Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Worst all inclusive I have been to! First when we came our room was occupied we had to wait on another room. We could not eat any decent dinner for the first 3 nights because we have to book on the royalton app to eat at restaurants and according to the app they are fully booked! Fourth day was the same I had to take it up with management because I decided my money wasn’t going to go like that. Another issue was language barrier, staff barely knew English so it was very difficult to communicate. They will charge a certain price to book excursions for you but if you book it online by yourself it is like 100 bucks cheaper. Food was not what I expected at all very bad.

I really enjoyed this hotel! There are a lot of activities and the food is delicious. The food and drinks here are top notch. I’ve been to many resorts in Punta Cana this one by far has been the best. Will return in the near future!

Sheets had stains on them. Hair on floor. Rushed to order food because they were short staff was rude. Only person that was pleasant was Fredrico in the buffet area as well as the young ladies in the coffee shop. Room wasn’t ready until five. Safe wasn't working, bar wasn’t filled. Beware of this place. The water to brush my teeth came out brown. This is on the Hideaway side. We will never stay here ever again. The shower was dirty. Not too sure why it took so long to get into a dirty room.

The most amazing staff. You couldn’t ask for better service and kinder people. My only real complaint is the beach. I wish I was made aware before going that I needed water shoes with all of the rocks everywhere.

Nice beach area and property is large and spread out. Buffet area was always fresh food and clean. Did not like the noise created by all the activies and food areas who were competing for your attention.

Swim out Experience

I thought we were getting a King bed with a sofa. We ended up getting 2 queens . Not that big of a deal but still not what we expected . The resort is beautiful. Our Butler was phenomenal. Some bartenders were kinda snobby, but overall good experience

The property was quiet and safe and very beautiful. What I didn’t like about the property was 1) There were children in the adults only area 2) It was difficult to make dining reservations because they were always booked so we didn’t get to enjoy any of the cuisine on the property 3) We booked a luxury room and it wasn’t luxury 4) We ordered room service and the food arrived cold and not eatable. 5) There could have been more activities on the property.

Hideway at Royalton exceeded my expectations. The hideway is thirty minutes from the airport the ride is pleasant. I was helped by Harrison and Carolina for check-in. Estela in housekeeping is wonderful, she respected my privacy, she and her team always greeted me with a smile. I recommend going the extra mile and paying extra for the Diamond club, an added bonus is a butler. My butler Carolina stole my heart, she is kind. Lovely and attentive. Carolina took care of all our needs including sticking my room with whatever we needed. We were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Everyone greets you with a smile and is willing to go the extra mile expecting nothing in return The buffet is great, drinks flow freely. I plan on returning next year with my family. Thank you for creating such a warm and welcoming environment for me.

The layout of the property was beautiful the pools the beach everything was nice. The food at the buffet could have been better. We tried for reservations at the steak house it was over booked. The rooms are a little dated

The property was nice. The place was relaxing and felt like there was something to do always, never a bored moment. Estela from housekeeping made our room everyday and went above and beyond on the presentation and always making sure everything is to perfection.

It was just okay. I would not care to stay again.

Nice people

When booking this property, we were under the impression that this was an adults only property when in actuality it wasn’t. There were kids all over the property. The service was horrible. The food was disgusting to say the least and there was not many options to chose from. After our 2nd day the report went under construction. The overall experience just sucked.

It was fun and enjoyable.

The food did not taste good. Very bland. The staff barely spoke English so communication was horrible. I barely saw my butler. You could not take leftovers or dinner back to your room. Room service took over an hour every time. Housekeeping had to be called repeatedly before they would come clean. Horrible, will not come back. Will not recommend.

Hideaway adult shouldn’t be call adult!!! They have a pool for adults every thing else you have Togo to the other joint resort to eat to do anything. If you are looking to have a good time in an adult resort this is not a place this is nice place for kids and family, I was really disappointed!

This hotel was excellent, nice place, the people were courteous. Excellent beach and pools. Definitely we're staying again.

Beautiful Paradise ….

We stayed here for a few days before we had access to our condo… great place will return.

First of I’ve always loved the Royalton resorts .I after trying most of them this one needs some work … .. that being said customer service is definitely a big one … while some of the staff go above and beyond some are completely clueless when is comes to a simple thing as a smile … I do have to say if you plan on visiting go with an open mind and don’t expect too much … I also have to shout out to a few of the staff there that went above and beyond to make some of the our undesirable mishaps better …some of the staff should clearly reconsider the hospitality industry …a big thank you to Jhoenmy our butler you definitely go above and beyond I wish u all the best , Jose Paulino you are an exceptional manager thank you … Fernando at the Dorado you are a gem along with your chef … you made my day with your special meals definitely will be back for that Octopus!! On another note my trip did not start out great a few mishaps along the way but the people mentioned about surely changed it all … Susy Ramos at the hideaway check in you are a breath of fresh thank you for everything. Now I regards to the hotel accommodation.. my suggestion is please renovate your bathrooms the fish bowl sinks are really not needed , the safe in the very tiny closet with the most awkward doors should be on the top shelf not where a person needs to go down on their knees to open it .. the lighting in the rooms are horrible your rooms need some updating blankets for the beds would be nice.

The hotel room towels were HORRIBLE front desk is not 24 hours didnt open at 7am my transportation pick was for 7am...I waited till 7 15am still no front desk so i left with out no receipt...I'm very unhappy

Diamond club is worth the money ! Lenny our Butler was awesome !! Food was great in restaurants on sight, not so much at splash , buffet was average staff in buffet area not so pleasant, acted as if everything agitated them . Diamond club beach and pool area was awesome ! Francisco our beach staff went above and beyond for us ! Always reserved the best beach chairs and kept the drinks and fresh fruit coming !

We had a very relaxing stay at hideaway the staff in the restaurants and all bars were amazing very attentive. Unfortunately the front desk staff were not very helpful. Our luggage was never delivered to our room so my husband had to go and bring it to us after 30 minutes of waiting and calls to the front desk were less than helpful as we were left on hold forever without any answers. Otherwise it was a very relaxing vacation after that incident!

The only reason i selected this hotel was because of the 10-12 restaurants and the club. At least 4 of the restaurants were closed no one knew what waa going until the 3 day they told us renovation. We finally found the 2 restaurants in Splash one was closed the other one was booked an hour after opening. The club was not a club it was a bar with rude staff. Overall food was not good and I had food poisoning for over a week ended in the emergency room.

Overall the most horrible experience ever. The staff was rude and very disrespectful. Also, traveling from a different country trying to have a wonderful vacation, and encountering this type of treatment was beyond horrible. We were a group of 57 people that came from all around the world for my cousin’s wedding, and every day each one of the family members had a new complaint. I have never been so frustrated and disappointed in my life when it comes to going on vacation. Overall worst experience ever.

Don’t know if it was the water or the food but got absurdly sick 2 days in out of the 5 days of vacation so wasn’t enjoyable at all. Place wasn’t amazingly clean, so I don’t want to attribute it to the food not being prepared right or just the water if a different country really don’t know but I terms of the staff cleaning rooms they did a good job. Somewhat jaded in this review because I didn’t really get to enjoy the trip due to sickness but the hotel was average overall.

The adults only section (Hideaway) was really great! The activity staff and bar staff were very attentive and made our stay lots of fun!

Staff was very helpful. The more they recognized you, the more open they were, and friendly. Enrique was the best. He always had a smile on his face, and was a blast to talk to.

Place is great, the food and drinks perfect. But the staff at check-in was horrible there were only one person able to help. After having trouble checking in changing room and giving me no information at the main lobby, the rest was great.

Loved the Diamond Club, staff and service great. Wish I had gotten the swim up rooms, they seemed fun. Wouldn't recommend the honeymoon suite, Jacuzzi had to be filled by butler. Only used it once, also the balcony of the honeymoon suite overlooked the back of a restaurant and dumpster area. Restaurants were decent, although portions were very small in some cases. W

We liked the staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are in need of updating. The facilities, (restaurants, pool etc are in good shape. The only thing we were disappointed in, is the food preparation. It was hit and miss with dinners and lunch. No disrespect to the chefs that are there, save (Doronos) really need some Good Chefs. Just not talented enough I'm afraid

Once you get to the property the staff is very friendly and helpful And there were a lot of people doing a lot of things for us (shuttle to hideaway check in, the person who checked us in, person who took care of us during our stay, and the person who took our bags to the room.) the room was fantastic, the walls were a little thin but that was only a problem when people were talking loudly in the hall. The hideaway section was lovely and there were eating areas that were adults only too which was lovely (first come first serve). I could go on!

My wife and I stayed there for five days in November and absolutely loved it. We have been to many all inclusive resorts, but this was definitely was a step above. We had a swim up room with the butler, and everything was top notch. Our Butler Manuel was very responsive to any of our needs. Each night we had dinner at a different restaurant, and the food was excellent every time. My wife and I had two negatives. Mine was the seaweed on the beach. I have been to other resorts where they use a machine to clean the beach every night. In addition, they advertise them selves as an adult only resort, but that really wasn’t true. They did have a section that was adults only but all the restaurants allowed children there and sometimes they acted accordingly . One pool was adults only but the other two pools had children. Overall, it was an excellent resort, and would definitely recommend to other people

There was no customer service and no taxi or transportation. Had ask for bar to be fill and they where never brought here.

This resort is a joke and should never be considered an “adult only” resort. There is 1 pool- no swim up bar and 1 restaurant on the entire resort that is actually adult only…you can see and hear kids no matter where you are!! And the staff is very rude and everyone says sorry no habla English

Not much to say! Honestly if it wouldn’t be because of the activities and the night disco it would have been boring. The food wasn’t tropical, it was American food. When you travel to a other country you want to try the countries food. The room is tiny and basic. Beach was clear blue which I enjoyed and drinks were really good and strong, some people were nice some were rude.

I lost my bracelet for diamond club in the ocean. They wanted me to pay $20 to replace it but they are the ones who put it on me and secured it but they wanted me to replace it. That turned me off on the whole thing as it took them 4 days to finally give me a new bracelet four days later After they over charged me $1200 dollars for diamond club which i was already in Hideaway Club and didnt need Diamond Club

Great service. Food was wonderful. We have been to many other resorts and love this one the best.

Impossible to get a spot by pool or beach unless your up by 5 am

Excellent Value for the money paid. I was not pleased with the lack of nightly entertainment and when there was entertainment, it started at 9pm. Hideaway Pool Music was horrible, loud and encouraged heavy drinking. I was looking more for an adult/quiet atmosphere vs. a College Spring break. All Staff was excellent and friendly. For the money paid, the food was expected and dining was very nice. I would go back except for the lack of evening activities. Casino was a JOKE.

The best part of this experience was the staff. Juan and Victor are the best.

COVID testing needs to be more organized. Food options cater to European white oriole. No authenticity to the Dominican culture as far as food. I could have eaten this food in America. I wanted Dominican food.

Great beach and fun times

This was a great hotel, but perhaps wrongly advertised as adult only. They should be really clear that the adult only section is a small portion of the property and also they should be really clear where the adult only areas are on check in. We only found the adult only pool about 2 hours before we checked out. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay, great beach, great drinks and fun times.

Hotel was awesome. The adult only portion is a small section attached to the regular resort. The adult only part is a little small, but nicer than the other areas (and has a better selection of liqour). If wanted, you can explore the other 2 parts of the resort including the normal one, and "Splash" which is a waterpark. The waterpark was very nice. The included "A-la-carte" restaurants are awesome. Food was amazing, they actually have availability (unlike other resorts where you cant get a reservation).

Overall this is a good, friendly and clean resort. However, we were expected this to be an adults only experience, and it wasn't. The adults only section located in the center of the property, so kids are everywhere. The only adults only place is one of the pools, which actually is a quite small. We didn't like a food either, we travel a lot and is not picky about a food at all, but this experience was the worst. For example, if you want a tasty piece of meat/steak, you have to pay for it, don't even try it in the buffet. None or a very little seafood selection as well. Other parts was okay, but we do not plan to return to this pace in the future.

I was only there for one night but it was great. I didn’t get to enjoy all it had to offer but I definitely enjoyed it and had a view of the ocean.

The personnel was friendly and kind. The food and drinks were good. The amenities were nice and relaxing. I'll recommend this place.

Royalton Punta Cana, DR

The hotel was clean but my room had a refrigerator that wasn't cold, the toilet stopped working twice and I was rarely given washcloths. AlsoI was missing a robe and slippers as other rooms had. The overall feel of the resort was nice but me and my friends were surprised at all of the children at an adults only place, only to find out that children are allowed in certain areas. I wasn't expecting that.

Love royalton brand just not this location

Great resort layout , friendly staff , beautiful beaches and pool . Downfall my shower head was broke Upon arrival until second day even though reported immediately. And water bugs not in bed but around room not infested but noticeable to provide discomfort

The hideaway is a very small section of a big family resort. This is not a true "adults only". The staff in the hideaway were so great! I especially loved our bartenders Juan and Greisy! John Paul with the vibe team always kept music and activities going at the Hideaway pool. Our butler Christian was attentive and made sure we always had what we needed and more! The resort is nice and relaxing during the week then turns into one big party on the weekends. Most of the restaurants are just mediocre, but the Tepanyaki restaurant was so good. The beach was beautiful most days, but unfortunately during our trip a lot of seaweed came in and made swimming difficult. Leonella at the beach never let us run out of drinks. I will say the beach cabana for the day is a must. Overall our trip was great but i prefer a true adults only atmosphere.

Spent 8nights at the Hideaway, this place is fantastic. Whats makes it more special is the people, the staff are exceptional. Victor, this guy is fantastic. Eduvige is a darling so friendly and helpful looked forward to chatting with her as I got my morning coffee. The Bartenders at the pool , fantastic. The Chef at Dorado Oscar, excellent and super friendly. Wait and the zumba and aerobic instructors, so entertaining and funny and I cant forget Jean Paul the music and laughs. These guys made our stay memorable. I would definitely return. We did hear some complaints about the lack of variety with the dinner menus but we had no issues. One thing that was pretty annoying is tryin to get in-touch with the resort before landing but other than that it was a great stay.

Staff: reception and check in team were not customer friendly and went from smiling to demanding. When we arrived we were welcomed with smiles and friendliness. When we returned to finish our check in. The front desk team were rude and told us we did not pay for our reservation. The only explanation we received was that that they could not communicate with Expedia and I had to pay or else. After arguing with them for 4 hours we were finally allowed to go to our rooms. Every day during our stay we were reminded that we needed to pay. Since there was so much confusion and stress during check-in, we were promised complimentary massages, which we "never" received. The other staff members (bar/restaurant/entertainment) were much friendlier. The food was good and the pool areas decent. The beach was nice and not a lot of seaweed. It's too bad the front desk team ruined our experience. The rooms had issues. One of our pillows had an obvious stain and on the second day the hotel was installing a fire alarm. Our friends in other rooms had issues with leaks from the roof and someone had their luggage soaked in water. I try to give every hotel the benefit of the doubt, but this one was exactly the reviews previously given.

Food not great. Room service foods doesn’t taste good. Beware of their ice dispenser. Ice not filtered. It made us sick from the rest of our vacation water coming out from the jacuzzi smells like sewer. Will not go back to this hotel. Lobster is additional pay eventhough you are in diamond club. Not like the previous resorts to are included. But the people and service are excellent.

Not a real adult only resort

This place is absolutely beautiful!! Service was phenomenal! The staff were all VERY ACCOMODATING and went beyond the call of duty to make our stay enjoyable! Unlimited food and drink... Will definitely return.

Not an adults only resort… turned into a teen club at night. Lacked entertainment. The music played throughout the resort lacked diversity.

Food was not very good. Resort restrictions are extreme.

This is a very laid back resort. Perfect if you want to go relax and enjoy the beach, drinks and the pool. If you are looking for nightlife and more of a party, this is not it. All in all. Great experience.

Pools were nice. Food subpar. Almost no drink service at pools. Our room was not very nice. Not worth the money paid.

While the staff and the property were very nice, there were a few things about this property that were quite deceiving. The first one being that this property is adults only. The Royalton is a sort of campus where they have multiple resorts on one massive property. So while the resort we stayed at was adults only, it was only the hotel and one pool that was adults only. The rest of the pools, beaches and restaurants were not adults only. Also, the rooms were all very small and didn't really have the appeal that the pictures showed. We booked this trip for our Honeymoon and just weren't impressed. Something to also note about the rooms is that the beds were ROCK HARD and there was a constant musty smell in our room. Lastly, the food wasn't very good. They had a wide selection of Restaurants, however they were all subpar. The room service food was a joke, and the drinks were not good, and most of the time served warm. We ended up sick the last few days of our trip from something we ate (and you have to pay extra for 'premium' alcohol, so much for all inclusive). I absolutely hate giving bad reviews, but I felt obligated to be honest, because we were beyond excited to share our experience so others wouldn't have to. The only good thing about this resort was the friendliness of the staff. We are going to book a second honeymoon somewhere soon to hopefully make up for this trip.

The facility is perfect for vacation it’s clean and the employees makes you feel at home. Didn’t like the algas but is not a problem of the hotel.

Pool

We love the live entertainment every night! it was so magical, loved the fitness trainers - they did yoga on the beach, zumba at pool side and theri fitness center was pretty good - had everything we needed to get a max work out. workers are super friendly

I had the swim out room and the room itself was very underwhelming but the outside with the pool and lounge area was very nice and made it worth it. I stayed at Hideaway Royalton which is advertised as adults only but it’s on the same property with Royalton Splash and Royalton Punta Cana which are family resorts. So, there were kids everywhere and we were separate by a row of bushes. Also, there was a pool with a swim up bar but it was located on the family side and would have kids in the pool. Seemed odd and backwards and I never used that one because I don’t like to vacation with kids. The food was hit and miss but a few more hits than misses. The only reason I would stay again is because it was relatively inexpensive in comparison. Oh I can’t forget, my butler Joel was THE BOMB!

Could be a lot better

Our room was not ready on time. It took us almost 2 hrs to get checked into our room. We were too hot and tired for that. Check-in was at 3 pm, and we got checked in at around 5. Also, the food was a hit and miss as well as drinks. It was a huge language barrier between staff and us, but they were for the most part. When we first got to our room, a housekeeper knocked on the door, didn't say hi or introduce herself, and walked into our bathrooms doing stuff. All while is talking loud in Spanish on her phone. I was mad as heck. Staff, for the most part, will wear a mask but will not enforce guests to wear a mask or sanitize like other countries and resorts. You can easily get COVID at the resort if you are not careful and practicing safety precautions.

I like the buffette Marche Gourmet, excelent food and service I don’t like restaurant El Dorado the food was horrible and My yogurt was damaged with green slat. we went for our honeymoon and they didn't even take it into account

So, Hideaway was Advertised as adults only resort but when I got there it was literally just a section of the resort of the Royalton that was actually adults only literally like a hideaway so I think it was misrepresent it is actually a family hotel in a portion or as a part of the the resort is a adults part so I think it needs to be more consistent with advertising because I was I was looking for an old adult resort and they're my children on the property

Hotel is nice, pools are clean buffet is decent. Check in is tedious, a la carte restaurants are very disappointing flavor wise, half of the employees really love to help and serve but the other half act like they just don’t care .

Overall, we had a wonderful experience! Right away (and throughout our stay) we could tell the property was clean and well maintained. Check-in took a little longer than anticipated (45mins), but we were cozy in a waiting area with drinks and food while we waited, and we didn’t have to drag our luggage around; our bags were delivered to our rooms. The staff members (restaurant and bar servers, groundskeepers, front desk operators, poolside fitness instructors, etc.) were attentive, friendly and helpful. During our week stay, bar tenders remembered which drinks we preferred, the barista remembered my coffee and donut order every morning, and towels were placed on “our chairs” by staff members at the pool each day. The evening entertainment was a delightful mix of performances (ex. dancing, musicians, circus). We took advantage of the all-inclusive drinks and food and were able to book dinner reservations at a different restaurant each night (signed up at the front desk when it opened at 8:00am each morning). We booked 2 excursions through the hotel (dune buggies and catamaran) for a very reasonable price. One day we rented a cabana on the beach...we received excellent beverage and food service, and it was peaceful and relaxing aside from having to turn down venders trying to sell us things. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hideaway Royalton and have talked about returning next year!

The staff service was terrible. Very rude and not friendly. They got so many things wrong. Couldn’t get our orders correct even when we pointed to what we wanted. Asked for a cheese mushroom omelette got ham omelette. Asked for 2 coffee 2 sugar 2 waters. They repeated the order to me and brought 1 coffee. Lady slipped on water at breakfast from overflowing water and no one helped her.

Staff was wonderful, helpful, attentive & cheerful. Property was very clean, liked that everything was within distance. Great variety of restaurants. Wish they would’ve had a jacuzzi area for the evenings & would’ve enjoyed an upscale Dominican restaurant to eat more of the local food.
