Great place! Will stay again
i loved the fact i could walk everywhere, that was great. Everyone was friendly. The fact that you couldn't get to the rooms without a room key(loved that) What i didnt like was the price we had to pay for the parking and the rooms were small.
Great location
Lacking expected standard amenities for a mid-range hotel - no disposable slippers, toothbrush/toothpaste (later provided after commenting to hotel mgmt). No spare hand soap. On the positive side, good location, good diner (Daily Feast), mall and stores are close by, Easy transport is accessible.
The staff in this hotel was very friendly and helpful, especially the vallet staff. They were very polite and time efficient.
A/C didn’t really work
Service was good
I really wanted to like this place because the staff were incredible individuals and super sweet. However, the place is run down. It’s old, dirty, and hasn’t been updated for years. You can tell by the bathroom with the ceiling paint coming off. For a place like the Hilton, I expected more.
Nice
Valet parking was great. Check in and check out was fast and easy. They did not add any extra charges like other hotels do.
The limited parking was stressful
The hotel was very clean, everyone was polite. This is in a great location, there are several things to do within walking distance.
Welcoming staff and very comfortable stay
Clean and modern.
my room didn’t come with soap, just an empty box with a deodorant lid shoved into it. we went to the front desk and asked for soap and they said they didn’t have any but would bring some to our room later. that didn’t happen, probably because there was simultaneously a literal trash fire on the 6th floor and everyone was changing rooms to other floors at almost 1am. still, would have been nice to have handsoap in the bathroom. other thoughts: looks lovely when you walk in, don’t go get ice unless you really want/need it because the room is filthy (at least on the 4th floor) and will totally kill the vacation mood. bed was comfortable and television was gigantic if those things are desirable— next time i’ll book elsewhere cause i’d rather have a fridge and a real bathroom door (not a pocket door) plus somewhere that’s hopefully cleaner! oh and lol the valet said he couldn’t park our car if it was a stickshift…lucky day we rented an automatic but seems like that’s not ideal for valet purposes!!!
Great experience
reasonably priced hotel with the best amenities to offer
very good experience
Expedia showed pictures of our room that were not correct. The hotel would not allow us to cancel our reservation. In addition to parking was offsite because we did not want to pay $50 for valet. I parked in a lot around the corner for $20. For the price, you’re much better off, finding another hotel in the area.
Felt like very dirty and not good
This gem is nestled in downtown Portland just steps from pioneer courthouse square
It was available and affordable.
Great location, excellent service and very clean
Excellent stay.
Good property, conveniently located to shopping & restaurants!
This was a nice place to stay for my first vacation! :)
Great stay
The bed absolutely awesome. I did not want to leave!
Good but tiny
It was nice but the rooms are kinda outdated and tiny.
Everyone was perfect! Will for sure stay there again.
The valet parking was unusable. Waited 20 minutes at the curb side with everyone else. The poor valet attendants are just scrambling and stressed out. We ended up parking across the street. The hotel overall is quite old.
Wonderful location and great staff.
Rooms were a little on the smaller side, paint in the shower was chipping a little on the ceiling and the heater made a weird noise all night. Other than that we had a great time exploring the city. Overall the staff were kind and Ashley the bartender was great, friendly, and very helpful.
very good
Terrible Service Hotel Front Desk manager Ethan.
This hotel charged me for a stay that I didn't compete. I tried three times to call the hotel and cancel my reservation and couldn't reach a human being. After they charged me for the stay that didn't happen I called and asked the management to credit the cost to another nights stay, and they wouldn't. The hotel front desk manager in Portland, Ethan, would not work with me at all to find some way to make this work. Terrible, terrible. terrible. Ethan, the front desk manger at Hilton, your sevice was terrible
Wish it had parking for tenants, ended up spending almost $100 in nearby parking towers for only a 3 night stay. Food is overpriced for the low quality and it is too difficult to get around the building itself with all the construction.
Quick and easy check in needed to get a hotel in Portland pretty last minute and they were able to help me
They nickel and dime you in every single way possible. MANDATORY valet is $55. The restaurant downstairs charges $8 for a small box of milk and a measuring cup of cereal. The rest of the food is similarly overpriced, and is extremely poor quality. It is ridiculous what they charge for everything. You can breath the hotel air for free, but damn near anything else you’ll see on your final bill. Make sure to wave the deposit goodbye.
The valet was horrible. They hit my truck and it has been a hassle to get in contact.
Bathrooms are outdated toilet tissue is a one ply. This looks like an old hotel they tried to update. No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms
Valet parking was not available. We booked the hotel for our SMACNA Christmas party so we wanted to stay after and not drive home to Salem, over an hour drive. The valet driver directed us to the sister hotel DUNLAP and we did get parking, but that is not what we wanted. The staff were kind and professional. They are also severly understaffed, which is not their fault, from the servers *the bar tender was doing the bar, the hot coco bar and anything else. The servers were wonderful. The bartender really was working hard. The poor valet guy was only one person, with over a 100 guests that wanted to be parked. We did love our room on the 21st floor the view was great. The room itself was small but functional. The location is great near the theatre and other things. Just need adequate amount of staff to do the work. Great job to the staff but not to the management. We will not be staying here again, this is year two and same issues from the last stay.
Hotel is lovely, very modern and feels elegant. They keep it very clean and staffed well. Restaurants had limited hours, but we chose to walk to other locations for more variety. We called for early check in but learned you cannot be guaranteed this up until about 1pm the day of your stay. They were able to accommodate us at 2pm for an early check in. Check in was easy and front desk was super polite. We had requested a high floor when we booked the hotel, but ended up on the 4th floor. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, but the room wouldn’t cool below 71 degrees. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Checkout is 12pm so we were looking forward to a slow morning to wake up and not feel rushed out the door. Before 930am housekeeping came down the hall knocking on all the doors and shouting “housekeeping” then proceeded to open our door while we were in the room. Luckily we had the door latch on, but this was incredibly inappropriate, disruptive, and violating to have staff walk in on you. Never in my life have I had this happen. She apologized and then asked if we were done yet. We quickly packed up and left after that. We used the valet for 55/day. They park onsite. When they brought us our car for checkout it had a noticeable marijuana smell inside. Not sure if this was lingering scent from a valet driver or someone smoked near it and trapped the scent inside.
Very clean, nice rooms. Close to a lot of venues
Very good
I think this is the only place I've stayed where there was no mini fridge or microwave. That's the only complaint. I probably won't be back.
It was close to the venue that I was at the other night
The hotel has 1 restaurant that serves the same food for lunch and dinner and it's not a large menu. The hours are inconvenient as well. The hotel rooms were on the smaller side compared to other Hilton Properties. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Staff was amazing.
Good property location
We really liked that the Hilton was close to many restaurants, apparel, shopping mall, bars, and coffee shops. It was conveniently located next to popular places. The property itself was very nice and smelled nice in the lobby. The staff was wonderful, especially Eric and Ashley. Thank you Hilton Portland for a great experience.
Highly recommend ! If you have a Hilton honors membership , you’ll be able to get digital key access, etc.. (it’s free to sign up) . The gym was definitely better than I’ve expected !! Although breakfast & room service is not included, the bar/restaurant was definitely worth it especially if you didn’t want to drive/walk anywhere !
Had to change room three times due to heater not working. Got charged twice for something I wasn’t to be charged for. No real answers given, staff was nice and tried to help but this building and how it’s handled need major upgrade.
I was disappointed that room I reserved was not what I got. I reserved a 2 bed with a couch corner room. I got a ‘city’ view, 2 beds, no couch, no refrigerator room. It was not enough space for 3 people. The location is awesome with easy access to shopping, parking (garages close at 11pm), and public transportation. The hotel is locked down to keep the many homeless from entering. The food on site is very good and better than an average hotel kitchen. The service staff changed sheets and towels daily without requests (very nice). The staff is welcoming and friendly always inquiring on your daily plans and feeling genuine. Gym amenities were better than average and very clean. Overall the hotel was quiet and clean. The holiday decor was on display and very well done.
Great stay
Lobby smelt amazing, valet parking was super convenient and the staff was super helpful! The rooms were beautiful and the water pressure was lovely. Super overall amazing experience
Very nice
This location is the center of everything. Restaurants, coffee shop and shopping centers. The staff are nice and friendly. Room is a bit small but clean and comfortable.
The room didnt have a mini fridge which made my birthday plans more expensive and wasnt able to have cold drinks on hand, ice bucket was way too small for what i needed. Definitely put a damper on things but we made due. Besides that it was a beautiful room and was clean.
Very nice hotel, felt very safe at a downtown location, view is amazing !!!
The valet was a little hard to find. Amazing staff and new people to interact with!
Great location to see a show at the Arlene Schnitzer Theatre. Very polite and efficient staff. Met all expectations.
Best conference stay!
Great, comfy bed, lovely city view, excellent restaurant, and stellar conference facilities.
Overall it was great. The only downside was how to get a decent cup of coffee in the morning?! I had room service for breakfast, but there was NO OPTION for coffee! We had in room, but yuck. When i ordered breakfast under beverage there was no coffee! We're Portland! Where is the coffee with real 1// 1/2?
Check in staff not really friendly
Nice place, good breakfast.
We were told the place had parking, but they did not tell us it’s valet and $55 a night until the day we arrived, We waited over an hour for valet, called the front desk 4 times asking where Valet was, only for them each time, tell us they were coming out. After going in and speaking to the manager he explained there’s no way we’ve been waiting that long and walked me directly to the man running valet, who was sitting on his phone ignoring the line in front of the hotel. The room noise was a joke, we had to listen to a parking garage across the streets alarm go off all night and the walls were paper thin as we could hear everyone in the rooms around us. The bathroom was dirty and falling apart in places, like the main bathroom door. There was a gala happening the same night we arrived and it was evident the staff forgot or straight up just understaffed, as the front desk only ever had one person working and you could tell was stressed out with the constant line they had.
It was a nice hotel with a really nice view
Perfect location for downtown
We had a very nice stay. Great staff and site.
Centrally located property within walking distance of major attractions and dining options. Property was well maintained. But there is transient population that is nowadays expected of most downtown areas, not hotels faults
Wonderful stay in downtown Portland able to walk everywhere.
Appreciated the staff checking us in before 4pm and quickly. Hotel was clean and nice bar at the lobby. Wish the rooms were a little more spacious. I gave it a 4 star because we checked out on a Sunday morning and to get our car from valet took 1 hour because they had only 1 person in valet to park and cars and to bring it out. It’s a Sunday, why would you have only 1 valet person? So many people are checking out on a Sunday and there was a concert and wedding the night before. They could’ve been more prepared with that.
They have kept it in great condition. It could use a few modern upgrades in the room.
It needs a Major Renovation! Pictures online is unreal.
Comfortable stay and good food.
Nice location
Overall this hotel was very nice, clean, and is a comfortable stay. My only complaint is their staff. One of the women at the front desk isn’t very friendly and comes off as annoyed when asked a question. Also, one of the valet guys is very rude. We had a rental car that had a specific way of turning on, which we had mentioned to 3 people of their staff prior and they said that they had made a note. Even still, the morning after our first night there, we asked valet for our car and they said that they couldn’t turn it on. We had to go down to the garage valet and get our car ourselves. On the day we were leaving the rude valet man tried to tell us that our car battery died, and had been out since 10pm the night before. Per the hotel they had no other parking beside the garage valet parking which cost us $55 a night, just for him to tell us they had our car out on the side of the street. We explained that he probably just did not know how to turn it on. He continued to be rude and said no we were wrong and our battery was dead. We asked him for our keys and were able to turn on the car.
Expect your car to get bird poop all over it if you don’t valet
Great experience
Good service and the room was nice, clean, and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and how it was close to the Portland Marathon start line so I could walk there and then walk back for a nice hot shower afterwards. They even extended my checkout at no charge.
Your rooms are small but nice and because i was in service industry i noticed that you could use some repairs and updates. Your establishment could use better signs for your breakfast area and your staff in that area could have greeted me upon entering the restaurant area.
I believe I was charged for requesting a mini fridge in my room.
The hotel was nice, and the restaurant and bar were very good. The rooms were clean although a bit cramped. Overall it was a fine stay.
The Hilton Downtown Portland was in a great location close to public transit, restaurants, shopping, the waterfront, etc. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly.
Staff was excellent, especially the Bellhop. He helped a lot when we arrived before check in and then the next day when checking out he struck up a conversation asking about specific things I mentioned the day before. Great customer service. Stayed 10/5/2024
Loved the price and the location, but the condition of the building and services could be better. The lock on my door never worked right. After four trips to the front desk, we reached a mostly acceptable solution but every return to my door was an adventure. (To be fair, the front desk eventually offered to swap rooms. I thought about it but declined because I'd unpacked for a week.) Also, the shower gel ran out on day two and was never replaced despite notes pointing to the empty bottle and a call to housekeeping. For the price and location, I'd stay there again but would be prepared for less than perfect services.
I think the breakfast station was a little misleading. I paid $25 for fruit & cheese. My last stay at Hilton the breakfast was complimentary.
We came to downtown to see a show and stay overnight. The Hilton was the perfect spot to arrive early, shop, have dinner and walk to the shop. The front desk made arrival quick and easy. The next morning breakfast buffet was delicious but slow to refill. We would stay again.
When I arrived the restaurant was closed. During a break from our conference at 11 am I went to purchase a drink from the market and it was closed from 11 am - 11:45 am.
We had issues with our keys. But Nathan took care of everything. He is such an amazing person. Thanks…. We got free parking lol instead of paying $55 per night.
There were two shampoo bottles but no body soap. The lightbulb was old and kept flickering for a long time. Other than that, it was a comfortable room worth the price.
It was great
We waited for an hour for someone to valet our vehicle. No one came to communicate the issue.
Staff was helpful. However, the rooms were small and cramped, no mini fridge and no business center. I expect more from a downtown Hilton.
Great location. Within walking distance of a lot of Portland must sees
I have stayed here before. Fortunately, the homeless situation appears better now. My complaint is primarily about the elevator and stairs. There was a long line waiting to use the elevators which evidently weren't working. I decided to take the stairs up to the 8th floor since it was late. Even with the help of hotel staff, we couldn't locate any stairs that I could take up to 8th floor. You need to practice a fire drill.
Thr property was very and clean. The people at the front desk were very kind and friendly.
Great hotel. Great bar. Friendly staff.
Great location, clean, and felt safe
Expect to pay $55 a night for parking at the place you are already paying $150 a night to stay. Room's basic, TV entertainment basic. I expected more for a hotel that is as well know by it's name. Room walls are paper thin, people drunk and arguing, cops call. Not worth it and didn't live up to my expectations.
Loved the e area but very dirty
