The room and the whole hotel smelled of mold. Breakfast was ok. Dinner i ordered in the restaurant was terrible. I ordered the local fish, but it was like chewing bubblegum. My key-card kept malfunctioning. In the end the maintenance had to replace batteries in de door-lock, so i had to wait almost 30 minutes in from of my room before it was fixed. The area of the hotel has very little options. No restaurants real close and the area around the hotel did not give me a safe feeling. My wife ordered a cocktail, but could not taste any alcohol in it. Tasted like a sour juice.

The whole hotel had an unpleasant smell. Like it had not been cleaned well. Also in the lobby it looked like there was no working airconditioning. No comementary water in the room. Only in the minibar. I expected a lot better of this hotel.

The hotel is great , check- in staff and everybody else are wonderful going above and beyond to reach guests’s highest expectations. The place is in the best location on a privileged sector of Belem with lots of beautiful cafes , restaurants and cute stores , in fact , it is few blocks from the Basilica and approximately 20 minutes away from the Docas and “Ver o Peso” market, which I love to visit every tim in Belem . The only 2 improvements / suggestions I have are regarding to the fact the hotel does not offer guests real toilet paper rolls , instead , guests have to use napkin type paper that is kept in a sort of napkin holder installed in the bathroom wall and I found that extremely annoying, Also, the restaurant staff should be trained and instructed to leave guests in peace until they finish their breakfast because at 10:00 on the dot they take everything away , including coffee , juices , food from the breakfast area wiping out any chance guests would have to go for second helpings . I completely understand that the restaurant closes at 10:00, but the rule should apply to people who arrive at 10:00 not for the ones who are already inside enjoying breakfast . That happened to me and family in our last staying , we were eating breakfast when everything was rapidly and suddenly removed making us , especially myself, rushed to eat the food and it was a very unpleasant experience. On the other hand i only have great things to say about the hotel.

Nice room and good location

Hotel had almost all amenities of a good hotel, but there were not very good. For example: gym equipment were old and basically not much equipment for a decent workout. Air conditioner was off most of the time and when on did not really cool down exercise room. Also, room service was poor. Items used up not replenish (like soap, water, etc). Not a good selection of food at hotel and food service was average at best including menu. Hotel personnel, although polite, was not very knowledgeable to inform guests about restaurants, touristic activities in the area. Another thing is they charge for everything (even the water you drink at room). Lastly, everything took a long time. Even making line to check out of the hotel took a long time. Overall, average hotel. Hotel has potential to do better with better management.

Good hotel but no great as I was expecting

Hotel is good, great location close to anything you need in a walkable distance. Good restaurant with a wide variety of food and delicious breakfast, but the bar area is a dark ambient, there’s light but isn’t turned on. Free parking but is not accessible by the elevator, you have to go out the reception and walk to basement. Good hotel but no great as I was expecting. My room was spacious but the front door ceiling, was falling with some kind of plate hiding the hole. Seems the room needs renovation so they offered it with a discount, but this is bullet to the head if is the case as depreciate the hotel’s name. Overall was I good experience.

I stayed 2 times in one week. Compared to the Radisson this was superior. I had excellent service from start to finish both times, very clean and my room was freshened everyday. The staff at the front spoke English and everyone was attentive. The Breakfast was fresh and we'll maintained. The best part was the shower water pressure was excellent and clean suite with fresh smell. Thank You Grand Mercure do Belém.

Muito bom, com alguns detalhes que podem melhorar

Camas muito confortáveis, ar condicionado excelente e limpo, banheiro ótimo (principalmente limpo). Porém, as Instalações não são tão novas (quartos) e o atendimento do restaurante, principalmente pelos garçons, deixa a desejar (apenas um garçom estava atendendo todos os clientes do restaurante). Falha na cobrança no check out, porém solucionada.

The staff requires significant training on customer service. Not friendly or polite. The minimum expectation would be to make travelers feel welcomed and thank them for choosing the hotel. Housekeeping was cleaning rooms after 20:30 at night. Room was not made. Overcharged for drinks in room that were never consumed. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you want to be treated like a dog.

Bad humid odor

I stayed in a junior suite room 12.11 the hallway of level 12 has a terrible humid smell. There was a small portable dehumidifier operating in the hallway which is a confirmations that the hotel is well aware of this issue, and still assigns rooms to guests. Entering the room 12.11, the same humid odor smell is in the entire suite. The air conditioner is leaking water. The drain of the bath tub is broken also known to the hotel because is is put aside in the bath tub. The small towels in the bat tub were not replaced for a new guest as these were fully soaked with water from previous guest. All with all a bad experience, would not recommend to other guests.

Service Sells

We were totally impressed by the courtesy, helpfulness, great level of customer service by the staff. Both my wife and I only spoke Spanish and English and yet there seemed to be no language barrier. Yes some staff spoke English. From the Security, Doormen, Waiters, Maids, Maintenance (we had a little problem with our room safe) and the Front Desk Staff, service was impeccable. Special thanks to Yasmin who NEVER missed a beat when we presented ourselves to the front desk. When we went out at nights and were ready to return we were told to call the Hotel and they would send a taxi to bring us back. Breakfast was an excellent variety and tasty even though simple. We are surely going back there on our next trip to Belem later this year.

Old hotel that needs to be completely overhauled

I chose this hotel because of the brand name Crowne Plaza. It is an old hotel. The only nice thing is the lobby. The hallways are dark and narrow. The rooms are old and the paint is chipping off the walls. The room had tile on the floor instead of a rug. The high price and the hotel name do not match the hotel experience. And the rating of 3.9 on expedia is COMPLETELY misleading. Unfortunately I think this is one of the better hotels in Belem.

Comfortable city hotel

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belem is a new hotel, and therefore very comfortable with well-functioning Air Conditioners in the rooms. The front-desk staff (specially Camilla) spoke English and were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet is superlative, with many cooked items, deli meats, breads, etc. and an omelet station where you can have an omelet 'made to order' by choosing the ingredients you want. Many fresh fruits and at least 3 fruit juices were offered daily. They were very efficient to launder a couple of items for us, and return them to us in a few hours. We had one dinner at the hotel. It was difficult to order in English. We didn't get the appetizer we ordered, and the waiter wasn't familiar with the usual cocktails, but clearly the cook is excellent because the filet mignon was done medium rare and very good!

Minha experiência neste hotel foi simplesmente incrível e superou todas as expectativas. Desde o momento do check-in até o momento da minha partida, fui recebido com extrema cordialidade e profissionalismo por toda a equipe. A recepção foi muito eficiente, o processo de entrada foi ágil e os atendentes sempre muito bem treinados, simpáticos e dispostos a ajudar em todas as necessidades. O quarto em que fiquei hospedado era espaçoso, extremamente limpo, confortável e muito bem decorado, com uma atenção especial aos detalhes que fizeram toda a diferença. A cama era extremamente confortável, o enxoval de alta qualidade e o ambiente transmitia uma sensação de aconchego e tranquilidade perfeita para uma estadia relaxante. Le client est encore le perdant !

Nous avions réservé une chambre supérieure avec très grand lit, nous avons dû changer de chambre car le climatiseur était défectueux. Nous avons eu finalement une chambre classique avec lit double standard. Quel dommage !

Apesar da péssima internet, foi uma boa estadia.

Pontos negativos: péssima internet wifi, vivia caindo, mesmo nas áreas comuns como academia e área da piscina. No meu quarto (210) simplesmente não funcionava. Chegou um momento que desisti totalmente de utilizar a internet do hotel e usar apenas a internet do meu celular. Dentre os amenities do quarto, não havia hidratante. O drink de cortesia deveria ser oferecido a todos os hóspedes e não para apenas certas categorias. Pontos positivos: quarto amplo e cama confortável. Amenities disponíveis (xampu, condicionador e sabonete líquido). Café da manhã variado. Boa academia e boa localização no bairro de Nazaré. Piscina pequena e rasa, mas consegui aproveitar bem minha hospedagem.

Chave não funcionou na chegada. Porta do quarto não funcionava a tranca, ficou fechado apenas na correntinha. Ar condicionado nao gelava bastante (depois de 1 noite ligado no 18 graus, a temperatura do quarto chegou aos 23 graus).

Boa hospedagem

Hotel bom para se hospedar, boa localização e funcionários bem preparados para atender vc. Porém os banhos precisam de uma reforma para modernizar.

Boa localização, equipe atenciosa, quarto confortável e espaçoso . Único aspecto negativo é que as paredes parecem ser de papel. Consegui escutar quase tudo do pessoal ao lado e principalmente no banheiro. Meio chato.

Estive hospedada há um ano atrás e o café da manhã melhorou consideravelmente, esta muito mais variado, o banheiro, esse ano, está com produtos da L’ocutane, como em outros Grand Mercure , a observação que tenho a fazer é sobre a manutenção, a maçaneta da minha porta estava precisando ser consertada, ficava pendurada, precisei abrir a porta pra minha irmã várias vezes, o banheiro precisa de rejuntamento no box, tinha cheiro de mofo no corredor, e nas paredes do corredor, inclusive. Teve um dia que esqueceram de arrumar meu quarto, precisei pedir ao chegar da rua…

Razoável

Foi razoável, é um ótimo hotel, porém desta vez , o apto possuia um colchão muito desconfortável, com ondulações de uso e com poeira.

Terrível! Dois dias sem água quente. Avisei a administração e nada. Café da manhã só falta o básico, café na térmica.

Très décevant

Hotel froid et vieillissant, chambre trop chères au vu des prestations, personnel à la réception pointilleux et peu serviable. Valets du parking très amicaux et personnel du petit déjeuner aussi. En résumé je n'y retournerai pas, à ce tarif il y d'autres hôtels beaucoup mieux.

Por se tratar de rede Accor e ser Mercure, hotel esta sem cuidados atendimento horrível e limpeza deixou muito a desejar.

O ar estava pingando, acordei com um “lago”no quarto, pedi para verificarem e quando voltei o ar estava ok, mas o quarto estava uma sujeira só, além de muita poeira e fuligem no chao, o piso estava todo cheio de marcas pretas de sujeira das botas de quem veio arrumar o ar. As janelas precisam ser limpas, o vidro estava opaco de sujeira.

Os itens do frigobar sao cobrados taxas de serviço, alem do valor. Os entregadores de comida nao podem acessar a recepçao do hotel, dessa forma vc precisa ir para a rua e calcada do hotel para retirar seu pedido. Tive dificuldades em ser atendida no nar do hotel

The stuff was not very helpful, we had problems with the air condition! It took them 1 hour to decide what they can do! Never apologize for the problems! The pool was very small and not clean! Breakfast was good! All together it was not good for the price!

Grans Mercure Belem one day familystay

Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are decent size. All in all a nice hotel, especially compared with other hotels in Belem. One thing to mind is that the reception staff wasn´t very efficient and seemed to lack interest. The restaurant is too expensive for what it actually serves. Look elsewhere.
