The front desk was very helpful and friendly. We were behind packing on the day to check out and we told the front desk we might need extra 30 minutes to 1 hr and they were okay with it without additional charges. We will come back for sure!

Going downhill fast

Property has gone downhill fast. Have stayed there for years and it seems like they stopped maintenance and only clean half as much as they should. Sad. It was a nice property a few years ago.

Pool was good, beds were very comfortable, nice kitchenette, but 3rd floor hallway smelled of cigarettes, an ok breakfast but not good, dirty Q tips found behind our bed and lots of dog feces on the lawn

Discriminatory Practices and Poor Customer Svc

The hotel itself is decent with comfortable beds and spacious dwellings. However, the owners/managers of this establishment participate in discriminatory practices in terms of billing their customers. Prior to booking with them, I inquired about their security deposit and was given a fixed amount. When I arrived to check in, they attempted to put a hold on my card for 3 times as much under the guise of me being an out of state customer, which was untrue, as I had been living in the area since the previous month. I really wanted to stay another week, but when my husband and I inquired about how much the stay would be, the same manager who twice tried to charge my card with the higher deposit quoted a price that was 3 times more than was was quoted on multiple online sources. I decided to file a complaint on the hotel's corporate site, and the manager responded by having the check out crew knock on my door the day before my schedule check out and tell me I was supposed to check out today. In all my time of booking accommodations, I have never heard of an establishment discriminating on a deposit based on where one lives, and being deceptive about the practice over the phone. Also, the hot water went out here in the middle of freezing outside temperatures, and the staff didn't even bother to notify the guests of the issue.

Overall, the place was clean and our room was cozy. My only concern was that in the bathroom, our toilet seat looked like it had been in a fire. Sort of melted. Other than the toilet seat the room was clean along with the fridge, etc. I would book here again but if the same toilet seat is in the next room; I would definitely change my mind.

Nice hotel just needs a little work on certain areas an the $50 extra a day is kindve insane but other that that not bad. And need to be updated as well., couches are old and the desk chair had stains all over it , the shower water doesn’t get hot the toilet flushes powerful but not the toilet paper really honest review no shade.

Not so good

Comfortable room, the Internet was lousy, kept kicking me off, going in and out. Also, when we needed a cart to check out, none were available. They let residents keep them in their room overnight.

Such friendly staff

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. My only problem with the shower was not hot enough.

The room was bigger tham expected. There was a full sized fridge ,a stove top, 2 Tvs a desk and a couch. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Usual breakfast food including waffles.Nice pool.

Needs some work

We spent a weekend at this very affordable facility. It was showing signs of aging, but was suitable for our needs. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will definitely consider staying here in the future.

Was nice

Great experience. Felicia checked us in and was so friendly and welcoming and made the start to our weekend amazing. Not only was she sweet to myself, my mom and my puppy but I also witnessed the same kindness with other hotel guests. The room was clean and fully supplied which i was impressed with having stayed at multiple other hotels over the years visiting my mom. I always get a suite with a kitchenette. It was clean & stocked with all supplies which in the past i have seen some hotels been severely lacking in dishes & sometimes even linens. We had a great experience and i will be booking for my future stays. Thank you again to Felicia she deserves kudos.

Rooms were specious and nicely done. Beds were comfortable. I recommend 3rd floor so you can't hear people walking above you.

Great place for quick one night stay and it did not break the bank

WHile it was far from the nicest place that I ever stayed, it was even further from being the worst. I would happily stay there again!

Help I'm stuck

Was afraid I was going to get locked in the bathroom in my room. The door latch would stick and it was a guessing game. Thankfully my quest could let me out from the outside. And of course I forgot to tell the front desk. I used the trash can to keep it shut.

Stayed briefly for a funeral and it was everything we needed.

Very nice place and staff. My room was in good condition, but the kitchen area smelled like someone had cooked fried rice and seafood throughout my stay

The front desk was very friendly. The only complaint I have is that the outlets in the bathroom and the one nearest the refrigerator (directly in front of the bathroom door) were not working, So, it was tough for me to get ready and use a hairdryer while the rest of my family were still sleeping.

The staff was very accommodating! Not the best breakfast however, but that’s about the only downside.

There was an awful smell in both of our rooms.

It’s a little outdated. Elevator sounded old. Hallways were definitely dingy and smelled like cigarettes. Rooms were decent. You can tell it was outdated. The tub was a little old looking. The handle bar in the tub, there was a one inch hole near the hinges. I wouldn’t trust it to be safe if someone had use it, to get up. I liked that it was close to a lot of stores and eateries. Felt safe around the area.

Pretty good but no hot breakfast

We got an amazing price for a really nice suite room. This worked out great traveling with kids. However I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to sleep in that pull out bed. So the kids just slept in bed with us. Maybe I misread, but the free breakfast is pretty sub par. Waffles, breads, yogurt and cereal only. No hot food. Also the drain to our tub wouldn’t stay open so we had to rig it with a straw, otherwise every shower was a bath.

Not a pleasant experience

I loved the fact it was like a mini apartment, but they had ants coming in from out side and they was aware of this, and thecutomer service was awesome, although management could of compensated me a believe for the ants, and the fact that i had to switch rooms, and they still charged me the same price.

Was a decent stay. They’ve tried to upgrade the facilities. However, the furniture is still outdated. The bed was uncomfortable. The walls had cracks and some electrical outlet plates were not on the walls. The shower was old as well. I’m also not a fan of the price hikes they do when there are events in town.

Air conditioning

Our air conditioner in the room would only blow warm air. I let the front desk know and they said they would send someone up to look at it. We had to leave for a concert and when we returned the A/C was still broken. It also didn't look like anyone came to the room while we were out. I went back down to the desk to see if there was anything that could be done and was told no. The temperature in the room was in the upper 80's for the entire stay. I feel the staff must have known about the issue prior to our arrival and sold the room anyway.

Part of the baseboard fell off the wall. Looks like it had been repaired before but didn't stick

Get Your Act Together!

The door lock was defective, the air conditioner didn’t work, our 3rd floor room had ants and after five only the receptionist was there to address problems. She said she was ‘new’ and the next morning, when we repeated what was wrong with the room, the other receptionist said that other rooms on that floor had the same complaints. The rooms were shopworn and the whole experience was substandard in comparison to what we paid for the room.

Very good except the amount of our stay plus incidentals hold was on my card that I booked with and a different card that I wanted to pay with at the hotel…. Made it very stressful with little money to be able to be used through our weekend.

Sonic temple weekend, 5th time staying at this location. Starting to really shows signs of being worn down. We had ac issue first night but was repaired the next day. Breakfast was out of everything on Friday morning and then rest of week was your usual hotel breakfast but once was absolutely amazing. Staff was good except for early morning maid service a lil too around 9am. Will consider again next year but will explore other options

Property and room very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Two minor plumbing issues in the bathroom, staff has happy to hear about the issues so they can be resolved. I would be happy to stay here again.

Everything was perfect

The room was spacious (we had a suite) and had kitchen facilities. The room was clean, but lacked some minor maintenance (bathroom lights not fully working, missing a toilet seat bolt--which my husband got a bolt from the front desk and repaired, and the kitchen was lacking in utensils for both cooking and eating). We were conveniently close to the freeway (though we didn't hear freeway noise), and close to shopping. We were just a short distance from downtown and the airport. Overall, it was a good stay and I would definitely see us staying here or at another Hawthorn again.

Elevator didn’t work and the breakfast was terrible also

Liked the space with the rooms but it did not look like the pictures and was dirty in a lot of places especially the couch. Very stained. Wipe everything even head boards those were dirty too.

The property was very rundown and in need of a remodel. There was a hole in the door of our bathroom that had been patched poorly, the room was dirty, with stains on the sheets, marks all over the walls, hair in the shower and stains on the chair and the couch. Very disappointing.

We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of space in the suite. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

Bigger lady at the desk is very rude and snippy, there’s a $300 deposit fee they don’t tell you about and I brought my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day and we saw a roach in our room

More than I expected. Suite with a full size refrigerator electric stove pots pans dishes.

Clean, quiet. Love it! Our room had a whole kitchen in it. Stovetop even!

Uncomfortable Bed

The staff was excellent. The bed was very uncomfortable, and there was a cockroach in the kitchen.

Friendly staff

The elevator was broken when we got there and we were first assigned a room in the second floor when we asked for handicap accessible. They did move us to the first floor after getting into the room and it was missing a coffee maker. The cleaning people kept stealing our bar of soap and replacing it with a new one. We started putting it away so they wouldn't keep wasting them. They didn't vacuum until the fourth day of our stay. There were always ants in the counter with the coffee even after the breakfast was put away. The breakfast was disappointing because they did not offer eggs, bacon, sausage, or other proteins. They had hard boiled eggs that were kept cold and they were gross tasting. They didn't restock after big groups went through so we never saw the complete selection.

Please do not stay in this property. We had to switch rooms because the first room had mold covering the ac unit. The mildew smell was terrible. The second room wasn’t cleaned properly, there was crumbs on the living room floor and the cabinets were visibly soiled. We still found mold in the bathroom so we checked out after one terrible night.

Found roaches in our room, when I told the front desk clerk all she said was sorry we are trying to fix that issue.

Everything was great! Clean rooms, excellent customer service, and a nice breakfast. I will be back!

HORRIBLE DIRTY

The room according to the front desk was cleaned before we checked in. When We checked in it was not clean. Dishes were dirty, food on the wall and stuff spilled on the carpet. When house keeping came in all they did was take EVERY single towel in my room even the folded/clean ones and NOT replace it with new towels. They also took the trash bags OUT of the trash can and didn't replace the bag. They did not wipe anything down nor did they make the bed. This was done 2 out of the 3 times housekeeping was in my room. The door latch that you switch over the inside to stop the door from opening was broken and locked me out of the room 2 times with NO one inside. I had a bottle of about $180 worth of prescription pills that disappeared while I was staying there. I had another week booked at this hotel and I cancelled it and went to a different hotel in the area because of the above. Think twice before going here!!

I really liked leaving the property. This is an apartment complex for chain smokers not a hotel.

Disappointing Stay

When checking in late the first night the gentleman at the desk was very rude and hateful. He commented that my credit card was invalid when after taking to the CC company my card was never ran or processed. The room was dirty, the shower had water stains and cracks in the ceiling, someone above us was so loud it was impossible to sleep for two days. I ran into the gentleman that was at the desk again and told him he never ran my card. He said he didn't care and if I didn't like it to take a card from the counter and complain! This was actually the third and last time we will stay at this location.

Convenient near the highway, and the heated pool was great for a trip in December!

Very dusty

Room and bathroom were very dusty. Looked lije it was not dusted for a few weeks.

When we walked in the lady was super friendly but warned us the elevator was out of order. Offered us a refund if needed. I told her that i really like the hotel and have stayed there before and will again. So we climbed to the 3rd floor. It was just an overnight so it was ok, but im having knee surgery next month so it was not convenient.

Good beds, but toilet would not flush properly. Quality of carpet and furnishings was definitely in need of updating or repair.

Room was very large and spacious has a kitchen and set up like a studio apartment. Smelled of horrible smoke , which I smelled all night. Shower ceiling had mold , Floors were dirty. Room felt like it wasn’t really cleaned before it was sold to me . Would never stay again

I wouldnt recommended anyone staying here.. super dirty.. smoke smell forsure.. toilet and head board dirty. Floors nasty, breakfast was nothing to ride home about. The only good part of the whole stay was the pool.. and the nice lady at the front. Def find another place to stay if your in the area.

The hotel staff was great, very polite and friendly. They made my complaints not so bad. However the towels were yucky the air conditioner didn’t work the curtains didn’t close and were falling from the rack, lastly my daughter woke up to a spider in her hair in bed.

Loved our stay!!

The hotel was amazing. Very friendly staff checked us in. We were shock on how nice the room was with the living room area, kitchen, and 2 queen beds. After a long softball tournament, it was nice and comfy to come to at the end of each day. The pool was a bit cold but nice, big, and clean!!

Wouldn’t Recommend Staying Here!

The staff was very nice and the service was also nice but the room wasn’t cleaned proper and there was much room but the bathroom was very small. The free breakfast wasn’t good and the food tasted bad.

We arrived very late (2:30qm) and there were people drinking in the parking lot. People were walking around shoeless in the hotel and others were vaping. There was music playing in a nearby room. The room was crappy and the hotel seemed sketchy.

All good, except no eggs for breakfast.

Great POOL room needs work!!

The pool was great and refreshing!! Actually clean!! The room was 305, opened the door had an old sock n smoke smell..NASTY!! Bathroom had pee on the bottom of thr toliet and seat broke off and toliet moved !! Kitchen looked clean but the silverware was a fork and the rest well not really there.. it had 2 beds.. the sheets was dirty and old dead bed bugs in it...dust everywhere.. so i went to the dollar tree to get stuff to clean it!! I had to have air spray to try to cover the smell, got sheets from i guess a housekeeper to change my own sheets and had to take a broom to sweep the carpet!cleaned the whole room muself and sprayed the top edges of thr beds wirh 91 % rubbing alchol to ensure no more bed bugs!! Called and spoke to thr front desjk and it was a total blow off.. i asked for a few trash bags..nothing!! Ice machine on the 3rd floor broken and boy it was very interesting!! If the room could be fresh and sheets clean, bathroom fixed and dusted and NO signs of bed bugs.. i loved the pool and was great on a hot day and located close to the events and shopping!! I paid 175.00 to stay over night and clean my own room with no helpto fix the issue!! The lady on Saturday morning check on at 830 am was the best!! She at least said she was sorry!! The lady checked me in acted like she just didnt care!! She also acted different from when another guest checking in then myself!! I am mixed and thry were white.. idk...i hope this was just an over sight!! I hate to think

Great hotel, great location, only thing I would change is the bedroom would be cold but the living room area would be stuffy. But wasn’t horrible would definitely stay again!

Staff were nice enough. The room had a HORRIBLE odor (Dirty animals? Old smoke? We could not figure it out.) Stove top did not work. Bathroom outlet did not work. Stained bedding. Hair in the shower…

Some attention

It was a nice hotel however the rooms need some attention! Our room had a light fixture hanging out, the shower curtain and curtain in the window were both torn, and the lock on the window was not attached. There breakfast was ok ok but not a lot of food to choose from, they offered the same thing every day!

One night stay

Suite was very clean, quiet and accommodating. Clerk was very friendly. Conveniently located next to grocery and dining.

Room was clean. Smell of smoke in halls and unclean smell in stairwell. Stains on couch. No batteries for tv and could not get them replaced by staff. Very roomy for the money.

Hot Shower - Forget about it!

Hotel was okay, but middle of winter and cant get hot water for shower - o it was a warm shower. Staff directed me to manager Ajay. it has been 48 hours + and Ajay has not returned call. Sofa in the suite was very noticabley dirty. Lots of hotels in area, most less expensive.

French fries on the floor of our room, plastic cup in closet, pull out sofa mattress tore so badly you could see inside it and the springs, bug in bathroom, no silverware, heater/air made a loud noise every time it kicked on, the front door wouldn't open upon arrival called hotel lady was snippy about it.

Not a place to stay

The hallways smelled like weed and our room smelled like somewone had cooked fish in our room. The tub faucet dripped all night.

Did not stay at Hawthorn. Apparently, they overbooked the hotel. I was handed a room key for another hotel adjacent to this one and was told my room was there.

Ok Stay

My stay was ok. Bed sheet was kind of dirty on one bed. Pullout bed didn’t have any sheets or blankets on it or to be found to put on it. They lost my reservation for the second day stay and had to go through the whole process to check in again.

Ice machine on floor was broke, sheets on couch was dirty, no hair dryer, shower looked dirty, only one trash can in a suite, milk was sour for continental breakfast, some tv stations were in spanish and had voice commands for the blind, couln't figure out how to turn them off with the remote.

Bad customer service

Upon check in it took at least 10 min before someone appeared at the desk. When she appeared she had food in her mouth and on the sides of her mouth. I had to repeat myself several times to her. During the stay, trash was still full in the room. There were red thick stains on the comforter and a bug was seen crawling on one of the beds. Spoke with front desk rep named Moh who was extremely rude. Claimed there were no other rooms available and that there was no one available to at least spray the room. After being asked several times for a manager Moh phoned the mgr himself and stated the mgr did not want to speak to me and he would give a refund but we would have to leave immediately at 3am. When I finally spoke to the manager he states that I should not be calling this late and I can leave. We ended up sleeping in the car for the remainder of the night. Their service is absolutely horrible. The room set up and decor was nice but a better cleaning crew is most definitely needed.

Room had a smell to it and I had to use a cooking pot for ice. Didn’t have a an ice pitcher in my room

there was nothing I liked there were multiple issues that we did not like: i.e. they allowed a dog(puppy) to sit on the dining room tables, the exercise room equipment that would not even turn on, staff not helpful
