Exactly what I needed. It's close to the Forum and Colosseum. The room was spartan but very clean and the front desk was friendly and helpful. They let me drop bags early and keep them behind the desk after check out so I could tour. I would stay here again under similar circumstances.
Excellent
ALL staff, especially Lorenzo and Ava, are fantastic, always a warm friendly welcome. Five star roof terrace service by Agnes. Location for this hotel is perfect for all major attractions. We will be back!
Exceptional hotel in a perfect location. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Rome .
Hotel definitely needs up to date renovations and the beds were stiff smelled very bad.
The room was smaller than advertised. We had issues with the electrical outlets, the staff quickly resolved it for us.
The staff were very friendly and happy to help.
Superbly located within walking distance between major sights and the restaurant district across the river. Our triple room suited our daughter as her bed is in its own little ’wing’. All fittings were tasteful and of top quality. Great shower was essential for the 37C outside, and there were two air conditions to enjoy. The receptionist, who had lived in London, gave a very warm welcome and even sketched out our walking tour on a map. Breakfast in the vaults was excellent, with cooked and cold meats and plenty else. There was a roof terrace which was unfortunately was closed on the one evening we went for a drink. Highly recommended,
Love this hotel! Location is excellent ,walking distance to most places ( Trevi , Coloseum).very clean and quiet .staff is very helpful and friendly .Loved breakfast option .highly recommend!
Very close to Colloseum and many other touristic spots.
The rooms were a good size. They provided toiletries and water. They cleaned our room and replaced our towels daily. The breakfast spread was amazing, a good start to our days in Rome. The staff were polite and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.
Solo traveler. Stayed for 14 nights. The location was A . Close to everything. The room was small, but I expected that for Rome. Bed was hard but ok. No microwave. Small mini fridge. Hair dryer was broken. No dresser or place to keep much clothing, just a small wardrobe closet with 5 hangers, so not good if you have 2 weeks worth of clothing. Wanted to iron my clothes but was told it wasn't allowed at all in the hotel. I was given an address a 6 minute walk away where they said I could get someone to do it. Walked over with my clothes and the woman said no, she didn't have time. Went back to the hotel and was told I could try another place about 10 minutes away, but I didn't take the chance and just didn't wear them. Staff was friendly and cleaning staff was great when they cleaned the room. The only other issues were there was no view from my room because it faced a back alley wall and it was dark all day in the room because of that, and also there was construction on the building next door and it was very noisy early in the morning with drilling and grinding noises. Overall a good place for short stays or possibly longer if you get a bigger/better room than the one I got.
Great place.
I liked the stay, easy to get anywhere on foot. Great breakfast. Clean rooms. Randomly at night midnight to 2am we could hear chairs being moved.
I’ve stayed mere several times before. The property is well maintained and centrally location. Staff are great! I’ll be back
Good location, old facilities and not good breakfast
Very dated property! However we only slept there and it was clean and comfortable.
Extremely helpful staff and a location that is ideal within the city.
ALL staff are always absolutely wonderful and couldn't be any more friendly and helpful. Can't wait to see you all again in March.
The Signora in the afternoon was great! I told her that the coffee was terrible - she advised that I need only request an espresso or cappuccino - because many people simply want American coffee. So I did that the next morning and it was perfect. Second, Wi-Fi is weak - hotel promised me that they were aware of problem and that new Wi-Fi is being installed.
Stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The location is convenient to many sites. The staff is very nice. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The $10 breakfast offers alot of delicious options.
This is a great location to everything. Wish we could have extended our stay but had to switch hotels because they were booked. Older hotel but very helpful and friendly. If you want location this, is it. We are in Rome for the sights, food, nightlife, etc. Having a place to sleep that was in a great location was a bonus no taxi needed. Highly recommend if you want to be where the action is.
The staff was especially wonderful, and both of the front desk staff we met were exceptionally helpful to us! We had missed our cruise that day, along with our luggage being lost, and needed lots of help making phone calls and corresponding with locals. Highly recommend!!!
Exactly what I needed. It was central to nearly everything, being located in the historic district. Many places to see around the area and also places to grab a bite to eat. Really loved the rooftop bar it had. When you live in America you have an idea of a “hotel” so don’t compare the two. The room was small, the building is historical (and therefore old), but it had everything I needed to make Rome the trip of my life. It would be an easy decision to go back for me.
Staff are like family. Great location.
The property itself is a good value. The staff was great. My issue is that the entrance is on a smaller street with homeless staying inside the scaffolding. I observed them using drugs.
Always a wonderful stay here, we have stayed a few times. Staff are all lovely and friendly.
Great location, all main attractions within walking distance. Staff are efficient and friendly.
will stay again.
We liked the location - had stayed before for 2 days after previous cruise 9 years ago. So many sites within walking distance. Hotel provides excellent value for the price (was actually less $ this time in December than it was 9 years ago in November). Staff were very helpful & friendly. The only issue we had was some rowdy guests across the hall. Those 3 young ladies were totally thoughtless - they talked loudly with their door open and were up late both night making a lot of noise. Finally the first night I called the front desk at about 3 am and gentleman at desk came right up and they quieted down. I should have called earlier. The 2nd night wasn't quite as bad - they went out at about 10 pm and returned just before midnite and were loud for a short period of time. Apparently they were staying at hotel for a week - management should have kicked them out after the 1st couple nights since we weren't the only ones complaining. Other than that, we would definitely stay at the Hosianum Palace again and recommend it to others.... We discovered a fairly new restaurant (Tony's) just around the corner and they had evening special (Appetizer, Pasta & Dessert) for only 10€ - we went there both nights for supper. The Breakfast we had at hotel on our first morning was excellent for the 10€ cost. We left too early on 2nd morning (to get to airport) to have Breakfast (started at 7:30 am).
Breakfast and bar. Right in the middle of rome. Beds were hard though.
Excellent
Location is very convenient, you have lots of atracción s within minutes walk , cute place a perfect room for a solo traveler, mini bar is great a mix of good stuff bathroom was better than expected, very happy the staff is great al always willing to do their best excellent customer service , I’ll definitely stay again if I always go back to Rome
Great location, helpfull staff, good breakfast, overall very good hotel!
Great service and close to everything The mini bar did not work very well and being on the fourth floor I had a bean coming down and knock my head 4 times on it
Good: perfect location. All attractions are extremely close. Staff was excellent and helpful. Breakfast could be better quality, especially omelet. Too boring to eat 5 days in a row. Room had old urine smell. Property need renovation.
Dirty rugs in room and throughout.. buffet not very good. Location is great for many of the sights
Very good hotel to spend your holiday
I stayed in the hotel for a week during a business trip. The hotel location is excellent with good price. The hotel is in the center of everything, from where you can walk to many places of interests. Staff in the hotel is very helpful to provide you some information, especially when you come in the first day. Breakfast is very good indeed. The room is old styled, the bed is spacious. There is nothing to complain about because the price is so decent compared with other star hotels nearby.
Lovely staff and very clean hotel. Beds were very hard.
Great location Very nice roofgarden Clean but little old and dark room
The staff is kind and knowledgeable. A low-key place. Didn’t try the breakfast, but I did have a drink on the lovely rooftop garden. Great view. Only thing I could suggest: the carpeting is quite dirty and stained. Needs a good shampoo. Next: vacuum the edges of the carpeting once a month. That goes a long way to keeping it looking new. I loved the area and would like staying there again. A hidden treasure.
Hosoinum is very well located in Rome. We could walk to many sights and the bus system is well organized. A little difficult to locate but that is pare for the course in Rome.
Excellent locations. Lovely staff. Facilities could be improved on!
Alessandro was so lovely and welcoming! He was always ready with a smile and helpful suggesstions whenever we had questions.
lovely place to stay, nice staff and close to all attractions
Good location and very helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent
Lovely friendly hotel. Clean and very central. Rooms aren't huge though! Good breakfast (cooked and continental). This was our second stay there as enjoyed it the last time. The only drawback is the headboard which actually prevents you from sitting up and reading as it sticks out and is uncomfortable if you are sitting up leaning back. But we would certainly return there.
Convenient hospitable base
The hotel is very centrally situated in a quiet narrow street and ideal for all the highlights of the city that is a walking city to see the sights. Hotel needs some updating but the breakfast was very good. The outstanding feature of our stay were the marvellous staff who could not have been more cheerful and helpful throughout.
Great location
You cant beat this hotel for its location. The staff were great and are happy to help with anything you need. Turn right out of the hotel for a couple of great little restaurants in a piazza 2 minutes away.
I have stayed here at least once a year for about 15 years. It’s nice, and in a great location, but nothing has been updated in this time and it’s starting to be a bit shabby: a drawer that doesn’t work, a sagging bathroom shelf, best-up hagers I. The closet. The thing that keeps me going g back, all things consider, is the staff, who are always engaging and helpful above and beuond what’s required.
Excellent location, breakfast, and rooftop terrace
The location was absolutely fantastic, near Venezia Plaza by the "Wedding Cake" monument, but on a narrow side street away from traffic noise. There is a charming terrace on the 5th floor offering drinks in the evening. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety. I only wished they had it on the terrace as advertised, instead of the basement since the weather was great. The only negative was that the bed was a bit hard and our room on the 4th floor had a dormer-type window so that the ceiling was low by the bed, making it awkward to get around it. I hit my head 3 times the 1st day. We will definitely consider the Hosianum for a future stay, but I would not stay in a room with the dormer window.
Clean convenient hotel. But outdated. No coffee pot in the rooms. Very poor cellphone reception inside. Breakfast was excellent and well presented. Super convenient. Walk to everything. Helpful desk staff. Beautiful rooftop garden with a bar and very nice attendant.
Lovely hotel
I loved the classic decor and the staff were the best we met anywhere, especially the receptio nist who printed out our boarding passes and pointed out all the best pla es on the map of Rome which he gave us on arrival. Also the lady in the lovely roof garden restaurant was very kind and tboughtful. Only two mi or complaintz were that there wasn't a plug on my side of the bed and the only way of turning off the air conditioning was to open tbe window, at which it went off automatically. If I'm being really picky I would have liked to have had a zlightly bigger fridge as there wasn't much space to ztore our water bottles.
One night stay with baby
Only stayed one night and were trying to see as much of rome as we could in the little time we had. Staff was extremely helpful in recomending things to see and how to get to the locations, walk, bus, taxi etc. Air conditioning was amazzing after being out in the heat all day! Breakfast was good and had more types of food than what other places offer (eggs, sausage, bacon among others). They provided a crib for our 9month old at no extra charge (was very clean). Good location walkable to some of the major sights ( colosseum, forum, trevi fountain, pantheon) and easy enough to get to others by bus. A little bit challenging to find on our arrival (tucked into what apeared to be an alleyway). I would recomend this hotel.
Fantastic location, close the Forum and Coliseum. Very nice staff.
Small but friendly
Excellent location, but tricky to initially find with taxi dropping us off "somewhere near".Accomodation perfectly adequate,if a little dated, but poor sound proofing(with neighbouring guests arguing)and beds with hard mattresses(my daughter didn't complain)lead to some sleepless nights.Overall,a sound choice for a short stay for sightseeing with excellent guest services.
Staying in Rome
We choose this hotel because of its location. The hotel is pleasing and quiet and we had a nice stay. If you are looking for a modern and spacious room, book elsewhere. The best feature of this hotel is the roof terrace and also breakfast is very good.
A hidden little gem
This hotel is a hidden gem. It is in a perfect location - it is situated down a quiet little road off a main road - all the main sights are within walking distance. I cannot rate the staff highly enough - they were amazing - they can’t do enough for you (from recommending restaurants to providing ice for a bruised knee!) Rooms are basic and not particularly large but they are kept spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was basic but delicious (scrambled eggs, bacon, hams, cheese, bread and pastries) - it was served from 7.30am to 10.30am so no need to rush down in the morning. The roof terrace was an awesome place to chill out with a bottle of wine in the evening. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Good location, terrific staff
My room was stiflingly small, the bed was uncomfortable, and it was impossible to take a shower without flooding the entire minuscule bathroom. The breakfast was ordinary with fresh fruit being the best offering. The coffee was among the worst I’ve ever had-impossible to identify the flavor. On the other hand, the staff was wonderful, helpful, accommodating and kind. They get five stars!
The hotel was perfect for my needs, right in the center of Rome near to all the attractions. Room was clean, comfortable and really good size. Would happily stay again.
Really lovely hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Ideally situated for all the tourist areas if a little noisy.
Good central location
Great location
Hosianum Palace is located in a great position for reaching all the major tourists sites on foot. We have stayed at this hotel once before and would thoroughly recommend it. The staff are helpful and courteous and the rooms comfortable and well maintained. If is worth asking for a room to the left of the elevator because they tend to be a touch larger.
Wish the carpets in room were updated or overall removed. Look dirty and old and stained
Central location ideal for all main attractions
First room offered was an attic room obviously an overspill room when hotel is over booked? Very basic amenities safe in room did not operate staff failed to recitify. Alternative room offered following day no safe fitted however following day safe was fitted. Room was clean
Well located. Friendly and helpful staff.
Good breakfast. Well located near public transportation.
Conveniently located.
Hotel is close to all main attractions in Rome and everything is pretty much within walking distance. Breakfast was decent and the staff was always helpful and positive. I would strongly recommend this place.
OK Hotel
The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunetly the room was disappointing.
Great location with friendly staff. Small rooms but that is expected with such a beautiful ancient building.
scary parking, but hotel was great
the gentleman at the front desk was amazing. he helped us find parking after the parking garage he sent us to didn't work out - there was a mugging right outside our car as we were sitting there - which was terrifying. Long story short, we got out of there asap and tried to find parking elsewhere for the next few hours (it was absolutely impossible) before finally going back to the hotel to ask about suggestions for literally anywhere else we could park. the guy practically made us a spot right outside, which was great because our room was on that side and I could see the car from our window. Other than that, the breakfast buffet was glorious the next morning. The room was clean and and comfortable (bed was a bit stiff but pillows were great). Great wifi and plenty of outlets to plug in and charge devices.
Great experience good breakfast reccomend to friends
A ok place where to spend a night. Old style, no insonorization, room relatively clean
Great Value!
This Hotel has terrific value! Very close to all the major sites in central Rome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and showed us all the pertinent stops including the restaurant district where locals eat. The included breakfast was varied and satisfying, just don’t expect good Italian coffee. Our room was a decent size and very clean. The only problem, as noted by others, was a stiff mattress although my partner didn’t think it was an issue. There was a foul smell that seemed to come from the shower drain. We have this same problem up at our cottage in Canada. We taped the drain over with a roll of tape we brought with us and that solved the problem quickly. I suggest the owners supply a drain cover. Our friends down the hall didn’t have this problem. I would highly recommend this hotel because of the amazing value. Oh, and let’s not forget the beautiful rooftop patio!
THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY NICE , BUT THE BED NEEDS TO BE REPLACED -- THE MATTRESS IS VERY OLD AND I HARDLY WAS ABLE TO SLEEP IN THIS BED , ALSO THE CARPET SHOULD BE REPLACED OR NEEDS TO BE CLEANED ------ OTHERWISE IT IS A NICE HOTEL AND VERY CLOSE TO MANY OF THE BEAUTIFUL SIDES OF ROM.....
A Week in Rome
Very tight for 3 adults. Taking a shower was also a challenge. The shower curtain did a poor job keeping the water from getting all over the floor.
Great location
Had a really good stay! Staff were very friendly and helpful
Close to everything
Very satisfied Excellet location Staff so friendly
Perfect location: 5 minute walk to ancient Rome
5 min walk to Capitoline hill, Pantheon, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Venizia, Ghetto ( best Restaurants in the Ghetto)
Location great, could use comfy bed
Location is excellent, you can walk easily to Pantheon, coliseum and more within 15 min. Staff was extremely friendly as we had flight cancellation and needed another night and they assisted with this and taxi to airport etc. The carpet could maybe use an update. The bed was very very hard but also not a 5 star hotel or anything so we made do! Overall, good price for location.
Nice hotel great location,Very helpful staff.
Enjoyed all three days, pleasant continental breakfast, great location.Very good AC unit as the temperature touched 39 degrees on the second day aircondtion was the order of the day.
Great location
Wonderful experience, hotel staff was wonderful the rooms were clean. My only complaint is the bed is very very hard. Felt like I was sleeping on a board. Other than that it was perfect so close to sites
awesome trip
great location, very friendly staff
Decent hotel
Great location, within walking distance to most sites. Staff very helpful and a great breakfast bar! We also liked the hotel bar located on the top floor. The only draw backs was the mattress and room service was slow to non existent. The mattress was rock hard and I had to call front desk 2 times to get an extra pillow which I never received and again for extra towls that I received 2 days later. Over all I would use them again.
Great location
If you want to walk to all attractions, this hotel is really convenient. We didn't take any public transport at all during our 3-day stay in Rome. But don't expect too much from the hotel.
Excellent location and wonderful staff
We travelled in a group with a wheelchair user. The staff could not have been more helpful and informative about how we'd manage in the local area and the wider city. The breakfast was basic but fantastic each morning, plenty of space for everyone. We got plenty of use out of the lovely rooftop bar too; it was a little slice of heaven after a busy day before heading out again for supper.
Nice hotel, good location
Very welcoming when checking in. Reception staff very helpful. I wanted a central hotel, not too corporate. Very friendly and would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was adequate.
Good value, nice location
Alessandro was a pleasure to meet at check-in. Hotel was within a 30 min walk of all the sites. Would definitely recommend.
A little small.
The bed was hard. Kind of hard to get to the window (bed too big for room). Bathroom was small. Needed more counter space.
Small boutique hotel close to the Pantheon.
Breakfast was wonderful and in the evening, sitting up on the rooftop bar having a cocktail was the perfect way to end the day.
Excellent hotel and perfect location !
Great Location, Friendly Staff, Great Breakfast
This hotel has been overall GREAT!! The location is perfect due to the close proximity to Rome's major sights. There is a good restaurant right around the corner, as well as, a grocery store. Breakfast is very filling. They have a buffet with pastries, eggs, bacon, yogurt, basically anything that can get your day of sightseeing started. A great restaurant that serves good food is Cafe Napoleon. We enjoyed their food and price was reasonable considering it's in a touristy area. This hotel is just awesome and I was so glad to reserve here. The room was outdated but you're really not in there much if your main reason to visit to be out and about most of the time. Definitely booking there again.
Great hotel at the perfect location !
i stayed in this hotel in 2007 & will also stay there 3 diffferent times on this trip ... the hotel is great ... the service, breakfast, WiFi are wonderful ... & the lady cation cannot be beat .... !
Good hotel in an excellent position
Good hotel near to the open top bus stop, shops, restaurants and the Pantheon. My second stay at this hotel which should say it all
Location is the only thing this place has
Rude staff, initially put in a room with no wifi service. Girl who first checked us in was great with recommendations and showing us the map. All men after that and none pleasant. We asked the guys at the front desk three different days for no service in our room And they came anyway. Literally walking distance from EVERYTHING and that's the only thing this place has going for it.
Central location
An excellent location in the old part of Rome - walked everywhere including to the Vatican. Staff wonderful especially Agnieszka in the rooftop bar. She could not have been more charming and helpful as well as informative. Breakfast was plentiful, good quality and range of foods.
Great Hotel
Perfectly positioned for all major sites of interest. And great experiance overall.
Nice hotel in central location
A nice hotel in walking distance of most of the sights.Ie St Peters Sq 20 mins away. Good friendly staff. excellent breakfast provided. However no facilities in room for tea/coffee, a weak point. Room was clean and had maid service every day. Well worth another visit.
Great location
Room was basic, beds a bit hard but not as hard as some places, however the location was perfect. Five minutes from the colluseum, pantheon and a few minutes more for the other major attractions, restaurants and other attractions. About 20-30 minutes from the Vatican. Although the location does mean a fair bit of traffic noise but can't hear if Windows are closed. Would still book again as the location outweighs the downpoints. I. Any case walked so far we slept well!
Everything possible on foot!
If you treat your room as base and don't expect 5 star luxury this is the hotel for you. Very central furthest main site the Vatican 30 minutes easy walk. Staff very friendly and breakfast a bonus cereal, fruit and danish pastries through to eggs and bacon.
The hotel's location is it's best selling point.
Rooms are quite small but acceptable for Rome, perhaps the lack of tea-making facilities may upset some but we didn't find it a problem. The bed was good but the pillows were far too soft. Also the sound proffing wasn't particularly good. Breakfast is well managed, tasty and includes a cooked option. The roof terrace was very pleasant but the bar downstairs seemed to be hidden away and not partuclarly appealing.
Hosianum Palace | Hotel in Rome | Travala.com
The lady was real grumpy, not friendly at all. I was showing her recipes for 2 rooms booked but she kept saying that i had booked only one room.
