I really enjoyed the property, the staff and the amenities. My only complaint is what Expedia represented as what I was getting is not what happened I did not get a spa treatment included with my reservation.

Amazing hotel, great facilities, lovely location

I have just moved to Palma, and for the first week I wanted to relax and the kids to enjoy somewhere to play. It was everything I wanted and more, I couldnt of àsked for anything else! It was a fantastic stay.

Enjoyable short break in a lovely hotel

Lovely big room (we were upgraded) with large balcony. Staff helpful and friendly. Very nice food for breakfast, and also evening meal at the restaurant. A nice short break from my husband and myself. Ideally located to get about with a close bus stop.

SUPER HOTEL

My wife and I had a super short break at the hotel - staff were charming, bedroom was perfect - and dining was excellent - a bit of a yomp if you want to walk into Palma town centre but lots of buses passing near hotel and a taxi ride is not expensive - we will stay again.

Guest services, General Manager, front desk staff and housekeeping were all top notch. They all made for the perfect vacation.

Fabulous stay!! Excellent service, really friendly staff and rooms were both excellent. We loved the added bonus of seeing a football team here too!

Fabulous experience, staff super friendly and helpful - we paid additional for breakfast which was superb however had to pay for entire stay when we left at 5am so the little 'picnic' was not worth the extra, only a little glitch but easy to fix for 5* experience - loved the hotel and location with a quick taxi into town - woukd live to return!

Ok but wont return

Weather was mainly ok, albeit the storm that hit Palma on the sunday was quite bad winds of 75mph, what i dont quite understand is why the sun bed cushions and brollies were not taken down or inside as it was known that a strong storm was coming. Needless to say that some brollies ended up in the pool. The checkin was seamless and the waiting staff were excellent both at breakfast and dinner. I am not sure that the hotel is actually a 5 star as once you are out of the common areas the hotel is quite tired and needs some attention. Our room was spacious but tired in areas and the toilet seal was broken at the back so was a case if use with caution! bed wasn’t comfortable large but mattress needs changing I was quite surprised that we paid over £2500 for a week but still would of had to pay extra for use of the spa overall ok week but the hotel is extremely quiet with no entertainment so you find yourself having to go into Palma each evening which was 30 euros for a return to the hotel. There was a shop just down the hill so handy to buy water etc.. as quite expensive at the hotel. So all in all hotel was ok but wouldn't stay at this hotel again

December stay was better

We stayed at this hotel in December 2022, loved it and booked again in April. However, this time it was not the same. Maybe because it’s a low season and very few people stay in the hotel. Breakfast buffet was nothing by comparison in December.

Stay elsewhere

This hotel is outdated and uncomfortable. The beds were very uncomfortable and the air conditioning does not work. I think there was some mold that gave me allergies (I realized this when digging through reviews others had). Breakfast is served very late (later than advertised) and the dinner at the hotel is awful. Mallorca is a fabulous island and we plan to return and stay at another hotel. The staff are trying and this seems to be an issue with management and overall upkeep. The spa services are separate from the hotel itself and are great. I would recommend staying elsewhere and trying HSpa

Fabulous Stay

We have just returned from a fabulous 11 night stay at The Valpraiso Hotel & Spa Our room ( with fabulous views over Palma bay) was well decorated and very clean & all the staff so helpful, polite & friendly .. the large hotel reception was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We really enjoyed breakfast each morning with a fantastic display and choice for every taste .. with hot options cooked to order with smiling welcoming staff each morning The Bistro has an extensive menu choice and we really enjoyed everything we ordered.. ( delicious !!) The only down side was a slight occasional drain smell in the bathroom and some area's in the pool area would benifit from some maintenance.

Very nice & friendly

We had a great time staying three nights at this hotel. The spa is awesome! Staff is very friendly and polite, they try to give you a good service. I was amazed by their robot Raimon delivering food as room service; so cool! Will stay again definitely and suggest to others, thank you!

Good place to stay to tour Palma

Nice large hotel. Pools are great with plenty of very comfy loungers. Our aircon didn’t work so we needed to swop rooms which was a bit of a pain but dealt with swiftly. The hotel is a long walk from the main harbour so a car or taxis required. Best to book taxis in advance with reception then it’s no issue. Rooms comfortable enough with a great view of the harbour. Overall a perfectly fine hotel but felt a bit soulless.

I think is way over price for just 2 pool and its not close to the see as the picture depict

Beautiful island, mediocre hotel

Bad location. No restaurants, cafes or services within walking distance. Need a car for everything. Taxis are difficult to get. Waiting time for taxis can be 10 minutes to 30 minutes. No electric adabtors for international visitors. More of a 3-4 stars. Serious need for renovation. Swimming pools are dirty. Furthermore, they are filled with salt water. Friendly staff though. Tried their best to help but limited staff number and not a lot of resources.

A beautiful hotel. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view and the view from the balcony really was wonderful; we could see out across Palma and down to cruise ships in the bay. The room was spacious with great air conditioning. Was a bit surprised that you had to pay extra if you wanted more than 2 pods for the coffee machine in the room.

5 star hotel that’s unrelevan

Overall a pleasant 5* Hotel but it is very much stuck in time, Spa needs renovation and updates all over. I would not pay the extra for a spa day again. Outdoor and pool area is nice. Staff could be more friendlier.

It’s a lovely hotel with a Spa , indoor and outdoor pools , many different saunas, tennis snd paddle Cott, amazing breakfast Buffett. It’s near the port, maybe in a transitional area of town.

Good 4-Star Hotel - Very low quality coffee

It is a 4-Star hotel. I would not rate it with 5 stars. The staff is nice. The room had a double door and therefore there was no noise even though we were next to the elevators. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee they serve needs A LOT of improvement. It tasted like cheap robusta. They should also have coffee machines in the bedrooms.

Great hotel but expensive when you're there

Great hotel, very clean, lovely and helpful staff. Bed was a little hard for my liking but the rest of the room was very nice. Is it a 5 start hotel, not sure, maybe when it was first opened but it's a little tired around the edges now. That said we had a great time. There were always beds round the pools. The pools are both salt water rather than chlorine which was a nice change. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and lots of it, which was useful as everything else was quite expensive. The view from the hotel over Palma was beautiful as it's at the top of a hill, which is great for a view but not so great if your mobility is challenged. There are buses pretty much outside though, which was useful but if there are 4 or more of you then a taxi is probably about the same price! The hotel is an odd one, it's not ideal for a family, it would cost you €100 a day just in drinks and snacks but it is a lovely hotel but if you're there just for a couple of days and want a good base, this would do it

Lovely

We have stayed before ‘Covid’ and returned with confidence we would be well looked after. We felt safe at all times and the hotel has so much outdoor space it never felt crowded. Bedrooms are lovely and everything immaculate. My only criticism is that there is only one dining option for lunch and dinner and the staff seemed very stretched and it was difficult to get a table in the shade. That said they did their best and the food was lovely.

Lovely grounds, very quiet and plenty of very comfy poolside beds. A little out of the centre, we hired a car and that was useful to travel into Palma and surrounding places. Free car parking on site and the hotel staff sorted for us. Everybody very helpful oat the hotel. Breakfast expensive but nice so only did on one day of our stay

5 star prices but not 5 star quality

I think this is probably at the bottom ring of 5 star hotels. The hotel interior is OK. The staff are friendly enough to attend to you. My disappointment starts with the quality of the food at the hotel. I used room service often at first and whilst it's 5 star prices, it's far from 5 star quality. Food was bland and pretty tasteless. I ended up just ordering loc food from just eat. In the room the air conditioning didn't work, so we left the outside door open most of the time to let in a draft which also meant getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

fantastic 3-day break with excellent price from Expedia.No need to get a room upgrade as they are all just as good as one another. If you require a breakfast book in a 'deal' otherwise expensive as is the restaurant. The bistro at the hotel provides much better value. Visit between Oct-March and get 5-star luxury for a very cheap price indeed. We return year after year and sometimes two or three times. The spar is outstanding (all free except treatments) as are several pools . The smart move is to book a package that includes breakfast and eat other meals in the bistro.

Just wonderful SPA hotel with nice facilities. The only problem might be the location on a hill. Great view from 50% of the rooms, but quite difficult to get a coffee or it something outside the hotel.

I stayed at this property for 2 nights about a month ago. By no stretch of imagination is this a 5 star. Maybe a 3 at best. This was the most disgusting, disrespectful and incompetent behaviour I have experienced in my life at a hotel During my stay I had a sever allergic reaction on my skin. A doctor came and treated me. The rash was only on the portion of my skin that touched the bed sheets and the doctor confirmed (in writing) that this was in fact caused by my bedsheets - either dust or a subpar/cheap detergent. When I went to speak to someone about my experience, I wanted them to pay for the cost of the doctor. The woman at the front desk, Laura, berated me. Told me that she didn’t know “what disease I came here with” and that this isn't their problem. This exchange went on for a while, eventually I went to my room to check out because I couldn’t stand being there anymore. Laura then called me 4 times and knocked on my door twice asking me to rub new sheets on my arms to prove that they are not the problem. This behaviour is disgusting and quite frankly scared me because of the constant harassment. I spoke with another guest service person who tried to tell me again that it’s not their fault. Absolutely disgusting service. Standing there with my arms and chest in hives and being treated like a second class citizen was one of the worst experiences of my life. For the record, I stayed at 2 different hotels immediately after and had no issues. Stay away.

Front desk staff lovely and helpful

Stayed in a corner suite on 6th floor. Beautiful views of Palma and the marina as a whole. Plenty of space around the outside pools.

One of the best views in Palma! Really felt like a Palace! No doubt would stay at this hotel when visiting Mallorca again!

The staff here were brilliant. The hotel is up a hill but it’s well worth a visit.

Amazing pool, quiet area, lovely grilled prawns!! Away from Magaluf which is good because not so busy and more peaceful. Have to get a taxi to get to a beach, to walk anywhere is tiring as the hotel is at the top of a steep hill. However this does make for amazing views.

I paid €6 to deliver a bottle of water from the reception to my room And I ended have to pay €30 a night to have a little bigger room then the smell one which I paid €220 each night

My only complaint is that we booked a superior 3 bed room which didn’t have a door/sliding door to close the toilet off and the fridge wasn’t cold.

Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff - couldn't fault it.

This is the perfect hotel if you want to relax by the pool in the daytime and go into Palma in the evenings. It is a 5 minute taxi ride to the old town & all the great restaurants and bars Palma has to offer. The hotel itself is peaceful and relaxing. There are 2 pools, neither of them crowded and it is a great place just to relax and chill out. We will definitely be back!

Highly recommended for a short break

We had a bit of an emergency while there (nothing to do with the hotel) and the staff were amazing. We have stayed here 5 times now and it is absolutely perfect for a short stay - great spa, nice Pools, beautiful elevated setting, tasty food,wonderful staff(except the nigh manager who is a bit grumpy). A special shout out to Maria who made our stay exceptional this time.

Excellent stay in Palma!!!

This is a gorgeous hotel with a great staff, kind and helpful. They let us check in early, gave us a welcome drink, and the room had a gorgeous view of the harbor. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. Truly a great property and location. Can’t wait to return!

The spa was amazing and the felicitates were fab. The rooms were smaller than expected but we requested to room and our wishes were granted.

As it is a business event location there was a lot of noise at night and the hotel needs to accept some responsibility for keeping noise to a minimum in the early hours.

Excellent facilities, good staff, wonderful spa and outstanding value for money...The cleanest hotel and bedrooms we have ever seen. Book a package if you require breakfast as the costs are ridiculous if you book on a day by day basis. A quite exceptional hotel for a bargain break in the winter and highly recommended. We will return again later this year.

Consistently good as always

Always consistent, exceptionally clean - amazing breakfast & lovely ladies in the Breakfast. Indoor pool / spa in winter months is a big bonus. Hotel is very traditional, and whilst is very well maintained, is not for those looking for anything modern.

I booked a trip last minute without a problem. When I arrived I was told that my room had been upgraded, however, after getting to my room It was exactly what I had reserved. The hotel was fairly empty and they put me in a room on the landing with tile floor and the elevator right outside my door. As a result I could hear not only everyone getting on and off the elevator, however, I could hear every foot step. During cleaning periods house keeping was very loud as a result of the noise bouncing off the tile. What made it worse was that upon arrival I discovered that I accidentally checked 1 document and not 2. As a result of this, and seeing that the second occupant was another man, the front desk staff said there would be an additional charge of 80 euros to add my friend to my room. The alternative would be for him to get his own room at 95 euros. When checking out I brought this up and they could not justify why the rate was so high. Additionally, the plate covering the electrical outlet in the bathroom was broken and dust was accumulating on the electrical sockets. This was not much of a nuisance, however, it could be a potential fire hazard. The plate covering the pipe from the faucet on the bathtub was broken as well. The tub/shower worked fine, however, it's something you would not expect to see in this level of hotel.

First class hotel with fabulous views of the bay

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel. (September) We chose a superior room with balcony, and had a marvellous view of the bay. Very spacious & comfortable. The only gripe was that we had to wait until about 3pm for housekeeping to come and tidy the room on the first day. The evening dining was either inside near the bar, or outside on the terrace. We arrived on a late flight and were still able to get served at 10pm..albeit rather hit and miss. Quite an extensive menu and tasty food. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient. All in all a really relaxing break & we would definitely recommend the hotel.

Fabulous, I could not fault it.

Fabulous hotel; close to both Palma and Portal Nous. I could not fault this place. Ideal for people looking a quiet, luxury break but near to everything needed to make a holiday complete. Definitely will be going again this is the 2nd time I have been - cannot wait for the 3rd.

Good facilities across the resort, if you are into activities in a resort - tennis courts, gym, spa etc all are available. If you're into sightseeing and wandering around in the city, worth noting that the walk to Palma is quite long, around 40 minutes, but taxis are available and take about 10-15 minutes. Had a few problems with the room, but nothing major: sink was clogged, air con, even though was on and set to 18 C , didn't bring the room temp lower than 25 C. Overall a good experience.

Many happy returns!

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 30 years and it will remain on our return list. We like it's remote setting with distant views of the sea. The breakfast service and food is excellent and a great opportunity to speak some Spanish, I'm still learning new words! There is a good bus service in to Palma for the shops and restaurants. The hotel has a bar and restaurant overlooking the pool which all look very picturesque when lit up at night. There are several room types within a wide price range, we've tried most of them over the years and never been disappointed.

Midweek break

Fabulous hotel & staff. We didn’t come across one staff member who didn’t seem to love their job. Amazing breakfast. Upgraded to a supreme room which had amazing views of the bay and cathedral. Lovely pool area. It is a good distance walk from palma old town, circa 40 minute walk and we would be relatively fit, but lots of the walk is through old cobbled streets which were lovely. Alternatively there is a taxi rank just below the hotel, and it was approx 8 euros in. Overall an amazing hotel and staff and will definitely return.

ON ARRIVAL NO ONE CAME TO TAKE CASES, HOTEL WAS MORE INTERESTED IN CORPORATE ENTERTAINING THAN INDIVIDUALS STAYING. GYM DID NOT HAVE CRITICAL DRINKING WATER,HAVING BEEN ASKED SEVERAL TIMES.ONLY ONE RESTAURANT OPEN HOTEL WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Nice relaxing break

Stayed for 3 nights in June Hotel was very good and we would return. Probably not 5 star though .

This is not a 5 star hotel. The hotel should be renamed from Valparaoso Motel and change its raiting to 3 stars by western standards. Here are the reasons why: 1: The staff are not professional and not customer oriented. Front desk is rude and not caring. They need training and hotel overall has poor policies. 2: The hotel is not family friendly. Their is no area for kids to play and the pool is dirty. 3: The internet is unreliable. You can't even send an email. 4: The food is medicor at best. 5: The location requires a car for sure. You cannot walk down and up the hill. Its far and the road is very narrow and unsafe to walk with two way traffic. Will definately not go back and highly recommend you find another place.

The staff is amazing. Very friendly and professional. No very disabled friendly. The ramps are very inclined.

Parts of the hotel and service are excellent and 5* but sadly other parts are grubby unclean and need maintenance and fixing and 2* at best.

Superb pool with excellent facilities

Excellent hotel which has been updated. Staff,food and rooms all worth the 5 stars. Pool and facilities are first rate. Our only moan was that you needed to stay 5 nights to qualify for free spa entrance. Our 4 nights here were fantastic.

we have visited the Valparaiso Palace many times and seen the many changes that have taken place. Our recent visit found the hotel to be just as welcoming as before, the rooms have been upgraded and are superb. Every single member of staff is very helpful and the newly presented Bistro is first class. Overall it is a great hotel and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

About the hotel

We were not told about the closing of the 2nd pool Food was not 5* standard Cigarettes were thrown all over the garden and not cleaned up No heated swimming pool Good tennis court Odd smell in the reception area. Something wrong with the plumbing Front desk staff need to know everything. We watched football in the hotel room despite the staff saying it is not available. No instructions on how to use the coffee machine Only Natasha and Fany were helpful

Beautiful hotel with stunning views.

I loved pretty much everything about this hotel from the friendly welcome by Fany (who even completed our entire check in for our flight as well), the relaxing prenatal massage from Laura in the spa, and the amazing breakfast complete with cava (which my husband enjoyed even if I couldn't!). On arrival we opted for an upgrade to a sea view which was well worth it with a stunning panorama of Palma and the harbour. The only points I would make are that given its stunning views, the hotel is obviously located at the top of a fairly steep hill, a taxi to either the port or town centre only costs around €10 so isn't too much of a problem just worth considering if walking if difficult. The larger outdoor pool was also out of order for our stay but the spa pool did have a small outdoor section so we could still catch some sun while relaxing. Overall a fantastic hotel which I am definitely hoping to visit again.

Fabulous Hotel

Fabulous in every way. One of my favourite Hotels in Mallorca. Couldn't ask for more. Hopefully main pool area refurbished in time for summer season, could prove a problem as season gets busier. Never the less will be visiting again soon.

Calm & peaceful

I went for a few days to work in the peace and quiet and that was good. It is a little bit of a walk from the town center but that was also great because a nice walk along the sea front helps clear the mind after working.

Excellent value

We have stayed here before and the value for money was outstanding. We always come back at least once a year. Wonderful spa, gym and facilities. High class rooms with all the luxury you could want .The restaurant food can be expensive so eat in The bistro if you are on a budget. As mentioned, the spa and gym are the best will find at any hotel in the world . The outside pools are clean and spacious so pick the ‘ off season ‘ and give yourself a treat !

good hotel

Excellent hotel . 5 minute taxi ride to cathedral and shops or spend the day relaxing by the pools. Taxi rank or bus stop right outside the hotel Good spa, and food in the hotel. 10 min walk downhill to Porto Pi - shopping centre with fast food , supermarket and smaller shops. Taxi back up the hill as a steep walk. Overall a relaxing break. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful, rooms very clean and large with views of the sea and surrounds

Average hotel at best!

First suite we had was on the 1st floor and literally on top of the road.... We did reluctantly get moved to another suite on the 6th floor (which I must say had a lovely view) however the room did have a very musty smell. Disappointed but we just had to live with it. Very old hotel indeed. They've tried to modernise in places but only covering up cracks! Spa was a bit of a let down! Staff were either very good OR quite poor - Very up and down service.

Luxury hotel

We went back for a second time as the hotel is so good. Staff cannot do enough for you. The hotel is lovely. Very comfortable. The food is great in the restaurant and pool bar. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel. A very relaxing stay with easy access to Palma. Great cycling close by too.

This is not a five star hotel!

Indoor pool closed for the whole of our stay, the staff on reception unhelpfull, no management available to make any decision on compensation, only offered alternative use of another hotels pool and free breakfast on the last day. It took 2 days of complaining to fix the air conditioning and mistakes were made on the bill which had to be corrected! Their statement of "we will do everything possible ... to make your stay a restful one " was the exact opposite!
