Lovely place to stay in Reims, but you need to walk a bit to get anywhere. The closest restaurant is 10 minutes walk away, and there is nothing at the hotel besides breakfast that must be ordered the night before.
The Hotel is well located. You can visit landmarks and historic sites in Reims as well as restaurants and wineries. Close to Epernay. Confortable, classic and affordable
Thakyou. Very comfortable
It was lovely
Absolutely stunning, old world charm hotel with very nice and helpful staff. The rooms were beautiful and a great size.
Charming Traditional Hotel
The location was fabulous! The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms had everything we needed. AC worked incredibly well, excellent WiFi and more amenities. Loved the bathroom in our deluxe room! Would love to come back for a longer stay.
I thought to pay 20 euros for parking was ridiculous. Especially as this is Hôtel parking around the back. Easy access to Reims and friendly staff. Only just 4 stars
A fantastic lovely hotel .
Large room. Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Shower set up was a little inconvenient.
It was like a tried nursing home without any upto date facilities and not enough staff. Terrible value for money. Hidden extras like 20 euros to use the pool for one hour. A very dull and uninspiring breafast at extortionate cost for what it was. Receptionust doubling up as waitress seriving breakfast. It was dull and tired without enough information on pricing. Nothing to like apart from a comfy bed.
From a charming historical period
The service staff were very nice and helpful with everything. I was a little dismayed to find out no one is there after 11pm. My room was comfortable, bed, etc, bathroom, windows and parking on site. it is well situated for walking, you can walk for miles and find anything you need. I would stay here again.
Quaint French hotel stay
Lovely stay in a typically French style hotel. Really liked the decor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Parking is tight if you drive a 4x4 so be prepared to find alternative parking spots on the street as the approach to the parking is a tight squeeze and do damage to your alloys. I expected more for the cost of breakfast. It’s 19 euros pp for a selection of mini pastries, baguette, one boiled egg, orange juice, fruit, yoghurt, tea/coffee. Not great options for diabetics or those with gestational diabetes. Some sausages, scrambled eggs or bacon would have been nice. Overall the food was fresh.
Charming hotel with very kind and helpful service! Paying for the use of the pool was unusual…it was nice to have a traditional decor of French hospitality! The design of the dining room will probably follow…
The safe did not work in our deluxe room. The plumbing needed some adjusting. Next time, we will stay at a hotel with a more central location.
A gem. Clean, quiet, great location with great character.
All the staff are very friendly and happy to do everything to help to make your stay comfortable. Property is a bit isolated, but cabs come easily. Room was comfortable, old style. Amenities are limited.
Great location. Nice place
Lovely hotel, lots of atmosphere
We considered ourselves very lucky to find such a beautiful, historic place to spend Christmas - their decorations made the surroundings even more memorable. Very helpful, charming staff and very good breakfast.
An overall excellent experience highlighted by every staff member we encountered. Courteous, friendly and helpful in every interaction. The house this hotel is in is beautiful inside, especially the reception area, staircase and office. If forced to complain about something our shower stall was tight and didn’t drain well. Well-situated for everything in town if you don’t mind a bit of walking. I would stay here again. Very quiet area at night.
hotel with charm, the staff was very nice and attentive. the price point is high for what you get. we understand that it is a old property with history, but there are somethings like shower, carpet, that could be renowned for a more clean and comfortable experience.
This was beautiful French Hotel! Walking distance to Notre Dame Reims and lots of great shops. Great staff.
The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very nice. The location was great. The hotel staff were super helpful.
Once Grand...not even that
If one is after nice gounds or nice lounges or great service or a free swim in the pool this place is not for you. Parking in the open air courtyard is 10 Euro. Swimming in the pool is 20 Euro per hour per room! Very very disappointing. Oh and if you fancy walking into town be ready for a 30 minute trek. Going into town is a must as there is no dinner available
Excellent facilities and first rate staff. On-street parking not ideal, but space was found close to hotel. Certainly would re-visit
Great hotel
Fantastic hotel and great service I would recommend to anyone. It had safe secure parking, clean rooms, good breakfast. Also the hotel receptionist was super friendly and helpful.
Excellent stay, great room, and friendly staff.
Excellent two night stay for our visit to Reims. Very friendly hosts, the room was excellent, large room and bathroom. Enjoyed the terrace, where you could sit and have a drink on an evening. Parking on site, was very secure, although there is free on-street parking (but can be tough to find a space near the hotel). Location was fairly central, maybe a 5 minute walk to a couple of the main squares with restaurants and bars. All in all, an excellent stay.
Fabulous
I love this hotel! Great everything- people who manage the hotel are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is wonderful-great value and great tasting. The hotel is very beautiful- older hotel with lots of charm. Location is great-can walk to all the main attractions. Will be back! Loved it!
Great Hotel
What a find. This is a great hotel. Spotlessly clean rooms. The pool and sauna spotlessly clean also. Breakfasts excellent. The hotel staff were so friendly and couldn’t do more to help. They booked Restaurants for us and organised taxis. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Reims.
The hotel interior is lovely French antiques. The managing couple are a wonderful team who will assist you with anything you ask of. They made us dinner reservations, recommended local shops for specific request, and called a taxi when needed. The breakfast is a lovely bounty of homemade yogurt, jams, fresh croissants, and sweets accompanied with fresh fruits, and a meat/cheese plate. All with fresh pressed coffee and a orange juice. We had breakfast in the dining room, spaced apart from other guest, and another morning on the terrace, absolutely beautiful morning for such event. The room is spacious, but only offered a bath tub with a hand sprayer. There was no stand up shower in. our room, but other rooms may have the stand up shower. Wasn't a deal breaker, just an inconvenience. The cable TV is all french, no international channels. The location is a 10 minute walk to most things, 15 to city center. What the hotel may lack in terms of offerings, the hospitality more than makes up for, a pure delight to stay with this family.
Take a break in Reims - don’t drive past it!
This is a lovely base from which to explore Reims. A central location, private parking on-site, very comfortable accommodation in a stylish and characterful house, and excellent value for money
Not My Favorite Spot
The facility is very dated, this could be seen as “fun and antique” but it was really more just dated. The bed was fairy uncomfortable, the room was a little dirty, all in all I wasn’t impressed. Check in was smooth, they look you up in a book and hand you a key. The first real problem was the WiFi, traveling from the US we needed it to work so we could figure out our plans. We requested a different room and were told they would reset the WiFi, and that did nothing to solve the problem. It wasn’t like we were in a distant room either, their router just sucked. The breakfast, skip it, if you buy there it’s 17 euros, and it’s like an egg, some toast, jam and a yogurt. Very overpriced for what you get. The location, it’s a km to anything useful, the train station is 1.2km the main area with food and bars is almost 2km. Not a terrible walk but if you’re drunk on champagne (as most tourists are) it’s too far. Or if you have luggage and have to drag it from the train, it’s too far. These may seem like minor things but in a city with no taxis, it was not a nice place to stay.
Quaint and friendly hotel
A lovely quaint hotel on a quiet street in Reims. Only a 10 minute walk to town. We couldn’t have asked for more. Very friendly staff, comfortable good sized room and the swimming pool was great. The free parking was a bonus. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay again if visiting Reims or even just passing through.
Very confortable stay. Bed was medium but very comfortable. Car parking if available was in an internal secure courtyard. Missed out on the pool, but will have to return to check out.
The bathrooms excellent The pool a bit noisy so not relaxing
Reims stay
Great traditional place 7 minutes from cathedral and center Awesome breakfast
The bar was very unique The room tv and two remotes were awkward
Wonderful stay! Huge room, clean and comfortable. Gorgeous hotel with just enough modernity to be comfortable. I.e. elevator and ac/heater in room.
The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to the city center. And it’s so quiet you’d never guess how central it is! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and very comfortable!
Nice enough room in a beautiful building. The parking was a bonus but a bit of a squeeze for a full size SUV!
Very warm atmosphere, French classic design large room. Clean and quiet.
Wonderful place to stay.
My only complaint is the spotty internet service. The hotel was quaint clean and g the staff was outstanding.
Rooms and breakfast were fantastic. Probably the best water pressure for the shower I’ve ever experienced in Europe.
A touch of grandeur
We stayed two nights and everything was great. Our room was quite large, quiet, and clean. It was decorated and laid our in a grand old style from of a different era. Neat if you can appreciate stepping back in time and grandeur. The bathroom was good size and in the same old period style but with very modern upgraded fixtures.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made my stay feel more like a Bed and Breakfast than a normal hotel stay. I felt welcomed and that they cared that I had a good experience. I used the pool and found it clean, with a good supply of towels. It was a little cooler than I would have preferred. Breakfast was an amazing French experience, served on china that's unique to the hotel. The vintage decor was in good condition, and the updated bathroom was FABULOUS. If I get the chance to return to Reims, I will definitely stay here again.
Very nice accommodations and cheerful service.Staff parked our car in rather small locations - very helpful.
This is a very charming hotel. All the rooms are decorated individually with an old fashioned elegance. All the little touches are perfect - windows that overlook the courtyard, black out shades, high quality bedding, and a nice mini bar selection.
Beautifully appointed rooms. Double-sink bathroom. Parking. Extremely helpful staff. Good coffee.
Our stay at this beautiful hotel was unexpectedly prolonged by an injury and hospital visit. The staff and management of the Grand Hotel des Templiers could not have been more cheerful, hospitable and accommodating. We have traveled all over the world and feel confidently the staff at Templiers are among the friendliest we ever met. Lovely facilities too. And a great location. We will return. What a gem of a hotel!
Well located just a few blocks from attractions and restaurants yet out of the hustle bustle and noise. The room was large for a European hotel and came with AC. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we were impressed. Of our 2 week holiday, staying in 5 hotels this was by far our overall favorite. Highly recommend.
Quaint, quiet, comfortable hotel.
Lovely, helpful staff. Quaint, quiet area. Well appointed, comfortable room. Nice walk to the Champagne houses.
Very pleasant staff. Good facilities. Difficult entrance for parking. Would be better for wider cars with no internal kerbs but staff very good and helpful at directing
Hidden gem back in time
First class traditional old french hotel with the service you would have expected, not too far from anywhere on foot, we will certainly go back.
Beautiful hotel
Really enjoyed this beautiful French hotel. It had great character. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bathroom was gorgeous. The only downside was that we thought the breakfast was expensive. However we highly recommend the hotel
Great hotel
Fantastic hotel great service ,lovely breakfast thank you
Friendly and professional service from a great staff who couldn't be more helpful. Was clean and the express breakfast was great when we needed to get away early.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff - rooms spacious and very grand bathrom
Have stayed here before and have previously stayed in the original part of the hotel . This time in the extension which is good but not quite as good .
Very convenient. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay.
I would have stayed elsewhere...
The hotel is a little dated, a little out of the way (fifteen minute walk from restaurants and shops), but the worse is the narrow street entrance (we scratched our car going in) and the terrible WiFi connection (difficult to connect with, connection only lasted five minutes, had to connect again over and over). Staff is nice and the room was spacious. Breakfast ok.
Beautiful old hotel that has been well maintained and provides luxury with cleanliness and a very responsive staff.
Good for walking. Enjoyed stay. Staff were helpful.
Good place to stay.
Good beds and a big bathroom. The staff were great and very helpful.
Wonderful hotel with extremely accommodating staff. I loved my room, both romantic and comfortable.
Great to celebrate our 12th Wedding Anniversary
Excellent - well run. Beautiful classic French hotel with first class staff. Highly recommend
Gem in champagne capital.
Reims is a very interesting and walkable city. This charming hotel is in the middle of it all.
Good location and easy to find.
We only stayed one night and, although we arrived late, the staff were brilliant and helpful. The breakfast was also excellent.
Ideal location
excellent location in city centre, walking distance from cathederal and some very good restaurants and great base for exploring the champagne region
Pleasant overnight stay
Had a really pleasant overnight stay here. Shame we didn't get chance to use the pool. Staff all friendly and spoke excellent English. Place needs further updating but a charming and characterful hotel
Very nice hotel. brilliant staff - really helpful.
Excellent beautiful hotel. The staff was super accommodating and FRIENDLY . Loved our room (11). Ayntu recommended a local restaurant that served the BEST food during our 3 week trip in Europe! Ate there 3 times!! We should have stayed longer and bypassed PARIS! And they served a "Templiers Champagne " from Epernay that was DELICIOUS!! LOVED the continental breakfast served so classy in a beautiful room and the bar was quaint and comfy. Met great people there who also loved it. I will DEFINITELY be back!!
Thank god for satnav, never have found it without
Nice hotel in the centre of a pleasant town
Lovely hotel in Reims
We had booked a 2 night stay at this Reims hotel in order to do some champagne tasting. It was walking distance from the central train station and a long, pleasant walk to Veuve Clicquot, Pommery, Taittinger and the center of town. The breakfast room was lovely and the staff was very helpful. We needed to extend our stay by one night and also needed help navigating a taxi to the Champagne-Ardennes train station, and the staff helped us out both times. Would definitely recommend!
One of the best hotel's I've ever stayed in
The excellent service started when we had trouble driving our car into the courtyard carpark; a member of staff was immediately there to do it for us. We had two dogs with us and they couldn't be dog-friendlier. And our room was stunning. It's a 19th century building and traditional French in style. If you like that, and a good location, and excellent service and breakfasts, then you couldn't do better at this price.
Marvellous decor - great service.
Beautiful hotel in a great location
Great welcome, excellent recommendations for dinner. Only criticism is the cost of breakfast, we have had evening meals for the same price!
Nice old style hotel. Very quiet.
Our first time at this hotel. Great location and good breakfast. Staff was extremely helpful. Walk to downtown and many restaurants. Also close to produce market and flea market on first Saturday. Only negative is problems with WiFi working in the room. It would work in the lobby and breakfast room, but very hit and miss in our room. It was not our equipment, as we were using it at a friends house. We will definitely return.
Nice hotel close to downtown
Very friendly and helpful staff. Free onsite parking and easy walking to town. Continental breakfast should be included on price.
Drive home from the Alps
Stopped here on my drive home from the Alps. Wanted to see Our Lady of Riems, the famous cathedral where french kings were anointed with holy oil. This hotel was a very welcome break and very close to everything I wanted to see. Met at the door by a helpful concierge who even parked my car for me! A great tonic after many hours of driving. Highly recommended with extremely helpful and friendly staff. I was even given a brief history of the hotel and cathedral and a heads up on the highlights by who I believe was the hotel owner. Very enjoyable stay. Thank you!
Good Old Times
Second time in Reims, 2nd time in this hotel. Whenever we return to Reims, we will return to this hotel. Just so different from the others.
excursion from paris
beautiful hotel, friendly staff, gorgeous rooms, wonderful experience
Lovely hotel
It is well situated on a quiet street. It is quite striking as a former mansion. The staff keep it very clean with attention to detail. Our room was quiet and clean. I would definitly stay there again.
Old fashioned glory.
Impressive, classy old building, great ambiance. Lovely room and fantastic bathroom with large bath and marble walls. Most staff was kind and professional. All was pleasant and clean. Breakfast quality could be improved. No espresso bar or eggs. They may need to invest in some new mattresses...
Classy Hotel a Walk from the Cathedral
When we checked in we were met by a rather surly desk agent, but all improved from there. We got there early enough to get in of few parking places in the hotel courtyard. The location is OK; the Wi-Fi was OK. Away from the champagne cellars, so we stopped by as we were driving out of town.
Good hotel in walking distance to old town
Older well preserved and maintained hotel in central city. On site parking, attentive staff, walking distance to central city attractions.
Short walk to all sites, free parking, great staff
Highly recommend. Lovely hotel, easy access by car with free parking. Staff is wonderful. Easy walk to all the sites in the city.
Quiet and Beautiful Hotel in Reims
The Hotel Templiers is located on a quiet street away from the main tourist areas but within walking distance. It's in a lovely old home with antique touches here and there. Our room was large (sometimes a rarity in France) and very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. We even gave the sauna and pool a try. My only quibble was with the breakfast which I thought, at 17 Euros, was spectacularly overpriced.
Overnight stop
Overnight stop. Hotel assisted parking. All very friendly and easy.
Retainer in the BIDET! Along with other items
First the good. The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of the city, stores, shops, etc...If you're looking to visit Champagne country--which is 30 minutes away--then you'll need to have a car or take a tour. The staff was friendly enough, but not overly helpful..they watched and let my wife and 15 years old daughter carry heavy suitcases down a set of stairs and fumble over cobblestone pathways. The hotel is mostly clean, nothing that stood out one way or another. This is the good. Now the bad and when I say bad, I mean bad as in I've never seen or experienced anything like it. We put the sign for no maid service and the first day they adhered to that. BUT, on the second day, they entered the room and cleaned up. No biggie, right? Wrong. The maid, put ALL personal toiletry items; toothbrush, hairbrush, razor, etc...in the BIDET! Not on the bidet, not near the bidet, but INSIDE the bidet. If this wasn't bad enough, they put my daughter's RETAINER INSIDE THE BIDET! Gross can't even describe it. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, under any circumstance because of this which is too bad, as I really wanted to like it, but some things cannot be forgiven and this is one of them. The scary thing; I'm sure it was a mistake and she simply forgot to put them back on the counter...now I know where their maids move items while cleaning the bathroom countertops.
Fun in champagne city
A terrific hotel near Reims center. Helpful staff - they let me wirelessly connect to their printer in their office. Good breakfast and good directions!
Delightful
Greeted with valet parking, hotel staff made experience feel very personal, staff were friendly, helpful and very polite. Check in was faultless and simple. Interior was Grand and clean House keeping was exemplary Room was immaculate and comfortable Look forward to a return stay very soon
Excellent location, close to the cathedral
The proprietors were most welcoming and informative and helpful
Everything was okay
It was convenient for sights, organised and helpful
Nice hotel
Great location for walking to attractions enjoy your stay
Charming
Full of French charm with excellent and attentive service.
Aimable hotel close to centre town; walking distance.
Good location
Nice location, handy for the centre of town but quiet in the evening. Useful to have parking in the city centre.
Great location with friendly staff & free parking
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms and free parking.
Really nice hotel.
