Old
Needs renovation asap. Old rooms in very bad condition.
Needs some maintenance. Check out time at 11:00 is a joke!
Awful
Saw when I woke up in the morning (I got in late so went straight to sleep without paying much attention) that the bed had a few bugs in it and sheet was blood stained
Property facilities need updating. Otherwise all ok.
Good location but the building needs to be renovated.
The peace and beauty of it in a wonderful city.
Close to city center, this was second stay here , left with pleasure.
Overall it was a very nice facility it is not up to date furnitures etc but it was clean and nice
Excellent service
Helpful and polite personel made us feel like at home
Right on the beach, great breakfast, friendly staff.
The view of the room was nice. Everything was clean. The staff was excellent
Overall good
It was really a nice experience
Nice sized rooms with fantastic beach view
It’s good place to stay in
Nice property. Room was big. Great view of the beach. Pool was good. No bath plug. Area was boring. Very expensive laundry services. Every time we went to the gym, it was closed.
Right on the beach, able to walk to town, or a short drive. Great breakfast.
Bed must be replaced,
A bit outdated
Nice place but staff could have better attitude according to 5 stars. Rooms and bathrooms are outdated.
Classic & comfortable hotel next to city center
The hotel is located in a very convenient place (around 10 minutes walk from the city centers and the coast line where some nice restaurants are located). It is a classic hotel, with comfortable beds but a little old-fashioned look and feel. Staff was very polite, rooms were very clean and the breakfast was ok.
Nice staying although premises need to be renewed and refurbished
Spacious rooms, family hotel
One of the top 3 hotels in Alexandroupoli to stay in. Although Astir is the newest part of the hotel, I choose to stay in Egnatia side whenever I travel. It’s always more appealing to me with its furnitures and old style. Always clean and spacious rooms. Parking is very easy and safe at the front parking lot of the hotel. Breakfast could be better though, selections should be more diverse, needs enrichment because its been the same since 7-8 years that I know of. Better to order your coffee through waiters, not get it on your own from a very average coffee machine.
Great Stay
Went here for a company offsite and they accommodated us to our need with some office supplies and a nice conference room.
It was a beautiful hotel with lots to offer. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shops
Old but with Good Staff
The Egnatia is an older hotel and it shows. The furniture is old. The decor is old. The pool is old. The HVAC is old too. That said, the staff is pleasant, helpful and welcoming. That makes the stay worthwhile. In terms of COVID the hotel is taking all appropriate measures - requiring masks and changing the buffet into one that guests choose, but do not approach or handle the food and maintain social distances.
Not worth the cost, way overpriced food is horrible and not very clean
Great stay
Good bed, room fine, food great, nice staff.
Great hotel in beautiful location
Ηotel is in lovely area with own private beach and park. Ample breakfast clean area and pool. Only nuisance, the VERY noisy air suction motor (bathroom has no window) feeling like being in a ships engine room....
Next to the water, nice landscaping, very close to city center
Definetely the best hotel in Alexandroupolis
Overall a very nice hotel, very close to the city center with its own parking and beach as well as pool. I am from the area and was pleasantly surprised with the high quality in both service and facilities. Me and my husband were there for a getaway weekend but we would definetely like to go back there with our children. It seemed to be the perfect place for any kind of company. Staff was very polite and eager to help. Only con was that it was very busy and even though the staff really tried its best several times we had to wait a lot to get a sit for breakfast or to get our food served.
Excellent. Grand Egnatia Hotel is a Five stars hotel
Grand Hotel Egnatia
Very good service by all the staff.
Location is great. It is very close to city.Another thing is tempurate of the room.It is very cold outside and room’s temperature is perfect.Staff is always great. It is not our first stay.I’ll go again to Egnetia.
very good service, very good location sea and trees, close to the center, nice restaurants and cafes nearby, very good breakfast, nice meals, very clean, had a good time, I would like to go again.
Very nice hotel clise to everything, right by the beach, short walking distance to restaurants and cafes
Good to stay again
Very good decorated, comfortable, clean room.
Hospitality and customer service of hotel staff was exceptional.
Breakfast should be improved. Except breakfast everything is good.
I was expecting more from a 5 stars
The big problem for a 5 star hotel is the bathroom. There is no bidet nor the Turkish tap into the wc (which I personally prefer). Moreover, the fan in the bathroom was extremely noisy (lack of maintenance?). There is a nice gym open all day long and a good restaurant which basically saves the day.
Beautiful hotel, amazing breakfast, perfect location that’s walking distance to everything
Best stay
Excellent hotel, warm staff, magnificient breakfast One single defect was height of toilet, felt like Gulliver in giants' land
very nice location
Very good hotel on the sea and all the rooms has very nice view walkable to the center, very nice park nearby, swimming pool, spa and very good food and service
Great staff and great location.
The staff was so friendly. The location was great.
not bad
everything was ok
Nice hotel some minor issues
The rooms were comfortable and spacious with nice outside spaces, however the air conditioning was poor and at night the rooms were very hot. The location was great, close to the sea and the town centre. Staff were very accommodating and breakfast was also good.
Perfect stopover , nice location . Friendly and reliable stagf
Nice place to stay specially with kids
The hotel belongs to the GRECOTEL group. There are 2 hotels y the same complex. The Grand Egnatia is the oldest one but very well looked after. The swimming poools is big and the area around it with the bar is very nice. We had nice frappe. The bedrooms are very big as well the bed and very comfortable. The sheets are clean The building has 2 floors we were in the top. There are no elevators. Only stairs. Inside the rooms there is a stereo that you can also bring your CD and play them. Havent tried. Just used the radio. The breakfast is served on the other hotel that is in the same complex. Lots of variarity of things to eat.
nice hotel for a summer holiday
A lovely summer-holiday hotel, with a big lap-pool for exercising and more swimming pools for playing and cooling off. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day. Friendly and good service throughout. Competent, helpful staff during breakfast as well. Done lots of walking, getting rid of extra calories:) Sight-seeing could include Samothrace, the Dadia Forest, Churches, museums, Olive oil farms etc Went on a four-day #winelovers tour, enjoying the local wines from the region A memorable experience overall
It was not perfect clean. In the bathtub there are some hairs remains former client. But service is ok. They offered me red wine.and bed was too soft. I do not think I will stay again.
In the heart of Alexandroupolis
This is an extraordinary hotel for Alexandroupolis, since most of the rest are small, family-owned (though not bad at all). Rooms are clean and spacey but need some improvement. Breakfast is OK but it's exactly the same thing every morning. It may be boring for long stays. The hotel is right in front of the sea and has (kind of) private beach. On the other side there is a huge park for jogging / running, etc. It has two big outdoor pools and even some private pools for some deluxe rooms (some of them share their pool with the adjacent room so if you really want a 'private' one, be sure to mention). It has a surprisingly 'loaded' fitness center, indoor pool and spa facilities. There is a 24-hour open market right across the street which sometimes save the day. Best restaurants in the city is at walking distance (the farthest is 750 meters). Internet connection is available on every corner but the connection is (was) slow. That may not be the case during your visit.
nice otel close to all attractions
nice hote close to all atractions but rooms needs to be renavated other than that it is a very nice otel
Perfect location, very close to center, excellent breakfast
The hotel staff were excellent and extremely helpful, very humble, very caring and attentive. They always responded with a smile and seem to enjoy their work. Very customer focused. The hotel was very pleasant, very clean and represented good value. the restaurant offered a wide choice of international "a la carte" menu, while the buffet dinner had some good Greek alternatives. the breakfast was varied and to a good standard. All in all, a highly recommended place.
Comfortable hotel near beach and city center
High quality hotel considering country standarts, two hotels at the same place one is newer (astir alexandroupolis) but this one (grand egnatia) is older but its ok. room was clean, breakfast is higher than Greek standarts, staff were all helpful. the hotel is placed between the beach and a small forest which you can go for a morning walk, its also very close to the city center (about 10 mins walking distance) where you can find lots of cafes and restaurants. Its really good that there are lots of parking places for cars at the hotel because Alexandroupolis is not a city where you can find a parking place easily near the city center. Sea is ok but not maldives.
Great service from friendly staff, nice resort too.
Book your stay in Astir, not Egnatia side
Best hotel to stay in Alexandroupolis. Good location, walking distance to sea side restaurants. Also close to city center. Clean rooms. But book your stay in Astir side, not Egnatia.
Nice hotel but...
I stayed in this hotel for two nights in mid-April. At night the temperature fell around 10 C but the room was extremely hot. I guess it must be due to the hot-water pipes inside the wall. Anyway the AC was cut off and I am told they only allow the use of the AC in the summer months. They told me to keep the balcony door open. I didnt wanna invite all the creatures from outside inside my room so I had to try to sleep in a room very uncomfortably hot (I guess mire than 25C). Otherwise the hotel is in a nice location with friendly and helpful staff. The scenery from the room and listening to the breaking waves at night is wonderful. . The city center is about 20 min walk by the seaside with lots of bars/cafes/restaurants.
Nice hotel close the heart of Alexandroupolis
Being there for a University congress. Hotel's staff was really helpfull, all of them: the receptionists, the breakfast/restaurant waiters-waitresses,the cleaning ladies. Recommended
Shocked
I booked this hotel as a one night stay at the end of a long multicity/multi-country vacation, not expecting much. I regret that we didn't have more time to spend at this beautiful location. Our room was upgraded to a suite which had a private outdoor pool connected to our porch with a great view of the beach. Unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of the awesome amenities that came with the room. If it was not for our late arrival and overall exhaustion from our travels, I am sure we would have had a blast at this hotel. Instead we ordered room service and lounged in the provided shower robes. Not a bad way to end a trip.
The lack of an elevator was a drawback
very good hotel
Clean, convenient location excellent staff in all areas could not do enough for us. Ligjting a bit low in room but can be forgiven. You don't need a bar fridge as everything is so close
Lovely Hotel close to shops and beach
The Hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable, the grounds were very pretty and well kept, and staff were very friendly .
Perfect
We've stayed at this hotel for the 2nd time and overall we are very happy with it...
Arrived before start of season
The hotel was ok but I was told that the beaches would not be ready for a few more weeks and most of the property wasn't open yet.
Disappointing for a 5*
Although the staff and the breakfast were very good, overall this was more like a 3* hotel than a 5* one. We went there for a few days of luxury and we didn't feel we found it. The so called spa was particularly disappointing, as was the dirty stoney beach covered in stinky seaweed. The property and the gardens could do with plenty of maintenance.
Greece to Turkey
We spent the one night on our way from Greece to Turkey. Our room was right off the beach. Room was clean, air-conditioning worked well and there was a complimentary bottle of wine and some sweets to welcome us. Staff was helpful, bed comfortable, breakfast very good. We took a long walk after breakfast along the ocean.
A nice hotel
The personnel is very kind. The hotel is clean. The breakfast is good. I'd stay again when I go back.
Nice Hotel Nice Staff
Best of Alexandroupoli, very good hospitality, prrfect breakfast
Close to city nice hotel
Very good breakfast. I did not like the bed quality. But I will visit this hotel again.
NICE STAY IN ALEXANDROPOLI
It was very short and nice stay for our familiy. very helpfull staf, good breakfast, close to the city center.
Business trip
Value for money but no double bed
Non-stop noise from the hotel's system is heard in the room. quite unpleasant.
Comfortable room, ood Location
Hotel needs a revamp. Beach water is turbid; beach needs clean up. Outside of these I would recommend it for families with children and for overnight stays during trips between Greece and Turkey. One can easily reach the Alexandrapouli water front on foot to sample the restaurants and simply to exercise.
Overall, it was a very good stay. Staff was attentive, room was clean and food was decent.
Nice hotel, however the beach was terrible.
The hotel was nice, wonderful sea view. The sea however was very dirty and one could not bathe in it at all. Staff was not very helpful with information regarding other beaches or activities in the area. Beds were rather uncomfortable. Breakfast was included, but very little variety. There were juices offered, but they were clearly just a mix of concentrate with some fizzy water. When i asked for fresh orange juice the lady brought some, however we were charged 4,50 Euro (!) to the room. There are many bars and restaurants nearby so the location of the hotel is very good.
nice clean rooms nice location, beach and pool not that much
Just the right place to reach the center & beach
We were upgraded to an executive room in the renovated hotel buildings, although we had booked for a superior one. The room was spacious with a private swimming pool (although not working in wintertime) and had all necessary facilities. The hotel location is excellent, as it;s just at the end of the town, so it'squite and by the beaxch, but also within a walking distance to all shops and restaurants of the center and the seaside. The only disdvantage was that the free WiFi signal does not reach these buildings, but just the central one.
Best hotel in the area..
This is the best hotel in the area. Executive rooms with private pools are recommended. The hotel had a private beach. Why did they stop umbrellas etc; mystery..
Great Stay
We were fortunate to have been upgraded so it proved to be a very good stay. Well worth the money.
Sertac
Convenient location, near to town.Walking distance, Open Buffet breakfast excellent quality,
higly recomended
we loved it.We have been before and intend to be back.
Definitely not 5 stars but we had a nice stay
This hotel is clean in a good location. However, the swimming pool was empty and the breakfast could have been better. Definitely not 5 stars, rather 4 stars. The view is nice though as you can enjoy looking at the sea. The staff was also nice a friendly.
Nice for summer time.
Very nice location, rooms with a wonderfull view. Breakfast was very delicious, we had only one night dinner at the silvester night, except the steak everything was OK. Housekeeping is poor.
Very nice place.
Grecotel Egnatia dort dortlun
Suite oda beklentilerimin cok uzerindeydi.
Otopark Ücteri
Otel otoprkı ücretsiz yazıyor fakat ayrılırken otopark ücreti alınıyor.
Odalar cok temiz konforlu kahvalti muhtesem otelin otoparki olmasi cok iyi sadece odada internet zor cekiyo
Poor wifi coverage in the room, rest is OK
Pleasant stay near the sea
A very nice hotel close to the airport and the room had a view over the sea. Nice secluded seating area outside the room. Very friendly staff and the breakfast had plenty to choose from. It is also close to the town’s restaurants, shops etc. Comfy bed and nice toiletries. On the minus side: It was hard to cool the temperature down in the room as I like it not being very warm but it was manageable for this short stay. It is not so isolated between rooms.

This was a lovely Christmas Holiday vacation hotel. It was very well decorated in the Christmas season fair. The room was fine, excellent view. Excellent breakfast. Thank you!!
