Road to access the property is awful. Management team was okay, nothing above and beyond.
The property was beautiful. Amenities were in excellent conditions and clean. The staff were incredible.
Great place for an adventure
What an incredible experience we had at Hidden Valley wilderness Lodge. From the moment we got there until the day that we had to leave, our Vacation was made amazing by the wonderful staff. Besides being absolutely beautiful there, the staff went above and beyond to make my wife and I have the most memorable anniversary ever. A couple of mentions… Marving the tour Guide was absolutely incredible. Booking the tour through him was definitely worth it. He was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. I highly recommend taking tours with him. Kenny, our server was also incredible. Super friendly and very helpful during our stay there. The food was absolutely incredible and we would love to go back just to have another bite of something on their menu. We will definitely Make it back there sometime. Five star rating throughout.
This resort is fantastic. The staff and service are honestly some of the best I have ever experienced. The food from renowned chef and staff was incredible. The property and grounds are beautiful, and our new villa was spectacular. Five star experience.
Beautiful Lodge with Great Service
This place was amazing. The view of the wilderness was awesome. We stayed in the Firewatch villa and had a front row seat to various birds with a great view. We took a guided tour of the property and saw 4 waterfalls, a hawk and had a private lunch at the secret pool with another waterfall and hammock. The staff was amazing. Marvin gave us a lot of information on our tour as did Vion when he took us cave tubing. They arranged our transportation from the airport and to the ATM cave. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful with our daily itinerary. The food was delicious too and the servers were very friendly.
Phenomenal, beautiful, serene does not begin to describe Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge. If you’re a hiker, or someone that just loves nature, I highly recommend this destination.
The Fire Tower
Stunning hotel in the middle of know where but easily to access MaYan parks. Staff could not be more helpful and are a joy to spend time with. The Frie Tower is exquisite and superb views and facilities. The outside restaurant (Slate) is not to be missed with outstanding food and experiences.
Great staff, very loving and attentive.
Amazing place in the middle of mountain pine ridge. Very adventurous place with so many beautiful sights. Just an amazing place from the staff to the food. Perfect 10/10
The property itself is lovely. 17,000 acres of gorgeous and diverse mix of pine forest and broadleaf jungle. Well defined trails, waterfalls you’ve for sure seen in a famous photo shoot. The resort itself is currently a repurposed large main house, surrounded by several smaller cottages. No central heating or a/c. All heated by wood burning fireplaces, although when we were there (January 2023) the wood was almost all too wet to burn. The resort is scheduled to close March 2023 for a major renovation, and will likely be closed for more than a year at the very least. No dangerous animals so be seen. We saw zero, in fact. Almost no mosquitos, due to the altitude, but the noseeums are for real, and unstoppable. The nightly cost of the current suites is high, but considering the exceptional service, and the gorgeous property, it’s probably reasonable. The excursions are lovely and probably charged at market rate, which were worth it because of Marvin, who is an incredible guide. Worth every penny. But then, With no other on-site options, you also need to buy 3 meals per day, in USD, on the resort, and these are very good for the most part, but NOT cheap, and add up very fast, and we quickly began to resent this part. The arranged transport to and from the airport was also not cheap at all. Could probably be found for half the price if privately arranged. In the end, it cost about $800 CDN per day for 2 people, not including any alcohol (we don’t drink)
Absolutely fantastic stay at Hidden Valley Inn. The property itself is amazing, with miles of trails to waterfalls, secret swimming pools, farm, mountain views and more. The staff was incredible - Estelle, Keith, Chris, Misael, Calvin, Loretta. Amazing!
Welcoming staff, gorgeous grounds, beautiful rooms in a remote 7000 acre preserve filled with trails, wildlifeu, birds and fauna. Quite a speuctacular place.
Amazing Place
Everything about it was amazing except the weather was a bit too warm and there's no a/c there. We still really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back again.
The Hidden Valley Inn is a great place to get away from it all, relax and just decompress. Situated in the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, the Inn is quaint, quiet and totally amazing. The food is excellent, the accommodations are top notch and the staff extremely attentive. There are tons of things to see and do and all help make the Hidden valley inn the place to stay. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
Wonderful property with amazing staff. This place is incredible!
The whole experience was amazing. The food, the rooms and the customer service was beyond perfect. The hike and the atmosphere was beautiful.
Hidden Valley Inn was gorgeous- easy to find, but secluded. We hiked for hours without seeing anyone, and appreciated the advice from staff about where to hike and safety tips. The pools and waterfalls are worth a trip in themselves! The rooms/cottages were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Room service and dinner service was great.
The Lodge is lifted in a wonderful spot, especially for birders. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. If you're a birder, be sure to take a trip or two with Marvin. He is expert at finding birds and identifying them by sight and sound. The food was very good, though perhaps a bit expensive. Highly recommended.
Jungle trip
It is beautiful property well maintained and food was good, only problem is the approach road is not good
Incredibly beautiful. So much to see on the 7200 acres. Abundant wildlife . Pine forest and broadleaf jungle. Jaguar Reserve. Waterfalls everywhere. Could not believe what we were seeing. Made it hard to travel off the property to see other sites. Staff was wonderful. Ofelia ,Marissa Jaime,Hector made us feel right at home.Really looked out for us. Accommodations exquisite. Food and drinks top shelf. Must return. Just scratched the surface in five days.
remote high jungle experience
Hidden Valley Inn & Reserve is a small lodge with cottages that provides a high level of customer service. Expect friendly attention from all of the staff. I recommend visiting the butterfly falls and secret pools. Hiking in the area can be a little deceptive as the area is hilly and the humidity and heat can be high, so consider booking a ride with the lodge (or drive yourself) to the trail head. Mountain biking on the property is limited to the roads so don't expect any single track shredding; rather expect good cardio work outs. We also visited Caracol with the lodge guide. Not nearly as excavated as other ruins but not as busy either and you're already in the general area. We rented a jeep 4x4 from Crystal at the airport and drove. Had no problem what so ever but our weather was pretty dry. Very wet weather would be different as the the dirt roads to and around the lodge are pretty much packed clay. Gnats were a considerable bummer. The buggers would actually draw a little drop of blood. Take light weight long sleeves and pants. The room will need a little attention soon; new mattress, some grout work, but that's just a heads up to set your expectations, not really a knock on the lodge. Financially a shout out to Jamie, our happy and helpful front desk man and Marissa (sp? sorry!), our bartender who actually know who to make a real martini!
Well worth the effort to get there!
Absolutely wonderful place to stay! From the moment we walked in the door, everyone was welcoming. The food was excellent, the cabins were clean, comfortable and beautiful. It was amazing to wake up to the smell of pine trees and the sight of parrots.
This place had everything we could have wanted. Perfect spot for those looking for some adventure by day and comfort by night. Unbelievable amenities and hospitality. Food was fantastic as well. We will definitely be staying again in the future!
Wonderful outdoor paradise for active people
We stayed at Hidden Valley for five days, after four days at the beach. We greatly enjoyed our stay - there is so much to do, with miles and miles of trails, waterfalls, ruins, etc. A good base for your activities in the region. We were plenty busy throughout the five days. Rooms were nice, Wifi was good, as was food. Staff is friendly and helpful and provided guidance and tips on what to do. The GM Gladnys went the extra mile and had us cooked a special East African meal after hearing we had just moved away from Kenya - such a thoughtful touch. Tips: Bring lots of bug spray and sunscreen; if you rent a car, you can do many of the excursions on your own rather than booking through the hotel; be an early riser (those birds are a natural alarm!). Bring binoculars to catch some great bird sightings.
Hidden Valley
The staff at hidden valley were amazing and made our vacation a dream. The property is overwhelmingly beautiful and a great place to hike
Great staff, food and waterfalls
We had a great 3 night stay at Hidden Valley. The staff provides a great personalized experience, catering to any need and following through on their promises. The food was delicious. There is a good variety and the quality is high end. The property itself is beautiful. I highly recommend the property tour, which allows you to see as much as the reserve as possible. In one day we did the Cascade trail, Butterfly falls, Devils falls, Secret falls, and King Vulture lookout. Overall, highly recommended, especially if you love waterfalls!
A delightful stay
It's hard to get to, but worth the trip! Amazing hiking trails for all levels, idyllic waterfalls and swimming holes, all exclusive to lodge guests. You're not likely to share your space with anyone! A pleasant pool and hot tub for after hiking. Dining was superb! Plan on eating all your meals there since it is so remote. We purchased the meal plan to keep things simple. Masterful presentation. The menu was customized based on preferences gathered before arrival. Each staff person was friendly and helpful. The manager and his wife are delightful and ensure that everything is perfect. Other guests raved about the Spa and massage. We'll check that out next time. Intimate, yet private. Can't wait to return. Spend at least three nights. Any shorter is to shortchange yourself!
Challenging
Staff there were great including new management couple. The grounds NEED a lot of updating, pool was only four feet deep, with quite a few missing tiles, very dated. The new managing couple has a lot of work to get it up to par
A luxury resort with its own nature reserve
Hidden Valley Inn is a gem. After a grueling drive to this remote location, you are greeted by a welcoming staff, glass of lemon grass tea and cool towel. The staff is fabulous, and each person calls you by name and strikes up conversation. The room was gorgeous and spacious. The main negative is that there is no air conditioning in the room. With temps in the 90s it was pretty hot and difficult to be in the room during the day. It did cool off at night, but was still difficult to sleep at first. The location in the Mountain Pine Ridge area is very special and with over 7000 acres of trails, waterfalls, lakes and creeks to explore you could easily just stay at the Inn and enjoy your time there. All trails are marked and the staff can come pick you up if you get tired or have any issues (they give you a 2 way radio for safety on the trails). Be sure to take a swim in the cool pool at Butterfly Falls - truly a spectacular location. One issue in this area is that pine beetles killed most of the large pine trees in 2000, leaving the landscape much more open (and hotter) than it used to be.Food at the restaurant was excellent.
Room with a view
Very nice hotel situated right on the beach in Central San Pedro. Our suite was spacious, with a full (small) kitchen, living/dining room, bedroom and bathroom. The hotel has 3 floors but no elevator, so the bellman will need to carry the luggage. At departure time, make sure to call well in advance to have your bags carried down. Ditto for using the hotel golf cart to take you to the San Pedro air strip. Despite "reserving" the car the day before and reminding the front desk clerk 30 minutes before, our ride never showed up and we nearly missed our flight.
Amazing resort!
After an adventurous drive in, we arrived at Hidden Valley Inn. Gorgeous setting, lovely layout with rooms in separate cabanas. Loved the pool area and hot tub. The Inn has miles of private hiking trails, including several amazing private waterfalls. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly and committed to making sure you enjoy your stay. They arranged a tour to Caracol for our group of 3 with a private guide from the hotel, and even helped us arrange a tour with a different tour company for the day after we left the hotel. Highly recommended (but make sure you rent a 4 wheel drive SUV to get there!)
Fantastic Lodge with Outstanding Service!
We stayed July 3rd - 4 nights with no rain during rainy season. Luxury jungle lodge sits among pine & palm trees on a mountain with rain forest a walk below. Temperature’s more comfortable than lower in the valley. We choose basic room - large, nicely furnished. Fine service: 1) Greeted at doorstep, everyone addressed us by name; 2) Decorated room: towels folded into kissing swans, flower petals on bed, handmade card; 3) Kept generator on so we could take late night Jacuzzi; 4) Gave us Walkie-Talkies to hike their 90 sq. mile property & sent someone to check we were OK when we didn’t return by dark; 5) I lacked water shoes for the ATM cave so manager Wayne (co-manages with wife Britt) lent me his shoes (!); 6) Gave me anti-itch cream without asking when I was scratching, 7) Asked what we wanted for dinner (cheeseburger/me, lobster/wife), 8) Wayne & Britt’s hospitality permeate the resort: engaging, fun, and their staff share the spirit: Andy (waiter), Tito (bar), Siomara (front desk)… with 12 rooms felt like royalty. Location’s remote, few food choices , we included breakfast & dinner: excellent food! No charge to add items to continental breakfast. Dinner is 4-courses with 3 entrée choices. Unexpected delight? Hiking Butterfly Falls & Devil's Falls; we swam alone in the pools under the falls (think Tarzan movie)! If driving, rent 4WD: last 18 miles are unpaved logging road, worth the effort to get there!
Beautiful remote setting
The property the inn sits on is amazing and we wished we had planned on a longer stay to take advantage of more of the hiking trails. The service, food, cottages all are lovely. We had our own car and while the roads into the lodge and Caracol are rough, everything was easy to find. The only negative things was there are a lot of mosquitoes on the trails so bring lots of bug spray.
Hidden gem
While the road to Hidden Valley is long, and quite "adventurous", it's well worth the trip. It's a true hidden gem amidst the dense Belizean jungle, surrounded by trees, waterfalls, great hiking trails, bird watching, etc. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub under a star-filled sky with only the light of the full moon. Service staff was there when we needed them, though not overbearing. Make sure you stay there long enough to take advantage of the grounds. We mistakenly used it more as a hotel for our inland adventures (cave-tubing, ATM, ruins, etc.) but the inn itself is deserving of it's own full day or more of just wandering around.
Very quiet. Awesome scenery.
The road to the Inn is very bad. If driving in yourself, you need to have the appropriate vehicle. Make sure the rental company allows your vehicle to go off of paved roads. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The main building at the resort is a house that was converted and the rooms are free standing duplexes a short walk from the main building. When we arrived, we were greeted outside and given a short orientation on the resort and surrounding property. The rooms are nice. There is a phone and fireplace, but no TV or air conditioner. A ceiling fan makes sleep comfortable. The staff kept our room spotless. They also have a fireplace in each room with a stockpile of wood/kindling. This was a nice amenity as it got slightly chilly at night. There is a pool, screen porch, small lounge with reading material, bar, and dining area. 7200 acres of land to explore on foot or by vehicle. Butterfly Falls is amazing and worth the hike. You can swim in the pool at the bottom, but the water is spring fed so it’s a bit cold. You need to be in moderately good shape to go on the hikes. There are walking sticks at the entrances to most trails. I would recommend taking them as they help with all of the rocks/steps you need to navigate. The Cascade Trail is also highly recommended. It follows the river and has numerous primitive bridges across the water. Dining was very good. The chef knows what he is doing. Continental breakfast is othing special: yogurt, cereal, juice, a few piece
Serene setting but a terriblle driving conditions
Hidden Valley is located in the Mountain Pine Ridge. There are dozens of waterfalls on the property (all 20+mintue hike away once you drive to the trail head). I would have put the hotel near at least one of its many natural watering holes. The hikes are worth the effort. The Butterfly falls are stunning. You are very isolated here. The roads to hidden valley are treacherous and terrible. The hotel service was inconsistent, Sometimes it was amazing and other times it was disastrous. When we were checking out, we asked for help with our luggage 3 times before we decided to load it ourselves. However the bartender Tito was so nice and Tiffany was so sweet, that it was hard to give the service a bad rating. I would avoid the front desk lady Neidy. Her advice turned out to be always wrong and often misleading. For example, when I asked about the night hike, she said ".... some guests see jaguars..." We all know that would be extremely rare!!! and not something I would even mention to a patron. She also told us Caracol would be 3 hours away (one way), which is not true. etc etc The general managers Brit and Wayne were really nice. Hopefully they can breath life to the place, which was a bit drab in the evenings. This place overall was mignificant due to the serene setting and nice rooms. Most of the staff really did try very hard to show us a nice time and we enjoyed our time very much. I hope to one day return. A wonderful, unque place.
Great Inn too far away from real roads!
Would never drive three hours down dirt path to hotel again.
GOOD & BAD
The rooms/buildings were very nice. No A/C but not really necessary. The staff was super. Helpful & kind. Very difficult to get to. Extremely rough road. Took us 1:45 minutes to go 16 miles. It was not traffic. ha Extremely pricey once you're there. All the meals were very expensive, because you aren't going any place else. We won't stay there again but I can not say that I wouldn't recommend it. Folks just need to know EXACTLY what they're getting in to. I believe the 4 star may be just a bit of a stretch. The name is very fitting. It is a hidden valley. We were only there for 2 nights & did get a massage for both of us. Our bill on check out was $469.00 US.
Nice place to get away from everything
The Hidden Valley Inn is a nice place to go if you want to go somewhere to get away from everything. You have to be prepared for a long drive on a pretty bumpy road to get there (although they do have an airstrip close by but then if you want to go somewhere, again prepare for a long bumpy ride). The property itself is quite extensive and you have access to some pretty spectacular waterfalls. The accommodations themselves were nice and the food was decent but unless you do a day trip, the resort is the only option for food choices. The staff is extremely friendly and there are so many of them that you don't ever feel like you have to hunt someone down if you have a question or want to arrange a day trip. I would definitely go back and would recommend the place to anyone who wans a nice, quiet, secluded and all inclusive place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Perfect Relaxation Spot
Everything about the hotel was amazing. So many fun things to explore and do. The only comment I would advise to people driving themselves, is be prepared to drive to the middle of nowhere!
Lovely inn for nature lovers
After arriving (long drive) we were greeted by a welcoming/friendly employee and given a complimentary hand massage. The bedroom was adorned with flowers scattered on the bed; we loved the sounds of the birds in the morning.
Very nice resort located in Mountain Pine Ridge
Great service, very good cuisine, great tours. Therefore, it's absolutely necessary to ask Rick (belizeprotours). Very competent guide, especially for fauna, flora, regional and cultural studies. Highly Recommended! The only disadvantage of the lodge: It can be very benificial that theres no WIFI in the cottages, but the main building could have a better Internet connection...
Top location in a very nice and intressting area.
It is nice hidden place in a very intressting area. We enjoed the hiking an the hole Resort.

This is the place to go if you enjoy hiking with a view. The property itself is spectacular, with plenty of waterfalls within hiking distance and a gorgeous night sky. The food there is also great. The bathrooms could be a bit more private, and the hot tub could use some upgrades but the experience more than makes up for it. Oh, it also gets cold here at night, bring a jacket.
