Great services from staff all round. We felt well looked after. Due to the longer term stay we have been gifted laundry coins for free, very sweet of them. The buffet each morning offers a big variety of options and delicious. Room wasnt the biggest but facilities are good condition and roome is serviced each day. Overall we are happy customers.

I’ve stayed at many HIEs in China, and Dongzhimen was also excellent. The only problem is that this hotel is listed two times on Google maps; make sure you use the one that shows up as HIE parking.

A lot of call from front desk to come to reception for ‘issues’ that were not really problems. Really disturbed what was meant to be a quiet family stay.

Hotel was clean and fine. The AC was set between 22° C - 23.5° and I could not adjust any lower, which made for some uncomfortable moments while sleeping, getting ready, etc.

The TV picture quality was horrible on all channels. Breakfast was very bad. No bacon, omelets were just eggs with nothing inside. No yogurt to go with the fruits. Butter and jam were not available. Fruits not too fresh. They have done better 8n the past, but things were not so good this time

The hotel is clean and modern. Room is not big but has a efficient layout and tasteful decoration. The only problem was the temperature control didn't really regulate the temperature. It was warm but turning on the cool air seemed to make the room hotter. Breakfast was a good spread.

I loved their breakfast. So many delicious choices and they are open early enough. The room was comfortable and I enjoyed the view. The only problem I experienced was the slow wifi connection. Other than that, the hotel staff was very friendly and even spoke english.

We love the location of this holiday inn. With the best Beijing duck across the street and subway line within walking distance, the location is ideal. Breakfast is good and the rooms are well equipped.

The best part of the hotel was their front desk staff. They called some places on our behalf to see if they were open. They also let us do late check-out. 2 blocks away from Sanlitun so very close to where all the action is.

Also straight shot from the airport so quit convenient and a cheap cab ride, and cab drivers can find it! Will stay again next time for sure.

It's a long walk to the hotel from Dongzhimen subway station, especially having to pull a luggage bag along. Hotel is well decorated, room comfortable and air-conditioning works perfectly. Very comfortable bed.

Great Hotel

On arrival we received a complimentary beverage which was very welcoming. Coming from the US & being a visitor it was so relieving that the check in staff spoke great English! The only downside is that I had a non smoking room but the room smelled of smoke. Location has plenty of food nearby. There was no shuttle from the PEK airport so I had to take a taxi.

everything was excellent. Just check-in process was pain in the ass. you guys are too slow.

The hotel is very warm n welcoming. It has a bright atmosphere. The service counter all spoke basic English which assisted in booking taxis.

Convenient location, even if it's a bit far from the metro. It's a short walk to everything at Sanlitun. Nice buffet breakfast. The wifi could have been better.

A very good hotel

Breakfast is very good.

Comfortable and clean hotel. We had a pleasant 7 night stay. Only 2 areas that we felt could have been better - the wifi was weak and the aircon wasn’t working well so it was actually cooler with the windows open ! Otherwise it was value for money.

Simple accommodation, low price. Small room, cool in temperature, minimal services. Not that close to the subway. Gym has no free weights.

Surprisingly Great Hotel

Simple, Clean, and Comfortable. Centrally located and though I'm not a fan of the green accents in the room, that's splitting hairs. The rooms, beds, hotel in general is really nice. It's got a fantastic Peking Duck restaurant accross the street and a cute small bar in the hotel with really great bar staff.

Which Holiday Inn it is?

I wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn Deshengmen, but got this one in Dongzhimen. All those Chinese romanization words are sure confusing. JL.

Convenient location

We were there for just one night, but felt at home almost immediately we entered. The staff on the desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Great location, just 15 minutes walk to the airport express station.

Great great staff and close by everything

Staff was amazing, the language barrier was difficult times, but they did their best to communicate with us. Turbo, front reception speaks English very well. Anger, bellman/transportation helper, he speaks little English, but he is such a sweetheart. HIE really tries their best, so far, that hotel has been the cleanest and most updated facility we have been to. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Beijing. Just take a taxi wherever you go, and make sure the meter is running. But honestly, the taxi's are all very honest. They are not accustomed to receiving tips, but we tipped every driver we had and they were very grateful.

Great Value & Location

I would say that the reviews for this hotel are spot-on. This is a strong four-star hotel when you consider the value, location and sleep quality. I have numerous short trips planned for Beijing and will always consider this hotel first. The hotel is easy to get to. Simply take the airport train from Beijing airport until you get to Dongzhimen Station. The hotel is walking distance. I see numerous opinions relative to the walk to the train station. I show the walk to be eight tenths of a mile or 1.3 kilometers. The walk is pleasant, and you will pass numerous shops, bars and eateries along the way. The train station is next to Giza Mall and I would highly recommend one of the eateries therein. The hotel is in a working-class neighborhood near a convenience store, numerous restaurants and a few bars. The hotel surprised me. The lobby was five-star quality and I liked the back-yard’s waterfall, seating area and colorful lite bicycles. The check-in was quick, and the staff was professional. The workers in the hotel were friendly and courteous, the hotel was clean, and the only thing I longed for was an ice machine, but, truth to tell, this is abnormal in Beijing. I thought the rooms were exactly the size of a standard room that you would find in the United States. There are no views to speak of, but the windows opened, mosquito nets are attached. You are provided a hit water kettle, tea, coffee, nice quality towel and a comfortable bed. The internet was sub par

Excellent location! A short walk to the Airport Express, a short cab ride to many embassies and business addresses. Also a short walk to Gong Ti Stadium, one of the biggest entertainment/nightlife areas in Beijing. Clean rooms, good breakfast. The major disappointment is what they advertise as a gym really does not qualify as one. A few old treadmills.

The first room I got smelled of cigarette. A common problem in mainland China. But they arranged a nice room the next day.

We stayed 3 nights and everything was fine until the last night. We went out for dinner and when we came back our room smelled like cigarette smoke. It seemed to be coming in from the bathroom. I called the front desk. They said it was a non-smoking hotel but that someone in another room must be smoking and they said someone would come up to see. No one came. I called a second time since the smoke was still bad and a different person answered, they said they would send someone. No one came. In the end, we just kept the bathroom door closed since it was late and we were checking out the next morning. Hotel staff are not the most helpful here. I've stayed at other Holiday Inns in the city and they were run great.

Good location, 15 min walk to subway and airport express line. Room and breakfast were both very good. Staff was very professional and helpful with recommendations, communication with tour guide, making restaurant reservations, and generally making sure I was happy. Bartender in small bar makes excellent drinks, and played exclusively classic blues guitar music. Altogether a good value, which I can easily recommend.

Decent hotel

Good quality hotel for China. I live in China and I've stayed in over 100 hotels. This is one of the better ones. The local area is quite Western (it's close to the embassy region) so there are plenty of home comforts. The hotel is clean and efficient. My only criticism is the amount of prostitutes in the area - all the massage places nearby are brothels, are there are prostitutes hanging around the entrance and lobby. Apart from that, I can't complain.

A great stay!

I was offered a luggage cart as soon as I exited the taxi on arrival; check-in was quick & smooth and the staff was friendly; the room was cozy but comfortable & clean; the bed was very comfortable; the shower was hot with good pressure; there was ample food for breakfast ~ more Asian dishes than Western ones, but I was in Asia after all; check-out was a breeze & the young fellow at the hotel door found & had a taxi waiting for me as soon as I was checked-out! The only thing that would have made my stay a wee bit better would be if there were a mini fridge in the room.

The Hotel.com mentioned that the hotel provides shuttle bus to DongZhiMen subway station. Actually the service is provided within a narrow time window in the morning, Monday to Friday. I could not use this service.

Perfect hotel stay for my needs.

I had a one night stay over in Beijing before flying home. This hotel is in the city but directly accessible from and to the airport. It met my needs in every way. Was clean and modern and comfortable. I met friends for dinner at Peking Duck restaurant across the street and we went to an "American style" brew pub just a block away after. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff tried to charged us extra when we got there adn when we were going to check out we ask them to call us a taxi to the airport but they didn’t do until we asked 3 more time and thier english is really bad.

Nice hotel in residential area.

The Holiday Inn Express is a great place - unless you want to feel as though you are in China. Staying at a 'western' hotel takes away some of the fun of being in China! The hotel is frequented by both 'westerners' and 'locals' alike with a higher proportion of business people that tourists I would expect. The hotel has a great breakfast and there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Room was very comfortable and clean. Ample tv stations from around the world in many languages. The neighbourhood is a distinctly more western neighbourhood than many being in the "embassy" area of town....there are many foreigners living in this area. Shopping mall with more restaurants down the street. Two subway stops are each a 18-20 min walk, so not bad but not overly convenient. There is a new station being built that'll likely cut that walk in half. DiDi (Chinese Uber) and taxi's are ultra convenient - but traffic can be a nightmare. The airport express is easily accessible providing you are ok walking the 20 mins from the station with luggage - one could likely take a taxi. The hotel does have a shuttle to the subway and surrounding business buildings which runs in the morning.

Excellent service, poor WiFI, room temperature

Room had universal wall outlet, which is nice - you do not need to use adapters for your devices. Room is neither small nor large, adequate for two people. Had a very hard time connecting to WiFi on the 9th floor - took me an hour of rebooting, and disabling and enabling WiFi before it finally connected. Even after connecting, the receive speed was no more than 40-50 Kbps, - so slow as to be practically useless. If you plan on doing anything on the Internet during your stay, this hotel is not for you. The bed was very comfortable. The room was sweltering at 80 degrees even though the AC was on all the time. No amount of turning down the temperature did any good. As a result, you are drenched in sweat the moment you get out of the shower.. Breakfast buffet is very good - lots of cold and hot choices. Location is not the most convenient - it is 20 minutes by walk to the nearest subway station (Dongzhimen). The front desk is very very helpful and courteous.

Close to the event place

Room wasn't ready on my almost 3pm arrival, therefore, had to wait until they finished room cleaning. Otherwise everything was perfect for the price I paid.
