No Ferry’s to Martinique on Sundays
Had a Sunday check in. The island is only available by boat . No ferry’s on Sunday. Hotel could’ve let me know. Was charged for a room I was unable to access .
The adult section of the property was very nice. I do wish there was staff that spoke a little more English it was sometimes difficult to understand. Although o used a translator i was still able to communicate. Staff was friendly and very attentive.
We enjoyed our stay from day 1. We felt welcomed. The food had many options. The buffet changed every dinner. A big shoutout to the staff, they made the difference. From the staff at the restaurants, René at the bar, Léa the hotel concierge People in charge of the chairs, towels, waiters and waitresses, we don't have all your names but thank you. :) Staff stayed during the tropical storm to feed us, and took care of us, We really appreciate your dedication. Thank you :D
This is a great hotel to stay at. My husband and I had a great time there. The only disappointment we had was in breakfast and lunch buffet. It was the same menue everyday and catered for one type of visitors. The cuisines should be versatile. Still a beautiful hotel.❤️
What I liked most, it literally the quaintest little bungalows on the most lush grounds ,manicured to the tee. Breakfast and Dinner were include in the price and I felt is was very reasonable for the total cost of the resort. Not many options for pescataruian/vegan diet but the other people seemed to enjoy the meals and entertainment. It was a relative older crowd , not many young people.
We were close to the front desk building, was super nosing early the morning and late at night. On the buffet for breakfast and diner, the personnel were awful, not even good morning / thanks... food was very basic and not the best.
We stayed in the Grand Kay building. Room spacious, the walls badly need fresh paint and the matress was worn-out. Nice tropical landscaping throughout the property but the poorly insulated balcony door did not keep the resident moskytoes outside. The half-board was OK but nothing spectacular, dinner started at 7pm which was a bit too late to our taste. Beach OK with quite a lot of seagrass in water. Excellent location for the ferry to the capital. Staff very friendly.
Beach was beautiful with all the starfish, ferry conveniently close if you need to go into town but don’t want to drive! Staff friendly with smiles ready to answer any questions you might have! Nice simple options with breakfast & dinner provided (drinks for dinner not included). As a solo traveller, felt safe and would definitely visit again. Thanks for a great week!!
This property has a great pool and is right on the beach. Wide variety of food choices. Great position for ferry and transport.
Electric kept cutting Mosquitoes bites all over body wifi terrible only works sometimes only in lobby food was repetitive. Staff was helpful at the restaurant not in front desk. Only good thing place is on the beach
Communication is very poor everyone seems to be confused when communication with this hotel, just to much back and forth. This time around the service was terrible as compared to the first time. I wont be going back to this place.
By the beach, the buffet dinner and breakfast were good as well. Hours of operation for the pool were bit restrictive.
It would of been good for someone else but for me the breakfast was one whre i didn't look forward to not a fun of
Amazing stay !!
Very cozy and laid-back. Staff is courteous and make you feel welcome. They need to have more entertainment in the hotel
Great property especially in Creole Culture side. Right next to the beach. Great satff. My stay incl. free breakfasts and dinners (buffet).
The property is extremely beautiful, its location on a fantastic beach is an added attraction as well as its closeness to the ferry service a mere 100m away - highly attractive! The bungalows are very picturesque and the surrounding flowers and fruit trees very charming. WIFI was never available in our bungalow and on some days only available in the reception area and not in the restaurants and bars.
Excellent
Very nice experience on our vacation. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice location with excellent access to the beach. Good food and drinks. We would definitely return.
My husband & I spent two weeks in Martinique at Hotel Bambou the end of February through the first part of March. This was our first travel experience in Martinique, although we have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean.. The island is delightful- exotic & tropical, with the bonus of very reliable services- electricity/ highways/ water quality, etc -due to its being a part of France. This is a positive and unique aspect of Martinique in comparison to many other islands of the Caribbean. As well, the people are friendly & welcoming & love sharing their island & its history. French IS the dominant language- and as visitors, one would be most comfortable with some mastery of French -as English speakers are limited. Do not expect much accommodation for English- Martinique is a part of France & so residents speak Creole/ French Patois or proper French. We were more than pleased with our experiences at Hotel Bambou. We found it very much as advertised on line. We booked through Orbitz and got exactly the type of room we reserved. Our room was in the newer section- Creole Culture - a "superior room with partial ocean view " on an upper level. It was roomy, spotlessly clean & well furnished. A nice balcony porch provided an ideal outside spot with constant breezes on which to relax- sip French Rose & sample Brie (available at the little shop across the road from the hotel) .The resort is beautifully maintained- inside & out. The landscaping throughout the resort is spectac
Misleading rate on site
While the location and the property are well maintained. the booking price though fairly high for the island only accommodated one person and an upcharge of almost 100 euro per day was applied. This really impacted our vacation. I would recommend being very careful about booking a room with them through an agent.
Hotel Bamboo pleasant but needs upgrades.
Nice grounds. The room was fine but they did not clean the room the second day. Towels were a bit smelly. There was no water in the resort for about 15 hours. We had breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast was fine. Dinner buffet had very few options for vegetarians. The shows were entertaining.
I spent four days at Hotel Bambou, it was absolutely wonderful! The hotel grounds are meticulously landscaped with tropical flowers and plants. The rooms are like individual villas, you have your own entrance with private patio. The pictures do not do it justice the hotel and rooms are so pretty. The room was clean, well decorated, comfortable bed, modern bathroom with rain shower head. The hotel is on the beach, I went to bed each night listening to the waves crash against the shore. One of the most relaxing trips I've ever had. The food was also really good, with a nice variety to choose from. The beach is just steps away, beach chairs and umbrellas are available for guests. The hotel restaurant/bar is accessible from the beach. The water is calm and felt great, there is also jet skis and other water sports available. All of the staff were lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. Martinique is a French speaking country so it would be helpful to learn a few conversational phrases, they will appreciate your effort. There is a ferry that will take you to Fort de France for only 7euros roundrip, much faster than driving and cheaper than a taxi. We did not rent a car, however the hotel is within walking distance to many bars, restaurants, shopping, casino etc. I would absolutely come back, I was more than pleased with my stay! Also should mention that check in/out process was seamless, arranged transportation to/from airport w/ hotel, that worked out great as well!
Great hotel
The hotel is lovely and right on the beach. Very clean and well-maintained. I love the kittens running around. Nice buffet.
The place felt like a locked down camp. You had to wear a bracelet or else you were not allowed on the property. We felt like we were in prison with high gates surrounding pool, restaurant, and buildings. If you are an American and can't speak French forget trying to communicate...employees were "NO" help. Had laundry service with washer, but dryer did not work. Main restaurant was only buffet with mediocre food. Really did not like this place.
Completely dishonest! We booked our room on Orbitz and prepaid in full for 3 nights. The room type we reserved was “Suite, Beach View” and the room description was given as following: “1 king bed, 323-sq-foot room, balcony/patio and beach with beach and ocean views ...". The hotel also offered “Superior Room, Partial Sea View” and “Standard Room, Garden View” during the same period with lower prices. Upon our arrival at around 5pm, we were given a room on the ground-floor with absolutely no view at all. After going back to the receptionist, the young man who checked us in said that the hotel was fully booked so the beach-view suite was no longer available. Even with our strong demand, his response was “there is no solution for you tonight but you can talk to our manager tomorrow and he will be here at 7am.” After our demanding to see the manager and many back and forth, wasting our valuable vacation time, we were given the room we paid for f2nd night but the hotel refused to offer any compensation to our loss for the 1st night. The suggestions for the hotel owner and the top management: 1) Be honest when listing rooms with the booking agencies and improve the operation to avoid overbooking. 2) Train the staff to be professional when treating guests and be willing to face the guest (not hiding behind the staff). 3) Take the responsibility and face the guests directly when issues rise. 4) Compensate and refund the guests voluntarily when an overbooking occurred by mistake.
Great location and great views. Our room was clean and comfortable. The small European style bathroom takes some getting used to as an American, but that is just a minor complaint overall. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Beautifull place, Clean, good location and wonderfull facilities Very good meals. For me this hotel is more a 3 stars Hotel than 2
Great location. Cute place. Right on the beach. Package with dinner and lunch was reasonable. Beds not that comfortable and you only get one beach towel for multiple days, so you might want to bring another one.
Great stay
Hotel was amazing, I’ll be back in Jan . It’s alittle far from the airport and cab service is expensive but that is not their fault . Over all had a great stay with them and would do it 100 time over. Free dinner and breakfast .. and the view from the restaurant is to die for . One minus pool is under construction, I was notified before booking .
A little worn out, no separate shower/curtains its right next to toilet, a/c worked well, my mattress was very comfortable so i did sleep well, terrible parking situation, very loud artificial(electronic cricket and frog) night sounds throughout the hotel grounds was difficult to get used to 9pm-6am. The free breakfast and evening buffet was by far the best part of the hotel. Very good food. Probably would not go back there.
Fantastic location right on the beach and next to the pier for the foot ferry from Anse Mitan to Fort de France. Cute bungalows with all the basics. Wifi was touch and go, but that was a good excuse to unplug!
Restaurant was very good. I enjoyed the meal selections for breakfast and dinner.
Go for the beach suites, the small units are cute, but it's small and hot in the garden with little breeze. The few extra euros is worth it. Nice property, but lacks detail, sign not lit at night missing bulbs, paint pealing, pot holes all over the parking lot, toiletries are weak. A little more attention to small things would make a big difference. The food was just ok, don't expect more than diner quality food. Overall nice property and beach areas.
hotel on the beach
we had a suite in the new part of hotel (its called "culture creole"), it was perfect. The pool was nice (only for this part of the hotel). But the old part looked also good. Very close is the public beach, include price you have a beds and sunshade. Next to hotel is big parking area (public), so parking is easy. The breakfast was average (scrambled eggs, sausage etc.), but we stayed three days and all days was exactly the same :( The dinner is a buffet and was not the same every day, but also average, do not expect nothing special. The staff would be nicer, but ok. Overall we liked the stay!
Nice hotel terrible food
Rooms are charming and very clean, grounds are beautiful with front porches. Great beach. Staff friendly, but front desk seems to brush aside WiFi complaints, WiFi reception not always working. The food was terrible, really poor quality and undrinkable coffee. After one breakfast and one dinner we didn’t eat there again. Staff worked hard to make dining room look welcoming, nightly entertainment added to this. Hotel wasn’t too expensive so we could afford to eat elsewhere and not feel pinched.
French Caribbean Experience
Had a great time. Staff was pleasant. Staff at the reception counter spoke English but most of the other staff only spoke French. Although there was a language barrier everyone was friendly. The room was perfect for myself and my toddler. The shower in the bathroom was great with one exception. The design of the space would always leave half of the bathroom floor wet. There was no shower door, curtain, or divider. The bathroom was an open concept. Water pressure and temperature for a hot shower was excellent. Breakfast at the restaurant was fine but dinner wasn’t as good. Buffet style dining. My only suggestion for improvement would truly be a flavorful selection of food in the dining room. The hotel is in a great area with options for dining, music, drinks, snacks, and more. Hotel is located on a beach front property that is splendid. Lastly the hotel is walking distance from the Ferry which you can use to explore other areas in Martinique.
Good Hotel
Nothing fancy, beautiful grounds and rooms that had just what you’d need, nothing more. Grounds on the beach, walk to a great little shopping area, or to the ferry dock and helpful front desk staff. We enjoyed our visit very much. Nothing is in English so we really did not know the daily activities or meals but we made it work.
Good hotel typically french
Beautiful Grounds and Location
A great little resort with a great beach and everything you’d want a short walk away. Staff was helpful and handled any request smoothly. My only critique would be dinner. The staff was slow and not particularly helpful. When we asked for the ‘a la carte’ menu, we got a frown and wait time suddenly increased. Drinks took forever and the server didn’t know what the by the glass wine we ordered was, we finally succumbed to the pressure and opted for the buffet, like everyone else. The food was good enough, but they started to run out and some selections were not available. We ate dinner in town for the rest of the trip. Also, the price posted at the hotel was not that different than the Expedia price. To end on a high note, our bartender, Réne was awesome. What a great man, he rounded out every evening wondefully. We’ll be back.
A good stay!
Hotel Bambou has two sides; one with cottages and other side with more upscale, newer 2-level duplexes. Entire hotel--rooms and common areas--are very clean and landscaping is beautiful. Beach is bay-side with few waves and clear water. The area is safe and within walking of restaurants and bars. Breakfast just o.k. Dinner is much better with good variety each night. Overall, I rate Hotel Bambou a strong 3.5 Stars. With better food, I would rate a definite 4 Stars. For the money though, you can't go wrong here.
Visit to Martinique
Stayed for a few days before heading to a different part of the island. Biggest barrier no one speaks very good English, so at times it was difficult to communicate with servers in restaurant, and the area in general.
Exactly what I was looking for
Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic food. Excellent location
Good value, very French.
Not exactly what I was expecting (buffet dinner included !) but pretty good, friendly, on the water, internet ok, and a view of Fort de France over the bay.
It's cool
Cute stay, nothing spectacular but very cute. Food wasn't great.
We needed a short notice room after our return flight was canceled due to snow at JFK. We were very happy to find this hotel on Expedia especially since our hotel in Point du Bout not only wouldn't extend us 2 days but also said there were zero rooms available in the whole town. Only beef is that, although we were already paying a steep rate, they piled on higher charges for two person occupancy of a room with King-sized bed. I would say 99% of people are booking a resort hotel room for two people so I would term this practice deceptive. However the room and hotel itself were really nice and overall given our predicament we were happy to have it.
Beautiful location, great value!
Great: - location - clean - beach - affordable (free wi-fi and breakfast, dinner included in price of room except for drinks) - inexpensive transportation to/from airport booked through hotel - friendly staff Would definitely stay here again.
Perfect for groups, families & older couples
That said I was a solo non-French speaker & for me the hotel was just okay... best part being it's proximity to the beach and it's reasonable price. Staff was not fluent in English so any questions were hard. Buffet food wasn't very good & that's a shame because the island has amazing food.
Petit dejeuner : jambon blanc, emmental tranche. Oeufs brouillés, bacon, pommes rissolées, salade. Fruits frais : ananas, pasteque, melon, tranches oranges et pamplemousse. Yaourt. Viennoiserie : chocolatine, croissant. Petits pains. Jus fruit, café. Diner : pas top. Toujours pareil.
On s’y sent vraiment bien.
Check-In rapide et accueillant.

they cut off the water on the last day and front desk never informed the guests
