Quite disappointed. Room wasn’t ready until 3rd return to front desk at 7:30pm despite being quiet weekday night.
The room was nice and clean however there was no microwave. Lots of things for the kids to do but some were pricey. The only thing I didn’t appreciate was the extra resort fee of $50 per day that was tacked on at the end of our stay.
Really liked our room!! Clean and nice . No wash cloth In the bath room no fan. But all in all it was a great sleep.
I enjoy staying here for concert events but my last stay in a queen room the mattress was awful! It needs to be thrown in the dumpster.
MOE
MY STAY WAS GREAT, UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS TOO SHORT!😪 I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK TO STAY LONGER!😁
Everything was absolutely picture perfect
Resort fee is not justified by what is offered for it. And be honest and include it in your price upfront.
Going somewhere else next time
The heater wouldn’t heat the fan stayed on all night keeping us awake. The next day they came and fixed that. About six hours later, we realized that the toilet wouldn’t flush and it took a long time for it to go down. It took him till actually the day we left Sunday morning to fix that
It’s my favorite hotel.
This place is GROSS, it desperately needs an update. The staff is great, good service, lovely people. The casino just yucky lol like honestly disgusting. My room had cherry stems all over the place, floss in the corners, toenails on the beds, dust everywhere, the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and REEKED of mildew it was flipping disgusting. There was hair all over the place, that was not mine. Stains everywhere, on the towels/sheets/bed/wall by the toilet. You can hear the people talking in the rooms next to you. I was so grossed out and disgusted by the time I left. I wanted to run out of there.
Everything is amazing
Y
Overall we had a decent time staying at GST for an event and it was enjoyable. Our room had some confetti and candy that wasn’t fully cleaned but since we had an early checkin we figured they rushed and didn’t do a thorough job. All else was good including food, games and onsite entertainment.
I was not impressed with the room. It was not as resortie as I felt it should be. Definitely not as glamorous as a resort should be. Next time i won't be staying there
The rooms were nice and comfortable. Lots to do and plenty of choices to eat.
Always a fun time
Always a fun time
Nice staff
Great location. Enjoyed the tables and sportsbook. The rooms in the vista tower were great.
The rooms are very nice and very reasonably priced
Great place
Excellent place to stay in Reno - Has it All!
Very nice Casino Hotel in Reno. Staff was super-friendly / room 835 was wonderful (appreciated the upgrade). Fast bank of elevators, lots of dining choices, free valet parking A great place to stay in Reno - price was very fair!
Staff is so kind, this hotel is very clean and the room is beautiful. I am very picky about hotels and I would stay here every time!!!
Property was clean and well maintained
We made sure to call & inform the front desk that we needed a crib in our room upon arrival as our 12 month old would need to sleep right away after check in. When we got here, the front desk asked if we still needed a crib and said they would have one delivered right away. Nearly 70 min after check in, a crib was delivered. We ended up going back down to our vehicle to grab our pack-n-play which was packed away in a duffel bag & not readily/easy to get to (we had it because we were flying out the next morning at 5am). Very annoyed at GSR and the poor customer service. Probably wouldn’t recommend to anyone with kids.
The casino staff was a little overbearing and following close by which made it kind of a off putting experience. A server was very demanding on the floor and got upset because we had went and retrieved our own drinks and demanded a tip after not even serving us. Other than that. Amazing place and the restaurant staff were very polite.
Great
Great
Great stay, plenty to do and eat
Not staying here anymore
GSR has changed. The service is horrible at the front desk. The room Wass till dirt w/ hair on the sheets.
Clean and comfortable
Terrible customer service, bad management
Went to Reno for an event and stayed on property at the GSR. Great property, nice staff. The self-check-in process was preferred by the hotel, but was a bit clunky and still required one of their staff to help finalize and remit the room key(s). Sadly the Charlie Palmer Steakhouse left a lot to be desired - both nights.
Everything exceeded my expectations. Beautiful hotel/resort
The property feels kind of isolated from the rest of the area, but there are good dining options on site. Parking areas are safe and patrolled. Amenities are very clean/ well kept/ updated and staffed with excellent employees.
It was such a convenient place to stay. It was close to the hospital where my husband was. It had many restaurant choices, a Starbucks, plentiful parking, it was clean, newly decorated, and very good service from the employees I had contact with. There was even a Walmart about two blocks away for something I forgot to pack. My only comment for improvement is the mattress was very soft.
Love this place
Highly recommended!
Flights were canceled and I couldn’t get my money back. Grand Sierra said Expedia needed to refund me and Expedia claims Grand Sierra needs to refund me. I will not be staying at Grand Sierra or using Expedia again.
Great for short business stays. Awesome dining options. Una Mas is my favorite
No Heat
the room was great but, no hot water they came to fix still did not work. The heater would not heat the room past 65 deg was a cold night. Really a bummer as this is our staycation place.
This property was clean and easy to navigate. .
The food was not good. Had to send meals back multiple times.
Very clean would definitely come back
Good
Great food
We had a great time at the GSR and particularly enjoyed the activities.
Convenient
If you want housekeeping ask
I had to request housekeeping twice one day and the next day didn’t get it either. We did have towels brought to us and some other things we asked for.
We have been coming here for year Sadly it’s completely gone down hill
Front desk check in progress very disorganize
Big and lots of things to do
Updated room
Everything was clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Many dining options.
Hotel was clean , very nice dining options and fun place to stay. Spa was amazing !
Nicely renovated.
Reno itself is not as pretty to look at as I thought it would be. I picked this hotel because from the pictures, it looked we could just enjoy being at the hotel and all the amenities they have to offer, but it’s so smoky and loud with so many people in the main area, I didn’t even want to be down there. And maybe because it was the weekend, but there were always crowds of people waiting to cram onto the elevator. It made it a chore to go back and forth from the lobby to our room, so we just stayed in our room most of the time. The outside pool area is nice with a big fire pit and fresher air And there is an entire floor geared towards kids and teens. But I don’t I would want to bring my kids because the smoke on the main floor is so overwhelming and even though the rooms themselves are non smoking, the smell drifts all the way up through the hallways. We thought there might be snow on the mountains when we went, and we would just enjoy the room and the view. However, the view was not that great and our first night, the room connecting to ours had loud music playing and loud talking (aka, a party) well past 1:00 am. They did move us to a new room the next day which was much quieter and looked to be little cleaner than the previous room, but the view was worse and the bathroom was missing a couple items like soap and washcloths. I should have known I guess, but this is not the place to come for relaxation. Only come here if want to be immersed in the gambling and party scene.
Don’t try to cancel
We were going to Reno to stay here for the night that a band was playing at the casino. Well the band cancelled last minute and then we tried to cancel. I contacted hotels.com to cancel, who in turn had to go through the hotel, and then were never able to get ahold of the hotel or honor our request. It was barely past the 72 cancellation window. At this point I didn’t care if I got charged or not and just messaged to cancel the stay and we will not be coming. And then in turn was told to contact hotels.com directly again, which I already did, and half the time was dealing with a virtual assistant. The entire process was a mess and frustrating and I’m still out $150. Not a good experience.
This a a must stay when in Reno especially if you have kids. They have tons of options for entertainment. The hotel staff always auper helpful..only complaint is the room coffe maker firdge and iron were all sub par preventing a 5 star rating for me the details is the only thing missing
Mars front desk personal great customer service. That is his real name.
Clint Black
Saw Clint Black. He was amazing
Gorgeous rooms
Service wasn't the most spectacular. Not only did I witness it myself, but observed it with another guest, that finding service was ridiculously unhelpful.
.
Awesome
Excellent stay
The front desk staff was very welcoming. My room was clean and ample sized.
Great!
Great place
Awesome stay!
Lovely resort casino hotel. Plenty of places to eat, comfortable rooms, and lots of options for things to do. Casino was huge and slots were above average in generosity. Promos for frequent players card were great. We earned a bottle of champagne on boozeday Tuesday with minimal effort. We will return!
beautiful facility.
It was great!
Great hotel
Amazing went to snowboard for the day and wanted an affordable yet nice place so I took a chance and booked this place for the first time and glad I did I’ll be back
Would stay again, nice property
Excellent resort! Very clean, nice room looks classy and clean. Reasonable price dinning options. Lex night club is large! Not too crowded very fun night out!
Large sized rooms
Room had no air conditioning and the staff was not accomodating. I had to leave the property and drive home during unsafe weather coniditions since we could not sleep in the room as it was too hot.
All food options and kids play area
The comedy show was great and well organized! Great view from the room. The casino was very loud and crowded
I liked the sports book experience and the restaurant selection, the shower in the room was amazing, spacious and strong water pressure.
Big Con was having the smoking in the casino by the check in. Did not enjoy this for myself or for having my 2 year old son with.
It was nice but expensive
There alcohol food that was left from other people no towels went ask for sum Looks like never clean it
Very nice rooms
Our room was very clean and the hotel safe were very friendly and helpful.
Room felt semi clean. Put leftover food in fridge and it all froze and the unit couldn't be turned down. Remote for TV didn't work and iton didn't work.
Love it here
Thanks
Luxury
I was very impressed with all the activities that were available for kids and adults.
It’s great
Stayed for the Pole Vault Summit
Facility was beautiful with lots to do. But everything is rather expensive. Water, food, activities. Rooms were big with great views. Beds a little on the firm side. Mini fridge, but no microwave.
Restaurant are great rooms are dirty
Expensive food & beverages. Personally, it was very well managed, Security was very visible, and professional. Valet services were excellent. Parking and luggage, very well run operation.
Unfortunately, my first impression was the smell of cigarette smoke.
GSR is a great place… We came for a show this visit but have visited with kids and everything you need is on sight, Always a stellar staff from front desk to cafes to bartenders!
Very busy hotel!
Business stay. GSR is Fabulous. Staff on 18th floor super helpful and friendly.
Stay here!
Amazing stay. Beautiful bars, amazing restaurants, and rooms are spacious and comfortable
The check in process needs work. We used the app and couldn’t even get the keys printed. So we will still had to get in line to receive our keys. There were only 3 people working the front desk and there was about 30 people in line waiting to check in. Next issue is the parking out front. Literally there is no parking. The valet/Bell hot process is to be desired. I was told that it was only going to take 25 minutes for a bellhop to come up and grab our bags to take them downstairs. We literally waited for 45 minutes and still no bellhop I called downstairs and they apologize and said it was going to be another 20 to 25 minutes before they can get someone up there so we just took all our luggage downstairs and waited for another 20 minutes to receive our car from valet. Lastly, the showers in every room are horrible. There is literally no water pressure coming out of those showers whatsoever.
I would never stay in this hotel
Amazing
Grand Sierra Resort and Casino | Home in Reno | Travala.com
I've stayed her many times, and GSR is consistently one of the best properties in Reno, however this last time was a little lack luster. Since the last time I've been there they have implemented a text service if you need anything. I requested a new set of towels, soap and shampoo, since I ran out. The text message said it would arrive in about 45 mins. The confirmed my order at 3:30pm. It hit 8:30pm, 5 hours later and housekeeping came with a shower cap for me. I said that I needed shampoo and soap. She left and came back to give me what I needed. I did use the text service twice, and the last time I was missing items, but I didn't say anything and let it be. There must be some sort of disconnect between the text service and house keeping. I had to wait 5 hours to take a shower with soap? In hind sight, I should have just went across the street to Walmart and purchased my own shampoo and soap, it would have been quicker. Aside from that, I did enjoy the food at GSR. Johnny Rockets is always good, and the ham, egg, and cheese croissant at the 24 hr Second St Market Place was amazing! We also spent some time at the ice skating ring which was super family friendly.
