I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent stay at your Hilton property. Several issues significantly impacted our experience, and I feel it is important to bring them to your attention. Overall, this property lacked Hilton standards!. Firstly, the apartment’s décor was noticeably outdated and in need of immediate refurbishment. While this may seem like a minor issue, it did affect the overall comfort of our stay. More concerning, however, was a serious security breach. The side entry to our apartment was left open and unlocked, posing a significant safety risk. This is an unacceptable lapse in security that requires immediate attention to ensure the safety of guests. In addition, we encountered a substantial moth infestation, which we believe resulted from the veranda being exposed to the elements. This issue further detracted from the overall quality of our stay and raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. When these matters were brought to the attention of your staff, we were not provided with adequate assurance that they would be addressed promptly. This lack of urgency left us feeling unsettled and undermined our confidence in the property’s commitment to guest safety and satisfaction. Given these concerns, I would not recommend this property for a family stay.

Great security when entering the building. Great service when we called down to ask for a toaster. The kitchen was a bit dated and lacked towels. Otherwise the residence is a great place for a larger group that can use multiple bedrooms. BEAUTIFUL POOL view facing the Lotus Tower!

Love everything about this hotel.

The Hilton Colombo is a beautiful property and the room was very spacious for our family. We were lucky to get a room with a wonderful view of the Lotus Tower which made our stay all the better. Staff were very accommodating, location is very convenient with a grocery store nearby, and room was very clean upon arrival. Would definitely stay here again during our next visit to Colombo!

Great location, wonderful rooms

Easy check in and modern rooms.

The pictures on the website of rooms are deceiving, rooms need major upgrade. No aircondition in the elevator and lobbies. The cleaning staff was very receptive.

Huge apartment like accommodation right in the heart of Colombo, close to major attractions. For a party of 6, this 3 bed/2 bath option was much better than booking two rooms at a regular hotel.

5 star Quality stay in Colombo

Staying at the Hilton Residence was absolutely sensational. We got upgraded to a suite which was absolutely fabulous and the staff was incredible especially Travene who took care of us and the restaurant, rooms, transport, everything about our stay was 5 star quality. I highly recommend staying there if you are visiting Colombo.

This will be my accommodation for my next visit to Sri Lanka for sure. The best accommodation I have experienced.

My stay with my family at the Hilton was wonderful! The staff was very helpful, quick, friendly, and extremely kind! The facilities such as the gym were perfect and clean to my liking. Also, the apartment itself was cozy and really felt like home away from home! The only downside is, if you consider this a downside, is that the stove in the kitchen is very outdated and slightly difficult to operate due to the lack of high and low heat indications. Furthermore, the pots and pans given to use were pretty old in condition and should have been more new and clean. Other than that, me and my family extremely enjoyed staying here for 2 weeks!

Fine for one night stay

Hotel needs a bit of an upgrade. Lifts are slow and no aircon in them or in hallway. Rooms are a bit scuffed and dated. Very busy hotel and not enough seating in lobby and they couldn't check us in on time. Wouldn't stay more than one night

The pool and buffet breakfast are very good. The rooms smelled of mold/mildew and need to be aired out more often, especially given the climate. Also the air conditioners should be cleaned as it seemed like air coming from them was not very clean. A hotel like the Hilton should be doing these things regularly in a hot and humid climate.

Very friendly and professional staff. Room was great and very spacious. Breakfast was generous and varied. Recommended for families.

Pleasant stay!

Excellent stay and very friendly atmosphere. Will need a change of couch and mattresses as they are old and not very comfortable. AC is not working well and not holding up well as we visited in march which was terrible. In fairness we dint ask for a room change and just felt with it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel and recommend the hotel to work on improving the amenities.

Very conveniently located and a super place

Fabulous stay at the Hilton Colombo Residence. We loved all the space we had, with 2 bedrooms. We were on the 29th floor, so it was very quiet. The pool area was lovely. The breakfast buffet was great. The workers everywhere were super friendly. It was close to 2 grocery stores, with good prices. We liked the one that didn't smell like fish. We easily walked to the mall and to Dinemore to eat. We signed a waiver, so they opened the balcony for us to use. After 3 days there, I'm afraid it spoiled us, and no other hotel will compare.

We got a 3 bedroom suite, which was spacious and had a washing machine. This was heaven sent after a 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. The hotel was conveniently located with a grocery store right beside, great pool and gym facilities, sauna and steam room. Food at the buffet eas great, room service was convenient but i would prefer going down to either the coffee shop right outside the hotel or going down to the hotel bar. Lovely stay overall and the staff were absolutely lovely, camt call out one as they were all equally amazing to deal with.

Very good

On arrival, we were upgraded to a massive suite. We were really pleased to have the space. Everywhere in the suite was clean. Beds comfortable. Recycling was good, but there wasn’t actually a rubbish bin!! Air con very good. Staff in restaurant were very helpful and polite. Buffet food was great.

It's a good location that is close to the station and the hotel is on a bus route. Good restaurants are close by and there is a shopping mall not far away. The apartments are well furnished and spacious. We had a room with a wonderful view. The pool is large and is a great place to spend some time.

I've stayed in some of the world's top hotels, but none of them can match the incredible service at Hilton Colombo Residence. As well as having excellent facilities, including massive rooms and apartments, swimming pool, gym, sauna etc, the staff are exceptional. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond. I actually cancelled my stay at the Shangri La to stay at the Hilton Colombo Residence again I was so impressed from my first visit. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else when I return to Colombo. Great for families, excellent views of the iconic Lotus Tower and the team always willing to help with advice and tips for getting around Colombo. Top hotel.

Helpful staff

There was a staff member named Anne in the breakfast service. She was rude to us. The treatment was racist and discriminatory as she kept repeating the breakfast closing time many times which we already knew and never asked them to extend it for us. She was nice to white people but treated us badly even though we paid the same amount.

Average at best

The unit was spacious and the bathrooms were refurbished. The furniture and kitchen was run down and the service was below average .. long waiting times and wouldn’t stock basics such as milk (not even to purchase). Quoted room service items and when ordered confirmed wasn’t available. Location wise not ideal but a short taxi ride to Galle / beach / mews / hospital street etc. The photo is not from hotel

Great central hotel in Colombo for families

Staid at Hilton Colombo Residence on two occasions in our family trip to Sri Lanka. The stay was great overall and highly recommend this apartment hotel for family travel. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were great. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Our room included the breakfast buffet, which was awesome as well. While I highly recommend the hotel, a small touches of renovations in the rooms would enhance the experience and would go a long way.

The hotel is OLD. Our room was horrible. It had ugly and stained curtains, it had NO VENTILATION so it smelled like dirty socks, and it was next to a pigeon nest, so we had next door neighbors moving and singing. The ONLY good thing was the breakfast at the restaurant downstairs.

Super friendly staff. Very helpful when i needed extra time to check out.

One Week Stay at HCR

We had excellent one week stay at HCR, in a two bedroom deluxe suite. All points of service, front desk, restaurant, pool, gym, spa, room and housekeeping are stellar, amazing, friendly staff! Breakfast buffet at Flow restaurant is delicious. Though the water was slightly cold, we swam three times and relaxed by the pool and took advantage of great spa services.

For a good business base, look no further!

Wonderful to be back after so many months. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Very helpful. This is the perfect hotel for a longer stay- large rooms, gym, good breakfast, great choice of food. Will return for sure. Oh and good WiFi for working and pleasure!

Value for money one spends. Comparatively speaking, one gets an apartment with all amenities a 5 star hotel provides which translates to more space / Square meters. Pantry well equipped for cooking. Overall, excellent experience. It's an older property well built, structurally sound, well maintained. Solid place to be.

The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. We stayed there for 10 nights with our three children, one of whom suffers from a nut allergy. The restaurant and hotel staff were very helpful in ensuring that our needs were properly catered for. The food is great, and our children enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the pool. The suite we stayed in was very spacious and had all the facilities we needed to make it feel like a home away from home. We would highly recommend it. There is a kitchen which is useful, and also a well stocked supermarket just across the road for those who prefer the freedom to self cater. We travel a lot with our family and this is one of the best family hotel suites we have stayed at over the years.

Incredible staff and accommodations

This was our second stay in 14 days and was as good or better the second time. The staff is incredibly accommodating and spectacularly friendly. And the food is just plain excellent. A great place for the family.

Very nice breakfast. Pool was great. Rooms were very nice. The one bathroom had a rain shower that was wonderful.

Most wonderful stay - felt like home and everything I need is at an arm's length. Service is outstanding!

For the price, very disappointing. They wasted 2 days of costs and time by giving a driver who drove us to the wrong place and we never saw the beach as it started raining in the evenings. Sri Lanka not a good place to visit

Very nice hotel with large apartments style rooms. We got upgraded to executive floor as well. Buffet breakfast was very good and all staff were so friendly and helpful. Thanks to Rohan in the restaurant for serving us up a beautiful traditional Sri Lankan breakfast

Great Stay at this place - staff were so good 😊

Staff were excellent special shout out to Supan and the staff in general who were very helpful :))) they moved us to another room also as the one they gave us was recently decorated the only real negatives were suggesting we take a taxi to Colombo city a less than 10 minute walk and the flecks of paint we got on us from the redecorating. But the food and hospitality were outstanding:))

Hotel is as advertised, room was good. We booked the 3 bedroom suite and they said the rate was for one adult which kind of doesn’t make sense. Staff was nice, food was good and they really made an effort to have the kids enjoy their food!

Very accommodating staff, going the extra mile!

It was overall very good. Very accommodating at Flow, the breakfast buffet. Made special gluten-free dishes and went over and above to accommodate. The room was big but decorated with very outdated furniture and on the 31st floor you weren’t allowed to go out on the balcony which would have been nice. The bathrooms were newly renovated though but the rest would need an update. I emailed them before the visit for taxi service as we needed a van and they arranged that for us and we could pay through the hotel bill. On the way back we tried Uber but a bit of a struggle since the drivers wanted cash and not going through the Uber app. But the hotel called the drivers when they didn’t show up and after some canceled rides we found one! So overall very good!

Great hotel, highly recommended!

Amazing service, breakfast was awesome with so many choices for every taste, the room was unbelievable, spacious, clean and all the amenities . The only thing that was annoying was the room key would only open the elevator for the floor you were asdignef and given that I had family members on 3 different floors that I could not access made this a little inconvenient.

Centrally located family hotel

Great family hotel. It was centrally located, clean and had a very spacious layout. It was easy to get any grocery/fruits from the food city right next to the hotel.

City hotel easily accessible to city centre.

Enjoyable stay and wonderful breakfast

My family of three stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe suite for two nights at the beginning of our two week holiday in Sri Lanka. The property is well located and has good views over the city, we found our apartment to be clean, large and comfortable. Our apartment contained a kitchen and a dual washing machine/dryer which was one of the reasons for us choosing this property though it would have been handy if management had provided operating instructions for the washing machine (thankfully we had free wifi in which to search for it on the web). We had a buffet breakfast each morning at Flow and found this to be excellent and one of the best buffets that we have had during our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka. We also found the staff to be very helpful and attentive - thank you to Angelo, the breakfast manager on duty for taking the time to explain the local dishes and the Dosa station to us. The only negative was the lack of a power point in either of the bathrooms in which to plug the hairdryer in. We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton and would not hesitate to stay again if we return to Colombo.

Fails to meet brand expectations

Hotel restaurant staff have an attitude. Delegate requests rather than respond promptly. First hotel where there are no slat and pepper shakers. Food is monotonous if you stay mor than a day. Too noisy and hotel check in staff failed to mention construction work and do not care about requests in reservation such as non smoking rooom and so on. Overall too expensive for the quality of device that is being offered. Hotel staff do not care about Expedia reservations and staff fails to follow up on requests.

Every room condition varies.

I stay there on two separate occasions in one trip. The staff and service is fantastic, but the two different rooms varied a lot in quality. The 26 floor room had new bathrooms and newer rooms, the 8th floor room had overall much poorer quality. So, ask for more updated rooms.
