Had a lovely stay. Reception saw I was disappointed the rooftop bar was closed so gave us two complimentary drinks to have at a sister hotel. We went to hotel 1898 for the drinks and it was lovely. Bwrg pleased with our room. The hotel is lovely. Bed very comfortable. No plug for the bath but I dare say this would have been sorted if I’d have asked for one. We were able to leave our baggage securely with concierge. Highly recommend

Great hotel at reasonable price

Very clean and efficient and we paid a very reasonable price. Location is good right by Las Ramblas and metro station outside.

Dirty hotel room and unsafe place

The hotel is at the ultimate spot for transportation. The train station is right outside the hotel's front door and it could not get more convenient than that! It is also very close to the port, Las Ramblas, Gothic Quarter and other sites! The breakfast took us by surprise because based on our previous stays in different countries in Europe, we did not expect the buffet to have so many options and the food was delightful! On our first night, there was loud commotion on our floor and we are not sure what exactly happened since we do not speak Spanish well, but eventually the police arrived to settle the situation. It would've been great if the situation was taken care of a bit quicker since it felt like it went on for at least 30 minutes, but these types of things can't quite be predicted so it's understandable. Overall, a great hotel at a great location!

Hotel located right in the heart of the city...easy access to most tourist sites. Staff wete friendly and rooms were very clean and daily cleaning maintained. Definitely a place ill come again.

We have stayed at this property previously, and the room was awesome, with plenty of room, very quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, this time the room we had (on the same floor but in different area) was not good. We heard every noise from neighboring rooms at all hours of the night so that was disappointing and disruptive, but it won't stop us from staying there again in the future if the opportunity arises.

Room was in low floor. There was no hot water in the evening.

Great hotel, run by people who are passionate about treating their guests the right way! Great at answering all your questions and concerns. The only negative has nothing to do with the hotel but just the location. Close to transit but very sketchy at night.

This was a very nice hotel. I’m glad I chose to stay at Hotel Barcelona. Walking distance to La Rambla so convenient and not noisy. Hotel furnishings were updated and clean. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Barcelona.

Great locstion, excellent service. Bathroom was a little tired (cracked cistern), wardrobe door and bathroom door also damaged. Surrounding area has great selection of restaurants. Crime in area though. Saw two incidents of theft; one in a supermarket, another where someone attempted to rob a person of their bags in the street. Made us wary to leave hotel in the evening. Public transport excellent, adjacent to parral-lel station. Again, lots of beggars at the station though, some aggressive and moved on by staff.

Leisure trip with my daughter and we had a wonderful stay. The rooftop pool and bar are superb to sit around as the sun goes down. Excellent breakfast choice and the staff are incredibly helpful. Close to lots of great places to eat and easy to get on the Metro. Thoroughly recommended

The hotel is right next to a metro stop and walking distance to the old part of Barcelona. Our room looked onto the street though and because of the metro stop, it was fairly noisy with people walking past.

Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Location is great, and the room layout we got was perfect for a couple with a teen in a separate area.

Place needs updating, especially the roof top terrace. However, the staff were super nice and the food was great.

The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area. The room is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. They had a variety of items. It's walking distance to mostly major attractions like Las Ramblas, Barcelonetta, Museums, and a little farther away, Sagrada Familia.

This was a nice hotel in a convenient area, right by the metro. Plenty of dining options nearby, and walking distance to most sites around the city.

Good Hotel, Good Location.

The hotel has great city location with a short walk getting you to many restaurants, bars and Las Ramblas. We primarily used the hotel, not because we had stayed before, but this time for its location to The Apolo music venue over the road. The hotel was clean, comfortable and seemed to be well maintained. The staff for check in and departure very efficient and friendly and approachable throughout the duration of our stay. The only downside was the noise for us. The machinery for the lifts seemed to be on the other side of the bathroom wall and when the lift was in use it was noticeable in the room. So come 5 am when the lifts started to be used more frequently it woke us up even with the bathroom door closed. That said, we’d stay there again but knowledgeable in what room to avoid!!

The hotel is well located and clean. Staff is excellent but surrounding street noise makes it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Did not like the housekeeping staff making excessive noise in the hallway when cleaning rooms. Sign posted on door that I wanted to not be disturbed & rest and they yelled down hall and slammed doors for extended period of time each day. Coffee machine in lobby nice.

Comfortable stay.

A lovely stay. Nice room - we were upgraded to superior room without asking, which was nice. The check in was quick and easy as we'd done most of the paperwork prior to arrival online. Roof top has lovely views across the city. Didn't have breakfast so unable to comment on that.

Great experience to stay at this property. The location is excellent. Most of the avenue, places of interest and famous Le Ramlas is on walking distance. Room size is good, breakfast is also good. Overall very satisfied

Great hotel near the metro in Barcelona. The breakfast was amazing. Area felt safe and was easily walkable also.

There were a few issues in the restaurant and it took sone hkurs to fix the air conditioning on our floor. The hotel was modern, clean and the staff generally helpful.

Hotel needs some TLC. Front desk Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious but bathroom a little tight. Also had some issues with lack of hot water in the bathroom sink but only in the mornings.

Had a great stay, the staff were all very helpful, Breakfast had good choices. Enjoyed the roof top pool and bar for some relaxing time after a day exploring the city.

Did not enjoy our stay. We picked this spot because it was close to the cruise ship port. Area is very scary. Our one guide gave us an alternate route to get back to our hotel because we’d likely get mugged going back. Would not recommend. We arrived at the hotel and half the lights in our room didn’t work. We called the front desk and a technician came quickly. For 30 minutes he worked at trying to fix it. Front desk came up when we asked for a new room. Guest reception told us they could give us a new room, but they wouldn’t know when. We’d have to wait in the lobby until something became available - not cool. The technician ended up fixing them and we had no further issues. Otherwise the room was ok, but the bathroom was so so dated and the shower felt like it was falling apart. If you’re a light sleeper don’t stay here it’s incredibly noisy. After a red eye flight you don’t want to deal with the issues this hotel had.

My family had a very nice stay. The hotel staff was extra helpful and we had a very nice and clean room. The pool and bar area were so much fun. It was also in such a great location, easy access to transportation and walking distance from a lot of attractions. We felt very safe and like we do with any place we visit even when we are traveling around our own city, we keep our belongings secure. Barcelona is quite beautiful and we had such a wonderful experience and not one unfavorable thing to write about.

This hotel was walking distance to the gothic quarter. Perfect location with subway right on the corner. Our room was spacious and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a pleasant stay at this property. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I was satisfied with the amenities offered and the hotel is easily accessible by public transport, with a metro entrance right outside the front doors. I think the rooms could probably do with a refurbishment but they were not unpleasant.

it was good overall but I was surprised at 8:30ish am 2 guys wearing black the opened my room and when I follow them they said sorry and left right away!! I told the front desk about it I didn't know what they did until now they told me they will check who opens because it shows in their system!! what if I wasn't there what those guys will do Steal me !!! so please make sure to hide your things otherwise there is a chance it will be gone

Hotel was beautiful with an incredible restaurant on the second floor. Staff always went above and beyond! The four cheese pizza from the shop across the street was AMAZING! Everything was walking distance and so nice. The 5am disco parties at the apollo need to chill a smidgen on a Tuesday. I was 7 floors up.

La primera impresión al llegar al hotel es que no parece de 4 ✨✨✨✨ el lobby se ve un poco descuidado, al hacer el checking no nos information sobre el desayuno, al llamar a la recepción y preguntar sobre las opciones de comida no nos dijeron que había opción de cena buffet pero con 24 hrs de antelación. Estuvimos por 5 noches se podía oír el ruido exterior al hotel y el de el pasillo , a pesar que nos dieron un upgrade . El rooftop cierra temprano antes de las 10 de la noche. La limpieza de la habitación es excelente. Pedimos hielo y nos fue entregado rápidamente. Algunos del personal de recepción no muy amables. Transportación de taxis afuera del hotel al igual que estación de metro a pocos pasos. Accesibilidad al centro de la ciudad es caminante pero hay que tener cuidado porque el vecindario detrás del hotel no es seguro.

We had booked this hotel specifically because it had a rooftop pool. When we got there it was under repair and we were therefore unable to use it. It was very disappointing that we were not informed about this before we arrived. It made a big difference to our enjoyment of our stay.

Very accommodating. Good location, metro is located right in front of the hotel. Also has a 24hr Convience store two doors down. Staff is very friendly and overall had a great experience.

This property was in a great location - about 1/2 mile from the pier; and less than that to the Gothic Quarters. Everything was in walking distance and even though it was about a 1 1/2 miles to some of the Gaudi houses, it was beautiful and easy. The best amenity of this hotel was the magnificent rooftop bar where the pool and a lot of seating was available. It was one of the most amazing views from anywhere in the City. My wife and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Barcelona. If we go back, we definitely will stay there again!

Although we had double glazed windows we could still hear the noise of the city as if the windows were open. Otherwise all at the hotel was excellent

Only negative was the walls were paper thin and we could hear loud music and phone going off in other rooms. Otherwise a lovely hotel and would definitely go back.

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was great...could walk to tons of places to eat & visit.

Convenient for biking and walking to the areas we wanted to see. I’d recommend doing one of the bike rentals on the street to get around to the beach etc.
