Will stay there again for sure

Location of the property is in an excellent walking reach to the main town square and other excursions. Eat out options were brilliant. Hotel staff was very helpful and approachable. Hotel rooms were in an excellent condition with very comfortable mattresses and pillows.

Convenient and modern location.

Very modern and convenient location right next to the train station. Clean and modern with all the amenities. Rooms were very comfortable except that the pullout couch for our daughter had a bar in the middle horizontal that made it uncomfortable sleeping normally (she had to sleep sideways).

Perfect location close to the train station!

Our A/C did not work. We paid for an extra large suite to accommodate our family of four. The hotel made us pay for two standard rooms in order to address the A/C issue. We were happy the hotel found us rooms with working A/C, but this should have been free of charge. The rooms were not clean - showers needed a scrub, stains on bed linen.

No cold fridge

Pleasant hotel in good location. However it was unacceptable to have no working fridge in the room. There was a fridge but hotel policy dictated that it was not to be cold. Never encountered that before. It is like having a shower that has no water ! Also no green tea available.

I reserved a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, I receive the smaller room probably in the hotel, and the sofa cama don’t have sheets and a blanket.

Overall a quiet mixed feeling about this hotel ; when i check in was charged with two night of parking and i was staying one; the breakfast is not that great , but overall nice location close to the railway station , and in the center of the city.

Mixed impressions

I arrived around 11pm and waited for a long time till some showed up to open the door and do the check in. Also, I wasn’t offered any upgrade as a platinum member guest :/ The room was very clean, good choice of pillows. However, altogether it was a good value for money.

Close to Train

Decent hotel, inconsistent quality of staff. Mostly not happy to help or even greet you. Instant coffee only in the rooms and they don’t replenish. I goofed on my check in date which I made at 8pm the night before arriving. Ended up arriving a day late. Asked for a credit and they refused stating their policy. I was still staying an additional 3 night also! After asking for the manager I received a voucher for 2 drinks. I’m already a Gold and would expect that anyway. On a positive note, the hotel is literally across the street from the SNCF station. Very convenient and a 5 minute walk to Comedie Square and even closer to the tram. The are is ok but probably not good to walk late at night.

Convenient location but could be better equipped

The hotel looked nice and clean and it was convenient to the train station and downtown. We did have some strange issues…we had no bottom sheets on either bed, and when we asked for sheets they had to come up and look at the beds and still didn’t understand why we didn’t want to sleep on ripped plastic mattress covers. We asked for pillows and they said there were no ore pillows available at the hotel. The room had an upstairs loft which the air conditioning didn’t touch. The downstairs was cool and comfortable but the upstairs was stifling.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Notably, the front desk staff were very friendly, warm, and helpful.

Climate control in the rooms was not functioning. Rooms were much too warm. I was told to "open the window," and staff were not very helpful. Refrigerator in rooms also does not work--I was told I could keep my food in a refrigerator on the main floor if I wanted to...

Nice hotel but no real AC

The hotel is very coveniently located, the staff is great overall. However they do not have AC, they have central building heating or air push, which means that the whole building is heating at once. If you're unlucky and get there at a time of the year where the heater is on and it's actually warm outside, it will be extremely hot in your room even if you turn the ac off, as the rest of the building is heating up. So, prepare for sleepless nights, sweating like never...

Place was clean and comfortable. However some of the staff are unfortunately rude and not careful with words when answering concerns.

Monpellier weekend.

In general, it was a comfortable stay. We found the room a little tight, but comfortable and modern. Standard of cleanliness was more than adequate for a big hotel. Reception staff were friendly and multilingual. Carparks were set up and spaced for big cars which was nice. Location was an issue, tight streets and alot of blocked throughfare, due to constant upgrades to the road and tram system. Made a bit of a nightmare to return to the hotel after an excursion (partially fault of google maps!) Only real issue was the sink in the bathroom was partially blocked and water drained very slowly and was left unsightly. The cleaner prior to our stay, should have really mentioned it to services that the room had a malfunctioning sink not left to us to deal with it during our stay. But that was the only gripe.

The property is a 15 minute walk to the city Center. The property has a gym but it should not be a gym very poor. One bike, one trendmill and small bags of rice as weights up to 6kg. The bike and trendmill is made of wood. Breakfast was good.

The staff of the hotel were lovely, and helpful, and good-humoured. We arrived exceptionally tired after traveling all night - they looked after us from the moment we checked in to the moment we departed.

Better than advertised!

We stayed in several different hotels during our recent extended vacation in southern France. We loved this hotel! It was as advertised, except better - only pleasant surprises! Each one of the staff we encountered was very accommodating and personable. It was ideally located so that we were able to explore the historic parts of Montpellier we had hoped to see, enjoy amazing restaurants, and discover interesting shops. The hotel also put us close to Sete, a location we wanted to explore. We used the train to travel through southern France, so the location of this hotel really worked for us. We were surprised how quiet our room was despite being next to the train station. Seriously! We appreciated the numerous eco-friendly touches throughout the hotel. Even the décor gives an eco-friendly vibe. We had a junior suite which was comfortable, spacious, and contemporary. Loved the bar/dining area, and the breakfasts were wonderful - lots of yummy and healthy options! A silly thing but important for me - they have the best hair dryer I've encountered in a hotel!!

Started with Antoine at the front desk. Very amiable and made us feel special at check-in. All of the front staff were of this mode and it must start at the top with Antoine, the manager. I can't say enough good things about the hotel and staff.

Bad wifi

Extremely bad wifi for a 4 star hotel, ~3Mbps which isn’t sufficient for video calls etc … That’s ~100x slower than residential fiber

Relaxing, comfortable and clean

Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was gorgeous, cosy and clean. Even though the hotel is right beside the train station there was no noise. Very relaxing and comfortable stay!

The hotel staff was very kind and welcoming. The only caveat was that the parking entrance which is located on the right side of the hotel entrance, was not obvious and we had trouble finding it. Montpellier is one of my favorite town but driving down town is a challenge.

Good overall

Could be exceptional...

The hotel itself is beautifully designed but for something that was meant to be 4 star it fell short. The room was small, and it had only a bathtub no shower. The terrace was nice and the bed was comfortable but it was two singles pushed together rather than a true king. The detail for cleanliness could improve also, there was some sort of food or something smushed into the bed skirt, staines sheets and a hand towel, and a very visible accumulation of dust behind the sliding bathroom door and on the ac intake grates. Also the air conditioner wasn’t functioning well. We recognize that travel during these Covid times is difficult and the hotel was likely running with reduced staff. So we would be willing to give this property another try. With a little extra attention to detail it could be exceptional. On the plus side, the staff were wonderful, very accommodating and went out of the way to provide exceptional service.

Great hotel directly next to the train station

Everything was perfect about the hotel with the exception of the fact that it is really hard to find. Both us and another couple at the reception had made at least 5 circles around the blocks. Problem: Google shows you the building where it is, but there is no car access (all one-way or entrance prohibited) and on the sides of the house accessible by car there is only a big sign for the "Campanile" hotel in the same building. But nothing about Golden Tulip. Please change this so people arriving by car can find your great establishment.

Pros: - modern look - clean - somewhat eco-friendly Cons: - the "1 king size" bed is actually 2 single beds stuck together and isn't a king size - the telephone in the room did not work and was not fixed when flagged to staff - no cards or information in room for room service - the hairdryer didn't work at all - rude staff when flagging these issues as I checked out, and no compensation offered for disfunctional & falsely advertised (re: bed size) room Overall, I wasn't satisfied with the stay considering some of the basics I expect from a hotel like this were not adequate. I'd likely try again on another visit, as the cleanliness was quite good at the very least, and perhaps this was just bad luck that fell on my stay.

Fabulous hotel! Wonderful textures and materials used throughout. Great room layout. Hotel walking distance to train and must see sights! Hotel bar and restaurant were superb...great service and food.

Hotel is brand new and everything still looks perfect. Good breakfast. Like the furniture and the way employees are dressed. Location opposite train station is practical.

Wonderful hotel

Great location, next to the train station and a short walk to the centre. Hotel is new and still some building works going on, but not inconvenienced. I am coeliac and hadn't realised until the last few days that the hotel could cater for this. Full marks for an excellent breakfast.

The hotel is across the road from the station and about a 10 min walk to the old town, which makes it very convenient. It's beautifully designed, and the rooms are very comfortable with great facilities. Breakfast is a little high-concept, but the food was good and plentiful and the coffee was great. The outdoor terrace was lovely for a warm weekend, but it would be even better if it was a non-smoking area. The wifi, however, is shockingly poor for a new hotel. It's a bit better in the public areas than in the rooms but even when available is very slow.

This is a very modern hotel with well finished rooms - and very comfortable. It is a little characterless and some of the “clever” lighting was tricky to control at first, but everything was very functional ultimately. It is very convenient for the station and the city centre is a short walk.

Brand new property next to train station. Some of the hotel was still under construction- but open areas were lovely. Staff were incredible.

The staff were faultless but the hotel is new and is still under construction. We experienced technical issues like the wifi wasn't working, our room A/C failed. The construction in and around the hotel was a factor as well. This will doubtless be a nice hotel when it's completed and in a good location. Some design decisions in the rooms are a little questionable but generally it's being done to a high standard. However they should not have opened this hotel without being more prepared -- regardless of whether they were operating at a discount.

Great place with need of little adjustments

As always Golden Tulip knows how to brighten forgotten areas. Safe heaven two minutes away from the train station. Opened recently, some adjustments will hopefully find their way, the breakfast is over complicated for a simple buffet. The wifi will find a provider and some local newspapers would be appreciated. Nevertheless Golden Tulip remains a really comfortable place.

Bonne chambre , bonne organisation avec le parking de la gare à 200 mètres. Moquette de la chambre super sale qui donne envie de vomir. Sinon le reste est propre. Deuxième problème devoir se lever à 10h un 1er janvier alors qu’on paye la chambre 200e ce n’est pas normal et cela est existe qu’en France. Faire libérer la chambre à 12h minimum.

Hotel bem em frente a estação de trem. Agradável, bonito, chuveiro muito bom, cama boa. Garrafas de água grátis todos os dias. Apenas não pegamos o restaurante aberto . Rapaz do bar muito solicito .

Best solution near the station

The best hotel ever near the station. Incredible pricing for the quality. It is a new building and there is a co-working area, with a nice terrace as well. The room was clean, spacious, and modern.

Alles in orde. Modern hotel, juist tegenover ´gare centrale´.Geen geluid van buiten. Goede bedden! Aangename sfeer in ontbijt ruimte. Lekker uitgebreid ontbijt. Vriendelijk personeel! 10 minuten van centrum ´place comédie’ wandelen.

The lady that checked me in was very friendly - she gave me a room with a balcony which was very nice. The only problem was that there were no towels in the room, they must have forgotten to put them there.

L’hôtel est agréable si l’on excepte les travaux à l’intérieur et le matériel au milieu sur les différents accès aux chambres et au bar. L’environnement n’est pas très agréable mais à une dizaine de minutes de marche on se retrouve dans le centre-ville. Le point négatif est une odeur très désagréable des draps (étrangement juste d’un côté du lit). Sinon le personnel est charmant à l’accueil comme au bar et au restaurant. Le petit-déjeuner est très bien ! Beaucoup de choix et des produits excellents.

Stylisch und gut gelegen

Zentral am Hauptbahnhof aber leise. Gut gelegen für Sightseeing in Montpellier. Parken etwas umständlich im öffentlichen Parkhaus kosten 19€/Tag - aber bewacht. Zimmer schön und modern. Wellness wurde nicht in Anspruch genommen.

Très bien a part qu’il n’y a pas de séparation entre les balcons ce qui limite l’intimité de chaque chambre.

Bel hôtel mais service à revoir

Il s'agit d'un hôtel très instagrammable: belle déco, beaux espaces, agencement agréable, et emplacement très central dans Montpellier. Mais le service est très en-dessous des standards attendus dans un 4 étoiles: accueil froid, l'hôte/sse ne vous regarde même pas. J'ai dû demander plusieurs fois la même chose avant d'obtenir ma demande. Pire, au petit-déjeuner le buffet n'est pas réassorti (tasses, oeufs, pain), le barista se sert des cafés, les boissons chaudes sont proposées dans des gobelets en carton. Le pain proposé est de la baguette blanche décongelée minute, au lieu de servir des gros pains frais et croustillants ou de la baguette tradition comme on sait si bien la faire en France. Il manque aussi une vraie machine à café expresso dans les chambres comme le font bon nombre d'hôtels de ce standing aujourd'hui. Bref la base est chouette et bien là, mais des progrès à faire dans le service.

Bel hôtel à Montpellier

Séjour d'une nuit. Hôtel confortable, chambre spacieuse. Salle fitness bien équipée et propre. Petit-déjeuner bon et copieux. Accueil agréable et professionnel. Hôtel en face la gare, très pratique.

Ett hotell med höga ambitioner, men det håller inte riktigt. Svårt att ta sig till hotellet med bil, när vi väl hittat fram var det stängt med bommar och en av oss fick springa in och hämta en kod för att kunna ens packa ur. Den koden hade vi kunnat få redan vid bokning. Kvarteret runt hotellet är väldigt nergånget och känns otrygg. Vi fick bara en nyckel till rummet så det blev besvärligt då nyckeln behövdes till både elektriciteten på rummet och i hissen. Badrock var väldigt urtvättad och tvålarna var inte påfyllda. Rummet i sig var dock väldigt fint, fräscht och rent. Lite trångt med vårt barns rullstol men det fungerade. Sängen var bekväm och bäddsoffan stor och bra. Frukost helt okej, bra terass att sitta på och vi kunde ha med vår hund.

Séjour d’une nuit gâchée

Notre séjour aurait pu très bien se dérouler, malheureusement le service n’a vraiment pas été à la hauteur. Nous avons signalé dès notre départ et remise des clés, un objet de valeur laissé dans la chambre pour le récupérer, malgré nos tentatives d’échange pour récupérer le bien en en signalant la valeur d’autant plus sentimentale. Nous n’avons aucun retour plusieurs jours après, les personnes ne se font pas passer le message et tout le monde rejette le truc. Le responsable n’est pas mise au courant. Sauf à vouloir procéder de la sorte volontairement, il y’a au mieux une grande incompétence. Je déconseille l’établissement

Fint hotel

Meget fint hotel med SUPER fin beliggenhed. Gåafstand til det hele og få hundrede meter til offentlig transport. Søde og hjælpsomme personale i receptionen. Dejligt at kunne sidde ude på terrassen og spise morgenmad Værelset vi havde til 2 børn + 2 voksne er meget små.

Bel hôtel, bon accueil, suite spacieuse et bien décoré. Point négatif: beaucoup de taches sur la moquette et sur le canapé.

Séjour affaire

Alors très bel établissement mais avec des points d'amélioration. Tout d'abord il serait bon d'envoyer un message aux clients pour le dire qu'il vaut mieux réserver le parking si ils souhaitent avoir une place. Ensuite, au check in et au check out aux heures de pointes, il serait bien d'avoir deux personnes et non une surtout vu le nombre de chambres. Il est désagréable d'attendre 15 minutes pour ces opérations. Attention à l'état des moquettes. Dans ma chambre il y avait de grosses taches noires peu ragoutantes ce qui d'entrée ne donne pas une image de propreté alors même que le ménage était parfaitement fait. Deux télés c'est très bien mais réseau très limite qui fait que les images sautent comme si cela manquait de débit. En bref un très bel hôtel, rien de rédhibitoire mais clairement trop de détails qui donnent une image générale décevante.

Très bel hôtel design à l'excellent rapport qualité prix. Les chambres sont très spacieuses et très bien équipées. Les services proposés dans l'hôtel sont super et le restaurant adjacent propose une cuisine fine dans un cadre très agréable. Je reviendrai.

Beaucoup trop de service en supplément

Hôtel propre mais offre non conforme. Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 3 mais tout était prévu pour deux. Nous avons du sans cesse repayé des services que nous pensions inclus dans la réservation. Le hammam avait un problème technique ( il sentait l’urine) mais nous avons tout de même du payer l’intégralité de notre accès au spa alors que nous avons uniquement pu aller dans le sauna. Bref assez de déçu vu le prix de la chambre.

Très déçu

J'avais l'habitude d'aller dans cet hôtel à chacun de mes passages à Montpellier. Mais là, je suis déçu. Sous prétexte que nous sommes en période de fêtes, il y a un manque évident de personnelle et les services sont nettement dégradés, les prix restent pourtant les mêmes. Pas de restauration, service assuré par des jeunes sans expérience ni motivation. Très très déçu... Je pense opter pour un autre établissement la prochaine fois.
