Shower not practical for 6’5” and more tall people. But overall it was great.

Very good value for money

This hotel is located in the heart of the city. It's very convenient to get to tourist locations by metro from the station immediately in front of the hotel or a short walk to the Sol plaza. The room was tidy and was cleaned every day when we visited. For the cost we paid for this trip with a friend, I am really not complaining.

Nice time for 3 time

It my third time in this hotel since 2022. For a reason. It was good as always

Very central and directly opposite a metro station. Friendly and helpful staff. Small room, but still good value, a cheap price in a central area.

This was a great property for us. We enjoyed being on the front of the building overlooking the plaza. Some might not appreciate the noise, but we found the spirit in the street as joyful & entertaining. Our room was basic but had the space we needed. The bathroom was really nice for a hotel in this price range. We had a mini-fridge. I would have like an electric tea kettle. Most of the staff was tremendous. The women we had the first day & most days was amazing. She helped with several needs/queries, incuding leaving our luggage after our early overseas flight. Her English was as good as mine. I had two curt encounters with a male staff. He was determined not to try to communicate, even when I tried broken Spanish. My 76 y.o. partner fell & gashed his leg. We asked for an extra pillow to elevate his leg. He pretended to have no idea what I was saying, until I pointed to a picture. He insisted there were no extra pillows in the entire building. The next day, I clearly saw two brand new pillows in the laundry room. BUT everything else about this modest hotel was sweet. Amazingly convenient to public transportation. Metro & bus stop immediately across the street. Bus service directly to train station, Place de Mayor, Puerto del Sol. Several pleasant restaurants on our plaza. Really pleased.

Fantastic location! Bare bones room, but exactly as described. Comfortable bed. Only inconvenience was lack of electrical outlets but I jus unplugged the TV and fridge :-)

Pros: Staff was nice and understanding. The room was quiet and clean, no complaints. It hostel is close to many highlights of the city Cons: I would have appreciated a water bottle in the room. The AC was functional but it was leaking. I had to move the bed.

The hotel location is conveniente since its in front of the metro station and 8min walk feon the principal square. The area is a little noisy since in front of the hotel there are bars so it might be busy and noisy at night. It was clean and the rooms and spacious.

Great location

Tirso de Molina metro station is 20 steps from the front door. 5 minute walk to the city center. Front desk offered to hold my bags while I got coffee and walked around. Rooms are a bit dated but overall a decent place.

Nice place to stay for a couple of nights. PROS: Great location, walkable to main attractions (Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía, Museo del Prado). It is just in front of a Metro station and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Unbeatable location, clean room. CONS: They are kind enough to take care of your luggage either before checking in or after checking out. However, are not helpful at all if you need early check in or late check out. Room is decent but extremely small.

We stayed for a short break. The rooms were very clean and you could smell the products when you opened the doors. Rooms are basic and a little tired/worn but for the price point I’d accept that. They had the keys things, okay bed, bathroom, Aircon plus a fan to keep things cool. The staff were all very helpful and could not fault them.

It has some quirky charm as an old heritage building. My room was very small, which was fine as I had no intention of spending a lot of time there. It faced the courtyard and was quiet. The staff were very friendly and were happy to speak to me in Spanish despite my limited capabilities. The only problem I had was they did not seem to believe me that the air conditioning did not work. Yes, it blew some air, but the temperature did not change and it stayed hot in the room. Or perhaps they thought June is too early to turn on the cooling system? But I persisted with them about it and they did bring in a technician after my second night and got the A/C working again for the second floor. I slept very well the third night.

Right in the middle of everything but the building itself and the room needs major update. It’s quite dated, the elevator is tiny.

It was very clean and close to transportation

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They safely stored our luggage and offered to call a taxi for us when leaving. My bathroom door was bigger than the frame, and therefore unable to close. That was my only issue with the hostal.

En la primera noche se activó la alarma. No tuvimos información de la razón. Tampoco nadie apareció a dar explicaciones u orientación. Edificio vetusto que requiere de cuidados. El ascensor no da certeza de seguridad.

Decent hostel in the middle of the city. For the price, I think it was decent. However, if you're sensitive to smell and noise, this might not be for you. The noise level is not optimal as you are near the theatres and right upstairs a bar. You'll smell the cigarettes and hear the conversations. The A/C unit did not work. Wifi was decent. The staff was really friendly, and always greeted us when we were in or out.

Un lugar pequeño, ideal para dormir, completamente silencioso, esta cerca caminando de muchos lugares, el staff fue muy cordial y totalmente regresariamos!

The man on reception was very rude on arrival. The room was clean. The bathroom was not accessible. This hostel is not accessible for people with a disability as stated. The location is convenient for the sights, but the area immediately outside does not feel safe especially at night. The view out of the window was a wall about 30cm away. The wallpaper was falling off and there were stains on the wall below the air conditioning unit. I would not stay here again or recommend to others.

Excellent location!

Super convenient and near attractions so can walk everywhere. Pretty good deal for price and location but can be a little loud so would recommend earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Staff is super welcoming and helpful. They will clean your room daily if requested. Has a very small elevator so would not recommend trying to navigate with a large group with many suitcases.

It is an older building, but everything worked. Not the Ritz clean, but it was clean. Proper security measures for a mixed building. Loads of restaurants in the neighborhood. Close enough to everything, including a metro stop just outside the door.

Convenient stay

Great value for money. Location is excellent, close to rverything you need to know in Madrid. Metro station right in front. Staff is very friendly, and there are coffee shops and supermarkers within wslking distance. The room was simple and small, but clean and exactly what I expected.

This property was terrible! I can't believe the reviews. The lobby and interior of the hotel was unsightly. The room was pretty clean but I didn't think they were serious about no bedding! What?! The shower was also tiny. Plus the air conditioning was weak. I was woken up the next morning with pounding all over the roof. Some sort of construction I assume. Plus, that's was the smell of cigarettes coming through the vents. I checked out after the first day of my six day booking. The front desk didn't offer to partially refund me or even attempt to rectify the situation!

Very clean and perfect location. Quiet rooms though the one I was in was towards the back of the building. Only issue I had was the WiFi didn’t work well. Thankyou!

Excellent value!

Arrival was very pleasant. The pillows and mattress are new and super comfy. The shower is small and also new with plenty of hot water. The room is very large. Sheets and towels crisp and white. Location is excellent. It is noisy but it is Spain!

Clean room but nothing more

Reception not so friendly, bathroom had a constant stench of cigarettes from someone smoking in the connected airvent. Cleanliness was very good

Nice hostal right next to Tirso de Molina metro station and easy walking distance to most of Madrid sights. Puerta del Sol was only 15min away on foot, and Plaza Mayor even less. There is a Lidl supermarket next to the hostal, plus many bars and restaurants too. Staff was kind. Quick check-in and check-out. The place is extremely clean. The single room somewhat small and the windows opens to an inner courtyard with exhaust fumes from a nearby restaurant but apart from that it was a very comfortable stay.

A great value hotel located in Lavapies and close to Atocha Renfe and Plaza del Sol. The property is basic but clean and comfortable with friendly and very helpful staff.

Perfect location to explore Madrid for a few days!

The location was great for a weekend trip, a 10-15 minute walk to most of the places we wanted to visit and not too difficult to get to from the airport! Allowed us to leave our bags before we checked in and after we checked out, which made it easier to make the most of our few days in the city. Mickey was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again if we ever came back to Madrid!

The room is clean but there's no water boiler nor cups for morning coffee. The shower is not stable, it's icy a second and boiling the next. Be careful with that. Staff, though, are extremely helpful and location is great.

The service was excellent - the guy who checked us in was patient, sweet, and carried all our luggage up the stairs for us. This place was honestly nicer than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. It was spacious, private, stylish, the bed was extremely comfortable, and we had a great view of the plaza through a pair of double doors to the small balcony. I mean, a private hostel room with a balcony?? Is that even still a hostel? Shower was great, plenty of water pressure and hot water (and an in shower soap dispenser that came in handy, since I forgot to pack body wash). Next time I'm in Madrid I'll skip Airbnb and just stay here in the double room instead. Absolutely wonderful and shockingly cheap, especially considering it was a really big weekend to visit Madrid.

Third time I’ve stayed here. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, it’s central to most things, it’s next to a metro station and it’s inexpensive. A great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep.

Scary place

The front desk was extremely rude and acted like she wanted to get rid of me. After dinner I came back and there were some seedy looking people chatting with her at the front desk. I was scared.

This place is right in the middle of where you want to be. There are many things that go on within a 1 to 8 min walk. All the plazas, shops and restaurants are right there. The room is not that big but we didn't spend most of our time there, it was only for sleeping which was fine.

Have stayed here a few times. Great location and friendly welcoming staff. Metro literally outside the front door. Plenty of surrounding tapas bars and 5 min walk to Puerta del Sol.

Spent 4days in Madrid .Great location walking distance to everything. Front desk employees were helpful and friendly. I will return to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is great. Walking distance to most of the tourist spots. And if you need the subway it is 20 steps from the front door. The room was very clean and the people working the front desk were very helpful. It’s not fancy but the price was good for the location, air conditioning and an elevator.

Great Stay, Location is the best

Hotel is located in Plaza Tirzo de Molina, 20 feet away from a metro stop. It is a 10 min walk to Plaza Del Sol which is the center of the city, perfectly located. Great friendly staff that can help you with anything you need. I will definetely recommend this hotel!!

Great value

This hostel is in a great area. I was able to walk everywhere. Safe and not too loud. For the price the room was good. It was tiny and had barely any natural light but unless you want to spend a lot more it's not a big issue. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall I would stay again.

Friendly staff and good location

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us good advices on sightseeing and restaurants choices. It gets noisy on weekend up to 4 am on Fri & Sat.

Nice Hostal in downtown madrid

Nice hostal, right in front of metro station, very close to puerta del sol, plaza mayor and other landmarks. Room is very clean, comfortable and A/C actually works. Overall very good place to stay

A good plaase to stay in Madrid

We stay in the hostal for three day and was very nice. The beds are ok although all were single beds and I was with my wife. The bathroom in very nice, but the shower too small. Almost all the atractions of Madrid are walking distance from the Hostal (15 - 20 minutes). There is not breakfast at the hostal, but near is a good bakery. In front of the hostal is a metro station. The internet worked very nice. The staff very friendly and helpful. The price - beneficie is really good.
