Unfortunately , the water in shower was very low power. ;( we couldn't take a good shower while we stayed there. The the flush for bathroom was extremely bad . Had to flushed 5/6 times ti ensure nothing left there :( The staff were friendly and location was walking distance to almost everything.
The staff and the facilites were all very nice. Highly recommended. Convenient location to all activities in London
The maintenance is poor.
Comfortable and good location
Comfortable, friendly hotel. Pleasant staff. Didn’t take breakfast which I felt was too expensive. Good location with lots of cafes and restaurants close by. Good local bus services to get around city. Elizabeth Line at Tottenham Court Road to Heathrow only 2 stops on bus.
Ideal location.
The staff were very friendly. We had a slight room mixup when we checked in but it was resolved quickly and professionally. The room was lovely, plenty of room for the 4 of us. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and all tasted good. This was a hotel in an ideal location, in easy walking distance from our theatre.
It's an ok hotel
TV didn't work, but overall comfortable for 1 night
The breakfast was very good, a bit expensive but good
Very conveniently situated in a nice area and a pleasant property.
There was no fan or AC in the room the heating was unbearable
Nice clean hotel
Wow worst stay especially breakfast
Loaction good but said it had a bar it was just fridge the brooze in it x confortable bed very dated looks staying at my nans nack is 70s breakfast was terrible really geasy harshbowns and sausage i was was well all day its was disgusting
Terrible broken “hotel”
Tatty old fashioned grotty hotel .. unhelpful staff who struggle with basic English. I actually gave up on getting a VAT receipt after several minutes of asking ! Tiny room broken TV, broken toilet seat, broken toilet roll holder, grotty kettle in an antiquated cabinet, faded carpet, sloping room ( my feet were higher than my head when lying on the bed) I stayed in room 207 and paid £530 for 4 nights ….cooked breakfast was £25 ! extra per day continental breakfast was £19 ! So obviously never ate there Photos of the garden looked good in reality it was pathetic broken chairs rubbish bins ladders & paint pots strewn around you just wouldn’t want to sit there
No aircon or fan in rooms
Tired place needs a good refresh
Big rooms!
Underwhelmed
Booked an executive specifically with king bed but on arrival offered a queen room which was scruffy
Great location, tidy room but hotel a bit tired
Location of the hotel is in a quiet street but right in the heart of London. Although the room was tidy and comfortable, it could have done with a good spruce up and a detailed clean around the edges. Shower was great. Continental breakfast was more than enough with plenty of good food options. Although polite, the staff could have been a little more engaging
Room was unbelievably tiny and very hot. It was also noisy from traffic as we had to have the windows wide open to try and cool it down
Reasonable but not 4* quality IMO
We had the same issue many others have had in that we booked Grange Clarendon but were moved to Grange Buckingham next door. Didn’t bother me but wife was very unhappy especially at being given a basement room. Good sized room. Excellent breakfast but had to go back to Grange Clarendon for it. I wouldn’t call this a 4-star hotel to be honest.
Great location for theatre goers.
A good location for the West end. Lovely hotel however could do with some upgrades. Lack of air conditioning and USB ports in the room.
Buyer beware
This hotel is a 3 star at best. The hotel carpet was old, the wallpaper was torn and the bedding sheets were stained. There is no air conditioning. The rooms smelled and the cleaning crew did not tidy my room as requested. They are overpriced and hotels.com needs to downgrade this property.
Comfy bed, clean room, great location was well within walking distance to underground stations.
Very rude woman in charge of breakfast area Unsafe if fire occurs…some windows in hallways painted stuck Uncomfortable beds
The WiFi was really bad I had to log out of it every minute. There were stains in the carpet. The towels smelled funny and they had no washcloths. Bathrooms were dirty and had a bad smell. The staff was nice but I would not stay again.
Front desk was very helpful and accommodating. They did not put us in the original room booked but found a room as we booked after the first night. We would stay again. Seeing both rooms some are in better condition than others but they all were clean and spacious for a room in London.
Very basic rooms, tired and in need of upgrades. Foysty smell and no WiFi in many of the rooms, I had to be moved and a colleague had no signal at all. Nice staff.Terrible smell of bacon cooking in the morning into my room 209. Loud noise coming from TB when turned on. Weak water flow for running a bath, basic shower and basic toiletries. Ok if you want basic but wouldn’t stay again.
Bit disappointing…
Not as smart as the photos lead you to believe. Rooms were fairly tired, mattress fairly collapsed, all the same I slept well and central location but not what I expected from the pictures…
More customer service needed
It was a lovely building and room, but the staff were unwelcoming to the point of rudeness. I felt like an inconvenience. It was very odd.
Run down
I presume this hotel must be under new management, because a lot has changed since I used to stay here regularly before the pandemic. The condition of the premises has truly deteriorated (peeling walls, filthy mouldings, torn curtains, etc). Stains on the bed linens. Just a general "icky" vibe (I slept with my clothes on). It's a shame, because this used to be a hidden gem. That said, for the price, you could do worse. Just make sure to ask for a room towards the back, as there are a bunch of drunk American students on Bedford Place late at night.
Great place, big room and very accessible
Did the advanced check and arrived at 2 pm and our room was ready so we got our room a bit earlier. It was spacious
I've stayed here before s good hotel etc but this time I was 'up graded' to a room with a blocked sink with bits of black mould in the water. I was moved to a nice room but the TV didn't work. So not happy
Room was very clean and had everything I needed, but the bed was old, the mattress sagged in the middle. My room and the 2nd floor were very hot with no way to regulate the indoor temp.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being able to store luggage before check-in and after check-out was great. The room was a good size, but carpets were badly stained, and the room was hot, with only a small fan that couldn't reach both beds. There was no light in the alcove of the second bed. The tub stopper was broken, but the staff did repair it.
London Visit
Great locarion ,good sized rooms for US and Canadian tourists. Very dated , faded and chipped carpets and furniture. But all in all good to great due to location.
Great location; small room
Great location, very quiet indeed but still central. Well priced when we visited. A little tired inside, but clean and tidy. We were given a very small room, with barely any space to navigate around the bed; if we had mobility issues it would have been a deal breaker.
Rooms and bathrooms were a good size, generally clean but the rugs were worn old and dirty. Wall paper was pealing off.
Seems like a lovely hotel in a nice quiet area. However a superior double room was a total let down. It was a standard room with no space whatsoever. When you lay so much money to expect a good standard. Not happy but it was resolved as we got a full refund and moved to another hotel
Unfortunately during our stay, I found the hotel overpriced an in need of an upgrade. There wasn’t much for the money we paid, the continental breakfast was awful, they wanted an extra £5 for English breakfast???? The staff were actually cleaning while we sat down for food so we could taste the cleaning products as we ate. There was building work going on at the hotel, scaffolding up on the room next to us with work men up an down from 7:30 / 0800, they also started a generator at 0700 which was right outside out window so obviously we were awoke by it and could not get back off to sleep. Overall not a great experience and we definitely wouldn’t stay there again.
Baked patrons
Facilities are as promised. Problem was that the staff neglected to prepare the room for use. Room had been tightly shuttered with sun streaming down to obtain full "greenhouse effect." With no air conditioning, the 90 degree temp was not even offset by the small table fan that the front desk provided following our complaint. Breakfast was good, but not good enough to offset the inhabitable heat. Staff should have inspected the room in advance and made stronger attempt to ameliorate the heat.
Meh all around
So I would say overall it was a bit cramped, the rug was separating from the wall and it felt like the whole room was sinking a little. The bathroom was nice, but for some reason the hot water came out without much pressure. Overall the staff was curt; no one was stellar, but they definitely were not rude. So “meh” experience all around. The only extremely positive thing I could say about my stay is the super close vicinity to the British Museum.
The hotel is in need of refurbishment. There is no drinks available and it’s generally rundown and tired.
Overnight stay for carabao cup final Paid extra £5 for cooked buffet breakfast as only continental in overnight stay price Well worth £5 Sausages back bacon bean’s mushrooms fried eggs hash browns tomatoes Room with en-suite clean bed comfy
Don't bother
On waiting to check in we were told the room was having maintenance carried out so we were told go to go to their other hotel down the road (same with the couple in front of us). Eventually checked in. Room wall lights ripped, should of gone in the bin! Blind in bedroom and bathroom removed from handing systems. Bright light all night from the outside coming from the bathroom. Hotel bar closed, they said we have no staff no man it...terrible. Paid for "breakfast included" = continental only or pay extra money! The continental was rubbish, barely anything there on a small table! Felt ripped off with the whole experience..... overpriced
Good place.
Disappointed 2* Hotel!!!
I have never felt the need to leave a negative review before but whoever is leaving good reviews must have been paid to do so as the hotel is definitely not 4* more of a 2* and does not look like the photos. We paid for breakfast with our booking and was then asked for £4pp extra at the hotel for an English Breakfast which was cold, overcooked and stale, the egg yolks were hard and gone green! The juice is watered down and to top it off the tea and coffee is pre made and left in thermos jugs which tasted disgusting. The restaurant staff were quite abrupt and more interested in singing to the radio. Needless to say we did not eat there the next day. The bedroom was under the kitchen area and noisey, the room was shabby, curtain hanging off the rail, wallpaper torn, carpet burnt, beds old and uncomfortable and can’t even explain the lumps that were pillows. Bathroom was clean though although the shower screen was very old fashioned and swung open. We left our luggage with the hotel as we were early and rather than putting in a safe locked area it was left in the reception where a member of the public could walk in and help themselves. The hotel as a whole was very dated and in serious need of a makeover throughout. We checked out and wasn’t asked about our stay or even greeted, the staff showed no interest in their jobs or to the clients. Our stay was disappointing and we would 100% NOT recommend staying here.
Amazing location, 15 minute walk from anywhere you want to go. Attentive staff and room was in a good condition. Bit dated but clean
The hotel staff were great and very helpful. My room needed a better bathtub and stopper that works. Also there was no extra quilt on the bed.
Very sub standard hotel. Given us lower ground floor room made us Claustrophobic. Will not visit again.
Poor tired hotel should be 2 star
This place is terrible. The 4 star rating is not accurate. Its probably more like a 2 star. Bed was awful, sheets must have been about 10 years old. It was really tired and needs loads of investment. Can’t believe how much they charge because it’s in London. There are loads of other places within walking distance that are much more comfortable and better value for money.
So and so. Too little soace in the room. Doesn't worth the money you are paying
Good amount of toiletry provided and plenty of hot water. The room was very dated and shabby. When I booked the room I requested had two double beds, however the room allocated only had a double and a sofa bed which would not sit flat, and was extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was not of a good standard.
The location is great, and tge breakfast is decent. All the rest requires serious improvement. The room is dated, the floor is made of wood and makes strong noise when one steps on it. There is no garderobe, you have to leave your stuff in bags. The room was made up every 3 daus, not every day as one eoul expect (yes, the garbage can will be full for 3 days, unless you will dispose it). The staff is welcoming, but on a simple rewiest to get us knife we were told it's not possible.
A surprisingly spacious bedroom for central London.
Despite being told that check in was Tom 2pm it turns out that on Friday and Saturday it is 3pm. This three out all our timings for the day of our arrival. Surprisingly the room had no bottled water and when requested it had to be paid for so rake your own in. Breakfast was good although the coffee was just served from a thermos flask. Despite the above the stay worked well for what we were doing that weekend
Tv not working and services provided not as web site. Checl in abysmal.
Lovely little hotel. Friendly staff. Sweet room. Reasonable size with a view, a window you could open, an old fashioned fireplace and a decent ensuite bathroom. Just 5 minutes walk to the British Museum, about 15 minutes from Charing Cross Road and Theatreland with tube stations at Holborn and Russell Square 5 minutes in either direction. Gardens at top and bottom of road. Really nice area, and felt very safe. Good value too.
Location, Location
Around the corner from the British museum. We booked it for its proximity to the Dominion Theatre. Exceptional value considering the location. Free continental breakfast and a fridge in the room a bonus.
Nice hotel, good location.
Disappointing
Staff sitting around chatting but not wearing masks, although there was no housekeeping due to Covid, had to ask twice for towels to be sent up. very little room between bed end and wall, wall dirty with marks made by people passing. Reception staff, some good, but generally poor language skills for giving directions in hotel, or at check out. Can't make toast, cold, floppy and toasted on one side only. Breakfast staff unfriendly, English very poor, asked for fresh toast and got slices of bread.
Within easy reach of Russell Square
Lovely old building but a little tired. Comfy clean bed, but furniture very dated. Rested a cup on the bedside table and it slid straight off! Several cracked tiles in the bathroom and the door didn’t close properly. Nice complimentary toiletries. Our original booking was a superior double room at Grange Clarendon with a queen bed. This was changed by the hotel the day before our arrival for some reason (possibly COVID related?) to the White Hall and I don’t think the room was of the same standard, certainly not a queen bed. As compensation we were offered a complimentary drink, which took a bit of wrangling to get, and the offerings were extremely limited. I was a bit disappointed with the warm white wine. That said the hotel served our purpose but probably wouldn’t stay again
Due to Covid restrictions, our room was not cleaned during our 3 night stay. Bins were emptied and we were given clean towels on request, but this was not made clear to us when we checked in.
London weekend stay
Well situated for the city....staff were excellent and attentive to anything we may have wanted..i would definitely stay here again 😁 My husband and I will return here.
Generally ok, small room. Expensive breakfast and no chargers for mobile. Clean and friendly otherwise. Good location.
Brilliantly situated for theatres and Covent Garden. Our second time staying here. Wouldn’t stop anywhere else now. Good value for money. Lovely big rooms with windows that you can open!!! My only criticism is that it’s looking a bit tired in places and could do with some redecoration in certain areas. Staff very attentive and helpful
Quiet, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Great location.
Friendly staff on reception. But where we were situated on the basement floor meant we were woken up by the noise of staff above.
Nice, helpful staff. Room was a good size. Location was terrific.
Arrival to check in, greeted by a non smiling lady (bad start already) who informed us that check in on Friday and Saturday is 3pm not 2 pm (I went back on line, it's in the small print). She offered to stow our luggage while we explore, or we could wait til the room was ready. So while the words were there, the basic friendliness of a reception was entirely missing. The room was ready fairly quickly and a very friendly concierge showed us to our room. He was the friendliest person we'd encounter during our stay. Getting to the room was a maze of narrow hallways and doors that were difficult to get through with large cases. The room, nice size but only tiny space at bottom of the bed to get by. The massive bed was really appreciated, however the pillows were an absolute let down. Comfy bed, bad pillows. The bathroom, on the surface of it appears nice. Good size, shower and bath a little small so no couple showering. The grout in the towels is in desperate need of deep cleaning or renewal. There was mould in the corners around the bath. And under the sink bowl were 3 mysterious brown splodges of unknown origin that remained for our entire 3 night stay despite daily housekeeping. The noise in the morning from housekeeping meant that any attempt at a sleep in was completely futile. The hotel has potential to be really nice with a few adjustments, but on this occasion I wasn't overly impressed.
I am completely satisfied with the hotel and will certainly visit again on my next trip to London.
The hotel is in a great location, but is very old fashioned. The bathrooms urgently need updating.
Great hotel
We had a great room looking out over the garden. Lovely and quiet for a London hotel. The room was exremely comfortable
The Location of the Hotel was good and the breakfast very tasty.
Clean facilities, friendly staff. They did not have a safe in the room, or Air conditioning - we were on the third floor and the room was hot at night even though it was cold outside. We also had the hot water run out while staying there - it was fixed within a few hours. Bed was not very comfortable either.
Old run down. Room too hot no air. Great female receptionist helped me print tickets for an event I was having a hard time printing. Shift change occurred and a male co-worker confronted her questioning why she was helping. He was unprofessional and very condescending to the female employee. She was great! Supportive and she extended customer service.
Great old building. I had a big room with sofa, desk and chair and three big windows. Location was great. Polite staff.
Clarendon was wonderful. The staff were bilingual, friendly, attentive, very helpful with tips on local attractions. The room was clean, spacious, neat, great tea. Located two blocks behind the Brit museum and ver close to train, parks, lovely area. Highly recommend it.
It was a nice hotel. Full English breakfast was awesome.
Damp smell!
The room was small and bathroom tiny...almost impossible to get to the toilet due to the shower. The shower doors were literally hanging off and kept banging. The tv has 2 large black lines going down the picture...which we realised was due to damage...they were cracks all the way down the screen. But worst of all, there seems to be a huge problem with dampness! The entrance hallway stank of damp, luckily the room didn’t or we wouldn’t have stayed. How this has averaged 7.8, I’ll never know and would question whether some of the reviews are genuine? The only plus was the location, which is a quiet street...We didn’t spend much time in the hotel and didn’t really want to. Just used as a base to explore London. I put it down to experience and will spend the extra for a nice hotel next time.
Definitely not ‘superior’ rooms
We were given a basement room initially. Small and dingy. There was mould on the ceiling and tiles in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling off the walls in places, mould around the window ledge, very little natural light as facing a wall, threadbare and worn carpets at the edges with staples protruding, extractor fan in bathroom constantly running, threadbare divan base and awful, squashy old mattress. Frustrated that ALL their double rooms are supposedly ‘superior’ rooms. Moved to a room on third level. Better light but also mould on ceiling and tiles in bathroom, thick dust on skirting boards and plug sockets, marks on wall and peeling wallpaper, sloping floor and you had to side-step to move between the bottom of the beds and wall. However bed was twins with a proper mattress across and much better than previous room.
Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Fabulous room - with great facilities. Very good power shower too!
Good location and hotel Ok but rooms a bit small but clean and well serviced. Breakfast at £23 a bit on the high side I think.
The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. It's close to a tube station, parks, shops, restaurants and a Big Bus Hop On Hop Off stop. Wish they had air conditioning. It was 90+ when we were there but they do provide a fan. Would definitely stay there again.
Worth the price
Amazing staff and clean, comfortable room!
Ahidden little Gem in Bloomsbury
Really good location for visiting central London. The hotel is set in a very quiet "place" and is surprisingly good. The staff are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. There is a cool garden area to the rear of the hotel which was excellent as the temperature in London was over 33C during the August Bank Holiday. We had the double superior room, which although not overly large, for two people that are not going to spend a lot of time in the room it is more than adequate. I have stayed at many more expensive hotels in The Capital, and I have to say that I would stay in the Clarendon in preference to many. Overall an excellent experience and really good value for money
Amazing value and superb room. Cannot fault this hotel.
very good location
expensive breakfasts - don't be caught out
good location, nice room expensive breakfast £17.50 for continental, £23.50 for English -which they don't publicise in advance on the website, in the room info or on reception. so we didn't bother with it at the hotel
Well presented property and great for the West End and Camden. The room was cosy and clean, with plenty of tea, coffee and toiletries. My only concern was there was no air conditioning and even with a fan, it was warm. It was great for what we wanted
Faulty Towers venue @ Radisson Blu Edwardian
location very good for most things , shops pubs cafes.
Location of the property was good for the plans we had. The room was hot and stuffy especially over night. When the window is open very noisy. Room to room noise was disturbing.
Pleasant but dated. No air conditioning but fan provided
Very spacious and well appointed room with nice treats like biscuits with the coffee and tea.
Great location, friendly staff and very quiet. Comfortable bed.
It’s was a hot week but the room does not have air conditioning,no fridge to put a cold drink in or to put milk for tea. When I booked it was said with breakfast but when I went for breakfast I had to pay £6.00 for cooked breakfast. There was a huge disappointment. That was like a slap on the face.
NIce location
Nice location and easy to get to; but lacks air conditioning for hot London weather
Two portable fans in room no air conditioning!! A very pleasant stay otherwise

Convenient, comfortable
My regular hotel, the Morgan, was booked, so I tried this one since it’s in the same area. It was just fine, and I’ll stay there again if the Morgan isn’t available.
