We stayed one night in a Grand Vacation room - which was average - before our planned stay at the Crane Resort side - which was amazing. The Grand Vacation side room was not as pictured. The plunge pool was not right outside our terrace as pictured. Perhaps we were given a different room than I reserved but no use complaining for only 1 night. There was no way to communicate directly with the hotel in advance! Had to go through expedia customer service for everything and they did not understand the Crane's policies so I spent hours on hold and with agents. All we wanted was to simply change our dates and shift our same night stay to arrive one day earlier. Could not be achieved so had to stay 1 night at HGV and this room was small and quite dated. Overlooked a bunch of tropical plants and a pool that needed service and cleaning for the room below us. Next time we will stay at the Crane Resort in one of their newer buildings currently under construction. Those 2 BR suites are incredible. We enjoyed our stay on that side immensely. Note that the cost to go into Bridgetown from here will cost you $90 USD round trip for a fam of 4 at this time. Property is beautiful enough to stay put, though. Some of the dining options on property were way over-priced (Japanese restaurant in particular). We would come back but would not stay in a Hilton GV room.
The resort was soooo beautiful and amazing!!! All the staff were also very friendly, courteous and helpful beginning at the day we arrived. I also sprained my left foot on our second day and the staffs were readily available to help provide, ice, ace wrap and wheelchair and followed up how I was that night. It was everything we expected it to be and more! My husband was especially elated that his 60th birthday celebration was one of the most memorable.
The property was lovely. Staff was just ok. Lots of waiting. Not friendly. Food never came for one lunch at The Grove
Truly superb and on one of best beaches in the world! Definitely be staying again.
Clean and comfortable. Poor TV service, selection of channels. Over half the window shutters did not work.swimming pool on roof great but not sure if I will stay there again
The resort on the ocean was exhilarating!
Good location if you are looking for an East coast property in Barbados. The service was pretty average though.
It was the first time that I have had issues with this property. My room was not ready and when I finally was able to go to the room it still wasn't ready. The pationarea was not clean either.
Lovely ❤️
First time ever that Inhave had issues staying here.
We arrived at 1pm and were treated rudely as checkin is at 4pm. Instead of telling us they could hold our luggage and all the things we could do while waiting we got nothing. Additionally we later found out a welcome rum punch was customary and we were not offered that either. We came back at 4pm and our room was still not ready. Eventually we were allowed to checkin after waiting over 3hrs and it was after 4pm. We tried to book dining while waiting to checkin and nothing was available at any of the restaurants. Towel sheds had no towels. Overall the resort is very beautiful and historic but the customer service was horrible at the welcome.
Nice but needs improvement
Clean, well kept hotel. Didn't get to experience it fully as we were there for 1 night only. But the front staff could be greatly improved - not very friendly, kept mispronouncing my name and laughed it off, the staff who checked me in asked a few times what was my room number etc etc.
My stay was wonderful. I will definitely stay there again.
We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a lovely retreat. Our too had a private rooftop pool with on outside grill for entertaining. It was a welcome getaway for quiet solitude to spend our first days together as husband and wife. Would definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for that extra special private experience.
Unbelievable views! Great beach, lovely rooms. Wish we had come for our honeymoon. We will be back again. Only issue, this is not really hotel related, the frogs. When it gets dark the frogs getting to croaking and they are loud. If you come to Barbados, bring ear plugs to sleep. Other than that, this is an exceptional-one of a kind resort that is just amazing.
Thank you staff for wonderful check in process and complimentary fruit punch . The room was very comfortable and well cleaned . Well property !!!
Nice Resort, good, courteous and helpful staff.
Old property, but very well maintained. Cute , beautiful lush scenery. Staff was great! Amil was a really great staff person, told us where to visit! The Crane will be on my short list again when I come back to Barbados
breakfast was served at one restaurant beach was beautiful staff very attentive to guest questions and handled problems promptly
Home away from home
It’s very spacious
The history and the maintenance of the resort. Don't like-needs to be dining options.
I love the hotel room. Hot tub, kitchen and balcony. Nice dinning area.
GORGEOUS VIEWS AND PROPERTY 😍
Ryesha was excellent. Her welcome was brilliant. Polite with a lovely smile. It was my birthday and she surprised me with an upgrade. The room was beautiful. The Crane is a great place to stay on the island. Will most definitely stay here again.
Many noise from the crickets at night, did not let me sleep. An unbelievable/indescribable amount of noise.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant, crystal and all the front desk clerks
The HGV at the Crane was a pleasant stay. People were friendly and I felt safe.
A very lovely property!
Decent but restaurants shut really early.
Comfortable large rooms but why are all the restaurants shut by 830pm?
Very many trees over all a great place
The staff was very friendly and professional!
The hotel exceeded our expectations. Very clean spacious suite with a private pool. It's like home away from home on a beautiful island. The hotel area with exotic flowers and palm trees, beach, grocery store, coffee shop, restaurants are perfect for a relaxing time and unforgettable stay. All hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Rashede Hope, Ryan Jack, Roseann Bryan, Corey Gracette and Latoya who went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Fantastic job! We enjoyed every minute of our vacation. I definetely would recommend this hotel to friends and family and can"t wait to return to the Crane hotel and the beautiful island of Barbados.
Beautiful property.
My quick stay here was an excellent experience! ALL staff are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Not to mention, the resort is breathtaking. I was truly amazed at the quality of my room. Looking forward to returning soon.
Our room was not cooling as much as we liked, saying that the staff jumped in and moved us to a new room and attended to our every need. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the staff!!!!!
The most hospitable hotel we have ever stayed in. Clean, comfortable, spacious and has everything we needed.
On point
Unkept and outdated Place was a ghost town
Our room was lovely with the exception of the lack of hot water or no water our last two days. The food in the restaurants was average with no seasoning and the service was not up to my standards. Very slow or non-existent. Also extremely expensive! Be prepared!!
Room included a private garden with a pool. It is not really private as the two upper floors have windows looking down into the garden. The private pool was dirty (with mold) - did not dare enter the water. The same for the small circular "whirlpool" - the water was filthy and there was no on/off switch for the water jets (thus it was not the advertised spa). The garden is a joke. Found immediately two beer bottles on a shelf in the private garden (splattered with dry white paint). Inside the room was OK - clearly worn with old furniture but somewhat spacious. The kitchen and bedroom were clean. The ~10-hour (nightly) serenade from the whistling frogs was not a problem (just close the doors and windows). The breakfast buffet was overpriced (BB$78 per person ~US$46 per person which is typical for Hilton). The food was adequate (edible but not tasty). Upon check out received the folio (receipt) with my wrong address and wrong room number. I called (from a new hotel) to fix the folio but was giving the run around (the hotel sent me to the front office, the front office sent me to "central reservations," and central reservations sent me back to the hotel). The problem was not fixed. I went to the grocery store and bought for for the next few days (at another similar hotel). I read before booking the reception staff were slow, preoccupied (with conversations and their smartphones), and generally indifferent. This is true but did not bother me.
It was amazing staffbI will give an A+. My room was excellent love it.
I love that the rooms were very private. I like the private pool, barbecue area. The rooms was setup great. I like that their were two bathrooms . Every person that worked there that we ran into while we were walking was very nice. They always ask if we needed help. The only down side was the seaweed on the sand that was real bad by the ocean.
We had an amazing time. We will be back
Very friendly Front Desk Staff! Great Property.
Liked the hotel resort experience - very nice. Hotel directions (from the airport), i.e. signage, could be better.
Upscale resort property within 15 min of BGI. They have 5 restaurants but no more than 2 are open at any time. Pool area and beach are superb. Rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. Room for improvement in service culture and customer attention.
This was an excellent property. We were upgraded to a bigger room and really loved it. The only problem we had was mosquitoes in the room at night. The first night was bad but the second night the staff gave us some bug spray which help a lot. Overall the stay was positive and i would come back again.
Nice. Seemed like past its prime.
Great place for a relaxing holiday. Excellent dining options, pools and beach and ever smiling and helpful staff.
Safe property
With More information we would have enjoyed the property even more. It took Close to an hour To Get checked in. The chaos around our check in is why we didn’t have all the info we needed to enjoy the amenities of the resort.
room smelled awful even tho it was cleaned. unfriendly staff. so crowded. inefficient checkin. no one watching the luggage. restaurant was inedible. lunch gave us the wrong order after 30 minute wait. convenient to airport.
Had to change my room 4 times. The first room the air didn't work. They moved us to a second room it was an upgraded pool suite. The following day we come back from an excursion we are locked out. An accused of avoiding their attempts to reach us. Then we were move to the third location open wires hanging out of the socket, throw up residue in sink. Chipped paint on toilet an shower scum. We moved to our fourth room they compted 75 dollars and gave us two bottles of wine. This room had plumbing issues the toilets didnt flush. By this point i was tied, i didn't even get the plunger i requested and had to beg for face towels. They turned paradise into hell.
Definitely recommend
Stayed for two nights and we had a great time! Room and pool were as pictured, everything was clean and had great food at Zen & L’Azure.
Room with personal pool outside.
Host were very polite and helpful. After requesting a room repair and more towels, they cakes back to check if completed to my satisfaction.
Definitely returning!
This stay was amazing! The room was awesome (we booked the one with the 28ft pool) - definitely our favorite room to date! The whole concept of the "village" was so convenient, especially if you are looking for a trip where you can just bum around a hotel and relax. They had everything you needed, including a golf simulator! They also have an app that makes booking activities/tours/restaurant reservations all so convenient. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the food was unexpectedly good - especially for "hotel food" (don't miss the asian restaurant!). The only thing is, the towels are pretty limited, but just bring your own and there is no problem. Definitely returning.
Property was overall nice. Very peaceful. Staff was nice. Concierge was great. Thanks to Chante for her help.
Beautiful hotel. Feels like you are in an island within an island.
Third time staying here, amazing as usual
Very average. Property felt claustrophobic. Dirty/cleanliness issues.
Excellent
The pool area is just perfect for our 6 year old.
Great place with great views!
Absolutely loved my stay! My room was exactly like the pictures however if you are looking to be close to night life and do not have a rental (you will need one if you’re looking to not spend $100 per ride) then staying near the south side or west is your best bet!
The garden was well maintained
Clean, comfortable and has beautiful surroundings. Room service was quick and the staff is friendly.
Nice place and breakfast Buffett is very good. Probably one of the best hotels on Barbados.
Far away from restaurants, service was very slow, food was ok
Second time staying here. We had a roof top pool, which had dead skin and debris floating in it. No hot water the first day and night. The food is expensive and not worth the cost. Some of the public pools were also dirty and unusable. It was the same way the first time we stayed for 1 night. Thought it was just but timing but obviously not.
Stunning hotel, very well built, and it was like being in a private town! Wonderful scenery as it’s right next to the beach, the kids absolutely loved it! Will definitely return.
Pretty Solid All Around
The property itself is quite pretty, some Minor upkeep needed but nothing major. I stayed solo for only 2 nights after a work trip in a different part of the island and that was plenty of time. The beach while pretty is quite small and had an issue with seaweed while I was there. Drink and food service on the beach which is great. A few pools to choose from, nice - seating could be updated. The room was huge especially for one person - no complaints there. However, I had a constant mosquito problem and could never seem to kill all of them. AC in living room worked well, in the bedroom not as well. The hot water in the shower never got hot enough. Food was good for the most part. For a solo traveler, it would have been nice to have more bar seating options. Particularly enjoyed my meals at the Italian restaurant and Zen - the Asian restaurant. Staff was really friendly. Only issue I had was I called down at 6am for a late check out which was approved but no check out time confirmed, the lady asked me to come by front desk after breakfast so I did. I was then told I could not check out late and I had to hold a firm stance that the answer she was giving me wasn’t an acceptable one. Luckily, they found the girl I talked to not the phone and confirmed the agreed upon late check out. All and all it was nice and would generally recommend if your looking for a quiet getaway.
Excellent
This place is really run down,
The Crane is a stunning resort. Tucked away in the residential east side of Barbados, The Crane has a uniquely beautiful location, with a dramatic beach and gorgeously maintained prope
I loved everything. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and eager to assist.
Great friendly service
Historic charm mixed with solid restaurant offerings and a stunning beach.
Property is nice, very much a retiree property. Shout out to Shane, Miguel, Barry and Grantly for knowing what good customer service is! Bar 1889- food poisoning first night after waiting half an hour for drinks, an hour for the pizza I got sick from. Front desk, unless youre checking in, they can't/won't help with anything. Taxis easy to get. 5 restaurants at the property, but only one serving breakfast that ends strictly at 11am. They do not hold any tables for walk ins, so if you want to eat, make sure you make a reservation. Excellent restaurant across the street, Le Shack, go, you won't be disappointed. Front desk staff rang my room and hung up until i checked out a noon. Really unprofessional. I probably wouldn't stay here again.
My stay was relaxing. The staff were helpful and friendly.
I did not get to stay at the resort because when I arrived, I was told there was no room for me and I was never checked in.
Beautiful beach
Great location and the suite is stunning! The only think I would improve is communication. The check in is quite late (4pm) and the check out is early (10am)
Our room was terrible, lights in bathroom that did not work, poor air condotioning (they resolved by bringing 2 floor fans), no wash cloths. Bed was not made when we checked in.
Quiet and very private
We enjoyed our stay for the most part! The staff was both friendly and helpful. The dining options were excellent and the beach was awesome! On the negative note we payed extra to have a plunge pool in our room and a few days into our trip the water in the plunge pool emptied out. We informed engineering, house keeping and the front desk and nothing was done about. This was extremely disappointing and irritating seeing how we paid extra for this in room amenity. The other thing was we went without fresh towels for two days! We call both housekeeping and the front desk several times but we didn’t receive the towels until our final day at the resort.
There was not enough staff at checkin and the one staff member seemed to dealing with an elderly lady who appeared to be planning an event and had lots of questions before making a decision. So the staff member was unable to ensure a quick and comfortable check in for a waiting tired guest
Nice peple
No efficient communication between crane resort and Hilton resort
The resort is enormous with several large outdoor pools for all ages, several types of restaurants and very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was so welcoming! We stayed in a gorgeous apartment with a private pool and exotic floral garden. We really felt relaxed. Having never been to Barbados before, it would have been nice to have been introduced to some local amenities, a map of where the restaurants were, how to get to different places etc but this is just a minor detail for reception. That said, we were greeted with lovely cold drinks on arrival and if I needed help or had any requests, the team were always very helpful. Regarding the Crane beach, having read great reviews about it, I was very surprised to find it’s actually quite unpleasant as it is a red flag beach with strong currents and seaweed all over, not great when you have a young family. You should definitely either hire a car or be prepared to take buses or taxis to get to nicer beaches.
Generally it was a disspointing stay - the staff were friendly and welcoming. When we arrived our room Wasnt ready which as it was 3.30pm Was not great and we only needed the room for 5 hrs. The pool towels were not available Our key would not work The area around the pool was dirty with old food, socks and poor chairs
Our rooms were amazingly and clean. Love the property.
The property is beautiful , great pleasant staff the ptoperty is fantastic 3 restaurants all amazing
My room was uncomfortable warm for all the days I stayed there and I was sweating firming the nights. The AC did not seem to work. I put in a complaint the first night but the issue wa never resolved and no one got back to me with response to address the issue. As an Expedia VIP member I requested an upgrade if one was available citing the temp in my room was warm and A/C didn’t seem to work. I was told the manager has to make the decision and the request will be submitted to him. Again, no response to my query.
Beautiful resort, well worth a stay!
The stay was excellent. We had a room with a roof top pool. The rooms are luxurious and very spacious. Very secluded, not for people who want to party all night long but definitely for the people who want to relax and just unwind.
Good place to visit
Beautiful hotel with really nice people
This resort and staff just went above and beyond to make our stay very memorable. We will be forever great full.
