The Hanoi Lion Botique was an amazing place to stay at. The staff was friendly, professional and anxious to help make our stay in Vietnam wonderful. Austin at the desk helped arrange the most spectacular trip to HaLong Bay and guided us to spots within the city as well. Small well maintained Botique hotel that cares.

They were incredibly accommodating and allowed us to check out late. Everything is walkable. Great place!

Excellent stay, service, and area!

We stayed at Hotel Lion at the end of a 3 week tour of Vietnam. After staying in half a dozen other hotels, this one was by far the best. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The actual hotel was just renovated. And the area was absolutely perfect. Just a block from train street and so many fantastic food places. The breakfast was pretty good, but the beef pho was our favorite! All around great price for everything you get. If we ever come back to Hanoi, we are staying here again!

Front desk staff is very accommodating and very courteous. Mr. Austin in the front desk accommodate all our needs . 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Hotel is nice and very clean.

very satisfied especially with staff

The property and rooms are clean. The staff is top notch. They were very helpful with arranging airport transportation and tours. The booking process was easy and stress free. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic. Good quality ingredients and tasty with a nice variety.

The staff could not have been more exceptional, in every possible way, too many to mention. The location was perfect for exploring the old quarter and witnessing the historic street train. Absolute wonderful quick stay.

A Jewel of a hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi with the best service ever received in a hotel nothing is too much trouble. A lovely breakfast with freshly cooked omelette and lots of fresh fruit in the afternoon they offer afternoon tea on the house a really nice touch the room was very nice and lovely bathroom a great stay considering the great price will be back again many thanks to all the staff ☘️☘️☘️☘️

Richard is a wonderful front office staff, he welcomed us and took good care of us until v finished our one week's vacation. He made us feel at home. Breakfast is too good.

It is an amazing hotel. The staff service was wonderful. They will greed us thru message before check in. Any enquiry, you can following up with them anytime. They also recommend us a list of tourist spot. The hotel offer us a free beer bath and thank you gift. While the stay, we asked for help to order food by grab food delivery. The staff are very patient and professional. It is highly recommanded.

The GM Justin and his staff were outstanding and truly the highlight of the property. They bent over backwards to be accommodating and were both kind and thoughtful, always willing to help. I cannot recommend the hotel enough it truly is a charming, smaller boutique hotel, just perfect!

Recommended hotel in the old town.

Our flight landed at 7am and we arrived at the hotel about 9. Check in was 2pm. We hoped to leave our bags and fill in time until check in. They got our rooms ready for 10am...fantastic! Staff were great and hotel is lovely and in a great are of the old town. Recommended.

Excellent staff and location! Very good value. I booked the Premium Room, 1 Queen Bed, Balcony, City View, which has two large sliding doors. Perfect if you prefer windows, but street noise might be an issue for some people. The AC worked great, and the room was spacious. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a lot of Eastern and Western options. I would choose this hotel again.

Great value and location

Great location on west side of the Old Quarter. Very close to the popular Train Street. Had a big family room (king and double beds) with a large balcony at a reasonable rate. Rooftop restaurant/bar with city views.

The hotel is in a great location and has been beautifully redone. The buffet breakfast has a good variety. The room is a good size, except the bathroom is dark. The main issue we had was communication with staff. All employees were nice, but when we had issues with the air conditioning shutting off and not working we had to ask for help 4 different times. The staff did not communicate with each other or even come up to our room to assist. Only after the 5th attempt did we finally get assistance (2 nights later). There are many boutique hotels in the Old Town; hopefully they have trained their staff more the Hanoi Lion.

This was a lovely hotel in a good location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The staff are friendly and the spa is good, although you have to specifically request that the sauna be turned on if you want to use it. Breakfast was a little limited but the food in Hanoi is so good you don’t even really need it! The AC in the room was a little temperamental but otherwise a good stay.

I stayed in the executive double room with the city view. the room felt modern, shower pressure was great and the bed was comfortable. the buffet breakfast had a good selection, but needs dietary labels, and could have been more vegetarian friendly. the staff were kind to make me some fresh rolls though as they were only meat options. the location is great and felt easy walking distance to most things. when I visited in march there was very loud construction happening which went most of the day so no sleep ins or naps was possible. I mentioned this at check out and the staff said they could have moved me, but it would have made sense to have put me away from the noise in the first place. so maybe just check ahead if this is still happening if you are considering booking.

The location of this hotel is in the old quarter which is walking distance to all the attractions. The staff were amazing and greeted us daily upon interactions with respectful and friendly attitude and not expected anything from you. The buffet breakfast was the best of all places we have had on our trip to Thailand and Vietnam. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely come back. Well done!

Great experience, nice location in Old Quarter

Had a enjoyable stay. The location is good to walk around old quarter. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a delightful arrival welcome with decorated room as it's our wedding anniversary trip. Breakfast is well served. We had some concern with the shower, the staffs were very attentive and had their best effort in working with it.

Amazing spa and excellent staff. Breakfast was delicious as well.

Location closed to Train Street

Pleasant stay. Room had no external window for natural light which was fine for a one night stay. We did have a window that opened into the hotel corridor which was a little strange though. Rooms were not entirely sound proofed and we could hear neighbours talking in the early morning. Still, room amenities provided were of good quality, bed comfortable and breakfast had good variety. Overall a nice stay and I would recommend particularly for the location which was less than 5 minutes walk to train street.

Great hotel with excellent service. Location was excellent for access to the Old Quarter. Inviting lobby area, excellent breakfast and room was very nice. Due to the location there was traffic noise heard but minimal considering how busy the area was. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Great staff, beautiful hotel, great breakfast

The boutique hotel was a very nice hotel. The newly built hotel did have small rooms but was comfy. The only thing was we did not have, was a outside window,which was ok, since the city and streets are noisey with traffic and people. But we did not have, control of the air conditioner. There was a goid system put in , but you had to phone down to the front desk to put on the air con. Their reasoning was because the Chinese guests did not like the air con on, and the air con was controled by each floor, we did get our way and have it on. I would stay again at this hotelThe breakfast was very goid with lots of variations of food. The area was within walking distance to the Famous Street Train, great restaurants, shopping, Hop on Hop off bus, and the lakes.

A beautiful hotel with excellent service

The hotel is centrally located in the old quarter of Hanoi, all of the staff are polite and helpful and my room was lovely.

The hotel is nicely located within walkable distance to Train Street and Beer Street. The included breakfast is one of the best we have had in any hotel anywhere.

This is our second stay at the Lion. The staff is wonderful, the location good for exploring the old town, and the hotel is very comfortable. We love staying here and hopefully will be able to come again.

Highly recommended

Perfect old town location, close to train st and restaurants and lovely buffet breakfast. The staff are incredible and their warm friendly service was much appreciated. Rosie on the tour desk was able to find really great deals on cruises and day trips and made the booking process super easy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I highly recommend this hotel.

I am so satisfied with this hotel . We stayed 4 times during our trip in Vietnam , and everytime our stay has been excellent. The hotel is well located , sparkling clean and the staff is extremely kind. Since on this time we could not get the room we requested, the staff offered us a message and free transportation to the airport . It is truly a pearl!

This is the standard that other hotels in Vietnam should aspire to. Big clean room where everything works. Great staff and an awesome breakfast. Cannot recommended highly enough.

Staff at Lion Boutique are extremely hospitable and friendly. The aircons in the rooms are the best in Hanoi, they are strong and most importantly quiet. Room was spacious and bathroom has more than enough space. I would like to give a special mention to the staff at the front who are knowledgeable and attentive. They make sure you are settled into your vehicle when checking out before heading back into the lobby. Overall great stay, great location and great service.

I don’t know if I would call this a 4 star property. The rooms were spacious and we loved the balcony option however it seems as though the balcony door couldn’t shut completely therefore we were able to hear everything that was going on in the street below. Front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The condition of the room was not the best, you could see they tried to paint over stains on the wall but didn’t not match the original wall paint. The cleanliness of the bathroom was not 4 star quality as there was staining and water bubbles on the walls that were again painted over. The bathtub was waaay to tall to get in and out of even for my 5’7” fiance. Dangerous if you slip. Towels seemed dingy.

Great location within the Old Quarter. The staff were nice, professional, and able to help when needed. We had a few consistent problems with having hot water in our room every night, but the staff managed to fix this once we called reception. We stayed on the 2nd floor facing the street - I would probably avoid the lower floors facing the main street as there is a nightclub across the street, and it gets very loud in the middle of the night (drunk people outside, loud bass music) on the weekends. Breakfast is served in the basement restaurant and was a great offering of different plates. Note, although the official website doesn't advertise a gym, it looks like they converted one of their spa treatment rooms into a small gym..so better than nothing

Hot water wasn’t working properly

If possible I would give 10 stars to this hotel . Super clean , well located , the staff is very kind and friendly and very keen to satisfy every request . It is a pearl in Hanoi !

It took some time to regulate the room temperature. There was a long black hair in the bed when we arrived - not complaint-worthy but still calls into question the thoroughness of the cleaning. Bed wasn’t super comfortable but acceptable.Water pressure and temperature were hit and miss, but such is the way of things in a developing country. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Excellent stay in quiet part of Old Quarter, but only moments from the action. Great staff that go out of their way to help with everything. The manager even brought our wallet out to the airport when we left it behind.

Excellent location

hotel was in the heart of old city. easy to walk everywhere. LOTS to see and do. room clean, bed comfortable. only negatives - construction noise from next door - VERY loud jackhammer from 6:30am to after 7pm every day. bathtub is VERY tall ( more than 32" ). if you older or disabled, no way you will be able to get in and out of shower.

We like staff, brakfast and good service. Spetialy want to say thank you to Tracy, she helped us a lot, as we are vegeterian and she was taken care about ours breakfasts. All personal in buffet was exelent.

Rosie and all the staff exceeded our expectations! They were attentive, friendly and professional. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade on our last night! Request a room with windows, 4th floor or higher. A decent selection for the breakfast buffet. You can request for pho or eggs. The hotel is conveniently located in the Old Quarter and walkable to most sights. So many dining options nearby. I would definitely stay here again!

The location is convenient, you can find eateries and shopping if you walk out to the main road. The hotel room is comfortable and clean, the only issue is they only provide one pillow each. The staffs at the breakfast room are all so cheerful and they greet you warmly each time they see you and are very attentive to your needs and the food options are great 👍

Comfortable and stylish hotel in old quarter

I was upgraded to a family room on my one night stay before heading to halong bay. Which was spacious, comfortable and stylishly decorated. The hotel was clean and well located within the old quarter of hanoi.

The staff were all amazingly helpful, the location was very convenient to most attractions, and last but not least. The free breakfast was amazing. Often better quality and choices than local restaurants. We LOVED our stay here.

This is a very nice hotel in Old Quarter making it super convenient to explore Hanoi. It is close to many attractions, street stalls, and market. Service was excellent and staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast also had great selection and was delicious! The room was spacious and clean. i am the easy wake up type if noisy area, hence requested 2, 3 months back during booking, for a HIGH FLOOR unit, but hotel given me the 3rd floor and worst , someone keeping driling on and off during day time for 2 days very disappointed of this arrangement !!

The location in the Old Quarter is very convenient and I could walk to everything I needed. The breakfast was good and I enjoyed the spa services they offered. The roundtrip airport pickup service was also very nice and affordable. I will always stay here when visiting Hanoi.

Best sleep and stay in Hanoi.

The room is clean and bedding is great. Aircon is cold. Breakfast is amazing, so many choices. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Location is only about 3 mins to the train tracks, easy to get to the lake.

The area was nice, relatively close to many of the popular tourist spots. The hotel has an amazing breakfast buffet, and there are some good spots for lunch and dinner nearby.

This was a great place to stay for being out and about all day. The staff was AMAZING and friendly. My only gripe was there were no windows in my room. I slept like a baby though! The staff and location were the key parts and I had no issues as a solo female traveler here. I’d come back!

The hotel is in a historic building but has been updated and in keeping with the historic architecture. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff were helpful and always pleasant. Many resturants close by. Highly recommend

Staff is courteous and attentive to our needs and quickly resolved issues to my satisfaction. Hotel is very well maintain and clean. Kudos to the staff for keeping us dry from the heavy rain the moment we arrived exiting the car to entering the hotel. Very much appreciated!

Excellent hotel with the friendliest staff

I highly recommend Hanoi Lion Boutique to others. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. Once you exit the hotel, you are half a block from the busy streets of Hanoi. The location is super convenient to food, shopping, and tourist sites. There is a nightclub across the street from the hotel, and it was a bit loud on the weekend but that didn’t bother me or my sleep. The breakfast buffet in the morning has a good selection and great coffee. The hotel staff were all polite, friendly, and always helpful. Johnny Quach was the hotel concierge team member, who helped me during my 6-day stay in Vietnam. Johnny is the best concierge person I have ever met. I connected with Johnny before arriving in Hanoi to arrange for hotel pick-up and a Ha Long Bay tour. After arriving at the hotel, I met Johnny and he let me know I could WhatsApp him for any questions. Whenever I had questions, Johnny helped me out (even once on his day off since he was the only local person I could WhatsApp). I was traveling alone in Vietnam, and Johnny made me feel like I had a trusted friend in Vietnam. By the end of my hotel stay, I was sad to leave this wonderful hotel and the hotel team members.

This hotel was amazing! They helped us schedule transportation to and from the airport and upgraded our room. The service was exceptional, the room was beautiful and the location was perfect! I highly recommend!

1. The room below 4 level is no good window view! When I book the room , it mentioned city views! At the beginning I collected the key, it was 2nd level facing a building. I complained that it is totally not what are mentioned in the booking show list. I wanted higher floor and with Balcony that I paid for. The reception said full house only 3rd level and Family room available and I asked to show me the Family room at 5floor. When I saw the 5th floor Family room, I wanted to change my room to this family room. Reason have big balcony but not city views of which it fine! The reception said I need to top up extra fee per night, I disagreed and she telephone her BOSS. The Boss well explained that Hanoi hotel in that area , Hotel Building most of it does not have city views and big balcony! I booked because the show list mentioned have those items. I asked for free upgrade, the Boss agreed to my request to make good! Well done, BOSS! You listened to customer and you surely pleased me! Thanks you! Looking forwards to staying in your GOOD HOTEL in near future!

We stayed for 4 nights in July 2023. We booked a balcony room, but the room we were given didn't have one - just a big window overlooking the street - it was nice to have daylight in the room, but a shame not to be same to sit out and enjoy the street. Breakfast was a buffet, but lots of the food was uncovered and there were lots of fruit flies present, which was not very appetising. The room itself was clean, the hotel is very well presented and the staff were excellent. Rosie on the main desk was very helpful.

Perfect hotel

Staff were incredibly nice and sweet. Food was great. Location was perfect. Room was luxurious. Only regret is not staying in Hanoi longer to stay at the hotel for longer.

Of the hotels we stayed at in Vietnam, this was by far our favorite! The staff, rooms, drinks, everything was exceptional. And you really can't beat the location! Couldn't recommend this place more. Our only regret is that we didn't stay here longer.

The Lion has only reopened 6 months ago. Everything is new and clean and tidy. Very quiet rooms in a busy part of town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Get the free breakfast. Vietnamese or western breakfasts available with different pho’ Monday to Wednesday.

The staff are super friendly and arranged our motorbike rental. The room we had was really well sized and clean.

Old hotel but very clean and well maintained. Staff are exceptionally way above standard and professional. Decent breakfast was included in the stay. It’s between old shops so easy to miss. Overall stay 9/10

Truly an amazing hotel! It is in a great location that is near, tourist sights, resturants, and AWESOME cocktail bars. The staff are extremly helpful, and many of them speak English. My wife and I also got massages...we enjoyed them soo much...we got them a second time. This is a BRAND new hotel with large rooms. The bathrooms are particularly large. I'm 6'3 and 250lbs and its the first room in Asia that I have had more than enough space! Rosie, thr front desk agent, can give you great recomendations for bars and resturants. Dale, the bartender, makes a great egg coffee!

The property is quite unique and very clean. The staff was very helpful and very nice , and accommodate during my stay.
