Would give 5 but the pool was always cold!

Request a baby crib had to call for one and bath room walls were dirty had black spots on the walls and the hockey team were super noisy the pool and breakfast was nice

Direct drive to mall. It is close to familiar eating locations. Breakfast and coffee facilities are nice.

Friendly staff

Good: It was walking distance to the hospital and restaurants, yukyuk’s and a sports bar attached. Disappointing: Low quality toiletries locked down. Old swimming pool was clad in abrasive anti-slip coating, received a few abrasions. I watched a staff member test the water quality but it was cloudy. No other swimmers. No glassware available upon request (for funeral scotch), low quality plastic cutlery, glasses, etc. No USB adapters. Although a bathtub was pictured in the quoted rate, it was excluded at the hotel.

Hayley at the reception desk made my day both nights I was at the hotel. It’s awesome to see passionate people at work. Thanks for the hospitality and great service

I had a great experience at this Holiday Inn Express. The rooms have been recently renovated and we’re very clean. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. I usually don’t expect much from a free breakfast, but there were a ton of hot and delicious options (omelettes, bacon, sausage, pancakes). Parking was also a breeze. Would definitely stay again

Staff were friendly and professional. Tea and coffee bar availability. Good selection for breakfast! Room clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel

We had a great stay, my only complaint is the pool was not swimmable it was freezing and I mean FREEZING the room it was in was not insulated. We booked this hotel so our kids could swim so that is my only issue. Everything else was spotless and great staff, just wish they had notified us the pool is not useable in the winter.

Oshawa doesn’t have many higher end hotels. This is as “higher end” as you’re going to get. It’s a very good hotel

The place was dirty, pull out sifa the springs popping out . The pool extremely could my guess 55⁰ F Couldn't have the kids fo in it very disappointing.... Will never stay there again.....

Exactly what we needed for one night due to an out-of-town family event. Basic amenities for a reasonable price. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

You can't walk down to the basement from the front desk....only the elevator. When its check-out time, its brutal as there is only one elevator.

Second time staying here will do it again!

Very clean hotel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. On site coffee all day and breakfast in the mornings. We came for a concert and only took us 8 min walk to get there.

Traditionally we stay at Holiday Inn establishments when travelling. This was below our normal expectations. Shower curtains ripped, stain on duvet, a/c in the room that made weird noises every time it started or turned off.

Great hotel BUT…no USB charging in the rooms?

This is a good hotel. Secure underground parking. The only issue I have is, given that in today’s world everyone has an electric device that needs charging, this hotel does NOT have USB charging in the rooms. They also do not have chargers to loan or buy. I’ve been to budget hotels that offer more for the business travellers. That’s a big issue, especially if your phone is dead and no place close by to obtain a charger and cord.

Very nice property that was clean and updated. Breakfast was very good and well maintained by staff. Part of the town to the south that we drove through was a little concerning with homeless and area rundown businesses but once we reached hotel it seemed to be secure and had no issues. Would stay again

The elevator broke (with people stuck in it) during the stay. Other than that, no issues, and Oshawa Fire had them out fairly quickly. Sucks taking the stairs but at least you don't get stuck!

The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy. The staff are amazingly friendly and efficient.

The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious (warm from the oven cinnamon rolls!!!) The room was very clean.

We were a group there for a wedding. Although we weren't on the same floor we could spend time together in common areas. It seemed effortless.

Downtown, good for family

Location was good, right downtown Ottawa, near highway 401. Restaurants and others were walkable. Breakfast was those standard fares but hot, staff were patient and friendly. The sound proof of the room was weak though. We could hear people passing by the corridor and talking, late at night. Swimming pool was tiny, just good enough for kids. The hotel lobby was locked after 10pm and one would need the hotel card to go in/out.

Rooms are big and clean

We were there for sports and wouldn’t go back. The hotel is nice but not nice enough to make up for the surrounding area.

We stayed here for a Lacrosse tournament last week. The staff were friendly except for one person at the reception who I contacted to provide extra towels to the room and was told there is not enough staff and there were a lot of people checking in so I need to come down and pick them up! I went to the lobby approximately 3 minutes later and found the entire lobby empty!! Despite paying $1600 for a three night stay in an executive suite I had to go down and get my own towels as housekeeping were unable to attend that day because we wanted our room cleaned at 4pm and they were finished for the day! The bathroom was not clean and some of the towels had stains on them, the breakfast was not the healthiest, there was not enough lighting in the bathroom, the swimming pool was filthy and I cannot see myself or my family returning to this hotel next year. Despite the majority of the staff being friendly and warm I cannot recommend the hotel to my family and friends.

Unfriendly staff

Kids running up n down the hallways all night and the room I was in had a door bell not just a gental door bell a loud fire alarm n kids kept on deliberately ringing the doorbell. Why would a room have a doorbell to begin with? Never again !! I do not recommend this hotel.

Some of the furniture was worn out/dated. You can tell it's quite aged (chips on tables, worn out fabric etc.) Beds were in good condition however. Disappointed that for a girls trip (group of 5) we were placed in a connecting room to a family with a young baby. We were kept up late and early in the morning due to the crying. I think if the systems weren't down it would have been considerate of the staff to not place us there. Walls are severely thin especially with a connecting door. I'm sure we were not super quiet for them either.

Pool is small. With limited to no seating available for parents watching their kids swim. Booked through Expedia. Upon arrival, room we had booked was not available. Waiting on partial credit or refund. Staff was friendly.

Good hotel in a not so great neighbourhood. Front desk staff were super! Hotel overall is good and everything works. Breakfast was good too.

Hotel is great but area around in rough shape

Very clean

Check in was fine, but when we got back to hotel around 10:30pm there were about 50-60 young kids running around right in front of the doors and parking lot, with the parents camped out on lawn chairs blocking half the parking lot. Looked almost like a tailgate. My wife and I didn't even bother to stay. Wish I could just get my money back, honestly.

Nice one night stay after a long drive. The hotel was clean, quiet, and convenient. There were several homeless in the area, but the hotel was safe and secure with a protected parking garage.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The space was very clean loved the space in the wheelchair accessible room. The only critique is - why does not the facility of the room not have USB plugs to charge your mobile? We got by sure. But a basic infrastructure missing in the electricals in relatively new building....its big oversight and EASY to fix.

Easy to get to and a quick stop over on our trip. Clean, quiet and bed was comfortable. Location was ideal as close to the highway but no highway noise. Quick check in and we welcomed a good nights sleep after a long day of driving.

Bed bugs be aware

I was bit by bed bugs on the last day of my stay. Have many bug bits on my both hands. I didn’t realise they were bits as they appear all of a sudden in the morning. I have stayed their before and I won’t be staying their again.

I was surprised about the fact that I HAD to book 2 nights when we really only wanted to book one as we go down to visit family for the day before and after. My daughter had to miss school because we only had the option to book 2 nights. Always great experience with staff and breakfast. The pull out couch was broken in spots that made it very uncomfortable to sit on and not safe. Not the staffs fault but there was a team of some sort there and they were very noisy late at night keeping everyone awake in our room.
