Cold shower with poor pressure. Even after letting the water run for almost 30 mins, it never warmed up . Also my truck was broken into in the parking lot

This location was chosen for us by a relative we were meeting for a birthday get together. Although it was a 10, the location was not close to our venues.

The beds were very comfortable. Rooms have plenty of space. Large bathroom countertop. Larger fridge. Many options for the breakfast. Great stay!

Decent Stay

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pillows are the ones that disappear as soon as you lay on them, but that's what most hotels are using. There was a good variety at the free breakfast and the staff that look after the breakfast were amazing - helpful and very friendly. A good location that's close to lots of shopping and restaurants. There is highway and train noise but it wasn't too bad. The elevators were a bit scary so i recommend using the smaller 3rd one.

Decent hotel for the price. Location was convenient.

Breakfast was simply but good. Had to go bags for us who had to dash off. Kinda in the middle of nowhere. We didn’t have a car so we had to Uber around - probably really convinent if you had a car though. Room itself was ok, some coffee cup stain on counters aka they didn’t clean…… shower was good but loud. Defintely an older property but for sure a good deal I think we paid $140 for 4 people 1 room 2 queen beds!

The immediate area is not conducive to walking to South Commons shopping area. Not a problem if you have a car. But area seems unsafe. The fact that they lock their front door overnight says something. It was cheap for a reason. Sufficient, but I won’t be coming back.

Fire detector keeps on going on and off. Breakfast was not that great of a selection. Coffee not good

Nice and quiet

This was a really nice place to stay, good beds, decent continental breakfast, and really quiet. The staff were super friendly and helpful, it is a little out of the way so expect some driving.

Awesome shopping area

Will definitely stay again. One of my favorite Edmonton hotels.

I saw a lot of excellent reviews with regard to this property. We didn’t think it was anything special. Our room needed maintenance. Holes in the walls of the bathroom where a towel bar once was. Pencil lines on the walls where new lighting was installed. The little stuff adds up.

Amazing hotel and beautiful room

Hotel staff were great, check in/out very smooth. Elevators had no posted service date placards and were very bouncy and very uncomfortable feeling. Tv had no rentals or internet access for Netflix or anything. Pool might have been open but hot tub was definitely not open (which we were not informed about) rooms themselves quite basic (no wet bar in a king) and the couch/living room area had no table nor tv even though clearly there was at some point. Good for sleeping and close access to stuff but not great as a useable location.

The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast was great! Definitely worth taking advantage of. The employees do a great job.

Good value for money

Had a cozy stay here. Superb location, within walking distance to several eateries. More dining and shopping options available if you have a car. Optimal amenities and services are available, including free parking and complimentary breakfast with quite a number of choices. But need a bit more work on the scrambled eggs.

Clean big rooms with comfortable beds and soft, fluffy towels. And a breakfast with lots of options!

The room and common areas were very clean, although some elements a little shabby/banged up (e.g., doors, walls). Completely functional room - hotel is somewhat awkwardly located under/adjacent to major roadway. It is a commuter hotel, not a destination.

Location worked for us as it was centrally located between the various places we needed to be. No food options nearby. Bedding was clean and room was so so mind you I think we were in a pet room so that may be why. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of parking available

A little hard to get to.

On my first day I noticed a small bug in the bathroom and removed it. Second day there were a couple in the shower that I found and removed those bugs too. I didn’t know where they were coming from but on day 3 I saw dozens in the window and some had made them inside. I went to ask that they move me which they did. The new room I did not use the shower until 4am the next day as I had to catch my flight and there was no hot water. Even after 5 minutes there was still no warm water in the shower. The bathroom sink was fine so I just decided to try the shower again and still cold water. I checked out and told the front desk who said maintenance will look at but I for sure will not stay here again. The staff is nice and friendly, but rooms are not satisfactory based on these examples I experienced

Convenient for South Edmonton Common

We stayed here for 3 nights and had no complaints! The breakfast was good with lots of options, the rooms were super clean and it’s a great location.

Everything was great. It's a great, easy location near shopping, restaurants, main roads and easy access to the Anthony Henday. Our room was very nice and had been renovated with new carpet and furnishings. The supplied soap, shampoo, cream etc dispensers were lovely and there were lots of towels. The hot tub was great and we were even able to stay past closing. The included breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and something for everyone. Highly recommend this place. I will definitely stay here again!

The bed was not comfortable and I the TV remote didn’t work properly and allow me to switch channels.

Really efficient check in despite being very busy. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable, I had the best nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. Excellent.

Hotel was clean, staff was attentive and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic! My only complaint is that a hotel that size shouldn’t have such a small pool/hot tub. But otherwise it was a great stay!

It was in a good location and was a nice hotel. The phone charging stations in the room didn’t work so they lend me a plug in.

Didn’t like that the elevators were wonky so to speak but everything else was great.

This place was good at first glance but got very bad. No support from customer service. Everyday constantly have break downs with the elevator. Always over heating and you never know when you'll get stuck. Some times all the elevators are down. So if your at the 6th floor get ready to walk with no accommodation from customer service. The place is filled with rowdy and rude people. Would i visit or recommend the place again???? Highly unlikely

Lots of people staying at the hotel weren't respectful. pool had garbage in it, hot tub wan't hot. too many people in and out too many times(we stayed close to back door). People talking until late at night at the hall way.

We got a warm welcome from the staff and the kitchen staff was so nice.

We arrived at the hotel our room was still being cleaned. Then they came up and gave us an upgraded room. Which was fine but we were put from the second floor to the sixth floor. The elevator was not working 😕 we tried to go up had to take the stairs. We were really not impressed to say the least.

The hotel is getting older, though the rooms have definitely been renovated recently enough. The big issue was the elevators not working. The hotel was to capacity and two of three elevators were unavailable. The cleaning staff was trying to use the same elevator as the guests which made for long waits and lines to get to the higher floors. I believe they had a repair person working on them when we left.

Only complaint was the elevators were super slow. The breakfast selections were great!

Wonderful staff. Rooms are about ready for a little refresh( nicked corners, bathroom grout, etc). Convenient location- close to shopping, restaurants, etc and to main roads to get around the city.

Holiday Inn Express South Common is our go to place and has been very nice and clean except our last visit. I wasn’t comfortable on the cleanliness of the pillow that I used. Doubting if it has been changed. The pillow case maybe?. I was smelly. It smells like a strong guy perfume or an old stock pillow? It’s was hard to describe. What I know is my pillow doesn’t smell good. It wasn’t clean smelling at all.
