Was a good place to stay was only there for one night but the bed was not comfortable for how much it was and the breakfast is very overpriced for what it is better off to go somewhere in town. Very spacious rooms in the villa tho there was a fridge but no microwave. Also not very close to anything but close enough to taxi.

Quiet location close to the city

Wonderful location on top of hill looking towards city. Close to airport and complimentary minibus to and from city several times a day. Small but attractive gardens along with a pool and tennis court.

Comfortable hotel

Nice hotel with comfortable beds and a tasty breakfast. A good bit out of town do better yo haven a car if the times of the shuttle bus don’t suit you.

Tiolet & shower backed up. Asked to fix, never did nor switched us to another room. At check out, all they said “I’m sorry “. They cater to bus tour groups. They rely on being a nice property, but terrible attitudes. I will never return.

Comfortable Stay

The hotel was lovely. The ground are well kept and the beds were extremely comfortable. FYI if you want to use the sauna it will cost you 12 euro.

Location

The hotel and premises are clean and beautiful. It is very close to airport and they have a shuttle to take you to Santiago old area since it is not within walking distance. We were renting a car so we had no problems going around. The staff was professional and we even had dinner at the restaurant and appetizers another night at the lobby bar. The lobby bar has a full dinner menu which is very convenient if you are tired of spending a day walking in the city and don't feel like dressing up to have dinner at their restaurant. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed here several time, it is very convenient for the airport, and the hotel runs a free mini bus transfer into the beautiful historic centre. The hotel is spacious and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bedrooms, excellent, well lit bathroom, and powerful shower. The gardens are beautiful, and the swimming pool is large and extremely clean. Highly recommend.

Couldn’t rest at all.

The hotel and employees was great. But the noise outside is not appreciated. In side is the construction people early morning and the other side people who doesn’t care about other people’s rest.

A great 5 night stay

Very nice hotel. My car was safely parked in the rooms own garage. Staff were excelĺant. A mini bus was available every hour to run guests into town and pick them up. Breakfast very good. Nice bar and outside patio. Room was spacious, bed comfortable.Nice shower. All in all a very good hotel. One of best we have stayed in, in Spain.

Great and smooth check in and check out.

We stayed in a villa. We liked the fact that you park in your own villa and the entrance is right there. However the villa itself needs some updating and smelled a little weird. Overall it’s ok, but I would select a regular room on the main building next time to compare.

Fabulous hotel

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, great food

The hotel is great and located in a beautiful setting. The only thing is that you need a car (or Uber) to move around. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel with excellent staff

Great location with shuttle bus into Town centre where parking is difficult. Staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was trouble free . Breakfast was great and again the staff serving were helpful.

Room service wasn't actually room service, kitchen was closed

Great location, nice staff. Very annoying that they claimed to have a pool, heavily mention this in materials but then it turns out to be “seasonal”. So….closed until July.

Fantastic base for exploring Galicia

Great position for many places in Galicia (e10 taxi into centre of Santiago) - the bungalow rooms are very spacious and being able Tom park your car outside is a bonus

Stylish hotel 10 min drive from the walkable city centre. Spacious rooms. Breakfast was delicious.

I loved it. The location and mountains views are amazing. The staff is so kind and friendly. The rooms, the lobby and common areas are so nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay at Gran Hotel Los Abetos.

I stayed in one of the condos across from the main hotel. There were stairs going up to the place with no ramp and stairs in the place so made it tricky with luggage. The man at check in was pleasant and spoke perfect English but I asked him to order a cab for me in the morning to the airport and it was not done. I found the room a bit stuffy and when I turned on the air it was only heat. I called about it and they said the air conditioner was off and there was no way of putting it on.

This is a great hotel with luxury facilities. Although it is a bit out of town it has a shuttle bus which leaves on the hour and takes 5 minutes to get to or from the town centre.

100% satisfaction

A m a z I n g .... As always. This is just an awesome overall package... Food, service, staff, everything is 100%. 3rd time here and would not stay anywhere else.

Lovely hotel, good restaurant, easy parking and nice pool. On final stretch of the walk to the cathedral, but we drove to town with 2 kids (would be a long way back, although there is a hotel shuttle every hour).

Very nice rooms and grounds and the staff is very helpful. Check-in was very slow, though the staff was pleasant. The shower drained too slowly and there is a bad smell coming from the plumbing in the bathroom.

Perfect site, very nice gardens, the shuttle service very convenient. Comfortable rooms, clean and pretty. Excellent for families with children.

Good hotel, spacious rooms but a bit far out from

A pleasant hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms, a beautiful pool, tennis courts and a very pleasant 'resort like' area. The hotel is a bit far out from town and next to a highway.

The hotel was amazing. Sorry our stay there was only for a couple of days.

really beautiful inside and out

this is a first rate hotel. we stayed in a villa, 700 sq ft, for the price of a regular room, in the off season. all the floors everywhere in the hotel and rooms are beautiful. even had a phone in the bathroom for an emergency- plus one downstairs and one upstairs. the amazing breakfast was the best we had in two weeks in spain- eggs, meats, cheeses, cake, you name it- would have rated everything 5 stars except that our room never warmed up the first day so they moved us to another room close by, but not until after we had already unpacked a bit...

The room smelled like sewer. And we barely could stand the smell.

Close to airport. Nice view of the city. Room was lovely. It was hard to find the bartender. Once we did, service was very good. We had a club sandwich in the bar . The sandwich was delicious. We woul definitely stay again.

Stunningly beautiful hotel! The complimentary shuttle is a terrific idea and makes the access to the old city so simple.

Very Nice Hotel - Good location

Hotel is very good. We were given a 2 level apartment on check in which is in a spearate building from the main reception area. Room was very spacious. Bedroom/bathroom is upstairs and living area at bottom. Private covered carparking is provided at your door. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and good quality. Only had two minor issues - firstly the wifi connection for the apartment was very poor. We had to go and sit in the reception building to access the internet. Secondly, tour buses use this hotel and on two occasions a bus was parked immediately in front of our balcony restricting our view. I would suggest that the hotel instruct the bus drivers to park away from the apartments in the ample parking space further away.

Lovely place but there was a bad, musty smell in the room throughout our stay.

Superb Value in luxurious hotel.

Fantastic experience in a hotel that just oozed luxury and class. A little remote from town but excellent courtesy service into the centre. Couldn't praise the standard of this establishment highly enough.

Happily Surprised!

We were happily surprised with our experience with the hotel and staff.

Nice hotel. Good location with free bus service to Santiago but last bus gets bit busy. But bus driver came back for us 15min wait. Breakfast expensive but good alternatives within minutes drive away. Room clean and big bathroom. Only gripe we asked for 1 yoghurt pot for our son and they charged us 1.5 euros for it which was bit of a hike on the original price and really a bit stingy. Otherwise overall would def stay again.

Short stay hotel

Lovely hotel just outside Santiago. Free shuttle bus into centre runs hourly during day and half hourly in evening. It’s only a minibus so sometimes a struggle to get on it and last bus back is 10.05pm which is a little early considering the Spanish eat late. Pool area lovely but pool very cold, can only be used in very hot days (like 36 degrees) Staff a little distant, not very engaging with English speaking guests, not sure if this is different for Spanish speaking guests.

Close to the airport

We had an early flight so chose this hotel for location. The hotel pool was lovely although it did get busy late afternoon. It provides a mini bus into Santiago del Compostela which saves you trying to find a parking space. We would choose this hotel again if we return.

Nice hotel, but service at bar was poor.

service in the bar area was poor. I arrived at the bar looking for a drink for my family and the young bar lady decided to serve other ones before me, even though she had asked me what I would like to order. The others who arrived after me spoke to her in Spanish and maybe that was why they got served first. In all from going to the bar and then going away with drinks took me 15 mins. My opinion is that who arrives first should be served first. This wasn't the case and is why I would rate the service as POOR.

Have stayed here several times, very convenient for the airport. Beautiful hotel, immaculate, great swimming pool. A little out of town, but they run a free shuttle bus, hourly i think. We came back by taxi, 5 euro.

Quality hotel

This is a very nice hotel with no surprises. The restaurant served an excellent meal, quite rich. Breakfast was also very good. Location is not pretty but there were big views from the bar of the city. A free shuttle is offered.

A wonderful hotel

This is a wonderful hotel with great service and found in the middle of a paradisaical wood land with evergreens and subtle morning fog. The hotel is very well kept and the services are courteous and attentive to individual needs. And a very well kept secret is that in a place with stern competition for superb food, the restaurant in the hotel rates extremely well in the city. It is an unforgettable expreience.

Very good

A big, imposing building situated a couple of miles from the centre of Santiago isn't initially terribly promising. However, it is an extremely spacious place, and it is very well appointed: the beds are superb and the massive bathrooms have first class plumbing. Great breakfast, pool, and a free shuttle bus to take you in and out of Santiago. It is immaculate; I didn't see a speck of dust during my stay. Recommended.

Fabulous hotel for visiting Santiago

Superb hotel. The room we were allocated had 2 floors, a living room, a conservatory overlooking private gardens and its own private car port! The views from the hotel were outstanding and the pool area and surrounding lush gardens were just ideal for relaxing after visiting the beautiful town of Santiago. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It was fabulous!

The hotel is in a lovely location which is out of the busy downtown area, the hotel has a shuttle which takes patrons to town. The place is elegant, the service excellent.

Quiet Place to stay

This is a very comfortable hotel with excellent rooms and a shuttle to and from the center of Santiago de Compostela. It is not walking distance from major sites, however the shuttle is very convenient. Our shuttle driver was amazing! He gave us a verbal explanation of a walking tour of the old town, cathedral and few other places that we would not have known to visit. Kudos to our drive - wish we could remember your name!

A Great 4 Star Hotel

Gran Hotel Los Abetos is a really solid 4 star Spanish hotel, set up on a hill slightly outside of the old town. We stayed in a junior suite, which was well worth the small price increase. The bed was extremely comfortable and we really appreciated the blackout curtains! The downstairs living area and terrace were wonderful additions. We spent a lot of time at the pool, which is a great size and there were always plenty of sun loungers. The shuttle service is very efficient and made it well worth staying slightly outside of the centre. A taxi back in the evening (last shuttle is at 10p) cost about €10. We had two complaints about the property, however. Although the front desk, cleaning and shuttle staff were friendly and helpful, the bar staff were awful. One bartender was repeatedly short and very rude with us. The others spoke very little english, which isn't a problem in most place in Spain, but this is a hotel that has (literally) coach loads of english speaking tourists stay every night. Our other minor complaint is that we were told by reception that the pool bar was open each day, but it remained closed even on a blistering hot Saturday afternoon when the pool area was completely full. Twice we called down for waitress service at the pool (there is a phone with a sign indicating to do so), and no one ever came. So a small point, but disappointing. Overall, a very good stay and we'd certainly stay again.

The hotel is outside Santiago and there is really nothing else around the hotel. However there is a free shuttle bus every 45 minutes into the city except on Sunday. Hotel is modern, rooms comfortable, good food. The grounds are nice and there is a good pool.

Nice hotel not close to the city

The hotel has very nice views and it's very comfortable, but it's quite far from the city centre. Ideal for an early flight or to just enjoy the gardens and the swimming pool there.

Comfortable hotel convenient to airport

Clean, comfortable room. We used the shuttle service to the centre, which although quite limited in terms of timing, happened to work quite well for us. Convenience to the airport, with an early flight, was very helpful.

Fabulous!

We stayed just one night but had an incredibly pleasurable experience. Amazingly helpful and courteous staff had lots of great advice for things to do nearby. During check-in I mentioned I had a late flight the next evening. I was offered a late check-out which I graciously accepted. The next morning I got a call to the room asking if I would like to check-out even later as the receptionist remembered my flight was late in the evening. We loved the beautifully spacious two floor suite room. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this hotel which is situated outside of the busy downtown area. The free shuttle (which doesn't run on Sunday) to the centre of town was a nice touch! It was too cool to enjoy the outdoor pool, but it was lovely, overlooking the town below.

Awesome place

The hotel is awesome, the staff is absolutely helpful. The only thing that needs to improve is the quality of the machines in the gym. some of them are a bit old. But overall, would stay there with no doubt.

Wonderful place to stay when visiting Santiago.

Junior suite was a superb choice for us, they are in a separate block opposite the main hotel block, each has its own garage with door to the suite, steps down to comfortable living area (TV, sofa etc) up to bedroom and en suite. Excellent wifi in the room, superb grounds, a really lovely place to stay. Shuttle bus does not run on Sunday, but hotel organised a taxi quickly, cost under 10 Euro to the cathedral. Restaurant was excellent, as was lobby bar/terrace. Staff attentive and helpful, overall a far better place to stay than Santiago itself. Location on Google Maps appears to be right next to motorways, but in fact it is on a hilltop well above the roads, so the views are excellent and the traffic noise almost imperceptible! Would happily recommend this hotel, especially the junior suites facing the main hotel block, to anyone.

nice hotel

was a lovely, very comfortable hotel. A little bit of luxury after the Camino! Weather was not on our side so the outdoor pool was not an option so really would have loved any indoor spa facilities. 12e to use the sauna I thought was a little strange for guests to have to pay. Breakfast and dinner were both lovely at the hotel. Now much choice of anything to eat during the day. Bar menu is very limited. Service at the bar could have been a little more efficient. Nice hotel, had a relaxing time and shuttle to town was good.

Nice clean and comfortable. Out of town so need to take shuttle down and can back (around 8-10 euro ride). Free parking great if have a car.

If you looking for good night sleep, go elsewhere

The hotel claims to have quiet time from 10pm, yet there was a very loud party going on till 4am. I'm a tolerant person, but when they woke up my 6 year old at 2am, I called the reception. All the man said was ok, ok, but the party went on. We had the double windows closed, the drapes pulled shut, I put in ear plugs and I could still hear the beat of the music. We picked this hotel because it is 5 miles out of the town, hoping for quiet good night sleep. What a mistake.

it was a nice and quiet hotel busy but quiet

easy and quick check in quiet comfortable clean. could have been told there was a complimentary bus into the town monday to saturdays rather than a sign no information was forth coming unless you asked. staff at reception seemed a little serious but efficient and polite bus drivers were very nice and helpful as were bar waiting staff and poolside staff. nice atmosphere overall and very comfortable stay.

San Tiago Vacation

Great location in Santiago, Spain. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had issues with temperature control on the AC, but hotel staff changed our room to accommodate. Hotel offers shuttle service into Santiago, but we were able to drive into town and find parking without any issues. Our international GPS had difficulty locating hotel address, but were able to find without too much difficulty after asking for directions.

Highly recommended hotel

Although outside the centre of Santiago the courtesy hotel transportation made everything convenient, so it was no obstacle for guests. The service was excellent and all the staff extremely helpful and cheerful.

Considering it's summertime, we think that the pleseant outdoor swimmingpool should stay open later than 8:00pm. The free shuttle to the city centre is an excellent amenitiy. Congratulations! Also, it should be available later than 10:30pm, let's say, up to midnight...

What a shame

The Hotel was clean and the decor was of a high standard our first impression was wow this is really nice. But the service was appalling, from the moment we approached the reception to be completely ignored in favour of the Spanish guests checking out to the bar staff who were not exsistent the only way to get a drink is to ask at reception for them to ring someone to come and serve you this process can take a slong as 20mins. The room was good quality but if you left the bathroom lights on for any length of time a glue like substance melted and fell on anything underneath. We had high hopes for the shuttle bus and on our first day the driver made us forget our awfull treatment at reception he was amazing friendly and very informative but the bus didn't seem to run to any schedule and on the other occasions we wished to travel into the city or back it was apparently unavailable. If you want a bed for the night and have a hire car then I would recommend this hotel.

Perfection found

There is only one downside to this hotel. It is about 3 kms from the historic centre of Santiago so you either need your own car or you depend on the hotel shuttle or taxis (both easy) if you plan a holiday 'on foot' to this town. Otherwise, this hotel is a gem. The staff are so friendly (particularly restaurant and bar). The condition of the property, perfect. The rooms spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed. The restaurant for both the extensive breakfast menu or the good dinner a-la-carte menu, excellent. The location is lovely and quiet with wonderful views - like a mountain spa within 5 minutes drive of central Santiago. Highly, highly recommended.

Lovely

This hotel had very spacious rooms and was really very lovely and well-appointed. It was a 10-minute drive to the city center where all of the best sights are, but only 5 minutes to excellent nearby dining and shopping options. There is a shuttle that will take you to the city if you do not have a car. It was very empty when we were there and staff were sometimes slow to appear. Food options on the room service and lunch menus really left a lot to be desired, otherwise, no complaints.

Beautiful hotel but difficult to find

This is a beautiful hotel with beautiful lobby and beautiful rooms. The location was difficult to find. The hotel provides free shuttle to Santiago at a convenience location, but you need to call them to pick you up for returnng to the hotel. Since we do not have a working cell phone in Spain, finding a working pay phone was a challenge. However, a nice local person allowed us to use his cell phone, so we did not get stranded in Santiago. Other than these two problems, this is a great hotel.

Todo genial, limpieza, atención del personal lo único negativo el picnic del desayuno me pareció bastante pobre para el precio que se paga por el desayuno. En la habitación no tenía por ejemplo el cepillo de dientes, el albornoz...

Prima verblijf. Lekker ontbijt. Goede shuttle service. Santiago snel bereikbaar met de auto (nog gen 10 minuten).
