The best value in Jerusalem
Dirty and run down. Good location and rate. Front desk was on a continual break. Stay in a hostel they are much cleaner.
Horrible, dirty, felt unsafe. Pictures nothing like actual property. Rooms dilapidated and no toiletries. Smelled like mildew.
Parking was terrible, no accessibility when dropping off, elevator was broken and had to walk up 8 floors of stairs with bags, stroller, and toddler.
Walls are thin, which made it hard to fall asleep with noises coming from next door. Other than that, nice place of you are in Jerusalem!
Hillel St Hotel - Centrally Located in Jerusalem
Hillel 11 Hotel is centrally located in Jerusalem and walking distance to shops and eatery markets as well as 10 minutes walking distance to Mamilla Mall which is a gateway to Old City Jerusalem. Amenities includes Free WiFi, A/C, TV, refrigerator, kitchen sink, dining table and safe. There is a 2-minute walk to Hillel 27 Parking where you can get a deal on 24-hrs to a few days rental car parking as there’s always nowhere to park in Jerusalem and the city tickets illegal parking. The price value of the hotel allows me to stay longer. I recommend this hotel.
Every time I’ve stayed here has been fantastic. Check ins a second, rooms are clean and the staff are very nice! Highly recommend!!
Great customer service helped me with anything I needed.
Property needs to seriously invest in its decor...ripped wallpaper throughout the property.....towels that are so
Not maintained enough. The TV didn't work and they couldn't fix it. High price for the value. There is no parking and the parking lot is very expensive.
Perfect location, needs some renovation
It used to be a very good hotel but with years they really need to renovate their rooms, bathrooms. They have a very good spot! Well located! I would def make some renovations there Also change the towels.
Well located and comfortable. Very basic.
Place was nice. Staff was nice. Great location! Dog even loved it!
You cannot beat the great location for this price. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping is great! Overall, it is a great deal if you are using it mostly for sleeping. The tv was not in English and it was hard to find things. The refrigerator and small kitchen were nice. I would definitely go there again.
Stayed here many times during the years: perfect location, friendly staff, spacious room
its fine
No habia papel higienico en la habitacion y una de las luces fallaba y titilaba todo el tiemp
Nice and central place close to activities.Price really correct
Friendly staff
Nice location. Good beds. Good bathrooms. Dark rooms. Needs more light. I paid extra for a balcony but it overlooked a loud construction site. Not pleasant.
Great location, clean room, but lots of problems -- broken ac/heat control, no cold water at bathroom sink, no handle on the faucet, no toilet paper holder, nowhere to put toiletries and worst of all, no window but a milk glass slider opening to a dirty back shaft -- all this after being told I was getting a free upgrade. Gotta wonder what the upgrade was from. I won't be coming back.
There is no one to help with your luggage- when we got to the room, there was a terrible smell in the bathroom- I advised the front desk and asked for a room change, but was told there were no other clean rooms. The furniture on the balcony was all rusted. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
Lots of space for the price. Everything worked but the place is in need of upgrade. Refrigerator iced up. Clean comfortable room. Breakfast pretty basic. Excellent value for the money.
At arrival the room showed dusted, floor dirty, on my stay of 9 nights they “cleaned” the room everyday but did not sweep the floor very well, dust, fluff, woman’s hair, small woman’s hair clips and more, the t disturbing was the noise of the doves on the roof at 5:00 am, doves walking, pecking the roof and signing every day early morning around 5:00 am, room was extremely hot in plain winter due that the hotel water heater was near the room, i have to open the window to allow cold air into the room, but at the time of sleep have to close the window
Excellent Value
This hotel is an excellent value. The location is close to many tourist attractions, restaurants, and the Old City. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The room was a bit worn, but clean. A little “tidying up” of the lobby and hallways would make a big difference in the overall way the hotel presents. It is possible, though, that the feeling of messiness was due to it having been a holiday.
The lovely folks at the front desk were extraordinary kind and helpful!
Great location. Super friendly staff.
This property located in the middle of the city. So all sites a walking distance from hotel.
Nice and affordable
Excellent location spacious rooms
Good location, generally courteous front desk staff. The listing on Expedia listed some false facts: 1. Breakfast is NOT at Hillel hotel, but in a different hotel, on a different block, across the big road, about a 7-10 min walk, and big stairs to pass. If you are planning to get out of bed for a quick breakfast, that will not be the case. It feels like going out to eat then a breakfast at the hotel. The options at breakfast are good, but the cleanliness of certain things is questionable. I will spare the details. Dining room staff are about 50-50 on being nice. A few young men were quite short and unaccommodating. The older gentlemen from the kitchen seemed to be upset with their attitude. 2. Listing on Expedia listed Kitchen, but in Hillel language that doesn't mean that you can cook or make coffee there. So what I had was 1. extra sink 2. little fridge, and 3. tea pot that didn't work and wasn't clean. The tea pot was replaced with another that wasn't clean either. The manager tried to convince me that the presence of the tea pot makes it a kitchen (ette). In my experience it doesn't mean either of the two, and usually every respectable hotel has a fridge and a tea pot, without advertising a kitchen! There is NO shuttle provided to the hotel. The shuttle service provided FROM the hotel is not free, although quite affordable. The hours are very selective. Cleanliness is generally shaky. The front desk staff really tried to make my stay comfortable.
Nearest the holy sites and at an economic price.
The big units are nice for a family with young kids but tge fact that that was no common areas to be in and tbe breakfast was in a different hotel, made it not so friendly for kids. The hotel location is amazing and really fun.
Really lousy. Mouldy shower
The hotel was great staff was truly amazing rooms were nice great location definitely staying again
Breakfast is a 5/10 minute walk off property. I would not buy it again for that reason. The food was fine but not worth it if you had walk there.
Wonderful hotel in a great location. Great for families and pet friendly! I will definitely be staying here again.
Mold in shower stalls
The hotel is in bad condition, there’s mold in the shower stalls, I checked three different rooms and they all had mold. I’m allergic to mold and it’s a serious health hazard to anyone. Had to clean it myself with a mask and gloves on. the elevator handle was broken then got fixed
CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
Would definitely go back
Older, budget hotel but VERY well maintained. Staff is exceptional. Room was small but perfectly adequate. Everything worked just fine. Fantastic location.
A little bit old and dirty, but if you don't mind that a reasonable value
Excellent experience. Great staff.
Could be much better
Check-in was all fine. Tint there are few issues that need addressing - there was no hot water on day 2 and 3 of our stay - apparently there is a boiler that needs to be kept on and so we did, but still no hot water. Secondly, the cleaning lady turned up at around 8.30 am, when we were still preparing to go out. We asked her to come back later, but she never did - our room was not cleaned at all during our stay. Finally, the property rooms do need substantial refurbishment - holes on the walls, paint coming off the ceiling, a/c spitting dirt on the floor, etc. the only positive perhaps was that the receptionists were very polite and helpful. Location is also very convenient.
Staff is very attentive
Bien servicio, bonito hotel y accesible gracias por todo
Doesn't worth the money.
The stay was a disaster. First we had hair on the sherts, we requested to replace (the guy in the reception replaced them but wanted to see it :/). Then the night was awful, it's loud and it is as if there are no windows at all, you can hear everything on the street. Definitely doesn't worth it
Great location, easy walking distance to transport & the Old City. Smooth check in with lovely & helpful reception staff. Will keep it as an option for our next visit to Jerusalem.
Staff were helpful Ahmed was great
The property is old and not properly maintained. There is no proper connection for the phone, it is difficult to lock the shower, etc.
The pictures of the property look very promising, and the staff are friendly, but the overall experience is poor. The elevator had a broken wall and torn decoration. There were no cutlery or dishes in the ‘kitchenette’. I booked an Executive Suite that was advertised to have a double sofa bed, but only a single sofa bed was provided, which was dusty and had stains on the seats. It looks like the hotel would have been nice when new, but the condition now is unfortunately quite poor.
It is ok and very central
Excellent
Excellent location, a short walk to the food markets and Old City (15 mins). Very spacious and clean room. Staff were all very accommodating.
The staff is awesome at Hillel 11. Room cleaned daily. The room is very basic. Bathroom very small. Shower soaks floor even with door closed. Refrigerator smwlk
Nice workers
The heater wasn’t working and no available engineering to fix it. We were cold the whole we were there. The paint was peeling off and falling in our bed. Poorly maintained building.
Hotel has a perfect location to main attraction Al Aqsa Mosk in occupied Jerausalem
Convenient location. Good size rooms and shower.
front desk not always manned.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking to one of them quite a bit. But there was one serious problem. I twice saw people waiting, in one case over an hour, to check in. They could not do it because there was no clerk at the desk. Those two times were on Friday night and Saturday morning - so maybe labor is tight on the Shabbatz (Sabbath).
Great location! Friendly staff. Met all my needs.
Amazing service
Not to bad, it could be better.... location wise is excellent... customer support is go but it could improve....
Bathroom shower was moldy. Hotel seemed run down. Location was good for us. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great location and friendly members!
Very close to old town and new town. Maybe 10 mins walk. It says “kitchenette” but there isn’t anything we can cook…. Fridge is so small too. But anything else was good, receptionists are friendly. Thank you.
Met my needs. Had the suite which gave some extra space.
Great location, nice room size for the price. Room service was touch n' go. TV was broken, balcony was nice. A king or queen bed is really 2 mattresses pushed together. Stingy on towels, not great hotel amenities, very mixed feelings
Great little hugely
Lovely small hotel. Friendly receptionist, really lovely room. Key locks! Perfectly located for all the major Jerusalem sights. No hotel parking, but there are three underground car parks privately paid, 100 shekels for an overnight park.
DO NOT STAY!
The first night we arrived, someone used a key and entered my wife’s room while she was in there. Later in the week, we asked the front desk agent for more toilet paper and towels and when we got back, there was none of that, but multiple items of ours was missing. They stole over $2,500 worth of items from us. When confronted, they stated we were gaslighting them and they did not enter our room. A police report was filed and the person taking our report said they have multiple reports from this location. Do not stay here.
Small with no cleaning but in great area and rooms worth the charge
Very dirty dusty it looks like it has not been clean for weeks, We stay for 2 days they never clean the room nor brought any clean towels, NOTE: pictures look nice on advertising on Expedia but is not how it shows there. Foset on sink is leaking a lot on the small table it soak all our things, they don't sweep the place very often. Very important: don't believe the starts that is showing on Expidia it should have 2 instead 4. Sorry it is my honest opinion
Nice clean room, good location, 20 min from the old city, 10 min from the Machaneh Yehudah Market and 2 min from the paid parking.
good position for shops, restaurants and the old city.
Excellent location that's affordable. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
The hotel was close to pretty much everything. Jaffa Street was a couple blocks down where you can catch the tram. Old city Jerusalem was within walking distance.
Great location! Front desk was very helpful all the time. Apartment was clean and bed was comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here may I return to Jerusalem.
Dirty bathroom, toilet was very dirty, bad smell in the room
Absolutely amazing! Brilliant position, great room, friendly staff, room upgrade, loved everything about it!
The hotel is close to where you are suppose to visit and tour Jerusalem.
overpriced for what you get
More of an apartment than a hotel. The front desk staff were really nice. It was clean but simple. No breakfast. For well over $200 a night it felt very overpriced. Maybe this is typical for Israel but we were kind of let down.
Great location and lovely staff but I would have appreciated a reply to my pre trip email regarding having a bed made up for my son -he has Autism and although the staff were great when we arrived we STILL had to organise bedding etc because our email wasn't read .I would stay there again though -the room was clean and perfect for our needs
Too small in single room
Good location, comfortable bed. However the hotel is shabby and run down. Out of six nights, the room was only cleaned 3 times. Door didnt shut properly. Drinking water was not available every day. Hall floors were not clean. TV speaker not clear.
Clean and the receptionist are very friendly and helpful
- smelly and dirty room, the balcony door was shaking from the wind - the entrance door won't stay closed if isn't locked, the door bettwen the rooms, can't be closed - the airconditioning is noisy and the remote alomost works - we had to wait a few hours after the check in hour. They told us, "come in one hour", then "come in 30 minutes", then "come in 15 minutes", then "is not ready yet"
Loved size and location. Only one employee disappointing He did not give us our wake up call
Close to the Old City and good stores and restaurants.
Location , pet-friendly, spacious, kitchenette , very friendly staff, stores/shopping abound
Lovely room and excellent location. All of this combined with a very caring staff makes this a lovely place to stay. Moshe in particular was very helpful and welcoming and provided assistance with my heavy luggage in a very kind and thoughtful way. Moshe stands out for being a great host and is a great benefit to the hotel with his helpfulness.
Broken window, pigeon poops, no parking at premises as advertised
The hotel is very conviently located. You'll have to walk a short distance if you want to park in a parking garage versus trying to find street parking.
The location was great, close to the Old City and the Center City.
The rooms were very large, great location and staff always available.
Very nice
Great location 👍. Room needs to be updated.Had some holes in the walls and door to the bathroom did not close completely.
I had to ask for rooms to be clean and to get more towels as well as toilet papers and shampoos
Close to everything! Nice and cozy. Needed a lil update but overall great inexpensive place and prime location. 10 min walk to jaffa gate old city.
Excellent location, walking distance to many places, nothing not to like! I've been a guest four years in a row; that's how much I enjoy Hillel 11.
family stay
Overall ok. Not more. Bathroom tap was leeking the whole time. Room needed a bit of a facelift. Electricty points not working. Missinf lamps. Didn't feel clean. Price was high for what we got.
I had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel which is in the centre of Jerusalem, close to cafés and shops and just ten minutes walk to the Old City. The staff were exceptionaly helpful and friendly. I would fully recommend the hotel.! David.R. from Oxford, England.
awesome experience
I felt the hotel was centrally located in the city and surrounded by restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating to help with travel plans/arrangements. Overall this was a great hotel.
This hotel was reasonably clean, but worn down physically. The location was great, but there were no amenities and the staff virtually useless for information when there was someone at the front desk. But I suppose you get what you pay for. It was cheap.
Hillel 11 Hotel | Hotel in Jerusalem | Travala.com
There were minor problems with the room, but the friendly staff did their best to fix them. The entire hotel could use a paint job. The room needed a light switch by the bed. Some light bulbs needed to be replaced. The shower was terrific.
