Great property, very convenient

Dog friendly, had a unit beside a grassed area for toileting our boy. Unfortunately front unit on the main highway so traffic noise very loud even though the windows were double glazed. Very nice hosts, Donna couldn't have been more helpful.

Nice hotel with and a good check-in.

A good place to put your head down with comfortable beds and a little kitchen area. The shower was good. The parking was very good for our needs being two vehicles and a trailer plenty of room for security and fencing. The outside Area is all concrete so don’t expect a garden the rooms were very good. A little noise from the main road at night.

Single-glazed windows right on SH1 meant I could hear every truck throughout the night. Terrible sleep! Also, the walls were thin so I could also hear the snorer next door. The shower was terrible... I could go on. However, I find in these situations that the manager is not the owner, and so has no ability to upgrade the property. The owner takes their lease payments and the manager apologises on their behalf. The manager of this property was very efficient and friendly.

Family stay

The room was good and a central location.

Clean & tidy. It was in a good location. Room was tired and needed updating. Not keen on doing dishes in bathroom sink. Shower box very small. Wouldn't stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable with plenty of space for the family.

Great place, being a lite sleeper not tye best room to be in, nothing wrong with cindition, service or venue

The motel is very clean and tidy, it is convenient to the city but also to places around, the staff are friendly and helpful. the only minuses could be road noise if the unit is near the street, but it is not intrusive. The showers water supply and control could be improved. I was happy with my stay and have used this motel many times.

Good for a short stay in Timaru

Homestead Lodge Motel met our expectations for a comfortable stay in Timaru. Fair value for the price.

Nice place but a shame about the double bed was horrible major roll together nice and tidy rooms.

COMFORTABLE MOTEL

You have to call beforehand if you will arrive late since the Reception closes at night. They will give you instructions about your room no. and where to get the key. Overall it was a good stay and roomy enough for 3 people. I just wish though they'd put blackout curtains instead of vertical blinds since the glass facade is too big

Back motel less traffic noise. Didn't like the stairs as 3 year old kept going to the edge with a big drop off

Good budget motel

Good budget motel on main road so quite noisy. Didnt have huge expectations because it was cheap so pleasantly surprised.

There was alot of traffic noise . So pleased we were not in the room next to the road .We could hear the people in the next room very easily . The vertical blinds block out very little light

Very noisy road .inside the tap was licking and the single bed was old and to soft. The fridge was noisy.

Over all was fin the only thing was that I didn’t like the showers

Great budget motel - good clean room, very good w-fi, and a warm welcome. Maybe a little noisy during the evening being so close to the road. BUT I'd stay again, very good location for working in the region, very good vfm.

Rather run down - bathroom and toilet need to be fixed up and repainted

Nice motel

Accommodation comfortable although a bit tired and in need of an update but no complaints. 10min walk to centre which is a lovely walk with nice views of the bay.

Well located. Short drive to center of town. Ideal for an overnight stay.

Pleasant place to stay. Basic but comfortable but it was priced well and that was the key thing. Wall between my bedroom and next unit’s bedroom were thin as a man coughing in the next unit woke me in the night. But all in all a comfortable stay.

Accommodation fully equipped kitchen

My family of 5 stayed there for 1 night. We were all very impressed by the fully equipped kitchen. Everything in good order despite a little bit worn out. The rooms and beds were clean. Will get disappointed if one needs a good illuminated living room. The staff was nice. Check in and check out were done within a minute. Supermarkets were not far away and access was convenient.

Basic but clean

Very friendly staff/owners, but this motel is very outdated and not at all as it appeared online. It's also on the main road and the noise of trucks is loud. The owners did put me in a room further from the road, so they are aware of this issue and at least make an effort to make your stay easier.

Within walking distance of park and downtown. Good value for cost.

Warm rooms

The motel was a well kept one. The staff were lovely and the rooms were so comfortable and warm.

Ok but noisy

These motels are pretty dated but reception staff wonderful. Awake most of the night, no insulation between units or from the street noise.

the noise from the traffic going past on the road outside was terrible we might as well be sleeping on the footpath. the noise echoes around the buildings. the buildings need double glazed but looking at the age of them be better to be removed an new ones built. I would not stay there again in presence condition

Friendly place.

Timaru is a lovely place to visit. Homestead Lodge was close to everything we needed, walking distance to food outlets etc. The rooms were very clean and comfy.

Noisy

This motel is right on a busy highway with plenty of truck traffic at all hours.

Good enough to stay in, helpful when found lightbulb needed changing and if to channels all working.

The facilities were clean and tidy. The king size bed was comfortable and we have no complaints. Easy access and hassle free.

Great location good sized unit

The unit was everything we needed, clean tidy and gave us space for the whole family. Some of the mugs were super clean but nothing a quick clean didn't fix. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great Location

Clean (if not an older style decor), Motel well located to central township and a short walk from great eateries (Bay Hill) and Caroline Bay. Friendly welcome from Debbie who was very helpful and answered all our questions. Friendly cleaning staff. Rooms of older style decor but very clean and well presented. Perfect for our short stay in Timaru.

lovely place

This motel was close to the park and beach, it was easy walking to the town. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Lovely place close to everything!

Staff were very friendly and professional. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Beds really comfortable amd lovedcthe the pillows!! :)) Highly recommended amd great value for money. Not over priced compared to other places.

Outdated and misleading of 'free' wi-fi

The hotel itself and our room is dated and needs updating. Tiles were broken around the toilet and tv too small. On the Hotels.com website the hotel lists 'free wi-fi", however, that is misleading as the 'free' is limited and then you have to pay if you need more

Noise.noise. noise.

The bed was so well used every movement could be felt by the other. Being so close to the road it was very noisy. With no double glazing to reduce noise. Difficulty finding staff to pay in the morning.

Motel is located on a main highway so quite noisy . I had trouble operating the shower system. There were no instructions so I had to go without one - yuk!

We found it very good for an overnight stay as we passed through Timaru.

Comfortable but too much road noise

Arrived at about 8pm tired after a full day travelling (on the road at 6am) and ready for bed. We were welcomed warmly and checked in ok. We were given a good chunk of wifi data. Settled into the room and as unpacking noticed that we could hear every single vehicle that went past on the road. The hotel is off the State Highway in an urban area near the top of a rise so all night long we could hear trucks and cars changing gears as they got near the top of the slope. We could also hear the late arriving guest's cars and conversations as they arrived throughout the evening. I think I got about 3-4 hours sleep, and that was probably more due to me being absolutely knackered form the 14 hours driving. In hindsight we probably should have realised it was going to be noisy, but this was quite something else. Had I known the unit on offer was the one second in from the road I probably would have thought twice about booking it.

Room and amenities were good - just needed a coat of paint to freshen things up

Road Noise but GREAT bed.

The bed was great but the road noise was very hard to sleep. Kept thinking I had a window open. Shower was hard to work out.

Good with heat & condensation problems

Good service, well appointed(ish) and useful separate room for our kid. Main issue was freezing weather and 30 year old thermostat controlled wall based fan heater. We stayed warm but every time the thermostat kicked in the heater roared like a taxiing airplane and woke us up. In the morning condensation was running down the windows and some of the walls. Blinds over the windows rather than curtains didn't help.

Family Flat

We enjoyed our stay. Staying as a family with very small children our main concern was the child safety aspect. Upgrades possibly needed, child safety glass for main glass door, tv mounted and outside hand rail. Very tidy and had everything we needed.

Good for a family, excellent helpful staff but please please upgrade your shower heads. They only dribbled and made hard to have a shower. Same in other apartment that friends had.

We had the unit that was right on the street and the road noise was a definite problem for us. Also the shower unit was impossible to operate, a system I had never seen before. The taps on shower and handbasin were also difficult to turn especially when hands wet
