The place is in the middle of the city. It is close to everything. The only downside is the noise. Also there is no AC.
Perfect spot for everything. Attraction,Shopping,Dining.
No frills option with great customer service and clean, comfortable amenities
Pleasant and helpful staff. Authentic style and vibes. I really enjoyed my stay.
Very friendly helpful check-in. Good room, very clean, felt safe. Internal window made it quiet though prefer external even if noisier.
Smallest hotel room for 3 people I’ve ever been in and the noisiest as the people use their power tools outside your door at 8 o’clock in the morning wouldn’t recommend that place to anyone
older but private and clean , great location
Easy check in, comfortable bed and great location.
Excellent location
Fantastic location, moments walk from Gran Via Metro station. Hotel was basic, but spotlessly clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful
nice little cozy hostal .. small room with attached bath but that is a shade better then comparable other such propoerties.. very convineant location... couple of metro stations within walking distances..
Great location, helpful staff but no soundproofing in the rooms. I was next to a couple with a young, noisy child and I missed a lot of sleep!
Great location in the centre of Madrid. Close to most sites Friendly and helpful staff.
Love the location
Perfect location best quality price
Friendly clean and very helpful. The staff were very attentive and polite rooms very clean and well equipped with a fridge.
Lovely cosy hotel/hostal. Would be nice to have a fan in the room for some air circulation but otherwise 10/10 would stay again

Great location - no frills
Convenient choice in a good location
You can’t beat the location since it is very central and convenient to Puerta del Sol and Gran Via station, but under construction right now, so if you are taking the metro, you have to use Sol, Callao or Cuenca. The staff speaks very limited English. The hostel itself on the 6th floor was very quiet and beautifully decorated. WiFi was excellent. If you are out all day and need a quiet, convenient and clean place to stay, but on a budget, Hispano Argentino is a good choice.
I made the mistake of taking the one room that does not have a washroom in it. Otherwise, the accommodations were finr.
It was small but perfect for a nice sleep and a good hot shower before heading out early in the morning leaving Madrid. Right in the middle of Gran Via makes easy access for shopping and browsing around. I would stay here again.
My room was very small but just about OK with a small cupboard, small chest of drawers and hand basin. One shared shower / toilet for all rooms on the floor.
Not as expected
I booked this hotel during World Pride since many other places were already booked and based on my budget. The Hotel is not a hotel and yet a Hostel. Which there is not a 24 hours concierge available that made this very unpleasant to stay here. When I arrived late hours and with not concierge I would need to wait on the outside of the hostel for a door man to appear and escort me to my room. This was very unpleasant. The room didn't have a real bed, it was a pull up bed that was very uncomfortable and seemed fragile. It did had fresh bedding and towels and the room were clean. But that feeling to have someone to escort you to your room every time you have to come late night was not good. At some point I would be inside the place late a night and think about going out but I would not do it because I would need to wait to the door main to escort me back and forth. I will not recommend this to a friend and would not stay here again. Ah, the stuff during the day was friendly. That a least was a plus.
Very nice place in the heart of Madrid.
An old building tipical of Madrid center with a beautiful arquitectural detalis..... very nice staff and very secure. Great location on Gran Via Madrid with very easy access to Metro, bus and Taxi services close to almost every thing......
Very central and convenient.
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast from 8.15am is too late.
Cheaper hotel
Very noisy area, but extremely central.Room only had window to the corridor,so got woke up when someone came late.
Try somewhere else
Like others have said, the rooms really need updating. And for the price I felt it was expensive and not worth it. As I stayed Friday and Saturday those nights were more expensive than others at 65 euros per night; I have stayed in better places in Seville and Granada for example for around 30 euros. The room was clean and they gave me fresh towels for my second day. The neighbourhood: central but with a lot of 'working girls' hanging around on the corner in the middle of the day. One thing the Hostal should do is get rid of the old oppressive faux curtains and tired grey net curtains. There was a safe in the room with a notice saying it could be 'rented' which I thought was really tight of them, I would have to pay for the key. How mean! I moved from there to my first choice Hostal CC Malasana and it was another world, such a light contemporary room AND cheaper, shame it was not available for the first two nights of my stay in Madrid.
A sentimemtal journey.
I taught in Madrid (at the Instituto Mangold in in the Gran Via) over 50 years ago. The hotel is conveniently located for what I had in mind: strolllng around reliving memories, soaking up the atmosphere, rather than sightseeing as such. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
I just loved this place!
The location is unbeatable, right on Gran Via, within walking distance of the major museums and sights of central Madrid.
It's a Hostal World after all!
Step off busy and magical Gran Vía into the lobby of this wonderful building, take the elevator up to the 6th floor and enter the realm of the Hispano-Argentino Hostal. Very welcoming owners, simple accommodations which are comfortable but tight, & remember what you paid for this prime location in the heart of Spain's most exciting city! I would go back, if traveling on my own, as I did on this trip.
great value
Great place for staying. best location, great rooms.
Great value
Great loction, nice room for two, clean and good staff
Tiny mickeyhouse room
Was horrible. Room is tiny. Only can walk around edge of bed. Drawf bathroom as well. Not comfortable stay. Room is dim and grim. Won't recommend to others. Wooden floor with bed sound proofing. Can hear next door guest walking in the room. Wifi in room needs to log in everyday many times. Checkout time stated by Agent is noon but owner called to tell me it was 11am. Inconsistency of information here. irritable stay overall.
great
for the price this was a great stay!!!! great location great staff..simple yet elegant
Centrally located
I only stayed in this hotel because my other hotel which I booked was not available for Saturday night. I don't think I'll stay there again. It was very hard to find because the whole building was being renovated outside and the front was like a building site. It took me a while to find it. The rooms were the smallest ones I've ever been!
Great experience. Jose is great. Will stay here again.
Well located and cost effective hostel
Next to "Puerta del Sol" and to the metro station, the hostel is a good option if you're looking for a room at a reasonable price. Even though we see that the amenities are not new, all is well maintained and kept clean. Besides, the manager allowed the luggage to stay in the lobby after the check-out deadline, which was nice.
Some Good, Some Bad
PROS: Location-right in the middle of Madrid Price-VERY reasonable Safety-Excellent Water-GREAT tasting! NON-SMOKING!!!! CONS: Thin walls and doors SMALL tub Small beds Small room Lack of temperature controls in room
Tiny, dirty, noisy rooms. A horrible stay.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I made the mistake of booking it when it had no reviews - this is why I'm taking the time to warn others. This place cost me 70 Euros a night, which is more than the four-star hotel I was in just down the road the week before. The room was farcically small, and the sheets did not smell fresh. I was not told that I had to request the control for the air-conditioning to work and when I needed it at night reception was unmanned. For some reason, Gran Via is noisier in the night than in the day, and the windows were completely inadequate to make the noise possible to deal with. After staying one night, I booked another hotel because I couldn't face the second night there. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else.
Very noisy from corridor movement.
Very noisy from corridor movement. Very secure building was appreciated.
thanks to Rebeca and her Father
thanks to Rebeca and her Father in the reception. We receive wonderful service .
Loved the location. Front desk manager speaks English.
Great open-air breakfast room.
Ubicación excelente para todo.
Excelente Hostal
Limpio. Metro a media calle, buses. Estuve muy contenta. Vale la calidad-precio.
It’s difficult to find the entrance
Chambre petite
Solo mejorar limpieza
Enkelt men okej.
Instalaciones Limpias, personal agradable y buena ubicación
Normal
Todo bien, nada fuera de lo normal
excelente hotel y centrico
Funcionários amáveis e sempre dispostos a ajudar.
Habitaciones diminutas y ruidosa
Excelente ubicación hotel viejo habitaciones diminutas y ruidosas
