Nice reception and nice room

Nice place to stay

Easy check in with friendly staff. Room a little tired but clean with a comfy bed. Had all the amenities you would need. Easy reach of shops.

Lovely clean and spacious apartment with easy access and good parking. Ideal for an overnight stay on a road trip.

It’s in pretty good shape. I could stay here again but the motel next door is nicer.

Clean rooms. Don't stay here for the restaurant

Lovely, clean, refurbished rooms. Hot and stuffy, though, with no air conditioning and few windows to open, and it wasn't that warm outside. We planned to eat at the restaurant, and the menu was in our room, but upon entering, we were told it was for Chinese bookings only.

Could not get the tv to work

We got what we paid for. Bathroom needs a bit of a revamp. Comfortable beds. Overall happy.

Property is tired but had everything needed for a short stay. Quite a way out of town and difficult to pull out on the busy road at times. We didn’t feel welcomed at check in and the sign in the room telling us we would have to pay a call out fee for the fire service if the smoke alarm was activated wasn’t really welcoming either!

Very poor wifi. Could not connect or stay connected. VERY SLOW AS TO BE UNAVAILABLE.

We were there for 2 nights. The property seems to cater to large overnight groups. The restaurant was sold out both nights. In the evenings and mornings these groups were loud and inconsiderate. The wifi was awful. It kept going in and out. You had to constantly re-sign in. The only complaint about the room itself was that the bed was soft.

New years eve night stay

Nice overnight stay. May be slightly out of town for some but only five minutes in the car.

Quiet, well equipped unit

Nice motel, on the main road but most units we’ll back and with double glazing and good curtains you will get a good sleep. Very nice, helpful receptionist. Full kitchen, including oven. Walk into town via the road along the waterfront is much nicer than main road, takes 30 minutes or so

A night away

Over night stay on way to Christchurch. Great quiet place with convenient parking off street

It was easy to reserve a room, thought it was going to be noisy with being on the ground floor but it felt it was noise proofed, great experience 😀

The room was clean and comfortable. Check-out time was 10am; reception came and knocked on the door at exactly 10am.

There were 3 separate tour groups, there was running children and people knocking on my door all the time was not relaxing at all

Excellent studio for a one night stay. Microwave for heating meals but no other option for self catering. Warm unit with good heating, usual bathroom facilities. We would stay again. Thanks

We had room 7. It was spacious, very clean and bathroom was bigger yhan we expected. There was a microwave, fridge and sink to wash up. Parking is at yhe door. We could not fault anything.

Would stay again. Needed more cost hangers and another pillow. But otherwise it was a good stay.

Disappointed to find out once booked that the in-house restaurant and bar was closed -for the winter - this was not mentioned in the advertising of the room or the services available

was good except manager in restaurant - went for breakfast 0930 and closed and manager said were closed - nothing else no apology no suggestions just stern look like telling us to go - gave impression of being in business to just make money and no personality and that I guess would be my comment on property - no personality - bare essentials OK but thats it

We arrived late and the staff weren’t very helpful, we wanted to eat at the restaurant and we were told it was fully booked though there were plenty of seats???

It’s a good motel, comfortable & clean rooms. Only problem is slow internet sometimes when it’s crowded.

Inability to get consistent wi fi connection. Would frequently be unnable to make a connection or else the connection would "drop off" within a very short period of time.

Quick and simple check in

Heating not wording nor was heated towel rail. Iron was faulty. Hotch potch of utensils, plates etc. laundry needed a good sweep and clean eg drier filter. No bench space. Cupboards didn’t align. Bed was comfortable but overall room was shabby and very basic

This property was dirty- snot on the walls, dirty windows, the toilet roll holder was falling off the wall. There is no art work on the walls at all. The beds were very uncomfortable, very hard. The photos on line are not the unit you stay in.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We appreciated the convenience of having a restaurant on site.

Good parking

The property was OK . The owned needs to deal with the issue of the fire alarm which is very sensitive to steam and the heat of the toaster and folks have to be careful taking a shower not to set it off.

The staff were helpful and friendly😃 Was a clean room but had a stale smell. Had a single bed that was like sleeping on a board or floor. It was so hard and very uncomfortable. If i was to come back again i would ask for another room. Ok place if its just for an overnighter.

We had a awful experience at this motel. The owner who checked us in, was rude,and nasty. There was a mistake with a booking, and she made sure she made more money off us that should not have happened.. I would not recomend this place to anyone.

The Heritage promotes itself as an upper-end motel, and it charges accordingly. It definitely over-promises, and there are far better places in town - where we normally stay. I have used motels in Oamaru four times (multiple nights each stay) over the last six weeks, and the Heritage was not worth the money. North Star and Colonial are better options.

A little dated, it could do with a makeover

The studio room was spacious, clean, tidy, and had everything we wanted. The information folder was useful; The lovely young woman at reception was very friendly and explained everything clearly. We ordered room service which arrived exactly on time and was hot and very tasty.

Easy to find.Did not realise there was no cooking facilities but we got room service from the restaurant for our evening meal, which was very nice, and we had brought bread etc to make toast for breakfast.

Not 4 star

The unit 12A was poorly cleaned. Maintenance has been very neglected. The heated towel rail was hanging off the wall. Vanity doors were loose. Carpet was stained. When I asked for stove to be cleaned it was just covered over with foil. Not 4 star!

Lovely room

Lovely, spacious and clean room. Great shower. Only problem for us was how hard the bed was. We found it much too firm but that is all down to personal preference.

This motel is certainly affordable, which compensates to some extent for it being rather uninspiring. Musty smell, suspicious stains on the underside of the bed cover and a very unstable/unsafe looking armchair. It provided basic kitchen equipment but no hob. It was also extremely hot with no fan. However, the bathroom was spacious and clean and the beds comfortable, so ok for one night.

Restaurant service and food was really good, grounds were in need of some tlc. No milk provided on check in, but room was tidy, service was excellent and location is great

only in town for the night, room was comfortable but starting to show need for some love!!

Convenient location, easy to find. Heater and towel rail not working. Curtain not attached to rail in places. Breakfast good, but soup spoons to eat cereal?????

Good but can improve

It will be great if the hotel can provide proper body wash and shampoo instead of combination. In addition, Wi-Fi is pretty slow in room.

Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the rooms are just quite dated - carpet was stained, bathroom fixtures not in the best shape, and the bathroom wasn’t that clean. Bed was super comfy though.

Poor condition dirty unit

This motel, once really good, is now run down and my room was very dirty - dirty oil like stains on the carpet, and not cleaned well prior to my arrival. I stay in motels 4 or 5 nights every week and this is in poorest condition I've seen for a long time.

Very clean and comfortable rooms, with nice bathroom and kitchen facilities. The restaurant is not yet in full use so there were no cooked meals, but I understand they are phasing this in soon.

Check-in was a breeze and the front desk attendant was super friendly! The hotel room was the perfect size for our family of 4, very clean & with a spacious open concept. Also had free wifi and free Netflix! Lots of parks close by and overall location is fantastic!

Bed was really comfortable, room was a good size and the shower was great. Parking was a bit hard to get out of due to a fountain in the middle so need to be a confident driver to get pass other cars and not hit that (from our room).

Quiet, situated away from the road, very clean and the shower was fabulous!

No free WIFI access as was advertised. Staff didnt seem concerned when I bought it up with them

Great Stay Nice Motel

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was very nice. Clean and tidy. My daughter didn't like the overgrown bush outside her bedroom window but no bigger. 1 bathroom bonus was a spa bath.

Quiet motel close to town. Restaurant was closed but this didn't show on the booking site.

Nice room but the internet was terrible.

All good, clean, car park outside, dvds at reception to use for free. Has restaurant but we didn’t try it.

Comfortable Stay in a Beautiful Town

A very clean and comfortable motel. We all got a great nights sleep. Rooms are set a way back from road so noise was not an issue.

Wifi was so slow with buffering wasn’t worth having. Sky tv no movies sport. Room was not serviced daily. Check in was slow and unorganised.

Wifi was terrible it kept buffering and was slow. Only a minimum of sky tv Chanel’s no movies sports.. room was not fully serviced daily. Overall very expensive for what you get.
