Nice hotel
Close to downtown without being in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Outdoor pool is not heated and kind of small, but was never busy. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
Perfect location- minutes away from everything somehow. Yummy continental breakfast with many options. Free, on-site parking was well lit; I felt comfortable (as a solo female) walking across at night. The room was spacious and clean. Would definitely stay in again!
The one condition I did not feel comfortable with is that on Saturday, March 1 there was so much noise we could not sleep. 11am . I called the front desk and I was told there was renovations going on on the floor above our room. The charge for that room should have been discounted or we given the option to have another room at the onset of reservation.
It was a quick drive or walk to the Alamodome.
Disappointed in San Antonio
The hotel is located in a sketchy part of town. I have no idea what view was used for the outside pictures. They were doing construction and we had loud banging on Friday afternoon and our shower didn’t work which made it very hard to get ready for an event that night. The banging and construction started at 657 in the morning on Saturday. It was awful. The one bed seemed like it had a hole in the middle of the mattress. When we checked out and I was asked about my stay, I gave the feedback above. The lady at the check out said, “Ok.” And that was it. (The breakfast was good!)
Essentials met!
SA rodeo with a friend. Comfy bed, quiet, hot shower and extensive hot breakfast. Everything I look for in a hotel.
Overall the hotel room was very nice. The parking lot however was VERY small and not large enough and didn’t have wide enough parking spaces. The area didn’t seem the safest, but not much you can do about that part.
Great place to stay only thing didn’t like was the loud screeching sound not sure where it was coming from heater/ac maybe
Here on business, good stop
THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND THE PROPERTY WAS VERY CLEAN, REGARDLESS OF THE HOMELESS HANGING OUT
Great experience.. staff exceptionally helpful.
I always like when I can change out my towels and be comfirtable with my whoke etay
The staff was so friendly and helpful!!
If I have to visit San Antonio again I will be coming back here for sure the place is clean and well kept.
Enjoyed my stay
Friendly staff
Toliets way to low!!
The bathroom toliet in 209 was so short I actually felt I was squatting outside in the woods. You HAVE to replace them so us tall folks can feel more comfortable. Also, construction 2 floors above us was going on until 6:30, new years eve. Sort of put a damper on the night.
Everyone was great and very helpful
We liked this property. Free parking and easy walk to the river walk. If you dont want to pay the high prices “on the river walk “ this is a great choice. We will stay here again
Room service was lacking,I asked for washcloths, and a handtowel,2 days later,I went to the front desk to get them and toilet paper which we also needed by then. The front desk staff ,however, was wonderful, helpful, courteous. One of the staff even offered me her own umbrella to use for the day.
Older property with doe street noise but good for the price. Free parking was nice.
San Antonio/ Thanksgiving
The check in and out was seamless. The staff where was friendly. Nice place
Excellent
All was excellent will stay again
Location location. Close to Riverwalk and Frost Bank Center.
I have stayed at this hotel many times before and have never had a problem. I got a King Suite this time and it was the worst room I have been in. Shower did not work. Headboard was stained. Just felt nasty.
Nicely
The elevator needs to get updated or add an additional one. I was stuck for about 2 minutes. Good thing cell service works in elevator and I had contact with my family.
i would never stay at this property again . they have bed bugs and i am all bite up. the front desk associate was horrible and she tried asking as if she was a manager.
FRONT DESK
Mary at the front desk was amazingly helpful. She povided directions, helpful information and accomodated my family.
Awesome, excellent stay!
It was an excellent location with excellent staff! Excellent breakfast!
Yes, it is clean!
Clean!
Great location!
Good stay
Convenient to Alamo dome. Loud people on 4th floor at middle of night time.3am
Clean and wonderful service
Location great! Service, food, a little small but nice hotel.
Mahesh and Leron were oustanding and so was you're night manager she was so knowledgeable said she'd been doing this for 30 years! Wonderful breakfast and friendly crew!
The property itself was amazing besides people that didn’t know how to park and the train that stopped in the middle of Commerce for a long time until I found a way around it. The bed was sunken inimthe middle so I haven’t really slept well all weekend. Staff was great, breakfast was great, property was great.
J
Easy to locate. Clean and friendly staff. A nice walking distance to Downtown.
No water
Dence, but could be better.
Stayed here for a business conference. Building is dated and therefore, rooms are dated. Carpet inside room was gross. Bathroom cleaning needs significant improvement. Bathroom fixtures also needs to be upgraded. Bed was okay. I was too tired to care about the comfort, but personally, it was below par as compared to other Holiday Inn Express' I've stayed at. One consistent thing was, breakfast and service during breakfast. Good selection of breakfast items and was well replenished. Decent location of hotel. It's 12 mins walking to the Henry B. Gonzalez convention centre. I would look for other places to stay at, but would do this if nothing else is available.
GREAT SERVICE
Good
Clean and convenient
the location was key and the security and amenities were great!!
Such nice folks
Over and above friendly staff!
The staff is very friendly, they greet you from the moment you come in and every time you head out. The only downside is that the rooms need some remodeling to be done and most of the buildings around the area look rundown and abandoned, which brings a lot of homeless being right outside the hotel making the place look unpleasant. Other than that everything else looks just like the pictures in yelp
Walking distance to the River Walk. We enjoyed our stay. The room was nice, clean, comfortable.
This was a good distance a way from the freeway but also perfect to walk to the river walk and Rivercenter
Staff was kind and welcoming. Expedia app showed checkout at 12 but it was actually 11. Staff was considerate and allowed us to do a late checkout.
It was amazing other than it did get hot at night. Unable to control temp.
All the employees were really nice and genuine. The guy who cleans at night always told us hello and to have a wonderful day. They definitely made our stay feel safe and comfortable.
Amazing staff!
The staff was AMAZING. The shower floor was broken it had a sticker covering it, I guess to keep water out of it. But other than that everything was great!
The staff were amazing at this facility but for the price the tub had huge soft spots to the point that it made us nervous felt that the floor would give out to room below us, there was huge spots of black mold all over the ceiling of the bathroom and the mini fridge and air conditioner did not get cold enough. Maintenance is definitely needed. If you are planning to walk to the river walk there is a sketchy area between there and the hotel and parking downtown is astronomically priced as in 25$ a hour!!!
Had a great night’s stay here. Check-in and check-out were both easy, The room Clean and well/appointed and The Breakfast Was Excellent with many choices. The only downside was the location, not in the best part of town, no restaurants near-by but with planning ahead would def stay here again
The entire staff was amazing!!!!!!!
There was only one trash bin in the whole room. The bed was horribly uncomfortable
I liked that it was convenient to the Riverwalk and downtown area. However, the pool area was smaller and not as clean. It was unusual to only see one elevator in the entire building..
Enjoyed our stay
Awesome
It was amazing had a great time with my wife and will recommend to my family and friends
Hot tub and pool needed a cleaning.
Awful customer service. Got misgendered 3x by front lady. Never again
My main issue is that the air was not working properly at the time of my arrival. I was unaware that it was not working right until we made it back to the hotel, for sleep that night. I called the front desk it took some time for them to send someone to check it out. I was offered a different room if he could not fix the problem. The guy did come and I'm not sure what he did but he was able to fix the problem. I will return if I come back to San Antonio again.
We had to call office twice to have our room cleaned. Pool was not cleaned so kids didn’t swim at all. Service was not the best!
We were with our kids, and around the hotel was some man's asking for money, and one of my kids was afraid to leave the hotel. Also, they forgot to put towels in 2 consecutives days, we had to call the front desk twice to bring us some towels and they took almost an hour to bring those to our room.
Great property there are a lot of homeless people but there all around that area!!
The parking lot and the pool were a little small, but other than that great place to stay
Staff was good Breakfast was good It was clean
Not a great location but price point was good for our reason to travel
I went there with my family and everyone liked it. I spend just one night there but that was so quiet and safe breakfast was good as well.
Our room was super nice and super clean. The workout room was very minimal. The pool was super small compared to what the picture look like. The worst part was the area around the hotel. Homeless people lined the sidewalk on the side of the building. I wouldn’t even let my teenagers go to the pool by themselves because of it.
Good price great location
Isaac and Jay at night were so very kind and helpful. Also the security gentleman in the parking lot was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good, fresh and not skimpy. The only thing was that in room 222 the mattress was worn in one spot and very noisy just rolling over. That would not keep me from staying there again.
Great stay everyone is friendly and breakfasts was good.
Lacked privacy
Nice hotel overall with excellent staff. Only was the design of the room didn’t allow for the bed door to close and the bathroom door wouldn’t lock unless you wiggled the doorknob while trying to lock it.
Great location
Location for graduation celebrated in Alamodome excellent. Bed, shower and breakfast excellent. Will stay there any time.
beds where not comfortable also the room had a mildew smell
Great staff, great room and great price!
Perfect for out of town overnight for concert at the Carver Center. Easy walking to dining and drinks. Quick drive to downtown and Riverwalk.
I liked the police presence, the easy parking and all of the friendly and professional staff.
Trespassing Transients
The problem, which was a major one was this location has an exterior city sidewalk that is right next to the rooms on one side of the hotel and all day and night long there were transients staying outside and during the night and they were loud. The noise level was unexceptionable from sundown until at least 4am nightly. In addition to the trespassing transient problem the parking lot and swimming pool are way too small. For the amount we paid during the stay I expected more.
Pleasant you lady at the desk
yes
Great place to rest your head.
Good option in San Antonio
The hotel is clean, well located, nice room and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
It’s “okay”
The hotel is in a part of town that seems undesirable just upon arrival. There are boarded homes across from the hotel & several homeless people staying outside of Maggot’s meat and produce store. My room was extremely hot when I first walked in & there was an odor in the room that was similar to the hallway. It was a dingy/moist smell. Carpets were dingy, windows were broken, and the overall cleanliness was truly just disappointing. Outside seemed run down and not well maintained as well. Police officers were there most of the day the first day I was there. Not sure what was going on. Positives: The lobby is nice enough, breakfast was included, & the front desk workers were all very nice as well as the staff! Close proximity to down town San Antonio. I don’t think I’d walk it based on the neighborhood but it’s a short 3-5 minute drive to down town. My suite had a kitchen area which included coffee, a microwave, sink and paper towels. There’s also a mini fridge. There was a seating/couch area on one side of the room with a tv which would be great if traveling with kids!! Pool is outside and looked well maintained/clean. They have onsite laundry for those wanting to do their laundry! Overall; it’s an okay stay & a good option.
Servrd our puripde fir the night
.
Very nice
Poor condition and hair all over not cleaned.
It’s close to downtown which is great and parking is easy!
Very Disappointing
I was so disappointed when my family and I arrived late at night to this hotel. The lobby didn't look inviting, but we were tired after travel, so we checked in. We had booked a 3-night stay based on the good reviews that I read, however, we quickly left to find another hotel after we got into our room. It smelled like smoke in the hallways on the first floor, there were stains on the carpet in our room, and the metal areas in the shower were extremely rusty. We felt like roaches might start crawling around if we got into bed. We didn't have a chance to look at much more, because we decided to leave.
The property is super attractive. 24 hour coffee/tea station (cops were inside at 9pm relaxing on their computers enjoying coffee). Large rooms for the family (we were in 312). The SHOWER. oh glorious pressure! Makes anybody forget the less than updated shower tub enclosure. Liquor store is super close by.
Good one, quiet and clean
A nice hotel but the surrounding neighborhood is very worn down.
Such an amazing hotel...totally recommend
Great time
Holiday Inn Express San Antonio Rivercenter Area by IHG | Hotel in San Antonio | Travala.com
At least 1 or more piece of each set of bedding was visibly dirty. We asked to replace a blanket and the hotel staff gave us a bed pad instead. The room didn't smell very good either. Not confident that the cleaning staff is doing even the bare minimum. In order to get to the river walk, you have to walk and risk being blocked by a stopped train (happened to us) with no easy way to go around without a very long walk to avoid it and the area has a lot of homeless people so not a safe idea to venture through side streets. The parking was awful as there isn't very much room and some parking spaces barely fit small cars so our SUV was nearly on the line on both sides. If it was free, I wouldn't stay here again.
